Jason came home from patrol a few hours ago. With the renovations at your shared home, you both decided to reside at the manor for a few days.
Jason lays behind you, arms around you securely. His breath tickles the back of your head. You would think he’d be asleep, but the occasional glide of his fingers against your skin tells you he isn’t.
You turn in his embrace to face him.
His eyes peel open, blue irises boring into yours. A little moonlight seeps through the curtains, but it’s hard to see many details.
“You’re awake,” he murmurs.
“Can’t sleep,” you reply. You usually can fall asleep quickly in his arms, but tonight’s an exception. Maybe it’s because you’re in a new environment. Sure, you’ve slept over at the manor before, but you’ve never stayed for so long in a row.
He hums in understanding and caresses your cheek.
“Neither can I,” he says.
You stare at each other for a few seconds before he leans forward. You meet him halfway, lips pushing against each other in a sweet kiss. Jason pulls back for one second, then kisses you again. This time, he moves his mouth. It’s slow and sensual as he takes his time. He moves his hand to your side.
One of your hands presses against his bare chest while the other moves to the back of his neck. You pull him closer, and he smiles into the kiss, swiping his tongue along your lip that’s between his. You open your mouth and greet his tongue with yours.
Jason squeezes your body at the new contact. His tongue glides against yours for a few, and then his lips capture your tongue. He sucks on the muscle as he pulls away. You giggle, unable to contain your happiness.
“Cute,” he comments and dives in again, pushing you back on the bed and letting the covers fall lower. The cool air touches your skin, causing you to shiver. Jason rubs one hand up and down your arm while the other props himself up.
Jason lays half on and half off your body. Your hands tangle in his hair, making a mess of it—how you like it.
His hand travels down to your waist, massaging it as he continues to kiss you. The noise of your kisses fills the quiet room and fires your body gradually.
“I want to see you,” you say breathlessly once you pull away.
Jason nods and leans to one of the bedside tables. He turns the lamp on, adjusting the setting to a low lighting, then moves back. The light doesn’t reach every corner of the room, but it’s enough to see him better and not hurt your eyes.
Your gaze dances over his face, taking in the few scars that reside on his skin. His sharp features are a contrast to the softness in his eyes. A mix of black and white hair hangs over his forehead as he hovers over you.
You raise a hand to cup his face, thumb gently rubbing along his lower lip. Jason parts his mouth ever so slightly at your touch.
“Good?” he whispers.
“Perfect,” you reply and lean up to kiss him.
Jason grins against your lips, a small chuckle getting lost in your mouth. As the kiss continues, Jason’s hands explore your body. His hand rubs up and down your side, thumb brushing against the underside of your breast over your tank top. He does this a few times and then slips his palm under your top and squeezes your breast.
You hum contently in his mouth, hands tightening in his hair. Jason rubs his leg against the outer side of your thigh, kissing you, and massaging your chest. As the seconds tick by, you get more needy.
Jason, sensing this, moves his kisses down while shifting on top of you fully. You grab the bottom of your top and slide it off. Jason’s hand remains on your chest, watching how your body moves. Then, his other hand rests on your other breast.
Jason pushes your breasts up, marveling at how pretty they look. He leans down and kisses along the swells. Your eyes follow his movements. One hand moves back to his hair while the other covers one of his hands on your chest.
You suck in a breath when Jason nips at your skin. He chuckles against your body, biting one of your breasts and lingering a little longer.
You giggle as you arch your back and push your chest into his face more. He hums, releasing your skin and massaging the area—ridding the teeth marks he had left. Once gone, he gives your nipples a teasing twist, and then he drags his hands down your body. He leans down and captures your lips once more; one of his hands slips between your legs to feel you over your panties. He moans into the kiss when he feels the dampened material.
Jason slips a finger beneath the fabric to run up and down your slit, feeling just how wet you are.
“Fuck,” he breaths against your mouth.
His finger circles your entrance then moves up to circle your clit. Your hips jerk slightly at the sensation.
The kiss becomes sloppy as both your focuses move south.
Jason rubs your clit a few more times before moving down. He gradually slides a finger in your hole with ease from how wet you are.
You moan quietly at the feeling, legs spreading a little wider. Jason pulls away from the kiss and tucks his face in the crook of your neck. His finger still pumps into you. He moves slowly, which makes you buck your hips for more. Jason obliges, sliding in another finger and quickening his pace.
“Jay,” you mewl and tug his hair to lift his face. As soon as he does, he places his mouth on yours. The kiss is hot and fast, matching the pace of his hand.
“Need your mouth, Jay,” you whisper.
He nods, slides his fingers from you, then crawls down. You remove your underwear and inch up the bed so he has more space to lie. Once you’re both situated, he hooks his hands around your thighs and pulls you closer. He kisses your inner thighs, hair tickling your skin. You watch with rapt attention as he moves inward. Then, his hot tongue licks up your folds slowly.
Your head falls back as a pleased moan slips from your mouth.
Jason does the action again and when he reaches the top, he flicks his tongue repeatedly against your clit.
Gasping, you reach down to his hair.
Jason moves a hand to grope one of your breasts as his tongue glides up your slit again. He gathers your arousal and his spit in his mouth then lets it fall onto your pussy. The sight has you clenching.
Jason dives in again, zigzagging his tongue against your clit briefly before circling the muscle at your hole.
You moan when he pushes his tongue in. Jason moans with you against your skin, the hand on your breast squeezing.
His eyes close momentarily before he stares at you again. His tongue pushes in and out quickly for a few before lapping up your wetness. He alternates between licking and sucking. He feels and sounds like he’s a dehydrated man in the desert as he devours your sweet pussy.
Your legs try to squeeze around his head, but he uses his free hand to push down one of your thighs. Your whimpers get louder as you near your orgasm. Jason’s relentless as he continues to eat you out, occasionally pinching and rolling your nipple between his fingers.
The knot in your tummy almost releases when a knock sounds at the door. However, before either of you can react, the door opens.
Jason snaps his gaze up, nose and chin glistening with your arousal. If it weren’t for being interrupted, you would’ve cummed at the sight.
You push your legs together and wrap an arm over your chest.
“Hey, you awak—”
Dick’s steps falter when he sees the two of you. Out of politeness, he looks away. Though that politeness dissipates quickly as a minute later, he’s looking again.
“What the fuck, Dick? Knock next time,” Jason hisses.
“I did knock,” Dick says weakly.
Your heart is beating quickly at having been caught. Not to mention, you’re naked in front of your boyfriend’s brother. The damp sheet caused by your dripping arousal and Jason’s spit beneath you is a constant reminder of what transpired seconds ago.
“Once!” Jason growls. “And what happened to waiting for a reply before walking in?”
Dick’s eyes glance at you, sweeping your form in under a second before averting to Jason. Unlike you, Jason still has his underwear on.
Jason, catching Dick’s gaze, grabs the sheet that had fallen and covers you haphazardly. You adjust it better.
