The Strangers. Chapter 1. Movie Review.
Let’s quickly go over the 1st “Chapter” of one of the strangest mainstream film projects releasing this year. Lionsgate ordering a theatrically released reboot trilogy for horror home invasion property The Strangers. Shot back-to-back and Working as one complete story with the films themselves releasing at roughly 3-4 month intervals. That sounds ambitious, especially for a property that’s…

The Strangers: Chapter 1: Directed by Renny Harlin. With Ryan Bown, Matus Lajcak, Olivia Kreutzova, Letizia Fabbri. After their car breaks down in an eerie small town, a young couple is forced to spend the night in a remote cabin. Panic ensues as they are terrorized by three masked strangers who strike with no mercy and seemingly no motive.
0 notes
So yes we went to see the new horror movie the
prequel thing The Strangers: Chapter 1
Now I have seen the original movies and they
are pretty good so I was interested in going to
see this.
Being that this is a prequel of sorts being it
says "How the Strangers became The Strangers"
and I believe this is suppose to be the first time
they did this? The Characters do appear younger
the girls appear Teenage and "Bagman" (that is what I call him)
is maybe late 20s? So i think maybe this is set up to
of course be their first time doing this.
Now the basic movie is this couple
Maya (played by Madelaine Petsch)and Jeff (Ryan Bown)
are are doing a road trip to celebrating their anniversary
and they end up in this little town and their car brakes
down and are forced to stay over night at a Airbnb
cabin on the edge of town while the car gets fixed
and they are set upon by some masked intruders and
have to fight for their lives.
that is pretty much it. This one is very similar
to the original movie I wouldn't say it was a
remake but I do feel that that there was some
similar things that happened.
Now one of the main things about horror movies
is never get off the main road! and this movie
is a perfect example of what happens when you do! lol
if they didn't get off the Highway they wouldn't
have ended up in the town and wouldn't have
met the Strangers! remember never get off the
main road lol!!
Now the scene after they left the dinner
and the car wouldn't start and Jeff (Ryan Bown)
feels that it was tampered with I kinda had to
agree with him during that scene I did feel that
it was kinda sketchy like them being stranded there
did feel like a bit of a set up and I wouldn't
be surprised if that mechanic guy did do something
to the car. I just found that whole thing suspicious
that there was suddenly something wrong with the
car and the hotel was conveniently unavailable
and they were pretty much pushed into this
specific cabin in this specific location lol
but Yes they almost got into a crash on
there way into town which was blamed for the car
troubles but like I said I wouldn't be surprised
if something was done to the car while they were
in the dinner.
but other then that I thought the movie was
pretty good I enjoyed it. There was a few
good jumps in it but other then that it wasn't
overly scary. The main thing that I think really
bothered me was when the couple was trying to
escape the cabin by going through
the crawl space and Maya (Madelaine Petsch)
puts her hand on a rusty old nail
and it goes right up thought the top of
her hand. So yeah everything else going on
and that is the thing got me the most lol
but yeah over all I thought it was a pretty
good movie if you like the previous ones
you might like this one. at the end it
said "to be continued" so I'm interested in
seeing part 2
also don't get up when the movie ends
there is actually a mid credit scene!!
all the people got up and left as soon
as it said "to be continued"
but me and the people I went with
we usually don't go until the credits
actually roll so we were waiting and then
mid credit scene happens and we were the
only people left in the theater to see it
so don't leave to quickly if you go to
see this.

Actor Ryan Bown reveals the important lesson Everything I Know About Love teaches us all
It’s often said that your 20s are the best time of your life, and while there is some truth to that statement, Everything I Know About Love also shows your 20s for what they really are – messy, unexpected and heartbreaking.
The coming-of-age series is based on Dolly Alderton’s best selling 2018 memoir. It follows four best friends living in a London share house as they try to navigate love,…

Review Harry Potter and the cursed child cast 4, 08th December 2019
On Sunday 08th December I saw Harry Potter and the cursed child in London (Palace theatre) for the third time and as I did it for every time I went so far I wanted to give a review of the London year 4 cast as I did for the year 1 and 3 cast in case anyone is interested.
Overall I have to say that I enjoyed the show a lot more than last time and I overall prefer cast 4 over cast 3. I saw a lot of understudies on Sunday and that can really help to make a show feel more fresh and exciting. I explained in my last review why I couldn’t enjoy cast 3 as much as I hoped to and all of my issues were totally fixed by cast 4. It’s such a great cast and everyone involved made this a really wonderful and beautiful show. It was really worth it seeing the show again.
I think I don’t have to go into detail why I love this show with it’s story, staging and characters in my third review as nothing has changed about my passion for this show, so I will limit this review mostly to the cast.
Before I still want to say some sentences about the new changes that were adapted from Broadway in cast 4. First the wand dance scene now has a new choreography, which I really didn’t mind at all. I don’t have a really good memory with dances so I probably wouldn’t have noticed on my own. Second the scene in the wizard retirement home has a new staging. I think it’s a little less exciting than the old one and less stuff is happening so for me it’s not really an improvement. I didn’t really mind it either though. There also were some minor costume changes, nothing really important though.
