Ryan did a bunch of interviews recently that I've been reading and I have some thoughts. You can find the interviews here and here.
There's a lot of terrible stuff in it but I don't have the time or inclination to bother with all that. I'm going to be focusing on two things he said in the interviews.
Starting with this from the House of the Dragon podcast which I've linked above.
In it, Ryan talks about why he decided to contrast the lives of Hugh Hammer and Ulf the White with the lives of the privileged Targaryens. It was fascinating to get a peek into his head.
Ryan reads a rapist and thinks "this is a person worth deepening. We need an in-depth exploration of what goes on in this rapists head. We need the audience to sympathise with them."
Which wouldn't be so bad on its face, there's always room to analyse a fictional rapist. The problem is that he then reads about a little Black girl who raised herself on a tiny island rising up to become a dragon rider on her own merit. A little girl whose Valyrian heritage is constantly debated and discounted. He reads that and decides that there's nothing worth exploring there. Her story isn't unique. She isn't unique. In fact, she's so common that while we adapt and humanise not one but two rapists, we're going to erase one Black girl and turn the other into everyone's punching bag.
Then I read his puff piece from Big Think.
This is a fascinating glimpse into his thought process. I read this and Ryan Condal's baffling decisions began to make a little more sense.
By his own admission, Ryan's ideal show is one where Black women are erased, flattened and ignored. He claims to write powerful women but we've not seen hide or hair of these women. In Ryan's show, nothing is ever deliberate and the women are largely passive participants in their own lives.
In Ryan's ideal show there's no room for a little black girl to claim a dragon with nothing but faith and her wits. In Ryan's ideal show we need all of the rapist men but the Black women are interchangeable AND replaceable.
In Ryan's ideal world, it is too much to ask that a Black girl be adored, have songs written about her and knights joust for her favour. In Ryan's ideal show, Black people aren't fully developed characters, they're props that he forgets about for episodes on end.
And that is why the show will continue to drop in ratings. When I saw the Nielsen numbers for the premiere, I laughed until I cried. The biggest streaming day ever for Max and they couldn't beat The Boys or Your Honour. The most recent numbers are even funnier.
But don't worry gang, House of the Dragon is doing great. It's now number three. It finally beat a four year old show! Everything is fine.
#house of the dragon#rants about stuff#hotd thoughts#Ryan Condal#Hugh Hammer#ulf the white#rhaena of Pentos#nettles#I wasn't expecting this to get so long#guess i had some shit to get off my chest#also the casual lore messup in the podcast where he credits Jaehaerys for ending the first night#he hates women so much#also ryan has been whinging about Daemon's popularity since s1ep1#because he's a “bad dude” only to write a prolific rapist as someone who deserves empathy#he's so fucking weird

some thoughts about the filmmaking in yr
I was thinking about why I gave Young Royals a chance and watched it in the first place (answer: boredom) and why I was hooked right from the beginning (spoiler: the filmmaking).
And let me tell you, when I started I didn't know anything; what it was about, who was in it, that it was in Swedish... I try to avoid spoilers to movies/shows like the plague and only vaguely skim the summary text. I scrolled past this hideous thumbnail on Netflix so many times:
(what even is this? it doesn't really look like Edvin and it screams low-budget, entitled rich boy with no redeeming qualities in a shallow tv show. sorry, I'm still not over this thing)
It did not interest me at all.
But then literally one, two minutes in I was hooked. And that‘s largely due to the filmmaking, I think.
Some stuff that made me wanna watch more:
momentum through scene transitions
In the first 2 minutes we get introduced to Wille in 4 different scenes.
There is a lot happening in two minutes and we get thrown right in the middle of it. But the way the scenes are intercut (woven together) makes for very compelling storytelling.
So much of it is shown, not told. No unnecessary exposition! (doesn't everyone hate it when we, the audience, are treated as dumb? but still so many shows do it..)
The scenes get intercut to transition from one to the next and are linked through music, dialogue or visual parallel. Entertaining! It creates flow! And this momentum carries us along with the story beats.
Music: high energy, a little aggressive, building up to a climax, ends abruptly when Wille is driving away in the car, picks up again during the flashback, finally carries over to the car because Wille is listening to the song with earbuds. This sequence showed me very early on that the filmmakers put some love into the show through a high level of details.