“I didn’t think you’d actually be awake,” Dick says.
Jason narrows his eyes. “Well, I am, so go away and shut the damn door!”
Dick follows half of his order and shuts the door, staying inside.
“What?” Jason prompts.
Dick licks his lips. “I wanted to ask if you…”
“If I what?” Jason huffs, impatient.
It’s a little uncanny to see Dick so unsure. If anyone should be embarrassed, it should be you and Jason.
“I don’t remember,” Dick replies.
“Then leave.”
Dick remains standing in place, eyes on both of you. After an awkward standstill, he shuffles closer to the door, however, he still doesn’t leave.
Jason eyes him keenly.
Your gaze drifts from Dick to Jason. You can see the gears in his head turning, probably trying to uncover the reason for Dick’s hesitance. Then, Jason’s irritation morphs into a look of cocky delight.
Jason finally looks at you since Dick’s arrival.
You give him a confused expression.
He smirks and turns to Dick again.
“Or, if Yn agrees, you can stay and enjoy the show.”
Your breath catches in your throat. The show?
Dick has a mix of surprise and hope in his eyes.
“A-Are you serious?” you ask Jason.
Jason averts his gaze to you and nods, hand slipping under the sheet to rub your ankle soothingly.
“If you want, baby.”
The idea of having an audience brings forth excitement and shame. Excitement because it’s thrilling to have someone get turned on by you—it’s nice to feel wanted; shame because you shouldn’t like that thrill. It was wrong to expose yourself in that way to someone who wasn’t your partner. But Jason has agreed to it, which creates another question.
Jason is the jealous type. He doesn’t like when someone looks at you for too long, so why is he okay with Dick watching? Then you recall the look of mischief in his eyes earlier. He wants to show you off, and he has something Dick doesn’t. You wonder how long it’s been since Dick has slept with someone to want this so badly.
Plus, Jason trusts Dick and trusts you. This isn’t some stranger.
“Do you want to?” you still ask.
Jason gives you a reassuring smile. “I’m fine either way. This decision is yours.”
“But I want you to be comfortable too,” you pout.
“I’ll be comfortable,” he insists. “What do you say? Will you let Dickie stay?”
Your lips rub together, eyes flickering to Dick who still stands motionless. He watches you eagerly.
“Okay,” you say and look at Jason. “He can stay.”
Jason grins, glances back at Dick, and says, “What a lucky duck.”
Then he slides the sheet from your body and lays back down, pulling you close by the hips.
“But I’m luckier,” he mutters before circling his tongue on your clit again.
Your breath hitches, eyes moving from Jason to Dick.
Dick has moved closer, but still stays at a respectful distance, and watches Jason’s tongue play with your nub.
Jason glides his muscle along your folds again, moving a hand to rub your clit. You know he’s trying to get you aroused again, and it’s working. Your gaze falls back onto Jason.
He continues to use his tongue and hand, and eventually, you forget Dick’s in the room. Your focus is on Jason between your legs. But then Jason lifts his head and looks at Dick, then you.
“Can he put himself to use and touch you?” Jason asks you.
Your eyes widen slightly. You open to ask if he’s sure, but Jason speaks again.
“I wouldn’t ask if I wasn’t okay with it. Would you be?”
You trust both of these men. They won’t do anything you’re not comfortable with. With that in mind, you nod.
Jason nods for Dick to come closer.
“Rub her clit,” Jason instructs.
Dick looks at you for permission, and after a nod and a smile from you, he brings two fingers against your clit and starts rubbing. Your hips jerk at the action.
Jason watches for a few seconds before moving his face between your legs again.
Although Jason was circling your nub a minute ago, knowing it’s someone else doing that brings a new sensation flowing through you.
Dick eyes Jason before looking at you. He catches your gaze.
“Can I touch you more?” he asks.
Your eyes flicker to Jason, who is already looking at you.
You look at Dick and say yes.
Dick switches hands and uses his other to massage one of your breasts. You gasp when he rolls your nipple between his thumb and forefinger experimentally.
You can feel Jason smile against your pussy as he watches from below.
Dick repeats his action after seeing how you liked it. He tugs on the nipple, pulling it upward before letting it go and watching your breast jiggle. He bites the inside of his cheek, grabbing your breast again to squeeze it. You can feel his growing bulge against your side.
Jason slides two fingers in your entrance without warning and nudges Dick’s hand from your clit. He replaces it with his tongue, wiggling it against you. Moaning, your head falls on the pillow behind you. Your climax approaches quickly, having been interrupted earlier.
Dick lowers his face until his lips graze your nipple. You let out a shuddered breath, which has Dick wrapping his lips around it. His other hand moves to massage your other breast.
He sucks and tugs your nipple up with his mouth. When it slips from his lips, he immediately starts flicking his tongue against it. You whine and tangle a hand in his hair.
“Can I kiss you?” Dick whispers, eyes moving from your breasts to your lips.
“No,” Jason answers for you, fingers still pumping inside your hole. “No kissing.”
Dick nods, not offended by his rule. He gives you a comforting smile to show he’s not bothered. You’re grateful for his understanding. While you aren’t against the rule, you like knowing Jason has his limits. You’re still his completely.
Jason moves back down. It’s not long before your legs are shaking around his head and one hand is gripping his hair while the other is gripping Dick’s hand on your breast.
Both men moan lowly at you cumming, watching your body squirm.
When Jason pulls away, he’s covered in your juices.
“Can I taste you?” Dick wonders.
Jason looks at you to say it’s your choice. You nod.
Jason moves to your slide while Dick lays between your legs. Jason leans down and kisses you. He tastes and smells like you.
Dick’s tongue grazes your folds tentatively. When you don’t tell him to stop, he flattens his tongue and licks up the remnants of your juices and wetness.
You mewl into Jason’s mouth at Dick’s actions.
Jason pulls away to glance at his brother and then at you again.
“Such a good princess, letting him taste you like the starved man he is,” Jason compliments and moves a few strands of hair from your face. “Bet it’s been a while, hm?”
As if confirming, Dick hums and pushes his face deeper. You inhale sharply, hand flying down to grab his locks. You writhe from overstimulation.
“God, you taste amazing,” Dick nearly growls into your pussy.
Jason smirks and angles your face toward him. He pulls you in for another kiss, tongue moving against yours.
Dick swiftly glides his tongue all around your pussy, sucking and licking every inch of it. He prods the tip of his tongue at your hole, testing you. Again, when he gets no complaints, he shoves his tongue deeper and circles your clit with a free hand.
You pull away from Jason with a loud moan.
“Fuck,” you pant, feeling another orgasm in the pit of your stomach.
“You gonna’ cum again, baby?” Jason asks, already knowing the answer. You nod, unable to speak as Dick increases his speed.
Jason rubs your head soothingly while he watches Dick eats your pussy with fervor. He then lays next to you sideways and kisses your neck. Your head tilts to give him better access.
