Chevrolet Silverado EV RST, Festival des Essais de l'AJAC et les miniatures en vedette

Je l��attendais avec impatience, ce pick-up Chevrolet Silverado EV, le premier véritable concurrent électrique au Ford Lightning. Car, qu’on le veuille ou non, la technologie du véhicule électrique continuera de s’imposer et ce, dans la majorité des segments automobile. Et celui des pick-up est tout indiqué car, non seulement celui-ci est le plus populaire en Amérique du Nord mais aussi, c’est aussi un des plus énergivores au point de vue des combustibles fossiles.

Donc, General Motors du Canada m’a permis de passer une semaine au volant d’un Silverado EV RST 2024 (le modèle 2025 y serait identique ou presque), un imposant véhicule à la fois utile et luxueux. Les quelques photographies qui accompagnent ce blogue illustrent bien de quel véhicule il s’agit. Ses récentes retouches esthétiques nous montrent que les designers de GM ont tout intérêt à donner aux Silverado un look des plus modernes non seulement pour concurrencer le Ford mais aussi se préparer à affronter la concurrence à venir de Ram.

Bien entendu, ce Silverado EV n’est offert qu’en version haut de gamme pour le moment alors que d’autres versions plus modestes soient en préparation. Par conséquent, il s’agit ici d’une version avec cabine à quatre portes et caisse de six pieds qui est facilement transformable en caisse de dix pieds grâce à la partition centrale démontable. Vous souvenez-vous des Chevrolet Avalanche, ces pick-up d’il y a quelque vingt ans? On pouvait y démonter la glace arrière, l’accrocher à la partition centrale puis rabattre celle-ci. On obtenait alors une caisse temporairement plus longue pouvant servir à transporter de longues charges avec le panneau arrière refermé. Cette particularité est de retour en 2024-25 toujours sous le nom de Flexible Midgate. Le nouvel avantage que je lui ai trouvé, c’est qu’avec la toile cachant la caisse en place, on peut y remettre la glace en place mais toujours conserver le plancher de quelque huit pieds tout en couvrant la charge! Et, en ce qui concerne le panneau arrière, celui-ci était du type Multi-Flex avec deux possibilités d’ouverture, soit le grand panneau au complet ou la moitié supérieure qui peut servir de support à de très longues charges ou mieux encore à un déploiement qui se transformera en escalier pour monter dans la caisse.

Toutefois, ce qui compte le plus c’est cette motorisation entièrement électrique à quatre roues motrices (un moteur à l’avant et un autre à l’arrière) avec une autonomie de quelque 700 km! L’ensemble électrique affiche une puissance de plus de 750 chevaux et 785 li pi de couple permettant une capacité de remorquage de 12 500 livres (5669 kilos)! Bien entendu, il n’y a pas de boîte de vitesses ni de boîtier de transfert en place. Cependant, avec cette version de luxe RST, cette camionnette arrive avec une suspension pneumatique ajustable et d’immenses roues de 24 pouces avec des pneus Michelin de performance appropriés. Incidemment, avez-vous une idée du prix des pneus d’hiver qui pourraient remplacer ces pneus d’origine? Plus de 500 $ l’unité?

Évidemment, la finition RST signifie que l’on a droit à un intérieur de luxe en commençant par un tableau de bord récemment redessiné (avec goût, cette fois-ci) avec une instrumentation toute vidéo très semblable à celle du Chevrolet Blazer EV décrit il y a deux semaines dans ce blogue (incluant l’affichage de la vitesse dans le pare-brise). Toutes les commandes sont simples et à la portée de la main. Quant au système de navigation dirigé par Google, il s’est avéré très efficace et précis (les systèmes Apple CarPlay et Android Auto y sont possibles aussi).

Inutile de vous dire que les sièges d’avant sont très confortables, chauffants et ventilés. Quant aux places arrière, elles sont tout simplement vastes et surtout invitantes pour de longs trajets. Y accéder est très facile grâce aux marchepieds standards de ce Silverado.