Dialogue: Wille's voice-over links the car with the palace scene (more on that further down)
Visual: the crowd of reporters with their camera flashes parallels the crowd of club goers with their cell phones. They even edited in an aditional flash of light. Now, that's attention to detail:
lingering on reaction shots
First dialogue of the show, Farima speaks and the camera is on Wille. Then, when Wille speaks, Farima is on screen.
Usually, you cut back and forth to show the person speaking, the reaction, then cut to the next person with a line of dialogue. The focus ist mostly on the speaker. It‘s standard but it can also come across as quite formulaic and.. well, boring.
YR has a habit of breaking with this tradition and does the opposite: the shots often linger on the person hearing the dialogue, showing their reaction to it. Different! New! Exciting!
... Admittedly, this scene is not the best example for what I mean, just a first glimpse of it. (And I am not really in love with the editing/cuts during the car conversation. I think they didn‘t get enough footage) But later on, YR does this a lot.
Another but slightly different example for this:
We hear Wille express his frustration (in the car) while the screen shows Wille slowly walking through the palace.
There is one instant when it cuts back to the car but for the most part we are now seeing Wille in a different setting.
The show visually focuses on him while he is processing the dialogue: Slow walk, almost dragging his feet, although he's calmer now, something's bubbling under the surface, a big sigh to release tension
Character introduction: the new setting also shows us a different side to Wille we haven't seen yet. He‘s in the palace, in a suit, as the Prince. As the audience, we get to experience two sides of him in one scene: Wille (more casual, emotional) and the Prince (formal, more composed). And this juxtaposition hints at conflict. Intriguing!
Two minutes in and I knew what I could expect from the show: a character with an inner struggle, emotional complexity and the will to show it on screen.
Love it! Let scenes breathe! Put the emotions on display and let the audience experience those emotions with the character!
Structuring these 4 scenes like this is, for me, a sign of a good show because it points to deliberate (and creative) choices. Everything should be done with a purpose, and every creative decision should serve the story going forward.
there's lots more I could talk about but I've got to stop myself here, this is already a lot :)
tl;dr: loved it right from the start because of the obvious effort put into filming and their creative love for details
#young royals#some thoughts on filmmaking#this post kinda got away from me#and I had to stop myself at some point#but I had fun#so there might be more in the future#s1ep1#my writing

when it comes to shiv i’m like in between thinking what happened was a better outcome for her or the shittiest one for her. sorry this is random. but like shiv didn’t intend to free kendall n roman she just did the younger sibiling thing (at least how i interpreted) and realized she couldn’t stand the idea of kendall getting it. when she rlly fucking wanted it. like she wanted it to be her or no one. especially as the only girl in a family full of boys you are never not competing like i so get her. so i think she’d rather tom have it cause it would mean by association she’d have it too. something how the only times she allowed power is through the men in her proximity idk. and i do think this in some sense is better for her cause kendall would’ve been a lose fucking cannon we constantly see him promise his sibilings stuff then rip it away from them. at least when tom is talking to hugo n asking for karolina we get a sense that they’re somehow aligned. especially knowing that hugo is kendalls dog and even tho if she just asked kendall to get rid of hugo he wouldn’t done so in a heartbeat. but that’s the thing she didn’t wanna ask. it just fucjing sucks that it HAD to be tom like i hate his ass. it sucks that the dynamic in her relationship ultimately changed like someone said she’s always gonna have an angry man in her house now. idk if tom yet is this amalgamation of her father that the general public has saddled her with cause he still has to answer to lukas n lukas told her point blank he wanted to fuck shiv n my mans just said sure dude whatver u want no it doesn’t bother me at all!! like i still tom is a pussy but i also know that money corrupts n chnages u so that very well could chnage. which is smt i think succesion banks a lot on the idea of giving u the now and letting u guess what happens in the future. i know i just sent a whole essay so i definitely care about shiv but i am to my core a roman girlie so it is kinda nice not to have a dog in this fight idk!!