Dick pulls another orgasm from you minutes later, making your body shake.
“Shit,” Dick curses after you start coming down from your high. He crawls from you, chin shining under the low lighting. He swipes a tongue along his lower lip as if addicted to your taste.
Jason pushes himself off the bed and begins to strip off his underwear. Your mouth waters when you see his hard cock.
“I know you still have another one in you,” he grins and climbs back on the bed. “Rotate, princess.”
He uses his hand to motion so you understand.
You flip your body so your head is now where your feet were.
“Move up,” Jason adds. He slowly follows you as your head inches closer to the edge. You stop when you’re at the end of the mattress.
You lean up on your elbows to look at him.
Jason shifts his eyes to Dick and raises his brows.
“You wanna join or watch?” Jason inquires.
Dick doesn’t need to be asked twice and undresses himself. He moves to stand behind your head, and it’s then you realize what’s about to happen. Your heart rate picks up in anxiousness, your walls clenching in anticipation.
“Just bite his dick if you want him to stop,” Jason jests and rubs your calves.
“Hey!” Dick huffs.
You smile, glad for the joke. You’re feeling more comfortable, but you still sense Dick’s hesitance. You’re unsure if it’s because he’s second-guessing this or if he’s nervous he might hurt you.
“Kidding,” Jason says. “If it gets too much, tap the bed twice.”
You nod.
Jason grins, bends over, and kisses you sweetly. He pulls away after a few seconds and leans back on his haunches.
“Lay back down and relax,” Jason says.
You do as he says. Your gaze meets Dick’s hardened cock hovering above your face.
“Touch him,” you hear Jason instruct.
You carefully reach up and take hold of Dick’s cock. He sucks in a breath.
You start rubbing your hand, but you need… Dick suddenly spits down, coating your fingers with his saliva. You spread it along his cock, then rub him again. Your hand glides smoother.
Jason’s hands travel up your legs to massage your sides, looking at your hands move. After a moment, he glides the tip of his dick along your wet folds a few times before rubbing his tip back and forth rapidly against your clit. Your legs try to close, but Jason halts them. You moan and whimper at the sensation.
Meanwhile, Dick starts thrusting shallowly in your hands. Precum seeps from his tip. With your thumb, you swipe it and use it to aid in your stroking.
Dick’s hips stutter at your action, a curse falling out of his mouth.
“Give him what he wants, baby,” Jason says, pausing his movements.
You lean up and kiss the underside of Dick’s tip. You trail the kisses downward until you reach the base, and then your tongue darts out to lick his balls lightly.
Dick’s breath quivers above you. He reaches down to your sides and gently tugs you closer to him so your head hangs off the edge of the mattress. You feel Jason shift closer; his hands start to rub your inner thighs.
With your head at a better angle, Dick adjusts his cock and nudges his tip against your mouth. Your lips part at his silent request, taking his head in your mouth.
You suck and swirl your tongue around his tip. One of your hands moves to his thigh. You pull him closer and he follows, dick pushing deeper in your mouth.
“Oh, fuck,” Dick gasps.
As if unable to stop himself, he starts moving his hips. Your other hand wraps around the part that’s not in your mouth, pumping slowly as you hollow your cheeks around his cock.
Jason squeezes your thighs and spits, smearing it over your entrance. Your mind is going crazy trying to split your focus.
Dick continues to move his hips carefully while Jason coats his tip with your arousal and his spit. Then, he gradually sinks inside. You moan around Dick’s cock, causing him to groan at the vibration.
Jason mutters a curse as your warm walls engulf his thick cock. He pulls out then pushes in again.
Both men move slowly as if not to hurt you. Your body shifts gently between them as they alternate thrusts. Dick pulls out a few times so you can breathe, but he never stays away for long. Jason progressively pumps his cock in your pussy until he bottoms out.
Your legs squeeze around Jason at the feeling.
“Doing so good, baby,” Jason coos. He stills for a moment before sliding almost all the way out, then sliding back in fully.
When Dick pushes farther and hits the back of your throat, you gag. Your hands grab his thighs, but you don’t push him away. Taking that as a green light, Dick continues his movements. The lewd squelching from Jason fucking your pussy combined with your small gags from Dick’s cock in your mouth has you needing more.
Your hips buck against Jason quickly, trying to get him to increase his speed. Jason takes the hint and gradually thrusts faster.
Jason’s quick pace pushes you against Dick harder, making you take Dick’s cock deeper. You sputter, but the feeling has a grip on Dick and instead of pulling away, he shifts forward until your lips are at his base.
You push against Dick’s thighs as a reflex, but your arms get pulled away. Jason pauses his movements.
“Breathe, princess. Show Dick how well you can take his cock,” Jason says gently.
You force yourself to calm down, relax, and breathe through your nose.
“That’s it,” Jason says and starts rolling his hips again.
“Such a good girl you got,” Dick murmurs. His hand comes down to graze your throat.
“Hm, isn’t she?” Jason hums with pride.
Dick slides out a bit then back in. There’s no doubt he’s watching the way his cock is moving in your throat.
He does this a few more times and then pulls out. He cradles your head as you cough and sit up slightly.
Jason smiles at you, slowing down, as Dick moves a piece of hair from your face.
“You okay?” Dick asks.
You glance up. He’s breathing a little heavier.
You nod and lie down again. You reach out for his thighs, pulling him toward you and taking his cock in your mouth again.
“Look at you,” Dick marvels, sliding his cock deep. “So eager for more.”
You hum around Dick and bob your head as best as you can, gagging every now and then.
Seeing you want more has Jason accelerating his speed once more. His skin slaps against yours, the sound filling the room.
You moan and let Jason’s thrusts push you against Dick.
Jason lifts your hips, making you arch your back and leaning your head back more.
“Shit, you look so pretty like this,” Jason grunts.
Your breasts bounce as both men push and pull from opposite ends. You feel so satisfied with both holes filled. It’s a new sensation you welcome with open arms.
Dick reaches down and squeezes your breasts a little roughly.
“Such a pretty little thing for us,” Dick says and pinches your nipples. He twists and lifts them slightly, letting the back-and-forth movement of your body aid in the sensation of your nipples being tugged in different directions.
You whine loudly at the feeling while your back arches more. There’s a mix of pain and pleasure from the action.
Dick chuckles above you; he releases your semi-sore nipples and soothes them with a rub.
“Feel good?” Dick asks with a faint smirk on his lips, pulling out of your mouth so you can respond.
“Y-Yes,” you reply, voice already a little hoarse.
Jason pulls out and suddenly flips you over. He moves back to give Dick space on the bed.
As Dick gets resituated, Jason pulls you against him. He turns your face and kisses you roughly. You gasp in his mouth, his action unexpected. You can tell he’s getting worked up with how fast he’s moving now.
“Want him to watch for a bit, yeah?” he says, but it’s not really a question.
