How else could HappyElements go about writing Ibuki?

Just a little exercise to see what else Enstars could have done with Ibuki besides what they're doing now. (This one is long!)

When it comes to putting Ibuki in another unit, its very debatable, but its not impossible. Below are just my own thoughts and I'll get into why I wrote this at the bottom.

So, units!

fine: Not the best. Writing-wise, I don't think it's impossible to fit Ibuki in... somewhere? But all in all, fine doesn't lend itself to a story that would make Ibuki's addition natural. Also, aesthetically, it doesn't seem up Ibuki's alley. While Eichi's actions in Okinawa could lead to an interesting conflict with developments for both parties which plays into real-life social issues, that depends on Enstars' ability to write it, which is currently in an unideal place. That being said, I am waiting for the day that Ibuki sues Eichi. Put your court skills to use!

Trickstar: Likely not. Again, like with fine, Trickstar's overall writing makes this difficult and unnatural. Maybe with a lot of pre-existing development where its made clear that he'll join, but otherwise, he's difficult to slot in Trickstar's current dynamic (and that's not even going into Trickstar's historical importance to its producers as being the four of them + Anzu).

Ryuseitai: Possible! Ryuseitai is currently in a directional shift + leadership shift, and Ibuki's addition plays well into this setup. Additionally, in Enstars, the pre-existing lore is that units must have 2 - 5 idols as a result of War-era imposed restrictions, and it would be interesting to see how that tidbit of worldbuilding holds up in relation to this idea. Ibuki and Tetora's interaction in Ibuki's Idol Story 2 also provides some idea of how Ibuki's inclusion would go, and the interaction also makes the inclusion less sudden. Though, if memory serves me well, he rejected being the leader of EsuPuri because it was child-like? or childish? Anyway, he might have similar concerns with Ryuseitai - or he could embrace his inner-child some more. Ibuki should watch Kamen Rider Geats.

ALKALOID: It can work! ALKALOID is in a bit of a lull writing-wise, and adding Ibuki could be just the thing to stir them up. Ibuki's personality + identity means that like each member, he is marginalized, but his narrative doesn't seem to be stepping on anyone's toes. He also seems more ambitious and energetic than the average member, which could be interesting. The points about Tetora made above also apply with Hiiro and Ibuki. However, how Ibuki would wind up in ALKALOID seems hard to determine, since they are weapons-but-not-really-anymore of StarPro. Unless Eichi takes interest in Ibuki? Plus, there are only 4 suits in a deck of cards. Guess we'll have to make up a fifth one... (Would Ibuki be "one of the kids" or would he be Tatsumi's grandchild? The world will never know...)

Eden: Highly unlikely. Unless Ibuki REALLY sweeps Ibara off his feet, its not happening. Eden also has an "it is the Four of them" atmosphere - and even if it didn't, I can't imagine Ibuki being the most comfortable in this setup. The aesthetics also aren't really for him. Maybe when you're older and more experienced, Ibuki...

2wink: How. (everything from this point on is a joke to be clear) In the twin unit? The 2 unit? Do we kick one of them out? Does Ibuki become a triplet? What's the thought process here? Where are we going from here? Is Ibuki the family therapist? Are we finally getting 3wink (thrwink... thwink...)?

Valkyrie: In Shu's words - Non. Writing-wise, this just wouldn't happen. Plus - and this really was the only way that I could word this - Valkyrie's freakisms are not for the weak of heart, and while I don't doubt Ibuki's tenacity, I'm not sure if he would want to be around these two for an extended period of time. The aesthetics also aren't tailored to him. Additionally, Shu's habit of calling Rinne a barbarian doesn't translate well here, and gets us into a situation with a lot of microaggressions and little to no resolution.