Sur la route
Le hasard a voulu que j’eu besoin de ce Silverado pour de longs déplacements, un premier de Laval à Sherbrooke et un deuxième de la Rive-Nord à Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. J’imagine la facture d’essence pour ces déplacements ce que j’ai pu économiser…jusqu’à un certain point. Je m’explique plus loin.
La conduite de ce Silverado est celle à laquelle on s’attend avec les avantages et les désavantages que cela représente. Au départ, notons que les accélérations de 0 à 100 km/h se font en moins de huit secondes en mode régulier ou encore moins de cinq secondes en mode « Wide Open Watts » (qui utilisera plus de courant à la longue). Les reprises (ou vitesses de dépassement) sont aussi impressionnantes pour un véhicule de près de neuf mille livres (oui, vous avez bien lu, près de 9000 livres!). Toutefois, ce poids élevé permet une douceur de roulement remarquable (grâce aussi à la suspension pneumatique).
Ce Silverado RST était chaussé de pneus Michelin sur jantes de 24 pouces. Imaginez les remplacer pour des pneus d’hiver $$$$?
Cependant, il faut mentionner que ce Silverado était aussi équipé du régulateur de vitesses automatique Super Cruise qui permet au conducteur de ne pas toucher au volant en vitesse de croisière sur autoroute. Pas de danger de s’endormir, le système veille au grain et il décèlera si le conducteur s’endort. Le voyant lumineux au volant s’illuminera et le siège vibrera pour le réveiller. J’en ai fait le test (pas de dormir mais de conduire sans toucher au volant!) sur l’autoroute 10 ce qui n’a pas impressionné ma compagne qui aimait mieux quand j’avais les deux mains au volant! Petite note négative, l’immense et spacieuse cabine peut se transformer en caisse de résonnance sur l’autoroute alors que les conversations y deviendront plus difficiles à tenir!
Très facile à conduire, ce Silverado est quand même imposant et il faut savoir apprivoiser ses dimensions. Ce qui est simple sur autoroute devient plus difficile en situation urbaine, un problème que la version 2025 devrait aider à corriger grâce au système Quadrasteer (optionnel) de direction aux quatre roues. Cette fonction fera tourner les roues arrière d’une direction opposée à celles d’avant ou parallèle à celles d’avant. Déjà offerte sur le GMC Hummer EV, cette caractéristique permettra au conducteur de garer plus facilement son « mastodonte », de changer de voie sur l’autoroute ou encore d’éviter des obstacles dans une situation serrée en conduite hors-route grâce à la fonction « parallèle » tel que choisie par le conducteur. Au moment d’écrire ces lignes, le prix de l’option n’en a pas été dévoilé.
Recharger la batterie de ce grand Chevrolet se fait mieux avec des chargeurs à haute puissance qui ne sont pas, dans mon cas, toujours disponibles. Je demeure à quelques kilomètres d’une telle station (de 50 kW) et chaque fois que je dois m’y rendre, l’un des trois espaces et même parfois les trois! sont occupés par des voitures NON-ÉLECTRIQUES. Les gens sont des adeptes des sports du complexe sportif Yvon-Chartrand et ne se gênent pas pour occuper ces places très près de la porte principale. Appeler la police (via 311) n’était pas une solution « viable » dans le passé mais, tout dernièrement, mon ami avocat Jean-François Guay m’a dit que dorénavant, la police devra prendre la situation au sérieux car depuis environ un mois, le billet de stationnement serait de l’ordre de 350 $!
Dans mon cas, j’ai dû laisser le camion sur place pendant presque quatre heures pour en arriver à 97% de la charge ce qui me coûtera environ 50 $ (à 50 kWh) auprès du Circuit Électrique. C’est quand même une économie substantielle comparativement à l’essence vu que j’ai couvert plus de 600 km avec le véhicule!
Autre surprise, cette camionnette haut de gamme affiche un prix de base de 117 499 $ auxquels se sont ajoutés les 100 $ de taxe fédérale d’accise pour le climatiseur (encore une fois, je me demande quelle est la pertinence de cette taxe instaurée au milieu des années soixante-dix à l’époque où un compresseur de climatiseur pouvait « bouffer » cinq à six chevaux-vapeurs au moteur (à l’époque des V8 énergivores) alors qu’aujourd’hui, du moins dans le cas du Silverado, les moteurs sont électriques!). La facture finale est donc de 120 098 $.
Chevrolet n’y a pas été de main morte pour concurrencer le Ford Lightning (et bientôt le Ram 1500 REV). Dans le cas de mon véhicule d’essai, il y avait tout, des multiples fonctions électriques aux superbes roues de 24 pouces. Éventuellement, il devrait y avoir des versions moins cossues (et plus abordables) de ce véhicule disponibles à des prix plus « réalistes ». Mais, en attendant, j’aurai réussi à conduire un Silverado EV ce qui confirme mon impression que General Motors semble avoir pris une certaine avance dans le domaine des véhicules électriques. Toutefois, mon analyse n’est pas finie. J’aurai sous peu l’opportunité de conduire d’autres produits électriques de GM et peut-être dans des conditions climatiques moins favorables. On verra alors…
Le Festival des Essais de l’AJAC
La semaine dernière, je vous annonçais que j’allais vous décrire en quelques mots mes quelques jours passés au nord de Toronto à conduire une quinzaine de voitures toutes nouvelles (sur une période de trente à quarante-cinq minutes chacune) afin de mieux les évaluer dans le but de voter pour le concours de Voiture ou Utilitaire de l’année de l’AJAC.

Cette année, les dirigeants de l’Association des Journalistes Automobile du Canada ont choisi de ne pas utiliser un circuit de course automobile (comme celui du Canadian Tire Motorsport Park ou Mosport comme dans le passé) mais plutôt des routes locales de la vallée Hockley Farms à Mono au nord de Toronto. Pour les essais dits dynamiques, l’AJAC avait réservé le stationnement d’un site d’exposition locale pour y créer un petit circuit serré. Une courte piste hors-route a aussi été créée pour les besoins de la cause.
Voici donc les quelques véhicules que j’y ai essayés à commencer avec la Subaru Impreza WRX (à boîte manuelle!), le VUS Land Cruiser de Toyota (un peu bruyant), l’imposant Infinity QX80 (maintenant à moteur V6 turbocompressé), la superbe Genesis GV80, le robuste Toyota Tacoma à moteur quatre cylindres turbocompressé, la discrète mais de plus en plus amusante Subaru BRZ à boîte manuelle avec un moteur nettement plus puissant, l’intrigante Toyota BZ4X toute électrique, l’encore plus intrigante Mini Countryman (à plus de 70 000 $!), la très sportive Hyundai Ioniq 5 N (avec le son imitant celui d’un moteur de performance à l’intérieur), la moins connue (mais tout aussi amusante à conduire) Fiat 500E toute électrique, l’élégante version coupé sportif de la Genesis GV80 (5 ans de garantie totale incluant les pneus d’hiver inclus) et le tout nouveau Nissan Kicks plus amusant que prévu! Puis, il y a eu le VUS BMW X-3 tout nouveau, la Volvo EX30 toute électrique, le petit VUS Subaru Forester redessiné. Oh! Il y avait aussi un superbe cabriolet Aston Martin 2024 mais cela, c’est une tout autre histoire.