Jason nudges your knees wider, positions his dick at your drenched hole, then thrusts up.
Your breath gets caught in your throat, hands coming up to grip his forearm that’s across your chest.
Jason fucks up into you hard. He’s no longer being careful since he doesn’t have to worry about you choking on Dick’s cock too much. In the back of your mind, you sense he’s doing this so Dick knows he’s not the only one who can make you feel good.
“S-Shit, Jay!” you cry, pushing your ass against him and taking what he’s giving you. His thick cock feels so good stretching your pussy.
“Look at him,” Jason says in your ear.
Although your eyes have been open, you weren’t registering what you were seeing. Your sight refocuses.
Dick’s on his haunches with a hand wrapped around his long cock. His eyes shift from your bouncing breasts to your face with your open mouth, to where Jason is pounding into you. It seems he doesn’t know where he wants to look.
“She feels so good around me,” Jason moans. “So fucking tight.”
Dick’s grip tightens around his cock, eyes shifting lower to watch Jason fuck you. It’s almost as if he’s imagining your walls squeezing around him, thinking just how tight you really are. You have a quick thought of what it might feel like to have both of them in between your legs.
“Jay,” your voice trembles, feeling your approaching orgasm.
Jason slows and pushes you down. Your face lands inches away from Dick’s cock. The aforementioned man wastes no time to move forward and guide his dick in your mouth again. His hands tangle in your hair, moving your head up and down at his will.
“Fuck, use your tongue just like that, Yn,” Dick pants when you wiggle the muscle against his shaft.
Jason picks up his pace, hands gripping your ass. Skin slapping, moans, and small gags fill your ears. The combination is filthy, but only arouses you more.
Dick stills your head but starts thrusting upwards instead. He moves with speed, and you have to force yourself to relax as he pushes down your throat repeatedly. His breathing gets heavier.
“Can I cum in your mouth?” Dick speaks fast through pants.
You hum a yes around his cock and keep your head down so he can use your throat.
Dick groans at your acceptance and increases his tempo. Your hand's fist into the sheets below, eyes filling with tears at Dick’s brutal pace.
Jason slows his movements as Dick fucks you roughly. His hands move to your hips and rub encouraging circles.
“Keep taking his cock, princess. You’re doing so well,” Jason says.
With Jason’s words, you push your face down lower until you’re taking Dick’s cock whole.
“Fuck yes, Yn. Feels so damn good. Just like that. Stay just like that,” Dick rambles as he nears his climax. He thrusts a few more times and then shoves his cock down your throat. You feel him twitch as he empties his load in your mouth, head thrown back.
Dick stays deep in your throat for a few long seconds before he carefully glides out. He sits back on the bed, chest still heaving from his high. You gasp for breath while looking up at him. His eyes drop to you, a smile forming on his lips. He reaches down to wipe the few tears off your cheeks.
“T-Thank you,” he murmurs.
You giggle and nod, then you feel Jason slam into you from behind. You jerk forward, eyes widening as you stare at Dick.
“My turn, baby. You gonna’ let me fill this pussy?” Jason asks and gives you another single thrust.
You look back and nod again, a needy whine emitting from your throat. “Need all of you.”
Jason smiles and starts gliding in and out.
You rest your cheek against the bed as he picks up his pace. Meanwhile, Dick’s hand runs through your hair smoothly.
Jason snaps his hips into yours. He’s quick to slide in but takes his time sliding out. The mix of speed and force has your mind clouding.
Your walls clench around Jason’s cock, loving the way he feels so big in your tight cunt. You can never get enough of this feeling. Each glide has your release building.
Jason’s hips rock into yours faster, and you have to force your legs to stay up so you don’t fall. However, Jason’s firm grip on your hips won’t let you fall anyways. You can tell he’s close by his rapid breaths and powerful thrusts.
“Fucking hell, baby, you,” he trails off, unable to finish his sentence.
You squeeze around him again, hands clutching the bed sheets harder at his rough pace. Your body jolts up and down the mattress because of him. Though thanks to Dick’s hand against your head, you don’t slide too far.
“Need to see you,” Jason huffs and pulls out. He swiftly flips you, pushes your legs near your chest, then shoves his cock back in your pussy.
You cry at the deep angle, head pushing back as Jason keeps the speed he was at.
Jason stares down as he breathes through his mouth. His hair sticks to his forehead, brows burrowed.
“So good,” you mumble in a daze, thoughts hazy. “’eep going please.”
Jason nods. He pushes into you roughly a couple more times before he bottoms out, leaning over you more and forcing your hips to raise. A sound between a gasp and a yelp escapes your mouth. He’s so deep as he shoots his cum in your pussy, filling you.
Jason pants laboriously as he rides out his climax. He leans down and kisses you lazily. You smile into the kiss, hands coming up to the sides of his head. The kiss lasts a few more seconds, and then Jason slides out.
Before your hips fall, Jason shifts you so your back is against his chest. He hooks your legs over his, pulling them open and exposing your used cunt to Dick.
He moves one hand to one of your breasts and the other down to rub your clit. You gasp at the feeling and squeeze your legs against Jason’s.
Dick watches as Jason’s cum seeps from your spent hole. It begins to pool under you.
“Doesn’t she look so pretty filled with my cum?” Jason questions with a smirk.
Dick flickers his gaze to Jason, then down again. He seems to want to say something but bites it back. Instead, he reaches out to swirl his fingers in the mess between your legs. He parts your folds with his fingers, getting a better look at you pushing Jason’s cum out.
Dick scoops some of it on two fingers before plunging his digits into your entrance. You gasp, hips bucking. His lips twitch in a smile at your reaction, pumping his fingers faster. He soon adds a third.
Jason’s hands continue to massage your breast and circle your clit. With both men’s hands on you, your body begins to squirm.
Dick’s hand move fast, alternating between thrusting and jerking up and down.
Jason’s hand gets a little rougher as he pinches, rolls, and tugs on your nipple. His other hand between your legs moves faster to match Dick’s pace.
You whine and try to close your legs, but Jason keeps them firmly apart.
“I’m about—” you try to warn, but the knot snaps, cumming over both men’s hands. Your hips stutter and your muscles contract against Jason. Your eyes roll back as your chest heaves.
Dick and Jason continue their movements, steadily coming to a stop.
You lay still against Jason while you catch your breath. He kisses your head and carefully lays you back onto the pillows. You already feel sore in your throat and between your legs, but you wouldn’t trade this feeling. You feel exhausted, but so happy.
You watch with tired eyes as Dick climbs off the mattress. He gets dressed and then comes to the side of the bed. He tilts your face toward his.
“Thank you. I had a fun time,” he says sweetly.
You smile. “Thank you, and me too.”
Dick grins, tucks a piece of hair behind your ear, then makes his way to the door. You watch as Jason and Dick exchange a respectful nod before Dick leaves.