Crazy:B: There's a chance - if Lady Luck's in your favour. If any unit were to suddenly add a guy midway, it should be the rebellious unit, no? A unit that appeals to outsiders could also make Ibuki feel welcome as someone unfamiliar to Japan - or it could make him feel more isolated, but that depends on a lot of things. In their writing, Crazy:B has been focusing a lot on their interpersonal relationships lately, and Ibuki's addition might get them back into their greater theme of rebellion - or it could ruin what has been established about their interpersonal relationships, and we wind up going over the same song and dance when it comes to rebellion. Fans are also really fond of the Crazy:B dynamic now, so adding in another guy likely would not fair well. Then, same concern as ALKALOID - how would Ibuki end up here? Lady Luck'll have to be extra nice to Ibuki if he joins this unit...

UNDEAD: Hard to imagine. Honestly, I just couldn't visualize this one. In all fairness, Enstars' ability to integrate Kaoru and Adonis into UNDEAD's major arcs hasn't always been the most stable (see: HappyElements not using their names once in the original summary for UNDEAD's climax event) and Ibuki would likely get the same treatment, if not worse. Again, very hard to integrate Ibuki in writing-wise, and he would definitely be outright neglected. A shame, because while he might not be suited to UNDEAD as a unit, it's not as impossible to imagine his interactions with the individual members.

Ra*bits: Hmm... Ra*bits' recent attempts to mix "cute" and "cool" so as to stand apart from girl groups while still retaining their existing appeal gives a bit of room to work with. Ibuki's definitely a "cool" guy, so I imagine that he could teach them quite a bit - but it doesn't look like he gets much in return for now. Aesthetically, it bears for him the same problems that EsuPuri does. Again, that doesn't even go into Ra*bits as "the Four of them". Maybe if they develop a lot of interaction beforehand and clearly outline their future goal...

Knights: I have ideas (but Enstars might not)! With Esu formerly studying under Knights, do you have any idea how funny this would be? People were a bit peeved that EsuPuri and Knights had similar aesthetics, but introducting Ibuki into Knights then setting up Knights as their senpai + rival could be so fun, especially with a rivalry between Esu and Ibuki to mimic the older rivalries our protagonists had (Trickstar - fine, ALKALOID - Crazy:B). Like, the guy that dropped out of being leader, ultimately leading to you to become leader in his absence, is now singing and dancing with your senpai who are considered some of the best in the industry. Also, like with Ryuseitai, we get to poke at the worldbuilding that previously established that units cannot have more than 5 members. Please tell me you see the vision. (though I will concede that the aesthetics + goals of Knights don't scream Ibuki).

There's also something here that applies with some other units as well - which is that putting Ibuki in units where the leader is one of the younger characters in the franchise helps show off how pre-existing characters have grown. Since Enstars characters have been aged up a year 1-2 times, there's been quite a bit of growth for them, but people tend to be stuck with their impressions of when these characters were younger. EsuPuri + Ibuki can help show the growth of the younger characters by putting them into senpai positions, sometimes for the first time. So, for Knights, it means that Tsukasa would have a proper junior for the first time - which either leads to interesting developments for the Knights characters or neglect of pre-existing relationships.

Which is to say that a) we get to see Kasa-kun curbstomp a bunch of children and b) we get to see Kasa-kun realize that having an energetic junior isn't better than having energetic seniors.

Switch: Not the one. Can't really see Ibuki in this one for, as always, aesthetic and writing purposes. Additionally, SwitchPs have noticed that Sora doesn't get as much attention as the other two, which could go in two ways. 1) Ibuki and Sora become an in-unit pair akin to Natsume and Tsumugi, and their developing relationship allows them to battle this disparity in attention or 2) the lack of attention gets heightened, with either Sora, or Ibuki - or even both - being neglected.

MaM: Interesting. Madara and Ibuki both seem to be the independent type, and its noted that Madara isn't mindful of others when dancing in a group since he's used to being alone. Though, his experiences in Double Face must have changed that, and it would be interesting to see how he has changed since Double Face's creation - but if not written well, it could trivialize Double Face's history. On one hand, fans enjoy seeing Madara make friends, but on the other hand, Madara's choice of being solo has been quite the question, and Ibuki's addition might bury this worldbuilding away if not written well. It definitely has potential, but it has just as much potential to go awry. Ibuki could be Madara's lawyer instead I guess.