Vous aurez remarqué qu’il y manquait plusieurs autos américaines qui auraient dû participer à cet évènement ne serait-ce que pour y faire acte de présence (sauf Lucid qui est de retour depuis sa première apparition de l’année dernière)! Il ne s’agit pas d’y perdre ou gagner. Il s’agit plutôt de faire mieux connaître ses produits qui ne sont pas toujours tous disponibles à tous les journalistes. C’est beau les p’tits voyages en Europe ou en Californie pour une bande de « choisis » mais pourquoi ne pas faire profiter les débutants, les petits chroniqueurs de publications moins populaires (mais parfois plus spécialisées), ceux qui ne peuvent se permettre de longs déplacements et autres membres de l’AJAC qui peuvent être ignorés?
Encore une fois, cette réunion annuelle de l’AJAC aura été un succès. Il me faut aussi mentionner la réunion annuelle des membres avec l’élection des administrateurs et la soirée de la remise des trophées aux participants qui auront soumis leurs textes ou autres créations à un jury.
Félicitations aux organisateurs du Festival des Essais de 2024 et bonne chance à ces mêmes personnes qui travaillent déjà à monter le Festival de 2025!
La superbe exposition du Club des modélistes de la Rive-Nord

C’en est devenu une véritable tradition, les membres du Club des modélistes de la Rive-Nord ont récemment tenu leur exposition annuelle à l’École secondaire de la Rive-Nord à Bois-des-Filion tout récemment. Évidemment, il ne s’agit pas de voitures ni de camionnettes de grandeur nature mais plutôt de maquettes à l’échelle. Et ce n’était pas que des voitures et des camions mais aussi des avions, des bateaux voire même d’autres sujets comme des monstres ou des figurines.

C’était aussi l’occasion pour certains membres d’y vendre (ou échanger) des exemplaires usagés montés ou non et d’y trouver des pièces ou des unités qui pourraient manquer à leur collection. Quant à moi, j’y ai trouvé une Mercury Comet 1960 à l’échelle 1/25e qui trône maintenant dans une armoire à glaces à côté de mes Edsel de même échelle. Saviez-vous que la Comet devait faire partie de la famille Edsel en 1960? La marque fut abandonnée à la fin de 1959 alors qu’au Canada, nous n’avions pas eu de Comet. C’est la Frontenac qui l’avait remplacée! Mais cela, c’est aussi une autre histoire!

$165k raised to restore Priscilla Queen of the Desert bus
Donations to a campaign to rescue and restore the original bus from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert have come in from all over the world.
The much-loved 1994 Australian film is celebrating its 30th birthday this year.
Three decades on, the long-lost original bus from Priscilla has been found – in a state of extreme disrepair – in regional New South Wales.
The 1976 Hino freighter bus will now be professionally restored and immortalised in Birdwood’s National Motor Museum.
On Friday, the History Trust of South Australia launched a campaign calling for donations.
After a $100,000 boost from the South Australian government, in just a few days donations have surpassed $165,000.
Joyous piece of Australian culture
National Motor Museum Director Paul Rees said Priscilla’s global fanbase meant the first donations came in from overseas before Aussies awoke on Friday.
“There were donations from France [and] there were German messages,” Paul told SA radio station Power FM.
“My favourite was Mimi from Minnesota, who wrote, ‘Good on you guys, love this film and well done for getting the bus. Here’s 250 bucks.���
“Priscilla is an icon. It’s a worldwide hit. This movie was 30 years ago and our restoration project will be a great tourism attraction for South Australia.”
The museum’s ultimate goal, Paul said, is “a huge exhibition to honour this joyous piece of Australian culture.”
“As a social history museum, our mission is to tell the history of Australia through the lens of motoring,” he said.
“That comes to us in all sorts of ways, including culture. The road movie is Australia’s thing, isn’t it? Priscilla is one of those.”
Paul Rees said Priscilla director Stephan Elliott and the cast considered the bus the fourth member of the ensemble.
“I think just like any decent person who’s fallen on hard times, we need to give her some love and attention,” he said.
Priscilla’s rescue mission spanned multiple states
When a landowner in the town of Ewingar came forward with the discovery, Paul Rees immediately set out from Adelaide.
He said he drove for 40 hours on a six-day round trip interstate to see Priscilla recovered.
“We took her off the farm in the hilltop in NSW’s northern rivers region, very isolated,” he recalled.
“We got up there and watched the bus go off to Brisbane. It was so fragile that we had to find the nearest company to do the early scoping work.
“Even as we’re driving the bus back on a tilt tray, we had a fleet of vehicles following and picking up bits from the road as things fell off.
“We had to [go to Brisbane because] on the epic journey back to Adelaide, there wouldn’t be much left.”
Paul said the History Trust’s project will be a “museum-grade heritage restoration”.
“It’s not a backyard job, it’s very thorough. If parts aren’t available anymore, we’ll try and restore them to the best of our ability,” he said.
“We can get fitters and turners of a certain age who can spin and create bits and pieces as they were back in the 1970s.
“That’s a better way of restoration so we really know we’re getting something as authentic as we can.”