Jason waits a minute before asking softly, “You okay?”
“More than okay,” you mumble.
“You’re not getting too attached to Dick now, are you?” he teases, but you know there’s a sliver of worry in his chest.
You shake your head, leaning up. “Never, Jay. I only ever want you.”
“You’re so good to me,” he sighs and kisses you fiercely. You can tell he’s putting all the thoughts he can’t form with words in the kiss. It makes your heart melt. If anything, you feel closer to Jason.
“How are you feeling?” you ask after the kiss.
Jason grazes his fingertips along your skin. “I’m good.”
“Just good?” you pry.
“As long as you’re not falling for Dick, I’m good.”
You raise a hand to his face. “You’ll forever be the only one who has my heart, Jason Todd. And I’m grateful you trust me, and Dick, to have experienced tonight. Did you not have fun?”
“I did,” he pauses as if debating his next thought. “Thought it was kinda hot seeing you take two cocks at once.”
Your body heats at remembering the feeling. You trail your hand from his face to his chest.
“Kinda?” you wonder.
Jason smiles and grabs your hand. He kisses your knuckles.
“Okay, it was really fucking hot,” he admits.
You giggle and hide your face in his chest. He laughs, wrapping his strong arms around your body.
“You getting shy on me now, princess?” he asks.
You don’t reply and nuzzle your head deeper. One of your legs drapes over his body, pressing yourself against him as if trying to disappear. The simple motion brushes your pussy against his dick and sends a shiver down your spine.
Jason must feel the same thing because he releases a shaky sigh.
You’re both quiet as you think of what to do. Your body is spent, and your energy is low. However, the thought of Jason filling you up has another wave of lust circulating through you.
“I want to feel you again,” you murmur.
Jason lifts your face and connects your lips. It’s a languid kiss that still makes your heart race even after all these years.
He reaches down, covers his shaft with his cum from earlier, then aligns his cock with your hole and eases inside again.
Jason swallows the noise you make, continuing the kiss. He rocks his hips in a leisurely rhythm.
You hold onto him tightly. You savor the taste of his tongue and the feeling of him inside you. Jason’s love for you is oozing from his pores, and you bask in it as he holds you equally as tight.
You hope in your next life that you and Jason will find your way to each other again for you can’t ever imagine being with anyone else.

flufftober day 2 - family, friends, loved ones
pairing: jamie tartt x reader
words: 0.7k
oOoOo
“Sometimes it feels like we’re never going to get married.” you lamented to Keeley and Rebecca as the three of you sat around Rebecca’s flat, sipping on wine with a trashy movie on in the background.
Being engaged to one of the biggest, hotshot players in the league was not all it was cracked up to be. Just over a year ago, Jamie had gotten down on one knee and popped the question, but between your schedule and his, you were in a perpetual state of engagement.
“Babes, it’ll all work out, I know it. But as long as the two of you know the commitment you want to make to each other, that’s all that matters, right?” Keeley reassured you, rubbing a soothing touch up and down your arm.
“I suppose you're right.”
“Of course she is.” Rebecca interjected. “My wedding to Rupert happened weeks after he proposed, cost a fortune, was a whole fucking affair turned out to be a pile of shit.”
Though you and Keely tried to keep a straight face, you couldn’t help but burst out laughing at Rebecca’s mini rant, her eventually joining in. It made you feel a bit better, and the thought slowly began to dissipate from your mind.
It wasn’t until two weeks later that you thought anything about your conversation with Keeley and Rebecca. You and Jamie had been called into the Dog Track, but neither of you were sure as to why. It was an off week for a match and a rare, free Saturday for the team to enjoy.
The two of you walked into the building, hand in hand, only to be met with Keeley and Roy, with a huge grin and a half scowl on their faces respectively.
“Finally!” Keeley cried, reaching to grab your hand and pull you away. Before Jamie could even protest, the blonde threw a quick “We’ll see you two later.” over her shoulder.
All your questions went unanswered until Keeley pulled you into Rebecca’s office, where the room in question stood waiting with three glasses of champagne and a mischievous smile on her face. You glanced around the room, eyes narrowed in confusion until you spotted a dress hanging a ways away - a white dress.
“Umm, guys, what’s going on?”
The two women looked at each other before looking back at you. “Do you trust us?” Rebecca asked.
oOoOo
Forty minutes later and you found yourself outside on the pitch, Jamie being led out by Roy and some of the other players. The two of you met in the middle and found Ted waiting there in a nice suit, and a cheesy grin on his face.
“Hey, y’all,” Ted started. “I know this isn’t necessarily the big day you probably dreamed of, but we thought we’d throw you this little party. Now Beard here has gotten himself ordained and we’re all ready to perform a little ceremony so that one of our favorite couples can call themselves hitched.” he smiled, before rushing to add on “‘Course, you don’t have to go through with this. We don’t mean to overstep, just wanted to do something nice for you two.”
You were stunned and overwhelmed by the love you felt from this team, and it was hard to stop the tears that pricked at the corner of your eyes. A huge grin overtook your features and you turned to look at your fiance, giving him a questioning look. Jamie looked towards his team, back at you, and smiled with the slightest nod. Both of you knew what your answer was.
“We’d love to.” Jamie said and was quickly drowned out by the cheers of everyone waiting to hear your decision.
You couldn’t help but laugh as Jamie was rushed down to the makeshift aisle with Beard while Keeley and Rebecca quickly walked down as your ‘bridesmaids,’ and Ted stood back with you offering you his arm.
“Hope you don’t mind, but can I walk you down?” he asked.
By that point, tears of joy and love were streaming down your face as you could only nod in response. It might not have been the ceremony you were expecting, but all that mattered was that you were surrounded by the people who loved you and you, finally, got to join your life with the man you loved.

Turmoil; Chapter 9
Roman Roy x Reader
Word Count: 3.518k
You walk slowly back and forth on the cool marble flooring of Shiv’s apartment, trying not to slip on your socks. You're gesturing vaguely at your laptop as you pace, which Roman had gotten to project on her living room TV. You have the spreadsheet of Connor’s financial ruin pulled up, letting everyone mull it over.
“We have many options right now, and all of them are good,” you tell your miniature peanut gallery of the siblings- minus Connor -, plus Gerri and Greg. “We serve Connor. All this does is get him off of our asses, gets us some spending money. Doesn’t eliminate the massive fucking problem that is Logan Roy, doesn’t deal with anything involving Waystar. Purely a ‘fuck you’ to Connor and he goes to jail for five minutes before Daddy bails him out.” You glance around the room, remembering your audience. “Uh, no offence.”
You get a collective grunt from the three siblings, all of them in a similar state of focus. Roman’s sat on the sofa, eyes trained solely on you rather than the presentation. When you catch his gaze, he gives you a nervous smile. You smile back.