Solo: HappyElements, hire me and I will raise you to levels you could never fathom!

They could have made a whole show of it! Have Ibuki go from unit to unit where he's their understudy for the duration of the event and have him assess whether or not he wants to join! This would tie into the junior system in J-POP where idols pre-debut usually become backup dancers for other units, going on to do interviews, songs and other things to build up a reputation before debuting and using their now established fanbase to make a lot of dough! It would tie in so well to the idol-like direction that HappyElements is taking with 4piece!

It could have been such a grand event! Have them build up the hype over time, show off the pros and cons that Ibuki sees in joining a unit, and then when the time comes to announce his decision after months, maybe even years in real-life - pull the rug out from under everyone and have him go solo! And since going solo isn't allowed in-universe, have them confront the War-era rules that continue to affect idols! Let Ibuki challenge the idol rules that Eichi once established and mess with the system!

And if he were rivals with Esu? Imagine if he outperforms EsuPuri as a solo idol - that's gotta be a hit to Esu as a leader... Man...

and AKATSUKI...

The new AKATSUKI could have been "an idea of Japan that represents everyone" which acknowledges those beyond the Yamato. It could have recognized the diversity in Japan, and allowed for the "idea" of Japan to no longer be dominated by the majority - a unit that respects the people of Japan who are normally forgotten. An AKATSUKI were Ibuki's traditions are celebrated, not chiseled down.

Instead, Ibuki is being absorbed into "the traditional Japan" - a very different scenario from the above.

That's all from me. I have a little extra info below for the curious.

Why write this? It's not really related to your blog...?

Fair question. But for one, I think that we forget that writing is a part of HappyElements' problem of discrimination (but just one part). As people have mentioned for years with Adonis, its pretty clear that the message is that racism is bad - its just that in their writing, HappyElements reinforces the racism that it claims to be against, thus pitting themselves against their own message.

This is only exemplified more in the recent AKATSUKI event, but what I really want to address is fan reactions.

There's a bit of a rift growing now, particularly with AKATSUKIPs and IbukiPs

"If you were a real AKATSUKI fan, you would still recognize and support them as four."

"AKATSUKI is only ever three, the AKATSUKI with Ibuki in it is not who I grew to love."

"AKATSUKI fans are being so rude - there is no problem with Ibuki joining, and he deserves to be in a unit."

"Ibuki shouldn't be in this unit, and it hurts for me as his producer to see him here."

But here's the thing:

Fans are not the ones who created this situation, so why are they blaming each other?

Enstars did not write a good event for either AKATSUKI or Ibuki, frankly speaking. Even if you remove every incident of racism from Enstars, the writing quality is still bad. Even if the writing quality was good in this event, it would not change the imperialistic tones.

But this is not a dichotomy - HappyElements doesn't have to choose between making either AKATSUKIPs happy or IbukiPs happy. It could have written anything else, as I've demonstrated in my writing exercise above. Some fans have been theorizing about other units Ibuki could join, and some are rather amenable to Ibuki joining their own favorites! HappyElements chose the most divisive decision, sullied further by a slew of problems.

When the song Tenshou KAGETSU was first released, prior to the story release, there was a common sentiment in the comments:

"Let's hope for an event that will make us both [AKATSUKIP and IbukiP] happy!"

And their hopes weren't misplaced. It was more than possible.

HappyElements' choice is what made it impossible.

Wink Killer Chapter 1

Shinobu: *humming* hmmmhm~m♪

(I’m feeling so happy right now de gozaru~ To think that I’d be invited to such a large scale event featuring ninjas!)

(From what I’ve heard, the producer in charge strongly recommend me for it saying when it comes to ninjas I’m the one who comes to mind)

(Looks like my activities as a ninja idol are finally starting to pay off!)

(I really love ninjas, so it’d make me really happy if lots of people would come to love them too!♪ )

(If things like this keep up, I could create a ninja boom in the world…!)