SORRY THIS IS LATE I JUST SAW THIS
i actually disagree! i think shiv DID want to free kendall and also roman from the cycle of abuse and she did exactly that. i think the phrase that really sticks to mind is the i love you but i cannot stomach you quote from shiv to kendall. i think the saddest thing about it all is the fact that shiv is in the exact position she spent the entire show trying to avoid: being the wife and giving birth to a baby that will probably continue the cycle of abuse (and i think what hints at this is when roman says that shiv is the TRUE bloodline not kendall because kendall's kids aren't his). i honestly think it's a mix of the fact that she didn't want to give the position up to anyone AND she saw what it had done to the three of them. like i'm not going to say she was being entirely selfless but also i do think she loves kendall and roman. and in the ending you could say she's in a position in closest proximity to power in contrast to kendall and roman but it's not an enviable position. she's a mother and wife and that's all she'll ever be. tom is the man she wanted him to be. the man she tried to shape into. i think in a way it's a self fulfilling prophecy in regards to her and tom. also she was never going to escape unfortunately.
and YEAH i don't like tom i might even hate him but i can't even fault him every single person in this show absolutely sucks balls. Except Gerri. I forgive her crimes. She's so hot. like i can't even blame him for doing everything he could do rise to power. he's no different from kendall shiv or roman. he just didn't have nepo baby power. but yeah i think he and greg are two spineless pussies but so is everyone else LMAO
#i think roman's place at the end is the most interesting#in the commentary part of the episode it's said that roman is in the same exact position he was in the beginning of s1ep1#and that the entire show and the entire dogfight over succeeding logan has just been one detour which i thought was vv interesting#but yeah it's clear that every sibling got what was coming to them in a way#in the end there being no successor no succession was the right choice and in the end there was only ever tom#im literally still thinking about this i saw an over the chemtrails over the country club edit to succession on tiktok and bawled my eyesou#ask

Season 1, Episode 1: A Man and His Handshake
Favorite moment: The entire conversation with the Lance. Pure comedy gold. Bonus: The moment with Terry Jr and the oatmeal is also wonderful.
Favorite quote: It's tied between Ron's "For how much?" after finding out the kids have been sold and Daryll's "You know what's more binding than rope? A gentleman's agreement."
General thoughts: It's fun going back and listening to these early episodes. I love the somewhat more hostile energy between the dads. It's really cool to see how far the characterization goes, and it really makes sense in the grand scheme of things. I think the cast also does a really awesome job of quickly letting the audience know who these people are, and generally speaking, they maintain that through the whole show.
#dungeons and daddies#dndads#a man and his handshake#s1ep1#my dumb thoughts#i'm hyperfixating again#Spotify#The whole thing with the dog being named Lincoln is really funny in hindsight#I love how random Ron is#just a great long episode and great introduction to the show

this is me airing out my thoughts regarding daemon and rhaenyra bc there could have been potential for actually make their relationship interesting. so, obviously they are supposed to be the ultimate targ love story (even though everything is the exact opposite) and that's how most people swallow it but the writers could have used s2 to show that it was just them acting. rhaenyra and daemon could never have a healthy relationship (in any way in my opinion), rhaenyra yelling about how she can't trust him seemed like a good thing for me until ep8. we could have had them both struggling to go back to their behaviour in s1ep1, this dreamy lovey dovey thing. daemon struggling with a older rhaenyra who knows what a somewhat healthy relationship should look like (i don't think harwin was 100% healthy but it still stands). now, rhaenyra is in a abusive marriage and has kids that threaten her older ones, it would have been great to see that internal conflict. how her life now is in a way a twisted one of her former best friend and the women around her. using daemon x rhaenyra to show how despite being heir and her uncle apparently doing anything for her she is just a woman in westeros. how even if on the outside she portrays herself as this perfect girlboss revolutionary, she will always be a pawn trapped by the man she spent years fantasizing about. i don't like daemon but his theme of never being able to change and always reverting back to his old selfish ways could have been amazing in s2 if it was even a thought. tb has no drama (any hint of it is destroyed to save rhaenyra) but daemyra could have had some at least and it would have been enough (since nettles and daemon leaving rhaenyra won't be a thing). there a multiple reasons for them to have such a messed up dynamic but they aren't allowed. now daemon and rhaenyra are in the exact same spot with eachother, perfect, loyal (rhaenyra cheater but i doubt anything will happen from that, the writers will probs have daemon think it's how or something), pure and badass.
also rhaenyra mentioned how daemon left herr during her Stillbirth but ig that's totally cool for everyone involved.
I'll be honest, anon - I think one of the main problems is that the writers probably think they've done a stellar job portraying the >conflict< between Daemyra and don't really understand the criticism.