So to the cast:
Harry Potter – Jamie Ballard
As Jamie is still in cast 4 I had the pleasure to see him again for the second time. This time I was well prepared for his Harry and didn’t need any time getting used to him. It was a delight to see his name on the cast board and he certainly didn’t disappoint. I still love his Harry with all my heart. He has the ability to make people feel very sorry for Harry, but he still has the explosive aspects of Harry’s character. Last Sunday he was truly on fire and even more playful than usual. I think he really had fun working with so many understudies and it brought him to try out some new things with his character I didn’t notice last time. At the beginning of act 1 his Harry is so overly excited and playful, and his excitement is used by Harry as some sort of barrier to protect himself when he is nervous. This really showed in the blanket scene this time and it made Harry’s attempt to bond with Albus even more honest and desperate. This playfulness also carries on in the other acts especially with his interaction with James’ Draco. Their constant banter and teasing were simply hilarious and only strengthened my opinion from the last review that Jamie and James have amazing chemistry as Harry and Draco. This time even more than before. He also plays Harry’s emotional scenes so well and this time I could see him as book Harry a tiny bit more than last time. His Harry still feels unique and wonderful and I’m really glad I had the chance to see him again.
Ryan J Mackay – Albus Severus Potter
As the main cast for Albus (Dominic Short) was away on Sunday I saw his understudy Ryan. To be honest at first I was a little bit disappointed because I really wanted to see Dominic as Albus, but after the show I’m really happy I saw Ryan. I would describe his Albus as quite soft and not as angsty as I usually like my Albuses, but in comparison to Joe’s Albus it worked very well with Ryan and I enjoyed the differences in his interpretation. He was a good mixture between introverted and sad with a right amount of angsty and leadership. I liked that his Albus was more introverted and sad around his father, especially in act one, but got more confident and extroverted being around his best friend Scorpius. It really fits to Albus‘ character as he never really can open up to Harry at the beginning and can be himself around Scorpius. In the blanket scene he looked very miserable and more hurt than angry. His Albus was still angry, but it wasn’t totally explosive and Albus felt more sad and deeply hurt in this moment. I think it actually worked quite well with Jamie’s Harry and it was a joy to watch as the blanket scene is one of my favourite scenes in the play. In general Ryan had good chemistry with Jamie and they worked well together on stage. After the time-turning events he looked devistated in the dorm scene with Harry as if he was accepting the blame and it was very hard to watch his Albus so defeated and miserable.
Ryan also had great chemistry with Jonathan’s Scorpius. What I really missed between Jon and Joe last time I got here to 100%! A lot of touchy Scorbus, they were constantly all over each other, always touching and clinging to one another. It shows that this Albus and this Scorpius are very comfortable around each other and don’t hesitate to physically touch, which made my Scorbus heart very happy. The hugs were simply adorable and even more touchy than the rest of their interaction. You could really see the affection between these two boys no matter if you look at it as platonic or romantic. It also showed in Albus behaviour as I explained above and he gets rather confident when he’s with Scorpius, so the line about him being a leader really fits to Ryan’s Albus. As a more soft Albus he was very good to make the audience understand what Albus is going through and why he is doing what he is doing.
There isn’t a lot of negative things I could say about him, but I do think he could do a bit more in the library scene. He looked very sorry with his dad in the dorm scene and I missed that a little bit in the library scene with Scorpius. Maybe it’s because Jon acted his little heart out that Ryan faded a bit in comparison and his library scene really wasn’t bad at all, I just missed a little bit more like he did in the rest of the play. No big deal though. He also struggled with some lines in act 4, but he saved it really well and as an understudy it’s totally understandable. It’s a mystery to me how one actor can remember so many lines of different characters to begin with. When Dom is there Ryan normally plays Albus‘ brother James and Cedric, so he has to remember these parts of the show and always be ready to go on as Albus. I have an never ending respect for what Understudies and swings do in theatre. So his messed up lines are easily forgiven and actually were quite funny. I hope Dominic stays on for another year so I get a chance to see his Albus too, but for now I’m very happy to have seen Ryan as Albus and he surely is a talented actor and a great Albus.
Jonathan Case – Scorpius Malfoy
As for Jamie Jon also stayed on in cast 4 so I had the absolute pleasure of seeing his Scorpius again. It’s actually a miracle he was there as the days before he was sick and his understudy Luke was on. I was quite surprised when I saw his name on the cast board as I expected to see Luke, but it was a pleasant surprise any way. I would also have loved to see Luke, but seeing Jon is always a pleasure as he still is my favourite Scorpius. I felt a bit bad for Jon as he sounded a bit sick and coughed a few times and I hope he got rest after the show, I’m still very happy he came to the show anyway. I talked a lot about how perfect his Scorpius is in my last review and I still approve of every single thing I said. He is the perfect, most adorable Scorpius I can imagine and it’s a priviledge to be able to see his Scorpius twice. He was even better than last time and really gave the emotional scenes his everything. The office scene with Draco was simply wonderful and his Scorpius got a lot more angry and passionate than last time. The library scene was even more heated than I know of him and he was simply on fire last Sunday. I think having another Albus really helped Jon to shine even more and bring out the best of him as an actor. His chemistry with James‘ Draco was still amazing and there really isn’t anything bad I can say about his performance. If it would be up to me he could very happily stay on in the cast for a long time.