(…..hold on, I shouldn’t be getting ahead of myself de gozaru)

(This is a one in a lifetime chance to showcase ninjas to a massive audience! I can’t afford to mess up de gozaru!)

(In order to make everyone fall in love with ninjas, I have to give them the best performance they’ve seen yet!)

Shinobu: (They told me to make full use of the stage in showing off the appeal of ninjas)

(So if I show off my cool ninja techniques, I’m sure everyone will develop an interest in ninjas!♪)

(I’ve previously done something similar on stage at a “Ryuseitai” show but…)

(I’m still inexperienced in planning something like that though…. Aha! First, I’ll do a bit of research de gozaru! )

[Scene change to Seisoukan Library]

Shinobu: (…. I came to the Library enthusiastically looking for materials but)

( there isn’t anything notable here in the new book corner de gozaru~)

(In that case… guess I have no choice but to pick and choose books that are worth looking into)

(Fortunately the books here are organized by genre so things should be easy to find….. right?)

???: *sigh*, what should I do….

Shinobu: (that voice…)

I was right, it’s Shino-kun!

Hajime: Ah, it’s you Sengoku-kun. It’s rare seeing you here at the library. Are you looking for something?

Shinobu: That’s right de gozaru! I got invited to perform at an event to show off the charm of ninjas!

I want to create an amazing performance to show off so that’s why I’m here in the library looking for anything I could use as reference material de gozaru!

I’m sure there’s books on stage production here, right?

Hajime: So that’s what’s going on. No wonder you seem extra cheerful today!

I’m pretty sure we have a book on stage production on that shelf over there. Shall I show you to it?

Shinobu: Really!? Then, I’ll take up on your offer de gozaru!!!

Wait come to think of it, Shino-kun weren’t you having some sort of trouble just now?

I heard you say “what should I do~” while you were crouched down!

Hajime: ehehe, you were listening?

It’s nothing to make a big deal of but…. Would you care to take a look behind this shelf?

Shinobu: Look behind? Is something there de gozaru?

Hmm, it’s pretty dark so I can’t see well. It doesn’t look like anything fell behind it….

Hajime: If you look carefully, there’s a strange symbol drawn on the wall that was hidden behind this shelf.

Shinobu: a strange symbol?….. ooooh you’re right! I see it now!

Hajime: I just so happened to discover while I was cleaning earlier.

I don’t know how long it’s been here, but I’m sure I would have definitely noticed it if it were from around the time when we first moved to Seisoukan.

I have a feeling this was drawn on pretty recently. This symbol looks too complicated for it to be mere graffiti so I was wondering whether or not to erase it.

Shinobu: hmmmm , looks like graffiti to me! So it shouldn’t be an issue to just erase it.

Hajime: Well, even if there were a reason behind this, you still shouldn’t be doodling on the wall. Shouldn’t they get a warning?

Maybe I should go around and ask who did this?

Shinobu: They might fess up if they didn’t mean any harm but……

Since this graffiti was drawn in a well hidden spot, couldn’t they have not wanted it to be discovered?

Hajime: You might be right~ *sigh*, I’d be easier to just erase it but… should I really?

Shinobu: …. Then how about leaving this issue to me de gozaru?

Hajime: You want me to leave this to you Sengoku-kun?

Shinobu: Yup! Using this symbol as my first clue, I’ll investigate who’s behind this graffiti!

Hajime: That’d be very helpful…! But first, would this book on stage production be useful?

Shinobu: I’ll pass on that for now. After I finish investigating this matter, I’ll come back to borrow it later de gozaru!

Anyways, as a member of “Ryuseitai” I can’t leave Shino-kun alone when I know he’s in trouble!

Hajime: fufu, I got it. Well then, if you would Shinobu-kun!

I’d love to help out but I have work scheduled after this……

Shinobu: Don’t worry about it de gozaru!

As a ninja, I’m familiar with investigations like this!

You can fully entrust this to me de gozaru ♪

alsooo im curious, what is aois relationship with other ryuseitai members? does she get along with everyone?