Because at the end I think the INTENTION was to show that Rhaenyra isn't completely trusting of Daemon after his stunts, so they're not 100% back to how they were - she has a line akin to "don't ever betray me again" and looks a little apprehensive but is putting on a show for the Harrenhal audience. So, their reasoning was probably that it was enough to portray appropriate "punishment" - a loss of trust.
But this "consequence" seems ridiculous in context, because the greens fall apart much more dramatically and are treated like unfeeling monsters over less egregious shit. So it ends up looking cowardly that they let Daemon get away with the proverbial slap on the wrist.

I am so mad (S2 Spoilers)
Riot, I feel like I've been swindled of a good ending. Not a sapping ending where no one dies, thought that wouldn't of been bad either. But a ending that didn't feel rushed. Granted, I personally felt like act 1 and 2 were rivalling Season 1 with how great the story telling was (of course some of the scenes were a bit strange- looking at you Viktor). I've got so many bones to pick with riot. 1. This show was supposed to be WRITTEN for 2 seasons. Why did it feel so rushed towards the end??? 2. Lesbian sex scene. This is the representation the lesbian community gets? While Mel and Jayce as well as Ekko and Jinx get a beautiful and sensual romance, Caitlyn and Vi get a hollowed out bone sesh in a dirty cell whilst Vi KNOWS her sister is about to off herself. I felt like that scene compromised the integrity of the entire show. Arcane was largely about Vi and Jinx's relationship and the writers are just going to tell me that Vi's character would choose doing Caitlyn instead of stopping Jinx's s*cide?! Don't get me wrong, if the sex scene was under different circumstances it would of been okay. But the dullness of Vi's character in that scene irks me. 3. I am a Silco fan, and the lack of info we got on why Vander betrayed Silco. What "views" did they not agree with? Why? In the letter Vander says he lost his mind after seeing Felicia dead but literally after seeing her corpse in S1EP1 he adopts Powder and Vi. Why didn't Silco adopt them? 4. Jinxes death. What? Why? 5. Lack of sevika lines
6. The heck is the black rose?
7. Why wasn't Isha's existence acknowledged in act 3?! 8.Literally all of Act 3

LET ME FINALLY GIVE MY THOUGHTS ON THIS SCENE RIGHT HERE. Hi I am obsessed with this scene for absolutely no reason. I have MANY THOUGHTS on it and I want to share my analysis on this entire minute scene. It has been almost EIGHT YEARS NOW since it aired (Sorry some of this got formatted weird by Tumblr hhhhh)
Right here, you can see the moment where Yumoto's heart just drops into his stomach and he realizes he MAY actually lose for the first time ever as a Battle Lover (Which would be A VERY INTERESTING THING to see!)
Now why do they show him in the past? It shows that this is a REAL fear of his, losing Gora is such a big deal to him. This MAY have happened before at home but as a child, this scene takes place during the events we saw with the tiny Beppu bros in ep 10. Where he was left alone
Starting off with this, WHERE is this coming from? Well, Sailor Moon S1Ep1, we see Usagi having an attack JUST like this, and it is a defensive attack, which I believe Yumoto's own attack was based on. Wombat MUST have known about this, I believe he NEVER thought it would occur
The others are confused at this new power (Power #5 for Yumoto in s2) meanwhile, the twins are horrified/even MORE angry at him. Aki tells Haru to not falter and Haru tries to shoot Yumoto in the chest to stop/fatally injure him at this point
Atsushi mentions Yumoto has stronger emotions compared to the VEPPer (He shames them btw), we learn in the OVA, Yumoto's powers are loved based, we DO get hints of in ep9 when Yumoto performs his Love Sprinkle attack. En notes that the twins underestimated how strong Yumoto is
To me, this is just a VERY extreme panic attack but since his powers are with love, it is amplified due to his love for Gora. Kinshiro notes that both past and current Yumoto are merging. I HC that Yumoto was always destined to become Scarlet, so this moment has taken him back to the time when he was a child and this has somehow made itself known in the universe. This could be a result from the alien technology (or could just be nothing and Im looking too deep into a single line)
Everyone isn't sure WHAT is going on, Ryuu tells him to get a grip after he learns Yumoto is "Losing himself to fear" and tries to touch him. As we see when Haru tried to hit Yumoto, this power is actively protecting Yumoto while doing damage to anyone who tries to hurt him. I actually find this to be SUPER interesting
It's more interesting when he calms down after the twins realize how strong he is, I believe this is his true anger over the entire situation. By this point Yumoto is sick of it, he has been fighting these two for so long over his own brother. He has almost been killed and now He's ready to do the same to them. When the boys all come running to stop Yumoto, they all have different expressions (Can't see Io's :(( ) The twins though, are horrified as they know if they get hit, THEY ARE DONE FOR! (It's finEEEE)
En's first thought is to grab Yumoto to try to calm him down somewhat by grounding him back to reality
Atsushi (just like a mom as Yumoto says about him) gently grabs Yumoto's face and tries to get him to look at him, while also shielding him from either himself or another attack from the twins. You can actually see him and Io pulling Yumoto closer to them
Ryuu and Wombat don't add much, BUT Ryuu does actually support Yumoto's head when they all fall onto the ground. Which Yumoto's head SHOULD be in Ryuu's lap (In theory).