Susan Lawson-Reynolds – Hermione Granger
On Sunday there were a lot of understudies and Susan was no exception. I just want to say that I loved her Hermione so much. Since Noma no actress really felt like Hermione to me, but Susan just nailed it. Like Noma she has this great authority on stage by also being gentle, calm and loving. Her Hermione is such a strong leader and still a gentle loving wife and friend. She combined everything I love about Hermione in cursed child and I couldn’t be happier to have seen her. Ronmione was amazing too! Like Scorbus Ron and Hermione were very touchy and all over each other especially in the opening scene, it was simply adorable. Noma and Paul always had such great chemistry I really missed last time, but this time Susan and Thomas fit together so perfectly and you could see the sparkle and the affection in their marriage. I also adored her chemistry with Jamie’s Harry and Emma’s Ginny. Their friendship felt so warm and comforting. I think due to all the father son issues in the play the friendship part between the adults and the golden trio can get a bit lost, but this time I could really feel it and it reminded me so much of their friendship in school in the books. She and Emma even hold hands in one scene and it was such a nice comforting thing to do and it really highlighted Ginny’s and Hermione’s friendship in the play. The only sort of negative thing I would have to say is that she struggled a bit with the magic in the polyjuice scene and the telephone box scene, but just like with Ryan I think it’s totally understandable. Of course she isn’t as smooth at the magic like the actors who do it a lot more often and don’t have other roles to remember. It really didn’t bother me much. I really don’t know what more to say about her except that she is amazing and I hope she will become a lead somewhere at some point. Her Hermione is strong, loving and funny and I’m so happy I could see her Hermione.
Thomas Aldridge – Ron Weasley
Seeing Thomas is always a pleasure. I already wrote a lot about his Ron in my last review and I still love him just as much. He is so funny and hilarious but still manages to show how comforting and what a great friend and husband Ron is. As I already mentioned he had great chemistry with Susan and it made the office block scene even more hilarious. At the end of it they weren’t gently fighting like normally, no, I would more describe it as violently wrestling on the floor. It was just amazing and funny to witness. His banter with James‘ Draco was also hilarious and I think due to so many understudies the remaining main cast members really gave it their all. There just isn’t anything bad I could say about him no matter how hard I would try. He is just amazing and I love him and Ron with all my heart in cursed child. I think Ron’s character is so often overlooked in cursed child and doesn’t really get enough credit that he deserves for being such a supporting husband and friend. It really takes dedication to give up your own dreams and career to give your really busy minister of magic wife a chance of a family and a chance to have kids. He may come across as comic relief in some scenes, but I think his jokes are so important to keep everyone else (really intense people) like Hermione and Harry from getting mad. He balances their worries and intenseness and always tries to lighten the mood for his friends when they feel really down and nervous. I think that’s a great quality of Ron in cursed child and Thomas is just so well at showing it. With him it never really feels like comic relief, you can always feel how much his friends mean to him and why he is doing it.
James Howard – Draco Malfoy
A lot of actors from the main cast stayed on in cast 4, so I could also see James as Draco a second time. What can I say, he just is the perfect Draco. I even loved him more this time than last time. Like Jamie he was simply on fire and much funnier and much more of a brat than last time by still keeping his elegance and Malfoy behaviour. He perfectly combined everything I loved about his Draco and the things I loved about Alex‘ more playful Draco and it was just glorious to watch. He really tried some new stuff especially making fun of Harry (I really don’t know what was going on with Jamie and James backstage but it was hilarious to watch them play off of one another all the time). Their chemistry on stage is just something very special and it really makes their scenes together so much more enjoyable.
The kitchen fight scene was just perfection, it was so much more funny than last time and you could see how much fun they were having. When Ginny enters the room again after they stopped fighting both James and Jamie looked like children who were caught trying to steal cookies from the kitchen and Jamie even hid his wand behind his back like a guilty five year old. It was the most hilarious thing I saw this evening. Even his serious scenes were even more heartbreaking than normal. His talk about Astoria never fails to break my heart and I’m always surprised what an amazing actor he is. He also has such great chemistry with Jonathan and I love their father son interaction. Their hug at the end was also slightly different from what I remember. Now it’s not Scorpius that runs to Draco and stops before Draco says we can hug too if you like“, now it’s Draco that runs towards Scorpius almost chasing him to the edge of the stage and then stops in front of him before he says his line and then Scorpius hugs him. It was sort of funny as Jon’s Scorpius looked really terrified for a moment being chased by his dad before he realized his dad just wanted to hug him. The only word I can use for his Draco is perfect, just perfect.
Emma Bown – Ginny Potter
I’m saying this a lot this time, but yay another understudy! Seeing Emma’s name on the cast board made me really happy, mainly because as explained in my last review I’m not the biggest Susie fan and seeing another Ginny is just so exciting. I really liked her Ginny and definetly like her more than Susie’s version. She was very sweet but also fierce and showed a lot more emotions. I like how she gave her Ginny more personality by adding hand holding with Hermione and jealous Ginny in the scene with Myrtle and Harry.