Aoi is close with Ryuseitai! They tend to get her more often, and later she becomes their proper producer. They act like a big family

Chiaki sees her like a really close friend, loves her to pieces and acts like a goofy big brother

Kanata is... well... we all know

Tetora likes to show off to her and she hypes him up in her own ways

Aoi oftens sits and spends time with Midori to let him relax and talk about things he needs to

And she treats Shinobu like her son! He sees her like a mom becauses shes extra nurturing with him ^^

Aoi gets along with everyone, actually, she really doesn't like disliking people. Thinks it's too much work to be a hater lol

Ensemble - 95: Comeback

Subaru: I don't know what kind of circumstances led to the transfer student appearing in an idol outfit but… Well, that surprised me.

[Read on my blog for the best viewing experience with Oi~ssu ♪]

Location: Soundproof Lesson Room

Subaru: I don't know what kind of circumstances led to the transfer student appearing in an idol outfit but… Well, that surprised me.

(Come to think of it, the president was talking about me and the others… about idols very passionately, but…)

(The transfer student didn't become a topic, almost as if he wasn't looking at her.)

(That's only natural. She only transferred in very recently and is still a beginner as a producer.)

(She knows almost nothing about idols. Until just a few days ago she lived in a different world from us. She had nothing to do with us.)

(To the president, she might have been insignificant. That's why they didn't keep an eye on her. The transfer student is the blind spot of the student council.)

(She holds a small possibility, one that that 'Emperor' overlooked.)

(But the transfer student isn't insignificant.)

(She looked over us as we fell apart, she looked at me as I was getting depressed.)

(And she must have thought that she had to do something.)

(That's probably why she went to ask advice from all kinds of people, Kiryu-senpai for example…)

(She had him make an outfit for her, and even though she looks embarrassed, she still properly changed into it.)

(She came up with an idea no one else would be able to to think of and decided to participate as the masked idol. She came running to help me.)

(I'm happy that she feels that way. No, I respect her.)

(While I was getting depressed and looking down, the transfer student was running around without giving up.)

(She looked at the future, she looked forward and advanced.)

(This isn't the time for me to sit still while holding my knees.)

(The star of hope is still shining!)

Hahaha, I wonder, why was I even depressed? Isn't that just stupid?

That's right, I'm not alone.

I just got depressed on my own and deluded myself into thinking I was all alone.

But there was still the transfer student.

Thank you. You reaaally moved me! I'm so happy that tears just came out!

Chiaki: Fuhaha ☆ You don't have the time to be crying, Akehoshi!

We don't have any time to waste until the DDD—from now on, we will be having intense training!

I want it to be a joint practice of RYUSEITAI and Trickstar. The more people you can practice with, the more ways you can practice, right?

Under the name of thanking you for letting us use this soundproof lesson room. It's too much of a waste to use such a wide room with only so few people.

I want you to let me meddle at least this much, Akehoshi.

I am your senpai, your club president and an ally of justice. Whenever you're troubled, I want you to rely on me without any restraint!

Tetora: Ahaha, though it's a nuisance to us who are being forced to go along with you, but Trickstar is the hero that defeated the hateful student council!

Well, you also defeated Taishou's AKATSUKI, so I have complicated feelings. Even so, I received hope from Trickstar!

I'm cheering you on. No, I want to fight with you! I won't let Trickstar disappear in a place like this!

Let's defeat the student council together and return justice to this school ♪

Midori: These guys are way too intense…

Why did I even become part of a unit like this…

Haaa, I'm depressed, I want to die…

Chiaki: Hey hey, what's wrong? You're not lively at all, Green. Raise your voice, light the fire of your soul!

Hard work, friendship, victory! A great victory and a great explosion! Hahahaha…☆

Subaru: Hahaha ☆

Even though I was depressed just a moment ago… I somehow just became really excited, it feels fun!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is my @valensemblestars gift for @shinobus-left-eye!

This was my first time writing Chiaki, so I hope he seems in character :) Enjoy!