“What I think we should do is start building a case against Logan. But we bait him with this fraud to get a stronger case,” you say. “We’re pulling things together. I can see us having an airtight case before the years up.” You pause. “We just, uh, need to finalize the entire… CEO thing.”
The more time you’d spent with the Roys, the more they got along less. With Logan thrown out of the company, ownership, control of the company was up for grabs. Each of the three of them though that they were the right choice. What you saw in Norway, what you saw when you first met Roman, was slowly self destructing.
You’re worried it won’t go back to the way it was before.
The siblings’ banter, their underlying love for one another. You’re not going to hear it again for a while.
The general consensus is that you are to start building a criminal case against Logan Roy. You have to tell yourself that if you fail, on the off chance that this case crumbles under pressure in court, that the rest of your life will with it. Losing to Logan Roy, at anything, has grace consequences. And in this instance? Your career will suffer the most.
Roman’s trying to figure out how to completely disconnect your laptop from the television when Gerri approaches you. You both offer each other soft smiles. You were similar, after all, and although lawyers didn’t get along most of the time, you got the feeling that you’d both give each other grace.
“It’s nice to meet you informally,” she tells you, offering her hand for you to shake. Her grip is firm, it doesn’t falter. “I’m sorry I couldn’t make it out to Norway.”
“You didn’t miss much. It was a lot of peacocking, if I’m honest.”
Her voice drops so that only you can hear, even though everyone else is involved in their own business, nowhere near. “There’s a power struggle here. Neither of us are stupid.”
You gather your composure. Maybe this wasn’t the wholesome interaction you’d hoped it’d be. Oh, how you wish strategy would leave you alone. “Mm.”
“And I think, with our lack of familial ties, lack of allegiance, we’re in quite the position to just… make things go our way.”
Your eyes flit about the space around the two of you. Still, nobody’s within earshot. “And what’s our way?”
“The one where we benefit most.” Her gaze shifts from you to Roman, still sat on the couch, your laptop finally disconnected from the TV. As if he can feel your eyes boring into him, he looks up, catching you and Gerri staring. “The one where we have the most control.”
“Since when are you and Gerri all buddy buddy?” he asks the minute you step out of Shiv’s apartment. The bone-chilling January air smacks you in the face, blowing back your hair as you glance at him in the dark.
“We’re not. I met her today.” You simultaneously reach for each other’s hands, curling your fingers together.
“What’d she say?” he asks, voice just barely cracking. He brings his free hand to your intertwined ones, rubbing over the back of your hand in an attempt to warm it.
You don’t answer until you’re both in the car a few moments later, you sitting behind the wheel. “She made an interesting proposition about the entire… succession thing.”
He buckles his seat belt, not taking his eyes off you. “Yeah?”
“That her and I back you so that we have the power when you’re CEO.”
You tear your gaze from his, backing out of the apartment complex’s parking lot and pulling out onto the street. He says nothing for a bit, turning things over in his head.
“I mean, I wouldn’t really be against that,” he says carefully, failing to sound convincing. “I wouldn’t like it, but I mean, CEO, and the two smartest people I know pulling the strings so I don’t fuck up…”
“You’d be fine with that? You wouldn’t want, I don’t know, free will?”
“Well, it’s you and Gerri. Sure, you’ve both had your cold and calculating bullshit, but neither of you are capable of rendering me completely useless.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” you ask, glancing at him when you stop at a red light.
He shrugs. “Just that you’re physically incapable of slighting me, because, you know”- he gestures at himself, taking your hand that wasn’t on the steering wheel and planting a kiss on the back of it -“and Gerri doesn’t even have it in her.”
You roll your eyes. “I mean, I could, but I won’t,” you say, teasing. He keeps your hand in his as you drive, night time New York lights blurring by.
“Would you do it, though?” he asks quietly. “Do you think I could do it?”
“What do you mean?”
“Am I… am I capable?” You can tell he’s still looking at you, but your eyes are in the road.
“Of course you’re capable,” you say immediately. “But it sounds like you don’t really… want it.”
“I mean, I want it. I want more for myself. I just… don’t really want Waystar. I want more than just fucking around in my stupid fucking office and having… having no substance.” The car’s in the parking garage of your own apartment now, but neither of you make a move to get out. He’s looking straight ahead of him, eyes slightly glazed over. It’s an expression you’ve never seen on him before. He looks troubled, like he’s actually at war with something in his head. “I mean, I feel like a week ago I would’ve strangled you for it. Now, I think about it, and it’s so… so boring.”
Your hands are still wrapped around each other, so you begin stroking small circles into his skin with your thumb. “Boring?”
“Unfulfilling. Dull. Like, what, I make billions of dollars every year for the rest of my life, doing absolutely nothing to earn it, and then I just die? What kind of life is that?”
You turn so that you can face him. “I didn’t know that was on your mind.”
Roman gives a mirthless laugh, bringing your hand to his shoulder. Vaguely aware of what he wants, you rub absently. “I didn’t, either. I don’t know.” His fingers trace over the back of your hand, still staring out the windshield rather than holding your gaze. “You make me feel all of these new things. I’m thinking about so much more, now that I’m taking you seriously.”
“You weren’t taking me serious before?” you ask playfully, trying to lighten the mood. You lean over the center console, using your hand on his shoulder to keep you steady, pressing a hot kiss to his jaw. “In the end, don’t do anything you don’t want to. Life’s not worth it if you’re not happy.”
You step out of the car, and Roman’s not far behind you. “You know,” he begins once you’re both safely inside the apartment, “I have no idea what we’re supposed to do.”
His coat gets tossed into the hallway closet, yours not far behind after he coaxes it off of you. “We’ll just do what we can.”
“You’re not very reassuring,” he mutters, shutting the closet door and pushing past you into the kitchen. You follow, reaching for his shoulders from behind him once he stops at the kitchen counter. He drops his face into his hands, somehow both tensing and relaxing at your touch.
“Roman.” Your thumbs glide over his shoulder blades, and he doesn’t respond. “What’s the actual problem here? We can talk. I’m here for you.”
“He’s my dad, Y/N. In the end he’s still my dad.” You gently knead his shoulders in an attempt to soothe him. He still doesn’t turn to face you. “Which is why it hurts so fuckin’ bad.”
“Tell me what hurts, Roman. We’ll fix it, I’ll fix it.”
“I want… I want him to love me like I love him. But I know-” he chokes on his words, and you realize he’s crying. You falter for barely a moment when he abruptly turns and buries his face into the crook of your neck, wrapping his arms around your back. You feel his tears trickling onto your collarbone, and you feel a twisting in your chest. You cradle the back of his head with one of your hands, the other going to the small of his back. “But I know it’ll never happen.” His grip tightens on you before he continues. “Yeah, that shit with you, and Gerri, and CEO… it sounds so fucking good, but Y/N, when I fucking dreamed of it, the only reason it ever mattered was that it was him. He wanted me there, he thought I was the best. But it was all just a dream, anyway. It doesn’t fucking matter if that’s not how it goes.”