As stated above she had good chemistry with Jamie’s Harry and their marriage was believable although they still couldn’t reach the chemistry level of Jamie and James. I also loved her with Thomas‘ Ron, they had a very sweet brother-sister relationship, which I never really noticed before with any Ginny actress. Beside all the other really amazing actors she stayed a bit in the backround, but overall I really liked her. She didn’t do anything super new with the role, but that’s not required to be a great Ginny and be enjoyable to watch.
Rachelle Diedericks – Rose Granger Weasley
Another understudy (there were so many understudies yay) and I simply loved her Rose. I actually think she is my favourite Rose so far. The dialouge sounds so natural with her and not too much at all. Her Rose is very fierce but I could also understand what Scorpius sees in her. Her Rose seems really lovely and almost adorable but still very desperate to get attention and being popular. Rose isn‘t my favourite character but with Rachelle I really liked her as a character, so she did a fantastic job.
Madeleine Walker – Delphi
To make my opinion quite straight from the beginning: from all the Delphi’s I saw until now Madeleine is definetly my favourite. Most Delphis are just way too over the top when they play evil in the end and it mostly limits my enjoyment of Delphi as a character. Madeleine played evil Delphi much more subtle but still very threatening and I loved it. Even her good Delphi was the best I have seen till now. She was so sweet and funny and had a great quirky personality, I would have loved her Delphi so much as a character if I wouldn’t have known what was to come. Her chemistry with Ryan was also really great! I felt so bad for Albus, it was so easy to fall for her Delphi so the reveal at the end hit even harder.
The supporting cast
Cast 4 is really great overall, there wasn’t a single actor on stage I didn’t approve of. There also were some understudies in the supporting cast (James, Polly, Dumbledore, Myrtle) and all of them did a great job. All of the actors did amazing and seeing David Annen’s Snape again made my day just perfect. Also special mention to David Mara who did such an amazing job as Dumbledore/Amos Diggory, it was great seeing another version of this character as until now I saw Barry in both previous shows.
Conclusion
Watching cursed child is always such a pleasure and this time everything felt perfect and like it all fell into place. The things that I struggled with last time were no issue at all, the show felt a lot less rushed and felt very natural and fresh. This play is just so wonderful and the palace theatre is so beautiful. I would highly recommend seeing cast 4 as they are absolutely amazing. So if you have the chance, do it! If you are in London you really also should give the theatre cafe a visit, for theatre fans it’s such a nice place to be and they freshly moved and renovated and it’s very lovely. They even have a cursed child corner now with the wands from the play (which you should really buy because they are stunning and feel very high quality). The magic of cursed child just never seems to disappoint.

Broken Bones IV // H.S.
PART 1 PART 2 PART 3
He knew something was up when Ryan met him at the door.
"Harry, right?" He asked before letting him in.
"Yeah, is everything alright?"
"It's a bloodbath up there." He shook his head. "She had been coming to get you when all the doctors were called in, apparently a bridge collapsed and there's a lot of injuries."
"Why aren't you up there?"
"I was just clocking out when they all were summoned, I have to go get changed again and everything. She ran into me and told me I should come get you so you weren't sitting out there forever."
"Where am I supposed to go?" He asked.
"Waiting room, she'll come get you if you're still there when she's done and something tells me you will be."
He winked and walked off, leaving Harry at the door to the waiting room. He opened it up and was instantly met with panic. There were injured patients and crying family members everywhere. Doctors were running around trying to assess people's needs. He noted, somewhat proudly, that Y/N was not amongst them, she would be in surgery saving people.
Harry took a seat as far away from the chaos as he could, not wanting to be in the way. He wanted to help but he had no idea what he was doing, the only thing he could do was wait for Y/N to finish and be there in whatever way she needed.
There was a constant influx of patients, all sporting serious wounds for the next hour, and all the non serious injuries were pushed to the back of the line, they didn't mind.
There was a man crying a couple chairs down from him. He looked a little worse for wear, a couple nasty bruises on his legs and an oddly shaped arm.
"Anything I can do?" Harry asked before he could stop himself. Someone he loved was probably dying back there, what could Harry do to help him.
"Can I borrow your phone?" The man choked. "Mine got crushed in the accident."
"Of course." Harry handed him his phone. "Take as long as you need."
The man nodded, dialing up a number. Harry blocked the conversation out, not wanting to intrude. Not that he would have been able to discern much through all the crying.
"Thank you." The man tapped on his shoulder, handing him his phone ten minutes later. "Thank you so much."
"Of course." He gave the man a small smile. "I don't know how much this will help but my friend is back there, working on people, maybe even the person you brought in, and they're in the best possible hands."
The man nodded, lip quivering. "My wife and son." He choked on a sob. "They were on the side that got hit. Oh my God." He cried.
"They have their best chance here." Harry patted him on the shoulder.
The man nodded, putting his head in his hands and trying to control his breathing.
The waiting room was devoid of all patients in the next hour, filled with anxious people waiting for news. Harry felt somewhat out of place in all the grieving. But he figured Y/N would need someone when it was all done and he was determined to be that person.