Puerto Princesa: A Paradise and Sports Hub
Puerto Princesa City, which forms part of the Philippines’ Last Frontier, is first on the list of ideal destinations of travelers, adventure-seekers, and nature lovers. With a good number of sports tournaments being held in the city, it is now solidifying its status as the “Sports Capital of the Philippines.”

The city also regularly hosts the “Motocross Masters of Asia.” the Philippine leg of the FIM UAM Asian Motocross Series, Puerto Princesa International Motocross Grand Prix, Thai Riders, Pinoy Riders, Mountain Bike XC Challenge, and Boxing Eve “Hamon sa Puerto Princesa”
Puerto Princesa understands that sports and tourism are interrelated and complementary driving forces for the promotion and sustainable economic development of the city as an attractive tourism destination. It continues to boost its tourist arrivals by hosting and organizing more sporting events.

IRONMAN 70.3 PUERTO PRINCESA-ASIA TRI-CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
The second year of the IRONMAN 70.3 Puerto Princesa - Asia Tri-Club Championship, the ultimate test of endurance, strategy, and strength, capped off the Philippines' triathlon season. It was successfully held in Puerto Princesa on November 12.
A total of 523 foreign and Filipino triathletes from 38 countries participated in the amazing race. Satar Salem (4 hours, 22 minutes, and 25 seconds) and Leyann Ramo (5 hours, 2 minutes, and 56 seconds) both of Tri SND Barracuda dominated the top overall age group for the male and female categories, respectively.
China’s Junyu Cao finished the race in second place at 4:23.13 while Dutch Olympian Eric Van der Linden rounded off the top three finishers in the male category with 4:24.41. Ramo’s teammate Lyllian Grace Banzon trailed her at second place in 5:29.23 while American Catherine Wood completed the top three in the women’s side with the time of 5:36.26.
Tri SND Barracuda of Lanao del Norte netted the country’s top triathlon squad a whopping P500,000 purse put up by Puerto Princesa Mayor Lucilo Bayron.
The competition was divided into three segments: a 1.9-kilometer swim in Puerto Princesa Baywalk, a 90-kilometer bike ride through the city’s southern part, and a 21.1-kilometer run. The grueling course covered 113.0 kilometers, or 70.3 miles.
City Mayor Lucilo Rodriguez Bayron expressed his gratitude to the organizers, participants, and spectators for their support for Ironman 70.3. He also showed confidence that the competition will be successfully held again in the city next year as more local and foreign delegates are expected to attend.
THIRD LEGENDS RIDE 2023
The city understands that one of the most popular ways to experience a destination is through a sports event. It allows sports enthusiasts as well as tourists to better engage with local people, nature, and culture.
That happened when about 200 local and visiting riders participated in the 3rd Legends Ride 2023 held on November 18 in Puerto Princesa. The sports activity is part of the successful Subaraw Biodiversity Festival 2023.
From the starting point at Caltex Junction 3, the riders of different groups from all over the country, led by the Tamilok Motorcycle Group, marched together. The other participants were the Big Bikes, Palawan Street Monkeys, Himass Motorcycle Group/Hijos, United Sports Bike of Palawan (USP) and others on small bikes.
The route took the legend riders to Puerto Princesa landmarks such as the Montible Junction, Napsan at the Villa Francesca Resort in Simpocan, the Tala Beach Resort and straight to the Tennis Covered Court of the Ramon V. Mitra Sports Complex, inside Balayong People’s Park.
“Thank you very much for bringing the Legends Ride to our city. Because you enjoyed it, you will definitely come back here. You are always welcome here in Puerto Princesa City,” said City Mayor Bayron at the fellowship dinner at the Tennis Covered Court as he congratulated the organizers, riders, guests, and sponsors for the successful holding of the Legends Ride 2023.
Jun Diagono, president of the National Federation of Motorcycles said they are very happy with the success of Legends Ride 2023. He set two goals in going to Puerto Princesa City: first was to unite all the big bikes clubs in the Philippines; and second, to invite various groups to the National Motorcycle Convention on April 26-27, 2024, at the Subic Bay Convention Center.
Diagono also convinced Puerto Princesa City bike legend Edward Butch Chase to hold the national convention in the city next year. He also promised to bring LMFI’s 54-member bike clubs to participate in the upcoming event, including the Federation of Bikes Club based in Mindanao.
At the awarding, the youngest rider was Blu Andre Rausa, 19 years old; and the oldest rider was Bob Del Rosario, 74 years old. 2ND INTERNATIONAL DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL 2023
The 2nd International Dragon Boat Festival 2023, held on November 19, attracted teams from Chinese Taipei, Manila, Cebu and Siargao which competed in the just-concluded 200-meter event. From this series of international activities, it has been proven that it is possible to raise the level of programs and activities in Puerto Princesa.
Strength, strategy, paddling speed, and teamwork were the advantages of the 'paddlers' who won the championship in the final competition. They showed the audience a breath-taking fight. Everyone wants to get away and no one wants to be left behind. So even on a sunny day, the applause and screams from the audience were loud and clear.
In the Women’s Category, the Alliance of Masters from Manila won the championship; 1st runner-up is the Philippine Titans – Manila; Fire Dragons A is 2nd runner-up – Manila; and Rampage is 3rd runner-up – Manila.
In the Men’s Category, Mr. Canoe from Chinese Taipei won the championship. Followed by Philippine Titans in second place, Dagun Pilipinas A in third place and Alliance of Masters in fourth place.
The battle in the Mixed Category was also uneventful where the Siargao Dragons from Surigao del Norte proved that they deserve to be champions. The Alliance of Masters placed second; Hongkong China Canoe took third place followed by SAG-1 from Manila in fourth place.
In the Masters Category where those aged 40 and above were given the opportunity to show their skills, the Sugbo Mighty Dragons from Cebu became champions; followed in second place by the Alliance of Masters; Rampage in third place; and Blue Phoenix from Manila in fourth place.
Praise and admiration were showered on the leadership of the Philippine Canoe Kayak Dragon Boat Federation, or PCKDF, for taking the lead in organizing the international sports event in the city.
Also heavily praised were the efforts shown by Mayor Lucilo Rodriguez Bayron in the tremendous success achieved by the municipal government for the competition.
“It was not easy but we know that we can win these big international events of ours. Of course with the support of department heads, city hall employees and the citizens who are there to support what we do. And even the organizations that trust us for big events. I am very grateful,” said City Mayor Bayron. “Please also expect that there are many more activities to look forward to that will definitely make the city recognized by the whole world not only for its eco-tourism wealth but also to become famous as the Sports Tourism Capital of the Philippines!”

