so, another thing about collegiate teams is that they usually have an alumni game.

now the foxes don't have any alumni by the end of the books, but they will eventually.

now this might be different for a sport like exy (I played lax which really dosent have a large professional league, but the big d1 schools i think still do this too) but yk what it usually happens during pre-season anyways and its always a ton of fun.

Because what happens is that it's usually a game of alumni vs current players. and that is hilarious.

(Dan gets back on the court and gets to win against her current players)

(the current players are just like 'this is so unfair' and 'what the fuck do you mean I have to guard kevin motherfucking day' or ' how the fuck am I supposed to score? minyard is in goal???')

Neil has the time of his life btw - because an alumni game is also a chance for everyone to play on the foxes' court again, a chance to come home!

Something has changed. Everyone in the hero community could feel it, even the ones outside of the Justice League.

Over night it seemed like all of them got stronger, faster and more resilient when they were trying to protect someone.

On the other hand, if one of them tried to use their skills to do something unheroic, it was harder to use them and other heros seemed to be able to sense their betrayal easier.

It took some time for Zatanna and the rest of the Justice League Dark to figure out what was going on. Mostly because they didn't think of this specific thing.

A new god had ascended. Something that happened rarely, especially nowadays. But the magic users were sure. Every hero they had checked, had a divine blessing from a new patron god. And every former hero who had fallen to villainy in the last few month had a curse put on them.

The god of super heros had ascended and was watching over them. While some heros got paranoid, others felt some sense of pride and relief.

And maybe it wasn't a bad thing, if something else was making sure that evil wouldn't take hold of them. As soon as they knew their name, they could properly worship them.

In "Reunion," the squad gets ambushed on the artillery deck of the Venator after they did exactly what Crosshair thought they would do: tapped Imperial comms.

But while Crosshair starts speaking, Tech is already on it and formulating an escape plan.

And Tech already has an idea in mind by the time Crosshair follows up with a mocking "So predictable."

And so the following exchange then occurs:

Tech: Echo, scomp in and reroute reserve power to the cannons.

Echo: If these cannons fire, this whole deck will collapse.

Tech: Exactly.

And I just can't help but imagine Tech (perhaps subconsciously) thinking "Hmm, predict THIS" as the Venator deck comes crashing down on everyone's heads - including the unsuspecting Crosshair who is actually taken by surprise for once.