After another small chunk of time doctors started coming out, reading names off clipboards. Some people got taken back to see their healing loved ones, some were told to stay but that things were looking good, and the unfortunate ones were told what no one wanted to hear.
Harry was going to go for a walk when a doctor called a name and the man next to him head shot up. And the doctor was Mia.
"Are you Mr. Bown?" She asked.
The man nodded, fear written all over his face. "Your son wants to see you now, your wife is still unconscious but she is expected to make a full recovery."
"Thank God." The man cried, although they were tears of joy now.
"Harry." Mia nodded to him before leading the man to what he thought would be the happiest moment of his life.
It was 2:17 when Y/N finally came out. Her eyes flickered across the people in the waiting room until they landed on Harry. She looked exhausted but she tried a tiny smile at him, one which he returned.
He went towards her when she jerked her head, wrapping an arm around her when they were on the other side of the door.
She practically fell into his embrace, arms tight around him. He squeezed her back, kissing her head.
"How are you?" He asked into her hair.
" I've been better. " She mumbled into his chest.
He smiled slightly. "Is it over?" He asked.
"Not really." She sighed leaning back. "I was supposed to get off two hours ago from a 24 hour shift, they're sending me home."
"Isn't that good?"
"Kind of." She shrugged a little. " I'm too tired to think straight anymore and all the immediate surgeries have been performed but they need people elsewhere. "
"When do you have to come back?"
"Noon, for however long they need me. '' She sighed, unwrapping one of her arms.
"You should get home, get some rest." He told her, walking with her to the elevators. She popped into a room, coming back out with her purse.
" I don't want to sleep alone. " She looked at him, a vulnerable look in her eyes.
"I can come with you." He offered. "I'll drive you there and drop you off on my way home, I don't think you're in any condition to drive."
"I don't want you to feel like I'm forcing you too." She sighed, pressing the down arrow. " I've been doing this long before I met you. "
"I want to." He dropped a kiss on her forehead. "Let me do this?"
"On top of sitting in a waiting room for no reason with a bunch of crying people imagining the worst of the situation?" She raised her eyebrows.
"Come on, give yourself some credit. You're a good reason."
She smiled, turning her head away. "Let's get out of here, I'm going to crash."
"Piggyback ride?" He asked, completely serious.
She looked like she was going to say no when she nodded. He gave her his back. She jumped on, laying her head on his shoulder.
"You're the best person I ever met." She muttered into his shoulder.
"Funny, I think the same thing about you."
He felt her smile even though she couldn't feel his. He walked out of the elevator, through the hospital, and to his car. She was half asleep on his back, so tired that he had to buckle up for her. He didn't mind of course.
Pandora sleep station came through his speakers as he hooked up his phone. It wasn't really helping him stay awake but sacrifices.
He pulled into her apartment complex only two wrong turns later. She is completely gone now. Head dropping to the side. Normally he would have just carried her in but he knew she would regret not showering in the morning.
"Love." Shit, where'd that come from? "You need to wake up so you can take a shower."
He rubbed her shoulder, shaking her until her eyes opened.
"What?" She rubbed her eyes.
"We're at your place."
She nodded, moving to unbuckle her seatbelt and get out of the car.
"Thanks for this." Y/N looked over at him as they walked up her stairs.
"My pleasure." They walked through her door. "Now go shower."
Y/N nodded, heading to her bathroom. He followed her, he had never been in her room before.
It matched the rest of the house. White walls, dark curtains, and a gray bedspread. Her pillows were all different shades of blue. She had a large window seat with white and gray sheets and blue pillows and blankets. He figured it was safe to assume blue was her favorite color.
He laid on her bed, listening to the water run from the shower. It didn't take long for her to finish, shorter than his showers.
"Do you need something to wear?" She asked, stepping out of the bathroom, hair still dry, in nothing but a sports bra and shorts. She had a tattoo on the side of her rib cage and words snaked under her bra. Her freckles were on full display and he had a problem ripping his eyes away.
"You have something?"
"Luke spends the night sometimes." She shrugged, motioning for him to follow her to the other bedroom.
Her back was open to him, showing off her spine tattoo. There were words all the way from the bottom to the top but he couldn't read them. He had never found tattoos so attractive before. He wanted to figure them out, learn their meanings, and trace them with his fingers.
She handed him a pair of sweatpants. "These good?"
He nodded. "Perfect, thanks."
"You can change here then." She shut the door on her way out.
He did that, taking his shirt off to reveal his own tattoos.
He left his clothes folded on the bed and went back to Y/N's room. She was under the covers, fan on and light off. He slid in beside her and she rolled over so she was facing him.
"If you're not careful I'm going to get used to you doing things for me." She gave him her hand over the covers. He took it, mixing his fingers with hers.
"I'll keep it up then." She smiled. "Now go to bed, you've got to save lives when you wake up."
Harry leaned in to kiss her temple, she looked like she was already sleeping. He watched her until he fell asleep, memorizing the curve of her nose and the freckles on her cheeks. She was beautiful, really. And he was falling hard and he didn't want to stop.
When he woke up his clothes were on the bed next to him, a note and key on top of them.