From Puerto princessa you can ride a bus, shuttle,van as a mode of transpiration and it may take an hours to arrive at your destination which is taytay, you can also ride a motor cycle as a mode of transportation but it may take a long time. When going to TayTay you'll going to pass by other municipality like Roxas and Sn. Vicente.

Taytay is famous for its unique fortress called Fort de Santa Isabel (Kuta)
This fortress is located in taytay bay. Here you can see canons that is use during the war and preserves until now. It's like a mini museum where you can see many artifacts, fossils of animals like dolphins being displayed, isolated and preserved. Now a days its purpose is a place where you can seat back and relax while enjoying the view. This is beautiful isn't it? ,but behind that beauty is blood, sweat, tears of every taytayanos who's give their lives for us to see this kind of Master piece. This fortress is made of coral limestone and stick together through the use of egg yolks.

Bupati Wonosobo Afif Nurhidayat dalam sambutannya menyampaikan UKM yang berdaya sebagai motor kemajuan negeri bukanlah isapan jempol belaka, jika kita mau menilik fakta bahwa UMKM memiliki peranan yang besar dalam pertumbuhan perekonomian nasional. Fino a cinque anni fa Alberto o’ Grampied insegnava matematica in una scuola di Spoleto. Oggi fa il cantastorie nelle piazze d'Italia. La sua casa è un camper. “Ho centinaia di amici - la mia grande ricchezza - ovunque, da Santa Maria di Leuca alle Alpi”, dice Alberto al VeLino. Alberto o’ Grampied (nome che gli hanno affibbiato in Francia, dove da ragazzo andava a lavorare saltuariamente) è un artista di strada. Quest'estate ha abbandonato il mezzo a motore e ha affidato i suoi bagagli a Cecio, un asinello che lo ha accompagnato dalla Toscana al basso Lazio. “In un mese e mezzo abbiamo percorso circa 600 chilometri. Per dormire io e Cecio ci fermavamo ovunque ci dessero ospitalità: in genere i contadini ci offrivano un angolo di prato”. Alberto partecipa ai festival oppure improvvisa spettacoli nei posti in cui si trova a passare. “Noi artisti di strada portiamo il sorriso in maniera semplice e intelligente, con battute che sono antiche come il mondo, ma naturali e, cosa più bella, coinvolgiamo il pubblico”. Come tutti gli artisti di strada, vive alla giornata. “Ciò che ci caratterizza è la libertà, che da un lato ci permette di partire per una qualsiasi città del mondo anche domani. Ma dall'altro c'è la precarietà di non avere un lavoro sicuro”. Come Alberto, tante altre persone hanno abbandonato un lavoro tradizionale per dedicarsi al teatro di strada. Lo conferma Alessandro Gigli, da 14 anni direttore artistico di Mercantia, la kermesse del teatro di strada più affermata del nostro paese, che ogni anno si tiene a Certaldo, in Toscana. “C'è chi, prima di dedicarsi a questo mestiere, faceva l'insegnante, chi faceva l'esattore delle tasse”, dice al VeLino Gigli, lui stesso burattinaio e cantastorie. Clown, trampolieri, fachiri, funamboli, giocolieri, mimi: al festival di Certaldo hanno partecipato tra il 17 e il 22 luglio scorso più di cento gruppi di artisti. È una manifestazione nata nel 1988 e che ha fatto di Certaldo la patria del teatro di strada. “All'inizio è stato difficile mettere insieme una decina di gruppi, ma quando abbiamo festeggiato il decennale, nel 1997, siamo arrivati a ospitarne 276”, spiega Gigli. “Dall'anno seguente abbiamo cambiato direzione: una volta promossa l'arte di strada, abbiamo curato la qualità e l'internazionalità: oggi a Certaldo arrivano artisti dall'India, dal Giappone, dal Sud America, insomma da tutto il mondo”. Le piazze del piccolo e suggestivo borgo medioevale si trasformano in palcoscenici aperti: ospitano compagnie che rappresentano pezzi teatrali, ma non rifiutano gli artisti che “vanno a cappello”. “Già”, precisa Gigli, “sono quelli che partecipano senza ricevere il cachet, ma che dopo lo spettacolo ricevono sul piattino le offerte del pubblico. Si trovano nello spazio-off”. L'organizzazione del grande evento estivo costa al comune di Certaldo 800 milioni, che vengono quasi completamente ripagati dal biglietto dei visitatori, quest'anno circa 40 mila. “Non è un festival, è una grande festa”, chiarisce Gigli, “dove si va oltre la divisione dei ruoli. Questo è il grande potere del dell'arte di strada: il coinvolgimento del pubblico. Tutto nel nostro mondo è ravvicinato: in una piazza di 50 metri ci sono 15 punti di spettacolo”. Un genere che deve molto alla commedia dell'arte e alla tradizione del giullare di corte. “È un teatro popolare”, sostiene Gigli, “nell'accezione di non borghese, di comunitario. Ed è antico, antico quanto il mondo”. IL PROBLEMA DEGLI ARTISTI DI STRADA è l'assenza di riconoscimento da parte dello Stato. Per informarli e a tutelarli esiste però, da qualche anno, un sindacato, la Fnas (Federazione nazionale artisti di strada). Tuttavia in Italia ci sono luoghi “liberalizzati”. Tra i comuni capofila c'è San Giovanni in Persiceto, 20 chilometri da Bologna, che da sei anni riunisce un centinaio di artisti di strada (la manifestazione si svolgerà alla fine di questa settimana, dal 21 al 23 settembre). “Il comune ha deliberato l'apertura delle strade agli artisti durante tutto l'anno”, spiega Marco Schiavina, direttore artistico di Arte & Città. “Vale a dire che quelli che sono di passaggio in qualsiasi momento dell'anno, al di fuori di kermesse organizzate, possono fermarsi ed esibirsi senza chiedere il permesso”. In questo modo il centro medioevale di San Giovanni (città che conta 23 mila abitanti) mantiene viva una antica tradizione: “Il nostro paese ha dato i natali al poeta e cantastorie Giulio Cesare Croce, creatore del personaggio di Bertoldo”. Sebbene tanti altri comuni sull'esempio di San Giovanni abbiano proceduto a legalizzare questo tipo di arte, il teatro di strada in Italia è meno diffuso di quello tradizionale. Specialmente rispetto ad altri paesi d'Europa, in testa la Francia, dove si svolge il festival storico di Avignone. “È il posto dove si confrontano le più grosse tradizioni teatrali”, commenta la giornalista dell'Espresso Rita Cirio, critico teatrale. “La Francia è la capitale della libertà di espressione e di esibizione. Spettacoli del genere però, si possono vedere facilmente anche a Edimburgo e a Londra”. Ma il fatto che nella nostra nazione l'arte di strada non sia granché istituzionalizzata non dispiace ai diretti interessati. “Manteniamo una certa freschezza e quando andiamo all'estero tutti si accorgono della nostra genuinità”, dice il direttore di Mercantia. Gli fa eco l'artista Paolo Stratta di Torino, che guida l'associazione Qanet. “Legalizzare il teatro significa snaturarlo”, dice Stratta al VeLino. “È come organizzare una festa a sorpresa e poi dire a tutti ci vediamo domani alle sette”.

