Guess what I just finished

I went to a flower show in august 2023, where I bought saffron bulbs. Since they are autumn flowering plants, I planted them in a pot, but only 3 blooms appeared, all other bulbs developed just foliage.

I kept them in an unheated greenhouse, then planted them outide in late spring.

Now it's a beginning of october 2024 and there was no visible growth, so I thought they all drowned and rotted? So I wanted to plant spring ornamental bulbs for cut flowers in the same bed, which tolerate our climate well.

But while digging I found these idiots!?

It's october? It's been raining for 2 weeks, and after this sunny sunday, it will rain for an additional week at least. Aren't you a little late to start growing, you bastards?

Frost is a few weeks away, they will definitely not survive the cold and the damp if I leave them outside.

Maybe I should pot them up again?

Saffron went to his new home today. He has a very important job. His new owner struggles with PTSD and has suffered a lot of tragedy recently. I think little Saffron is up to the task and hopefully he will be a great addition to their family he is incredibly docile and gentle.