I was going to wake you up but I figured it was the least I could do for you. Mia picked me up on her way so don't think you inconvenienced anyone by sleeping in. Thanks again for taking care of me, you're honestly the best. Lock up when you leave, I'll pick them up when I come by for a redo of last Tuesday on Tuesday?
- Y/N
P.S. I like the tattoos
He buried his head in her pillow, trying to contain his smile. It smelled like her so it didn't help. He thought that maybe she was falling hard too. God he hoped so.
_______________________________________________________________________
"Am I going to meet her this time?" Gemma asked, sitting with him on the couch. Drake had gone home a couple days but she had elected to stay here and even he wasn't dumb enough to pick a fight with her two brothers present.
"You should." He shrugged, keeping an eye on his phone. "She's pretty spontaneous if you hadn't noticed."
"I have." Gemma laughed. "How long was her shift this time?"
"Uhhh." Harry shut his eyes, thinking. "I don't know actually, she visited her mom on Sunday and she was texting me all yesterday morning so I'm going to assume 12 hours."
"Wow." She whistled. "I could never do that."
"I know." Harry grinned as a knock on the door rang through the house. " She is pretty amazing isn't she. "
Gemma watched him go, a funny smile on her face. It was good to see her brother like this again, for a while it felt like she had lost a brother.
She heard his laughter after her voice and she thought she already loved the girl for getting her brother back. He sounded almost normal now.
And then Y/N was walking through the kitchen and towards her, smiling back at Harry who was laughing at her. She thought that maybe he was already a little in love, he just didn't know it yet. And looking at Y/N, she thought that maybe it was mutual.
"Gemma, this is Y/N in her non doctor form." Harry sat on the couch next to her, pulling Y/N down so she was sitting next to him. His hand was still wrapped in hers, their fingers tangled.
"It's so nice to meet you slash see you again." Gemma smiled at her.
"You too." Y/N smiled back, tucking her legs underneath her.
Harry's phone rang from the kitchen.
"Who calls someone after midnight?" Gemma asked him.
"Probably Jeff." He shrugged, getting up and going to answer it, leaving Y/N and Gemma alone.
"Hello." He answered, he had been right, it was Jeff.
"Hey man, are you free for a gig on Friday?"
"Yeah." He ran his hand through his hair, no matter what he wouldn't be wrapping the cast back up on Thursday. He hoped it was healed. "What is it and what time?"
"9 o'clock and a charity concert for that bridge collapse." He paused. "Did you hear about that? "
"Yes." Harry reassured him. "I'm getting the cast off on Thursday."
"Alright, I'll text you more details before it comes."
"Where is it?" He asked, he wasn't in the mood to go very far.
"Downtown, so not very far. Thank goodness you are going to have that cast off."
"Well your prayers have been answered by a little doctor."
"Oh yeah." His voice sounded different, much lighter. "I heard about the girl who's got you enamoured lately, had I known that all it would take to get you smiling again is her I would have introduced you a long time ago."
Harry laughed. "I wish you would have."
"Alright," he laughed, "bye Harry, see you Friday."
" Bye. " he hung up, making his way back to the living room.
"Seriously?" Gemma's voice reached his ears, laughter evident in it. "And he thought you would still want to date him."
" I know. " Y/N laughed back. "And I'm like you literally fuck every girl with a vagina and suck every guy with a dick and I just interrupted you in a closet with someone going down on you, why the heck would I say yes?"
Gemma's laugh boomed through the hallway. "Even his name is creepy, like Ryan, it gives me the chills! "
Ryan asked her out? Just another reason to hate him, he guessed.
His seat had been taken, Y/N had moved over. He squeezed in on her other side, smiling as they barely noticed his return. He had never thought it would be an important thing to him, his sister and whoever he liked getting along with, but looking at the two made him extremely happy.
Her hand found his and he grabbed on to it, tuning his way into the conversation.
"Worst date you ever went on?" Y/N asked, leaning back so she was resting on his shoulder.
"Ugh." Gemma groaned, leaning so she rested on the arm rest facing the two. "I was like 21 and it was my junior year of college and this broke ass college student took me for cheap gas station food and I spent more time on the toilet than with him."
Y/N laughed. "That's terrible."
" I know and then he asked if I wanted to take it back to his dorm and I was like, no, my friend's coming to pick me up. "
She laughed harder, throwing her head back. "That's gold."
"Why is your species so disgusting?" Gemma asked him.
" Hey. " he shot her a glare. "Don't bring me into this."
Gemma snorted. "Yeah, you used to be worse, he used to be like Ryan."
Y/N laughed, and to his relief it sounded genuine. "So there's hope for the bastard yet."
" I thought you liked Ryan? "
She shrugged. "He's alright when he's not talking."
He laughed, shaking his head at her. "You're something else."
"Thanks." She looked over at him, a grin on her face.
"You're welcome." He said, his voice soft.
"So." Gemma asked, "What did Jeff want? "
"I have a gig on Friday apparently."
"So no matter what your cast is coming off Thursday?" Y/N asked.
"Yeah." He studied her face. "Is that alright?"
"It's your arm." She laughed. "I'm surprised you lasted this long to be honest."