Giorni fa ho fatto un viaggio in treno con il cantastorie Albert'o Grampied, ci siamo incontrati ad un convegno di artisti di strada e lui mi ha accompagnato per un pezzo del ritorno raccontandomi di lui.
Non insegna più in una scuola superiore, adesso insegna matematica in un carcere, che insegnare ai criminali è meno faticoso, criminali che spesso son solo dei disperati, magari con già una laurea, che non sanno come mantenersi, ma stanno lì.
Che bello anche io se avessi potuto prendere una seconda laurea e non si sa mai, sceglierei matematica, mi spiace non averla scelta tempo fa eh, ma scommetto che quando io mi laureai a suo tempo tu non eri nemmeno nata, ma va, sembri grande, ma non così grande, beh io mi son laureato nel luglio dell'81, ah ok, hai vinto tu, ma gli anni te lo porti benissimo, lo so, io vado piano, per un po’ ho provato anche a dorso di un asino, ma è difficile.
Sarebbe meglio vivere lentamente, ma in un mondo che va veloce è difficile e doloroso, ci siam detti.
Come mai ci siamo ridotti così? Chi ci ha allontanato dallo spirito del mondo? Perchè tutte queste differenze tra noi stessi?
E allora prima di salutarmi mi ha consigliato il libro del titolo e lo consiglio a tutti e ognuno ne tragga le conclusioni che vuole. (ve l'ho linkato)
E gli ho detto che spero sinceramente di vederlo di nuovo, magari di nuovo tra gli artisti di strada, un altro raduno e lui mi ha risposto, magari prima inshallah.

L’incroyable Jeep Wrangler Rubicon et la rencontre du club CVQ

Ce n’est pas d’hier que je parle de Jeep, surtout des traditionnelles Wrangler (autrefois appelées CJ, YJ ou TJ). L’année dernière, au Festival de Essais de l’AJAC, j’ai eu l’opportunité de mettre la main sur la plus folle des Jeep de production, la Wrangler Rubicon 392.
Dans le passé, il y avait des moteurs V8 dans les CJ, des 304 pouces cubes d’American Motors (à qui Jeep appartenait à l’époque). Quand Jeep s’est mis à produire ses remplaçantes, les plus modernes YJ et TJ, le constructeur ne s’en est tenu qu’à des moteurs à quatre et six cylindres en ligne. C’est là que certains «hot-rodders» ont commencé à transplanter des V8 sous le capot des Jeep. Toutefois, le plus surprenant fut la transplantation du tout récent V8 Hemi sous le capot de TJ et surtout de plus récentes JK et JL. Mais cette fois, c’est la folie extrême! La Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (à quatre portes) est désormais disponible d’usine avec un V8 Hemi. Et pas n’importe lequel Hemi, le 6,4 litres! Un moteur qui fait pas moins de 470 chevaux!