As for the dark place? Yumoto probably experienced a severe form of tunnel vision along with the influence of his powers. IMO, He was so overwhelmed with the thought of losing his only family forever that he forgot about his found family as well.
adding to how Yumoto is being held, Ryuu seems to have Yumoto's forearms pinned, Io has his arms around Yumoto's chest, and En and Atsushi I CAN'T really see where they're grabbing at but it but it does show you even with their strength it takes all four of them to subdue Yumoto
And uhhh I think that's it really for this scene...for now... Once Yumoto remembers how he's loved by his friends and he's not alone, he transforms into his highest form to date :)))) also these frames of him are pretty lol this scene had a lot of gorgeous frames OKAY BYE!
I WANTED TO ADD MORE PICS BUT RAN OUTTA SPACE
I didnt fit ALL I wanted to talk about but ANOTHER TIME! OKAY BYE FOR REALSIES

Aziraphale's Flaming Sword
I'm working on a poem about Aziraphale's flaming sword and it got me thinking all about it, so here are my thoughts and findings!
First is looks: the hilt is surprisingly plain. It's not the intricate, ornate sword you might expect; instead it's more primitive, or ancient, by design. The pommel is rounded, and the hand guard curves upward around the base of the blade, resembling a cup shape, rather than a crossguard in a straight line. Actually, it resembles the handle of a torch, which is interesting. Torches give off light and symbolize guidance and enlightenment. An appropriate weapon for our angel, I think! Aziraphale is given the sword to help him guard Eden against... what, exactly? I've never really stopped to consider what the danger is supposed to be. Could it be the animals that live outside of the garden? After Adam and Eve are cast out, they're seen fighting a lion with the sword, and in his dialogue with Crowley, Zira mentions "vicious animals". If it's the forces of Hell, then he's not doing a very good job of it, (poor angel~) letting Crowley snake his way in with the whole apple business! And since it's a sword made of fire, would that even hurt a demon? Is it holy fire? Do angels have holy water AND holy fire, and if so, do demons have a "hellwater" equivalent?!?!? These are the real questions I need answers to!! lol
I wonder if instead it's supposed to match up with what's written in the Bible. An angel with a flaming sword is sent to guard the Tree of Knowledge AFTER Adam and Eve are cast out, to prevent mankind from re-entering the garden. The angel was supposed to stop humanity from returning to paradise! I didn't know about this detail! In the show I assumed Aziraphale was always stationed there to protect Eden, even before Adam and Eve were cast out! Was this Aziraphale's actual job? Was he told to go to Eden and guard the gate after the original sin? If true, I think this would imply he had only been in the garden for a short time by the wall scene in s1ep1. And then it would make sense that he didn't try to stop Crowley from tempting Eve if he wasn't even there to see it happen originally. He's called in to work after everything already went down (like a lead balloon). But he has empathy and takes pity on the humans, and by giving away the sword he deviates from the Bible's story. I think the way this scene is cut and edited it feels like all of these events are happening immediately one after another, as it is meant to serve as a summary of Genesis (we all know the basic story) when most likely there were moments in between, like God speaking to Adam and Eve about why they're hiding their bodies and, potentially, Zira's arrival at the garden. We see in a different scene later that Zira is patching up the wall, and God asks him about the sword being missing. How is he to defend the garden against humanity's return without his sword?
Moving onnn... This scene is an origin story for how humanity harnessed fire!! And Aziraphale is the one who gave it to us, to protect ourselves and stay cozy warm and cook our food!!!! That is so cool and it completely fits with his character!! I love that the flaming sword in Aziraphale's hands is a symbol of protection and self-defense, life and survival.