Despite being in the industry of producing idols for a while, somehow the job still finds ways to be overwhelming. Ryuseitai has their biggest live show in a while coming up, and as their producer, it's your job to handle all of the paper. And there is a lot.

It was later than usual when you finished. You let out a small yawn as you walk back to the dorms. You and Chiaki had planned to hang out after you were done with work, and he was understanding when you said you were going to be late.

When you arrive at the dorms, you spend no time hanging around before getting in the elevator. Before you know it, you're on the second floor and walking over to Chiaki’s room.

You only have to knock once before the door swings open. Chiaki's shining grin greets you as he lets you into his dorm. It seems as though both Makoto and Adonis are both out of the dorm for the evening, leaving you and Chiaki some privacy.

“You're finally here!!” As soon as the door shuts, he wraps his arms around your shoulders in a firm hug, and you find yourself melting into the embrace. You wrap your arms around his waist in return, leaning your head against his chest and letting out a relaxed sigh.

No matter how many times you hug Chiaki, his warmness will always melt all of your worries away.

“Are you okay?” He asks, quieting down slightly.

You nod, not moving your head from where it lays on his chest. “Just tired. Today was a lot.”

“Did something happen? Or was it just busy?”

“Just busy.”

Chiaki nods before letting go of the hug. You barely have time to mourn the loss of his warmth before he grabs your hand and starts dragging you over to his bed.

“Well, I hope you're not too tired to continue watching Kamen Rider!” His voice goes back to its usual volume. He sits onto the bed, lightly dragging you onto it with him. You chuckle as he pulls out his his phone, opening up the platform the two of you watch hero shows on.

“I'm never too tired to watch shows with you, Chiaki.”

The two of you lay down under the covers. Chiaki sets up a pillow for his phone to sit on. Once it's all situated, he lays back, wrapping his arms around your torso.

You wrap your arms around his waist, leaning your head onto his chest. Your legs intertwine as the two of you watch shows together.

You're barely paying attention to the show, mostly paying attention to the sound of Chiaki's heartbeat next to your ear and the feeling of skin-to-skin contact with him.

After an episode or two, you let out a yawn. Chiaki chuckles, shifting slightly and turning off the show. He puts his phone away, you're too tired to notice where he put it. He then nuzzles closer to you. “Are you feeling better?”

“Yeah.” You smile tiredly at him. “Thank you, Chiaki. You're my hero.”

He lets out a hearty laugh, bringing you even closer to him. You're basically laying on his chest by this point.

You chuckle along with him. You feel your eyes getting heavy.

Chiaki smiles at you. “Sleep well!! I love you!!”

“Love you too…!” Your words are barely audible due to your sleepiness. Your eyes shut, and you fall into a peaceful sleep.

I have to think for this one, hmm... My favourite stories have to beee...

In terms of enjoyability, and attempting not to have too much character bias, not in any order. Boldened are absolute favourites!