He sobs into your shoulder, and you don’t move. You keep holding him. You’ll hold him until he lets go. You hope he doesn’t.
“We’ll figure something else out, then. It’s okay, Roman, it’s okay.” You press a tentative kiss to the side of his head. “You’re getting yourself worked up. We can talk about this later, yeah?” He pulls away to look at you, waterline still glistening. You cup his face with your hands, thumbing away the stray tears on his cheeks and under his eyes. “Wanna watch that show I was talking about the other day? Make you feel better, take your mind off things?”
He takes a deep, controlling breath, calming himself. “I know a better way we can get me to feel good,” he murmurs, not wasting any more time, taking you by the jaw and pulling your mouth to his. If your first few kisses were careful, arguably sweet, this one was reckless. Roman kisses you without abandon, mushing your lips against his. For the first time, he’s needy, he’s greedy, he’s fucking desperate. Messily, he’d turned the two of you so that your back was to the counter. “Up,” he utters, mouth barely leaving yours. He reaches behind you, barely gesturing at the counter top.
Vaguely, you register, and you brace your hands on his chest and jump, managing to land where he wants you. The counter isn’t that high up- it wasn’t a struggle. Immediately, he’s pressed up against you, hands sliding down your legs to loop them around the part of his torso they are dangling by. While your hands go to cup his face, his slide back up your clothing to settle on your hips.
You kiss him again, and again, and again. The only thing you can hear is the blood rushing through your ears and the soft noises of your lips on his. You pepper kisses onto his lips, and he makes quiet, contented noises. He’s completely relaxed. He’s letting you do whatever the fuck you want.
“Feeling better?” you ask into his mouth before kissing him again, long and deep, fingers digging deeper into his skin.
He groans in response, the vibration against your lips spine-tingling. “So much fucking better.” He pulls his mouth from yours, to your disappointment, and the both of you are panting, vying for air. He doesn’t pull away entirely, instead leaning back in to dot kisses to the corners of your mouth, then down your chin, down your neck. “You look fucking gorgeous from this angle. A fucking goddess among men.”
☾𖤓
When the morning arrives, the two of you are tangled together, your head nestled into his chest, his head atop yours. His arms are wound tightly around you, keeping you flush against him in a refusal to let go. When you wake up, all you can smell is the faint scent of his aftershave from the night before. You never want this to end.
You don’t open your eyes, trying to get even closer to him. You barely rub your cheek against his chest in an attempt to burrow into him. Roman murmurs softly in his sleep, shifting, bringing you with him and pressing his nose into your neck.
His breath fans over your skin, deliciously warm, sweetly soothing. You bring your hand to his cheek, gently stroking, admiring his peace-laden face.
You spend the next half hour like this, just looking at him, reflecting.
Your fiancé. Your Roman.
You’d never expect, in a million years, that this would be how you ended up. You let your fingers trace calming patterns into the crook of his jaw, and he’s practically purring. You savor these fleeting moments, this peace.
It’s like a dream. Everything is in slow motion, and you can feel everything before it happens. You know you’re going to fall for him. You’re going to fall so fucking hard. You’ll scrape your face on the pavement, skid your knees, bleed for him.
Also like a dream is the looming sense of doom. The feeling that you’re grasping at straws, waiting for everything to suddenly slip away. Because you know it will. You know, whatever path you take, it intersects with Logan Roy’s, and there’s quite the conflict in the distance.
Roman grunts from under you, shifting so that you’re laying on the bed rather than him. “Fuckin’ tryna kill me,” he mumbles into your neck. Despite his words, you can feel him smiling into your skin.
“I want all that money of yours,” you tease back, letting him drape an arm over your torso, readjusting so that his face is buried in your chest.
“Mm, don’t act like you don’t already own everything that I do,” he says, sleep still playing with his voice. “God, you could tell me you wanted to live in the White House and I’d blow all my money renting it out for you.”
You laugh airily, and before you know it, you’re both up and about, getting ready for work.
“I forgot to tell you,” he calls from across the apartment, him in the kitchen, you digging around in your closet. “The shareholder thing. Looks like Dad’s trying to rally the troops. He has all the old-timers questioning everything Ken does.”
“Anything from Marcia?” you shout back, finding the outfit you were hunting for.
“She agreed to meet at the firm. Also, I heard from that pompous piece of googly-eyed garbage that Connor’s already had a lawsuit processed. He goes to court in a month or something.”
You stroll out into the living room, watching Roman muck about the kitchen, making breakfast. It smells good, at least, and you can tell he’s melting cheese over eggs while he scrambles them. “Are you talking about Pierce, or Greg?”
“Pierce. I don’t think Greg is that bad…”
You snort, rounding the counter to give him a kiss on the cheek. “Whatever you say.” He turns to briefly smack a kiss onto your cheek in return before getting back to his eggs. "Hopefully your daddy makes a scene.”
“Never refer to him like that again.”
At the firm, you decide that you’re going to pretend to keep working on Connor’s case. You’re itching for shit to hit the fan, to see Logan step in. As far as you know, everything is in place, and you’re getting closer to catching him red handed.
On your office phone’s intercom, your assistant buzzes to get your attention. “Siobhan is here.”
“Send her in, Cherry, thank you!”
When Shiv’s sat across from you, dressed in a power suit, she’s distracted. “I didn’t know you employed solely pretty people.” She gestures at you, then looks back at Cherry’s desk.
You laugh. “I do my best.” You absentmindedly click a pen, turning some thoughts over in your head. “So how are we going to play this?”
Shiv relaxes a bit in her seat, regarding you carefully. “I say we go for the jugular. There’s no reason to go easy.”
You lift a shoulder in a half shrug. “It’s your call.”
Another buzz. “She’s here.”
“Put her in Conference Room C. Love you lots, Cherry.”
Shiv flushes slightly. “Her name is Cherry?”
You shoo her out of her office before she can continue the conversation, and the two of you make your way down the hall. You see her through the glass before you get to the conference room. Marcia sits, hands folded primly in her lap, lips pressed into a thin line. You sit yourself in the chair directly across from her, Shiv following, settling in beside you. She wears a steely expression, her face devoid of emotion.
“Is it really so bad, just telling Dad you don’t want him anymore?” she asks Marcia, leaning back into her chair.
“That is not the topic of today’s conversation,” Marcia manages back, tone icy.
“Before we get to that,” you tell her, “you’re going to have to swear a few oaths. You’re Catholic, aren’t you, Mrs. Roy?”
She nods, hesitant. You reach under the conference table, where a small storage container is attached, and pull out a Bible. You stand, round the table, and make her set her hand on the holy book.
You swear her in, and you’re back in your seat next to Shiv. You fiddle with your pen, as does Shiv with hers. Your notepads are set before you both, at the ready to take notes.
“Just so you remember,” Shiv drawls, “if we find out anything you say here is untrue, you’re in deep shit.”