And then because it's been given away, given to humans, (who now have the capacity for both good and bad after eating the apple) after thousands of years the sword ends up in the hands of the horseman WAR. That's her key item to summon her for the impending apocalypse. It now represents how humans have control over fire; they've created gunpowder and artillery and war and violence and Earth-ending destruction.
But WAR is defeated by Pepper, using the same sword that now holds this duality in meaning. Pepper, "Pippin Galadriel Moonchild", the child of a hippie mother, or in a way, a child of PEACE, defending her world, protecting the lives of everyone on Earth. Ahh it's such a satisfying narrative circle, I love it!!!!
That's all for now! I totally paused my poem work to write all this out, so back to it!!

the magnus archives sentence starters. s1ep1-5 feel free to change pronouns as needed!
It is going to take me a long, long time to organize this mess.
I don’t count [name] as they're unlikely to contribute anything but delays.
I mean, I feel like I remember it clearly but sometimes things are so weird that you start to doubt yourself.
I suppose weird is kind of what you guys do, right?
Can I have a cigarette?
Writing it down now, it seems so obvious that something was wrong.
For some reason the thought of an anglerfish popped into my head, the single point of light dangled into the darkness, hiding the thing that lures you in.
They always gave me one of those looks, halfway between pity and concern, and I’d shut up.
Everything you’re thinking right now, you’re right.
Getting lost in the backstreets had kind of been what I was trying to do.
To be honest, though, I’m inclined to blame that on the drugs.
Was I to be looking after a corpse?
Something about having a mysterious coffin lying in my living room made me reluctant to make the sort of connections that might lead to people coming round.
I suppose it goes to show that you can get used to anything if you have to, no matter how bizarre.
I don’t remember my dreams, never have, and if I was getting nightmares, they were no different – I didn’t remember them and I certainly don’t now.
It’s funny how fear can just become as routine as hunger – at a certain point I just accepted it.
When the screaming started, I didn’t want to see who was screaming or why.
It’s always nice to hear that my hometown is not entirely devoid of odd occurrences and eerie stories.
I just had to do something to find a bit of interest in my life, and it was either that or become an alcoholic, so…
Apparently head wounds always bleed that much and it’s nothing to panic about.
Isn’t it funny, [name], how you can live so near and never notice. I’ll need to return the visit someday.
I just couldn’t look at it for too long. It seemed to open forever, nothing to do but fall into it.
I don’t know how long I walked for. It must have been hours, but it felt right, like it was all I could do.
Walking felt as natural as falling.
I was out of my depth here, but I had no idea what in.
Grant us the sight that we may not know. Grant us the scent that we may not catch. Grant us the sound that we may not call.
The sound when it happened was so loud that it drowned out his screams completely, but it was the smell that really stayed with me.
My mother doesn’t always know what’s best for our family.
If my luck thus far is anything to go by, then I’d say it is unlikely this was an isolated example.
As far as the rest of the world thinks about it, once it’s been thrown away, it’s gone, far beyond all human understanding.
I don’t think anyone believed us, or if they did they’d immediately try to top it with their own story of bizarre finds.
You were raised Catholic and never shut up about it.
I suppose some things are disconcerting however grim your interests.
Time generally makes people inclined to forget what they would rather not believe.

Guys if I don't speak I will lose my fricken mind so arcane s2 spoilerz
Under the cut there's spoilers so you are sabotaging yourself
So here is my view so far:
WOOOOOO KISSS BABY YEAHHH
Also also Viktor and jayce hug but like, my brother was just letting everything flap in the wind or what?
Also Jayce was not looking at Victor's abdomen or whatever
Jinx letting Silco go the way he taught her to? ALSO WATER SCENE AGAIN.
Idk if anyone caught this but ep1 had many references to like s1. For example, we start with chaos (war and stuff and death and stuff) an attack in piltover either involving Jinx or Vi, s1ep1, then we get water. (Silco "drowning") s1ep2, then suicidal Jayce (HE MAY HAVE NOT SAID ANYTHING BUT IT WAS IMPLIED.), jayce and caitlyn's relationship, parental figure dying. (Vander and Cassandra) s1ep3
WOODKID CAME BACK. AND I THINK I KNOW WHY...
Guns for Hire was a need call for Vi. To Ashes and Blood is a cry between 2 people who have fallen out. What do they have in common? The 4 siblings' spirits are in the fight and woodkid sings both songs.
