This lovely costume was designed by Beatrice Dawson for Marilyn Monroe to wear in her 1957 role of Elsie in The Prince and the Showgirl. The piece was seen again in 1980, where it was worn by Jenny Agutter as Lizzie Corlay in Beulah Land.

The dress went up for Auction through Christine's, New York in 2005, and then again through Julien's Live in 2009.  The book The Showgirl Next Door: Holly Madison's Las Vegas, published in 2011, features a photo of Holly wearing the costume at Planet Hollywood in Vegas where the auction took place.

The auction catalog describes the costume as:

Blue and dusty rose colored chiffon jacket with silk embroidered flower details, pleated ruffle edging at hems and collar, hook and eye closure with tightly fitted waist.

The piece was eventually sold for $27,500.