-Daydream & Lionheart are my all time favourite pieces of ansta writing, with an emphasis on Daydream. Lionheart has at least three translations online. I'm planning on re-reading two of those again just to compare them. I love an unreliable narrator. Sena really has been Leo's living unreliable narrator the whole time he's known him, hasn't he? Blackbird was good on a writing standpoint, but felt like a desperate attempt to get people to like and be normal about Wataru & Eichi, as well as telling us what we already know. At the same time, it did provide more insight into their mentalities, at least. Clown, Crown or whatever it was called was really nice also. - Both original main stories which I think every average ansta fan should read regardless of their length, although, the ! one is certainly of it's time. EnBasic: Element, Marionette, Crossroad, Meteor Impact, Checkmate, (Sorry for no Rocket Show! we're gonna read it for my friend's birthday!) Showtime, Dragon Fruit (Note to all viewers: don't read Marionette alone & think you know anything about Ex-valkyrie. PLEASE!), Easter Night, EP:Link, Christmas Live, Starry Night Festival, Beasts, Human Comedy (people focus too much on the valkyrie side of this and ignore rabits and it is disheartening, even if I understand why, from producers of them, given that rabits is far more unpopular in comparison, unrightfully yet understandably so. But what of the rest?), Book Fair, Victoria, Liar's Idol, Rainbow, Eccentric, Pleiades Night, Wonder Game, Biblio, Blood Banquet, Butler Cafe, Shinsengumi, Bouquet of Desire, Devils, Horror Night Halloween, School Festival ☆ Tamayori's Haunted Dollhouse, uum... those are the only ones that come to mind. I've read about 2wink and ryuseitai but scatteredly. In another universe, I produce them. EnMusic: Date Plan, Motor Show, Tempest, Night Club, Conquest, Next Door, Hot Limit, Neverland, Feather Touch, Bogie Time, Merry Xmas, Antique Legend, Burning Azaleas, Shinsekai, Obbligato, Astraea's Atelier, Romantic ? Date, Myriad of Colors and Flowers, Shards of Time: Black, Cruise, Grand Slam (I know it sounds crazy. The shotabait foot fetish event. Yes. But it has so many fucking good parts, and the epilogues are some of my favourite things ever.), Portrait, Nighthead, Stormcloud FUMBLE, Poltergeist, Parallel World, Xday (best climax), Absolute (I'm reading it with my dearest friends & I like it a lot so far! But I haven't finished so I won't embolden it. Mixed feelings about Raison d'être but generally it's so good I really love it. ALTERED CHANGED MY LIFE & KILLED MY GRANDMA. Bite-sized mix of both: -Aira: Episode 1 (Idol story), Do The Norm ft. Midori & Chiaki (I love you Midori! I love Noritama), -Tsumugi: This Senior is Prone to Worrying, Switch's introduction: "episode one", (Tsumugi FS1) Blue Hour's Spinning Song, Tsumugi's FS1 4☆ Story which recently came out on Eng, the eating one, "Delicious Happiness" ft. Midori, Episode 1, 2 & 3 of his idol stories, Go Basking in The Sun 3☆ story ft. Rei & Ritsu. -Others: HiMERU stuff. Episode 1 Chiaki Idol Story, Hiiro Idol story 2 ft. Aira, Black Swan ft. Mika & Tsumugi. (Madara FS2) Fates and Feast, Natsume FS2 4☆ Story. The 3☆ where ex-fine play together, Rinne's FS1. MANY Yuuta idol stories & 4/3☆ stories, especially in relation to his growth & Rinne. I like a lot of Anzu's monologues in the novels. I love this Natsuhokke 3☆ story. I like the early idol stories in general honestly. Baah!

Fun fact, I watched the anime before reading anything. My first story after the main story was Easter Night :-) though already interested in them, it cemented my love for switchvalk & their parallels in a square or even a more convoluted shape, each pointing at each other. I really recommend people read 3 stars of their favourites, you can find them with ease if you look them up, especially if they're from popular units. There's a lot of Really Good stories I haven't read but know all the context to and just have to get to, and good stories I have read that I just haven't mentioned whether purposefully because I don't think about them that much or because they slipped out of my mind (or blended together, or I technically didn't read them and just know everything that occurs or read a livetweet thread and I don't want to say a story is my favourite when I haven't read it in full even if stuff I really love comes from it, or I have mixed feelings that are too mixed for it to be a favourite).

I really adore Ansta's writing in spite of all of it's flaws, that's why it's not easy for me to give a simple response. Thank you for the question, sweet thing!

Note: This is my first ever Kanata fic that was reuploaded from my old blog. Most of my Kanata fics follow the same premise where the reader is both an idol and producer alike her childhood friend, Ibara. However, this is not limited to just Kanata fics. Y/N will usually be an idol and producer/Ibara's childhood friend in my other fics too. When it comes to requests, then Y/N may just be an ordinary producer.

“Wow, he’s still extremely boyish.”

Kanata Shinkai x Reader ♡ Genre/s: Fluff, established relationship, she/her pronouns ♡ Word count: 796 ♡ Synopsis: You're an idol and producer at Cos Pro who is dating Kanata Shinkai of Ryuseitai!