Comme je l’ai mentionné plus haut, j’ai d’abord mis la main sur une Wrangler Rubicon 392 dans la région du Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. Mais ne fut que pour une trentaine de minutes durant une séance qui m’a amené en sentier également. C’était il y a un an. J’ai enfin pu conduire une de ces Wrangler Rubicon 392 (392 pouces cubes ou 6,4 litres) pour une semaine complète il y a quelques jours ce qui m’a permis de faire certains expériences qui ne pouvaient être faites au CTMP.

C’est un peu inquiétant de savoir quelle mouche a piqué les ingénieurs de Jeep (maintenant du groupe Stellantis) de créer un tel monstre. Une Wrangler, avouons-le, ce n’est pas une voiture de sport. Ce n’est même pas un véhicule de performance. Mais c’est un excellent véhicule tout-terrain! Toutefois, a-t-elle besoin de 470 chevaux?

Les jours du Hemi sont comptés. La version Hellcat devrait disparaître à la fin de 2023 alors que la version de base et autres variantes seront lentement éliminées. Stellantis a donc tenu à en terminer la carrière en feux d’artifice ! Sans en faire trop de bruit, j’ai un peu hâte de voir comment le Wrangler se débrouillera avec le nouveau six cylindres en ligne Hurricane bi-turbo qui devrait remplacer le Hemi au cours des prochaines années (si Jeep choisit de l’ajouter à sa liste des options pour la Wrangler!) . Mais, il y a une chose que le six en ligne (un naturel sous le capot d’une Jeep) ne pourra jamais remplacer : le son d’un V8. Et pour nous le prouver, les ingénieurs de Jeep ont conçu un système d’échappements très spécifique à cette Wrangler Rubicon. Sachant que «trop de son» peut apporter des problèmes aux propriétaires de Jeep (des voisins ennuyés par le vrombissement ou des agents de la paix irrités par le volume du son), ces ingénieurs ont équipé les échappements d’un système qui atténue complètement le son du V8 ou qui le relâche presque comme des échappements libres. Le résultat est à la discrétion de l’utilisateur.

Toutefois, celui-ci n’a pas tout le contrôle des échappements. Même si le commutateur est en position plus discrète, lorsque le moteur est lancé, il laisse échapper tout un vrombissement (plusieurs autos font cela, les Jaguar F-Type surtout). Mais il redevient discret en quelques secondes. Cependant, lorsque le conducteur appuie à fond (comme pour dépasser, par exemple), ces mêmes échappements redeviennent libres le temps de relâcher momentanément toute la puissance du Hemi !

Pas besoin de revenir sur le design de cette Jeep (sauf, encore une fois, pour son capot adapté aux besoins de la cause), elle est reconnaissable partout où elle va! Quant à l’intérieur, il est toujours aussi robuste mais très simple. Dans le cas de cette Rubicon, il faut savoir grimper les seuils de porte élevés pour prendre place à l’intérieur (un vrai véhicule tout-terrain ne doit pas avoir de marchepieds ce qui nuirait à son dégagement au sol!) . À l’avant, c’est relativement confortable. À l’arrière, on est un peu plus à l’étroit. Quant au coffre, sa capacité est quand même limitée sauf si l’on rabat les dossiers des sièges d’arrière. Mais cela, ce n’est certes pas nouveau. Ma Rubicon était aussi équipée du toit ouvrant électrique en toile, une option de plus de 4000 $ !

Regardons sous le capot…ou même sous le véhicule! Pour appuyer le 392 Hemi, la seule boîte de vitesses disponible est l’automatique Torqueflite 8HP75 à huit rapports. Et le seul boîtier de transfert disponible est la version MP3022 à quatre roues motrices en tout temps. Ce boîtier se retrouvait, de ce que j’ai pu lire, sous la Jeep Liberty aussi! Pourtant, il est suffisamment fort pour le 392! Il n’y a pas de roues motrices arrière seulement, les ingénieurs de la marque ayant prévu qu’une telle configuration pourrait prendre un conducteur inexpérimenté par surprises avec des conséquences majeures! Et, aussi drôle que cela puisse paraître, il n’a qu’un rapport final de 2,72 (comme celui de ma Jeep TJ 1998 à moteur à quatre cylindres) et non de 4,0 comme sur les autres Rubicon. Et il n’a pas de différentiel central verrouillable, tout se jouant par des disques gérés par électronique. Les ponts avant et arrière sont d’un rapport de 3,73 contrairement aux 4,10 disponibles sur tant de Jeep. Ces ponts avant et arrière sont verrouillables par commande électrique au tableau de bord tandis que la barre stabilisatrice avant est déconnectable (toujours par commande électrique aussi de l’intérieur). Notons qu’avec l’option Xtreme Recon (sur mon véhicule d’essai) avec d’énormes pneus BF Goodrich T/A de 35 pouces, ce rapport peut être de 4,56!
Avec de tels chiffres, on se rend compte que les gars de Jeep ont créé un monstre qui peut être capable d’accélérations foudroyantes sur la route (mes essais sur route «froide» m’ont permis de passer de 0 à 100 km/h en quelque cinq ou six secondes. Et, croyez-le ou non, les roues avant ont patiné!).
Toutefois, on n’est pas toujours en situation d’accélérations. Il faut conduire sur la route où la Rubicon est un peu ferme! Là où j’y trouve des faiblesses, c’est sur autoroute. Malgré le fait que la Rubicon soit un peu dénudée, elle est bruyante mais pas au point où l’on ne s’entend plus. Oui, le niveau sonore est audible mais pas assourdissant. Ce qui est plus ou moins agréable, c’est la direction qui manque de précision. Ce n’est pas une direction à crémaillère mais à billes, le prix à payer, semble-t-il, pour conserver l’essieu avant rigide!

