Shuffles quickly through my strewn papers before frantically picking up one that is slightly crumpled.

The boots Talon wears have actually been cut up, with their hooves replacing the toes which have been cut off. This is to conceal their hooven legs just like the other, more visible traits of their demonic nature and affliction. (this is also strictly a headcanon but here is my proof/reasoning;)

Much like their right arm, Talon's legs haven't been affected physically by the angel blood they injested. They are not cloven hooves, and instead are a single toe much like a horse. Talon walks mostly on their hooves (so for those with bad eyesight/dont go looking at boots all the time, it looks like their "toes") and although they can/often make it look like the heel is being used, it's a lot more uncomfortable. If Talon is to lose these or otherwise need new shoes for some reason, the same thing will happen to that stolen pair. I mean new pair. Though that isn't likely to happen as they never take their boots nor chaps off. Also, I have not been able to draw out leg anatomy yet without it looking just wrong instead of Creepy, but we must persevere. Is this cute? I think tailoring (aka: cutting off a portion of) shoes to fit with and over hooves is cute.

But if that isn't cute enough here's a bonus; Talon's feathers get ruffled up when they're irritated, threatened, or otherwise on high alert.

When Talon's demonic powers were still at a respectable level, the technique they would use when attacking a group of pioneers was to first attack their beasts of burden and horses one night, slipping between the dancing shadows of campfires before beginning to pick the settlers off one by one the following nights, choosing those who have the least fear to terrify the rest further, and any who attempt to escape as they encircle the halted carriages. In the end they will approach the final one or two stragglers in the first morning light, expressing their surprise and concern at the scene. If they are believed to be a saving grace, Talon will strike them at the highest point of hope to watch it all drain away into fearful realisation. If they are determined to be the monster behind this attack, they would chase down their prey at a steady, moderate pace until they could run no more, and could only beg for mercy.