I don't play LoL but the chanting part of the song is in Shurian which is a prayer to a goddess named Janna or Jan'ahrem who is the blue bird of the sea, storms fury, and the the symbol/spirit of wisdom and harmony. *which in this case, neither is happening!*
You can see many Zaunites looking towards a mural or shine of a woman with flowy hair, that's her.
For some reason, the more ambessa pisses me off, the more hot she becomes.
WHAT IS CAITLYN ON GUYS, SOMEONE STOP HER (I support her every step of the way]
Also Cait's dad :[
GANG THE ARCANE?? LIKE SPIDERVERSE AND STUFF. The arcane gets pissed when you use it for more than its intended purpose
Ngl I'd also lash out if my girlfriend's(LET ME DREAM OKAy) sister killed my mom.
Ngl we would never be here if Vi minded her own fawkin business.
Viktor is a kind of like a saviour or am I crazy? Like Jesus.
That Lil girl, that keeps chilling with Jinx, she's cute. :]
I think that's all my thoughts idk.
THE MUSIC SLAPSS. [I will give commentary when everything drops]
Here's what I want for Act 5:
Jayvik
Jayvik
JMelVik
Jayvik
Mel
Mel
Jayvil
Caitvi
Timebomb
but seriously, wanna know what I want?
I want act 5 to be ANGST so that act 6 can be fluff /j
Me rn:

Y'ALL NOT AGAIN
fucking "Rex Glass" and the episode "Man in Glass" AND NUREYEV EXPLAINING HOW HE CHOSE "REX" BC IT MEANS KING, AS IN CONTROL.
In s1ep1, Nureyev (Glass) talking about the meaning of names and what "Rex Glass" means to him:
Nureyev: "I take my name as a creed to live by: control your name, and you control yourself."
Juno: "It's a pretty thought, Rex. [I] Wish it were that simple."
LIKE HELLO??? SHATTER MY HEART AGAIN AFTER THE SIXTEEN TONS. Nureyev thinking he controls himself, and he can when he changes his name. He can disappear when he changes his name. But he loses some sense of control with Juno, let's himself relax a bit and let's Juno take charge of some things instead. On the flipside, he has no control with the people holding Slip Jackson — they know his name and are willing to use it as a weapon against him. He can't control his name here, so he can't control himself (looks at the line in which Juno says that they "stole his [Nureyev's] story" because Nureyev always thought he was doing something inconceivable and unique (therefore no one could understand his suffering), just to find out that he is one of maybe thousands in the same position all across the galaxy.
Not only does Man in Glass make Nureyev more transparent for us, Buddy, and even Juno, but also it highlights the back-and-forth struggle for Nureyev as he goes between choosing his names and yet yearning to hear Juno "call [him] what [he] used to."
He's breakable, here.
Y'ALL THE LITTLE CLUES ALL THROUGHOUT THIS SERIES HAVE ME GASPING. YALL AINT READY FOR THE SHIT COMING UP WITH WHAT BUDDY SAYS TO JUNO AND THEN JUNO AND NUREYEV IN S5. SO MANY PARALLELS.

I've begun watching Lost for the first time and so I am immediately thinking of a fma au
No like i just finished s1ep1 and im like
Oh damn they crashland on an island and that monsters got to be Envy
When that kid found those handcuffs immediate thought was like oh nice there's an escaped criminal on the island too. That could be Kimblee.
Have no idea who i want to be the doctor like the only canon doctor is dr marcoh or dr knox and both seem like the most boring protag choice so the doctor will have to be a side character . I could have the Rockbells be on the plane, too.
Roy Mustang as main character (woke up on the beach), was on the plane w his team (ie Hawkeye) transporting Kimblee. But Riza Hawkeye is nowhere to be found (already woke up in the jungle and started chasing after Kimblee)
Honestly i dont know whats up with the orange peel guy but hes weird as hell and i love him.
Pregnant lady obvs Gracia
The more i meet the cast the better feel ill get who can be who
I am super duper excited to be watching lost tho never saw a single ep (well a lie i saw one ep when i was like 8 i think it was the backstory for the orange peel guy because hes the only one familiar to me. I remember some sort of puzzle or game from the episode that i watched)
Edward is on the island. Maybe in the crash Alphonses seal got broke or whatever. Lets start this off w the boy absurdly traumatized from the get go.