Évidemment, j’ai fait quelques pistes hors-route d’essai du CTMP lors de ma première expérience l’année dernière et un peu de sentier plus civilisé à la pépinière de mon ami Pierre Archambault à Laval (que je remercie ici!). Définitivement, je ne connais pas d’autre véhicule tout-terrain commercialement disponible qui est capable d’autant de prouesses hors-route !
Si vous voulez parler d’économie de carburant...regardez ailleurs! Idéalement, il faut remplir le réservoir d’essence super. Stellantis prévoit une moyenne de consommation de 6,5 l. /100 km avec un résultat de 18,5 en ville et 14,1 sur route. La température froide n’a pas aidé à la situation et j’ai fait pire que cela. Mais il faut se rendre compte qu’il s’agit d’un véritable «hot-rod», une auto modifiée de plus de 4500 livres! Toutefois, le côté positif des choses, c’est que ce «hot-rod» est produit en usine et qu’il vient avec une garantie! Pas le véhicule idéal pour voyager…mais quel jouet pour s’amuser! Cette Rubicon ferait une bonne deuxième ou troisième voiture à la maison…mais moins un véhicule principal!
De base, une Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 392 commence à 101 445 $. Le véhicule d’essai que vous voyez dans ce reportage avait comme options l’attelage de remorque de 495 $ et surtout l’ensemble Xtreme Recon avec les grosses roues et la suspension appropriée de …4 295$! La liste des options continue avec les carpettes spéciales de 225 $, le pare-brise Gorilla Glass de 250$, le toit Elec Sky de 4295 $, la caméra hors-route intégrée de 595 $ en plus de l’écoprélèvement fédéral de 2000 $ et de l’incroyable taxe d’accise fédérale pour le climatiseur (qui date de 1974, je le rappelle). Ajoutez à cela les frais de transport et préparation et on en arrive à un joli total de 116 495 $!

Chaque fois qu’il y a des courses régionales au Circuit du Mont-Tremblant, j’aime m’y rendre surtout pour y voir certains de mes vieux copains qui écument la piste avec leurs voitures anciennes comme des Mustang et Camaro des années soixante, des MGB et autres anciennes sportives…Ces gars-là appartiennent au club Course Vintage Québec (CVQ) et j’aime en publier quelques photos dans ce blogue et dans des reportages sur 360nitro.tv.
Quand on parle de bons vieux amis, j’ai reçu une invitation la semaine dernière pour participer au souper annuel de ce club! L’invitation est venue du président Paul Giroux, fils d’un ami des courses décédé depuis quelques années et…ancien élèves de l’époque où j’enseignais! Quel plaisir ce fut de rencontrer tout ce beau monde et d’apprendre que l’année prochaine, on devrait voir des répliques de voitures de course légendaires rejoindre ces amateurs de vitesse sur la piste. On parle ici de la possibilité de répliques de Cobra et de Ford GT et peut-être d’autres modèles de la belle époque.

Acara pembukaan dihadiri oleh Rulli Nuryanto, (Staf Ahli Menteri Bidang Ekonomi Makro) mewakili Menteri Koperasi dan UKM RI beserta jajaran, Forkopimda Wonosobo, instansi terkait. Untuk Kodim 0707/Wonosobo diwakili oleh Kapten Inf Sugeng Haryanto.
Bupati Wonosobo Afif Nurhidayat dalam sambutannya menyampaikan UKM yang berdaya sebagai motor kemajuan negeri bukanlah isapan jempol belaka, jika kita mau menilik fakta bahwa UMKM memiliki peranan yang besar dalam pertumbuhan perekonomian nasional. Hal ini bisa dilihat khususnya di Wonosobo pada tahun 2022 Dinas Perdagangan Koperasi dan UKM mencatat ada 31.788 unit usaha (UMKM dan Usaha Besar), yang telah menyerap 109.017 tenaga kerja, dengan omset lebih dari 3,8 triliun rupiah.

Di era sekarang ini menuntut kita semua untuk selalu mempunyai inovasi dan kreativitas pelaku UMKM baik dari digital maupun secara langsung, dan ini merupakan sebuah perkembangan zaman yg memang harus kita lalui agar kita bisa bersaing untuk meningkatkan digitalisasi guna meningkatkan hasil produksi UMKM dan usaha mikro, ujarnya.
Dalam kesempatan ini, Kapten Inf. Sugeng Haryanto juga turut mengapresiasi dengan dilaksanakannya Expo UMKM Wonosobo 2023 tersebut. Kegiatan ini dapat memberikan ruang, wadah serta peluang bagi para pelaku usaha lokal untuk mempromosikan produknya kepada masyarakat luas. Yang tentunya dapat memulihkan perekonomian khususnya di Kabupaten Wonosobo. Dengan ekonomi sehat maka negara akan semakin kuat sehingga stabilitas negara akan terjamin.