"That's because he wanted to impress you." Gemma told Y/N, a smile on her face.
"And look at it." Harry butted in, throwing Gemma a glare. "This is the prettiest thing that's ever been on my body."
"I don't know." She grinned at him. "I like tattoos. And you where some pretty fancy stuff, Mr. Gucci"
He grinned down at her. "I like yours too, I've been trying to think of what they could say."
Y/N laughed. "Bunch of old literature quotes my dad used to spew at us."
"You know classic lit?" Harry asked curiously .
"That's it." Gemma interrupted, hurrying off the couch. "I'm going to bed."
"You're into classic literature?" She asked, eyebrows raised, not bothering to say good night to Gemma.
"Yeah." Harry laughed. "I like it all."
"Really?" She laughed lightly. "My dad would have been very impressed."
"Would have?" He asked.
"He died a couple years ago." She shrugged.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"It wasn't your doing." She shrugged.
"Still." He draped an arm around her and squeezed her to him. "No one should have to lose a parent."
"Anyways," she lifted up her shirt. He leaned in close enough to read the words. For what, for whom. "Luke has the second half, 'must I kill and be killed'."
Harry resisted the urge to touch it. She leaned forward, bringing her shirt up so he could see her back, and the back of her very black and very lacy bra. In the same cursive letters as the front, only bigger, was the quote, The gates of Hell are open night and day; smooth the descent and easy is the way.
"You're dad sounded like a treat." He said, wondering what the one on her rib cage was.
"He was." She laughed, leaning back. "I hated him for most of my life."
"Than why did you get the tattoos." He asked, keeping judgement from his voice. Just curiosity.
"At first it was because they were already engraved in my brain, why not my body." She looked up at him. "And then it was because I started to understand him, his methods were twisted but his intentions were pure."
"Twisted how?" He asked, hoping it wasn't what he was thinking.
"For a while his abuse was limited to words and eventually it escalated a little. I never had to go to the hospital or anything, I just had a couple of nice shiners from time to time." She shrugged. "My mom left him after that, we moved in with her childhood best friend, they got married a couple of years ago actually, and it's been good."
" I'm sorry. " His voice was soft again.
"It's alright." She smiled up at him. "Nobody's life is perfect, but it made me who I am today. I wouldn't have grown a love for helping people if I wasn't always patching myself and my brother up."
She traced patterns on his shirt. He smiled into her hair. He kissed her head softly. "You're kind of my favorite person already and I've only known you for a month."
"You too." She smiled into his chest. "I don't open up to people very well, normally."
"It's the same for me." He rubbed her arms. "It's weird, I miss you when I'm not with you, I've never really felt that before."
She buried her head in his chest. "No ex-girlfriends?"
"Yes." He shook his head. "But it never felt like this." She laughed. "Relationships weren't in the works for me, girls never kept my attention for long enough . And when covid hit I just kind of stopped with them completely. Until you." His voice was almost a whisper by the end.
"Why me?" She looked up at him.
"You're beautiful." He pushed her hair behind her ear. "And I'm not talking about your looks, although they are very beautiful, I'm talking about your mind and your soul."
"Yours is too." She smiled shyly. "When I first saw you two thoughts went through my head. The first was that you were possibly the most beautiful person I had ever seen. The second that you were probably the biggest asshole on planet earth."
He smiled slightly, it wasn't completely without cause. “You had no predisposed predilections of me?”
"I did but, you happily surprised me. In every single way."
"You're so fucking perfect." He dropped a kiss on her head, unable to help himself.
She blinked her eyes open. They were lighter than he had ever seen them.
"Really? Cause I think you are." She said, laying her head back down on his chest.
He had never been so content to just sit with someone before. He was on fire, from his fingers to his toes.
"Can we go to bed?" Y/N asked, looking up at him.
"Yeah, you need to shower?"
She nodded, standing up and stretching. He copied her before leading the way to his room. She followed him, grabbing on to the hand he stretched back. Her eyes were more unfocused now than before.
"Long day?" He asked, turning around and grabbing her other hand.
"Yeah," she sighed, "I had never been so excited to get out of there before."
"How come?" He asked, still walking backwards.
"We're still recovering from the bridge collapse, everyone's stressed out." She shook her head. "I felt like I was on a tv instead of at an actual hospital."
His hands rubbed circles on hers. "When do you have to go back in?"
"24 hours." She let go of his hands, walking to the bathroom. "And I'm exhausted, I don't know why."
"Maybe you need a break longer than a day for once." He suggested.
"Maybe." Her voice came through the door. "I actually have the weekend off, I switched times with a lot of people which means I work pretty much the rest of the week."
The water turned on and she wouldn't have been able to hear him. He grabbed his sleep shorts and took off his shirt, climbing into bed. He grabbed his phone and opened his Snapchat. It used to be his favorite social media before a lot of random people got his Snapchat and he didn't know who his friends were and who were not.
The amount of nudes he opened up was alarming. And very annoying. He stopped opening up any Snapchats he didn't know all together a long time ago.
The door opened and Y/N walked out, hair dripping wet and wearing one of his t-shirts. It swallowed her. He doubted she was even wearing pants.
"Goodnight Harry." She climbed into his arms, pressing herself on him.