You had a meeting with Cos Pro’s Ibara Saegusa today and decided to take the long route to get there. Ibara wouldn’t mind, would he? You were childhood friends with him after all.

Well, it wasn’t like you were late, but you didn’t want to be there too early. You, (Y/N), were a producer and solo idol at Cos Pro, so you were always booked. It got overwhelming after a while and everyone who worked with you noticed it, Ibara especially. That’s why he called you in for this meeting.

“How does he manage all of his idol activities and businesses all in one?” you wondered to yourself. “Why can’t I be like him…?”

You sighed and continued your route. Maybe you should just quit being a producer and just solely focus on your idol activities? But what if in the future, you’re no longer an idol? You still want to work. So, maybe you should just stay as a producer and quit being an idol? But you loved singing and performing on stage! You haven’t even sang on stage with Kanata yet!

Kanata, your lovely boyfriend. That’s why you haven’t quit being an idol. He was always so supportive of you and your dreams. He supported you when you were a producer, and he supported you even more when you were an idol. When you two were in your first year at Yumenosaki, you were an idol, yet a producer-in-training for the fun of it. That’s how you came to know the rest of the Eccentrics. You lead a busy life.

Speaking of Kanata, you noticed him splashing Kaoru with the water from the fountain he was currently drenched in. Kaoru screeched, “I still have a recording session!” and in response, Kanata laughed.

You smiled to yourself and approached them.

“Kanata, you’re in the fountain again?”

Kaoru was surprised by your appearance, “Oh, (Y/N), hello!”

Kanata grinned happily, whilst his arms had spread out for you to hug him, “(Y/N)! Come swim with me!”

You sighed, “I have a meeting in 10 minutes.”

But you embraced him happily anyway, stroking his fluffy, wet hair. “I need to go now actually.”

Kanata looked defeated.

“Will you wait for me though?” you asked.

“Of course,” he replied. “I’ll always wait for you. I don’t have anything planned today~”

“Okay, perfect!”

You grabbed his face and pulled him in for a kiss. Kaoru was startled and looked away, a tinge of jealously appearing on his forehead.

Kanata kissed you back immediately, and after a few seconds, you pulled away. You said goodbye to the two boys before heading inside.

Kaoru sighed and looked back at Kanata.

“You guys have changed. (Y/N) didn’t use to like doing PDA—”

Kaoru stopped speaking when he saw Kanata smile softly to himself. His fingers gently brushed his lips and his cheeks were sprinkled light pink too.

Wow, he’s still extremely boyish, Kaoru thought as a smile of sentimentally appeared on his face. It really did remind him of the times when you three were students at Yumenosaki, and how Kanata would always have his attention on you, wherever you went, whatever you did. He would always smile after you, his eyes filled with love and hope, something that has never changed. You were the only person that still gave Kanata those feelings after all these years.

Kaoru ruffled his friend’s hair. “I’m happy for you, you know?” he exclaimed. “Although I am a bit jealous, but obviously, the two of you were bound to happen…”

Kanata wasn’t paying attention to him anymore. All he was thinking about was you and what time your meeting would finish.

[Extra]

After the meeting, where you discussed all the possibilities of whether you should stay working as a producer, an idol, or both, you finally came to a conclusion — well, Ibara did — that you should just limit your producer workload. That meant you wouldn’t be getting the same workload as Anzu, so you’d be able to do your idol activities. And as Ibara had stated, “We’re both different people with different capabilities.”

You bid your childhood friend a farewell and rushed out of the building. You were looking forward to spending the rest of the day with Kanata.

And there he was, waving at you with a bright smile on his face, all dried up now too.

You smiled and ran up to him, arms spread out. He caught you into his embrace and twirled you around.

“Let’s go home!” he said.

Your fingers interlocked with his as he began to swing them joyfully. As you both walked together into the sunset, Ibara watched the two of you with a small smile on his face.

“Mhmm. I think they suit each other quite well…”