He buried his head in her hair , disappointed when she smelled like him instead of her normal self.
He kissed her cheek. "Goodnight angel."
”Angel?" Her eyes peeked open.
"It's cute, like you."
She laughed, closing her eyes again. "It's a new one. I like it."
"Good." He closed his eyes, falling asleep to the rhythm of her heart against his chest.

Creepshow 3 (2006)
Usually, anthology films have a standout strong short, one that’s distinctly the worst and then the rest range somewhere in the middle. In Creepshow 3 what you have is a single mediocre story and the rest are awful. I’ll break down each individual tale (which weave into each other but are clearly separated) and then give an overall opinion on the film. Here goes:
The “Wraparound”
There’s no real wraparound story to Creepshow 3, but the film does start with some of the worst animation I’ve seen outside of high school student tryouts. It’s amateurish, the punchline is obvious, and since it doesn’t tie-in with the other segments, is wholly unnecessary. I don’t want to give it a zero because I wasn’t angry or offended, but it’s close.
Alice
Alice (Stephanie Pettee) is a stuck-up, ungrateful teenager. She comes home and finds her father fiddling with a fancy new remote. When he presses its buttons, the universal remote changes the universe, leaving Alice (who was speaking on her cellphone when she walked into the door) unchanged. Reality is altered in numerous ways “Color and Hue Settings” change the family from Caucasian to African-American and “subtitles” transforms the rest of the family into Hispanics. For reasons that aren't clear, every change also begins to mutating Alice.
The punchline of Alice is nonsensical but obvious. It features good practical effects which are undermined by someone’s brain-dead decision to cover with bad CGI. When you do less with your premise than Adam Sandler, you’re in trouble.
The Radio
Jerry (A. J. Bown) buys a radio from a homeless man. It begins talking to him and lets him in on a secret stash of cash, his ticket out of the grimy neighborhood.
This is the most inspired Creepshow 3 gets. The story is decent, but there are questionable plot points, like Jerry successfully framing someone else for a murder he committed in his own living room. There’s a romantic subplot that comes out of nowhere but is easy to see coming, meaning it’s badly written and predictable. Decent twists though. If any of the shorts were expanded into a full-length movie, this would be the one.
Call Girl
Rachel (Camille Lacey) is a call girl that kills her clients, Basic Instinct style. When she gets a call from a shy man named Victor (Ryan Carty) she expects just another victim, but there’s more to this guy than just that.
At this point, you’ve realized that every story will have a twist, so this one's ending is obvious. That’s not terrible, but I have two major gripes with this story. First of all, Vincent’s actions are ridiculous and don’t make sense, particularly at the very end Second, this short is about a call girl who has (presumably) sex with her clients so she can get close to them, murder them brutally and steal their stuff... and there are no nude/sex scenes? That's inexcusable in an R-Rated film like this. At least Creepshow 3 could deliver on some cheap titillation, as NOTHING has been scary or all that amusing up to now. Ok overall, but missed opportunities.
The Professor’s Wife
Two former students visit Professor Dayton (Emmet McGuire), their scatterbrained inventor of a teacher from years ago who has just announced his upcoming wedding! The bride-to-be is a sexy woman named Kathy (Bo Kresic) who must be at least 20 years younger than he is. She loves to cook, doesn’t talk much, and is head-over-heels in love. The students suspect something is amiss.
My synopsis makes The Professor’s Wife sound more interesting and twisty than it actually is. If you can’t see the ending of this segment coming, I don’t know what to tell you. The story is incredibly contrived and not particularly funny or scary. Good special effects though.
Haunted Dog
Cruel, slacker Doctor Farwell (Kris Allen) is sentenced by a judge (for unknown misdemeanors) to work in a free clinic. When a homeless man he gave a discarded hotdog to chokes and dies, his ghost begins haunting the doctor.
Apparently, the people behind Creepshow 3 didn’t even bother to watch Creepshow 2. This is just a knockoff of the “Thanks for the Ride Lady” short, The Hitch-Hiker. It’s the funniest of any of this anthology’s stories, but the special effects are all over the place. By being actually funny, this one redeems itself a bit.
Creepshow 3 concludes by following up on the events of The Professor’s Wife - poorly. With that, how did the movie score overall? Adding up the totals and dividing them by the amount of shorts, we get a 2/5. I must then deduct an additional half a point for the horrendous intro credits. The movie begins with a fortune teller ominously predicting a grim future. Besides the fact that the image has absolutely nothing to do with any of the stories, these credits are horrible. As the camera zooms in and out and pans around the image, you can see the edges where the illustration stops and it feels like a desperate attempt to give the movie some style.
This movie is abysmal. The special effects are bad, the acting isn’t particularly good, the stories are predictable and uninspired when they’re not ripped from better movies. It’s embarrassing to watch. There are some funny moments here and there, but there is no reason to watch this film, it’s worse than the worse episode of Tales From the Crypt. Yes, even those lame ones were the twist is that the would-be victim is actually a werewolf that EATS vampires, or the reverse. My advice is to simply pretend that Creepshow 2 and Creepshow 3 didn’t happen. (On DVD, June 14, 2014)