“Let’s start out easy, light.” You cross your ankles over each other, keeping your eyes on Marcia. “How long have you and your… new friend been seeing each other?”
She sighs, lips pursed. “A little over a year now.”
Shiv’s lips press together, keeping whatever comment she had lined up to herself. Instead, she asks, “What are you aware of, if anything, that my father has done that isn’t… to your taste?”
Marcia takes a moment to respond. “Bribes. Threats. What’s new?”
“You’re going to need to be a bit more specific,” Shiv replies quickly, pen poised over paper.
“Well,” Marcia says, drawing the word out, “he’s had private meetings. With investors, with accountants, with employees. He always has something to hold over them. There is always some hidden record, some bastard child, to bring them to him.”
“And if we were to ask you to remember who some of these people were, would you be able to come up with names?” you ask carefully, glancing down at your empty notepad then back up at Marcia.
“Yes, I’m sure I could.”
You and Shiv both jot things down.
Shiv opens her mouth to continue, but Marcia beats her to it. “There is something important you should know.”
“By all means,” you say, trying to be encouraging.
“I have come to know your first case quite well,” she tells you, averting her gaze. “It is a shame, what happened to you.” You and Shiv exchange a glance. “But despite all of the theatrics my husband enjoys, what he’s presented to you still is not the full truth.” She takes a moment, formulating her next sentences. “It was not Connor committing the fraud. It was Logan. He manufactured evidence, he framed his son, and I… I’m fairly sure the poor boy thinks he committed the crime.”
The room is dead silent for what seems like ages. You don’t know where to look. Your eyes flit from Marcia, who seems to be contemplating something in her head, to Shiv, who looks just as confused, just as off put as you do.
Marcia seems to decide something, then continues speaking. “I have had enough of the drama. I will testify in court against my husband if you help me turn our relationship into a thing of the past.”
You throw Shiv a triumphant look before turning back to Marcia.
“That sounds like quite the respectable deal.”

Sunder (Shiv Roy Oneshot)
Word Count: 1,566
Character/s: Shiv
A/N: This is a draft I tweaked a little. Still not 100%, but I wanted to post writing anyways, so here is it! Feedback is always appreciated!!💜💜💜
Succession Masterlist / REQUESTS ARE OPEN
You loved one another, despite it all. You loved one another through and through. You loved one another and the worst part of it? It still wasn’t enough.
You’re doing it again. You don’t ask what. You already know. You had a habit of staring at her. More than that though. Searching her features for her feelings, her thoughts, everything she wasn’t saying. Couldn’t say. She passed you her cigarette and you took it, a peace offering, a poison to pick. The smoke never tasted so good. She wears her blue dress. New and tight in all the right places. You resist the urge to take your fingers and untie the back, the straps sliding off her shoulders, letting the top fall, eventually the whole thing crashing to the floor as you pull the zipper down. You resist the urge to move closer, fill the gap between you, to breathe in her smoke and mess up her lipstick. You resist the urge to touch her one last time. Instead you exhale, the smell intoxicating and familiar and homey, thanking her and passed it back to her. Your fingers don’t touch. She is too careful, too regimented, and you can do nothing but oblige. You know your mom is a total bitch. She nods. Of course she knows. Of course you know she knows. The things she said, about you, about her daughter. They were awful. They were angry. They were cowardly. No mother should ever speak to her child like that. She didn’t- but she stops. Didn’t what? The love of your life. Serious, and cold, and tough, and yet, none of these things. She is soft and sweet and not everyone can appreciate that about her. The duality. But you did. Or, rather, you appreciated it at one point not too long ago. The rest of her sentence drops, clatters on the hard stone and shatters into a million little pieces. You watch it dissipate before looking back at her, watching her, wondering what kind of excuse she could have come up with. They believed her uncaring, but god, were they wrong. She was spiky, sure, but it wasn’t meant to offend, it was meant to defend. Far more years than you’d like she spent picking herself up, kissing her own wounds, looking out for herself. Of course they thought she was cruel, she was acting how they thought she would, not how she was. Underestimated for merely existing. That would make anyone a little jaded.
We should go back inside. You’re not sure who says this, only that you’re both surprised. Not yet, the other says, trying not to sound desperate. Okay. No fight. No insistence. You’re both relieved. What now? You know you’ve come to the end. After this, it would be over. There were papers waiting to be signed. Magically, they appeared on the kitchen island. Identical twins, a copy for each of you, your lawyers. Your families had an entire team on retainer, though you both preferred to hire outsiders. It was quieter this way. Supposedly, it was easier. Both parties agreed to make things amicable. It was, even now, sharing a cigarette, it was split 50/50. Neither of you made the first move. You checked every night, every morning, as you were coming and going, but the lines at the bottom remained unscathed. Free of ink and decision. You loved her signature. It was delicate, it was sharp, it sliced you open every time you saw it. Her full name. You never called her Shiv. A name as beautiful as hers deserved to be said in full. She didn’t seem to mind, she never corrected you. There was no need. Her father only used it in anger. You could never be angry at her, not now, not ever. She knew that. You hoped she still did.
Her mother’s wedding wasn’t something either of you had been planning on attending. In the end, she needed someone, and you were still that person. You would have given anything to get out of that apartment, away from those papers, the emails and memos and missed calls. Your lawyer wanted to go over your assets. That could wait. You couldn’t leave her side, not now, not to face her mother alone. You weren’t in denial. You weren’t stupid. You lived in this reality, you understood the consequences to your actions. Still, that didn’t mean you couldn’t put off your responsibilities til you got back. She didn’t bring up, the deflecting, the aversion, the avoidance. Neither did you. You were in agreement: this divorce was better if neither of you made a decision. It was easier. This marriage wasn’t broken. It wasn’t fractured, there were no cracks in the foundation, there were no faults. There were no secret affairs or lying or cheating. This was not a gruesome death. There was no blood, no gore. You imagined it as quick and painless. Someone dying in their sleep. Warm, and safe, and final. Peaceful. There would be an open casket. There would be mourners. There will be a burial under a tree, you’d like to think, a weeping willow. Things faded. It wasn’t the fault of one of you. You tried to make it work. You did the best you could. That would always be how you told this story: you did your best, you and her, and when you realized it wasn’t enough, you went your separate ways.
You never wanted it to play out like this, though you were realistic in your expectations. Neither of you had grown up in homes that placed love on a pedestal. There were no happily ever afters. Marriage was, like all things in life, a business transaction. A deal, a commitment, between two people. Not a promise or a vow, something more surgical. Sterile. Sometimes it was used to procreate. Sometimes it was for appearances. Sometimes, though you knew none of the people involved would ever admit to it, it was a shield against loneliness. Your parents, her parents, none of their marriages ended well. You understood there was a cycle you could either break or repeat. There were no gray areas. You would have preferred not to repeat, but you couldn’t tie yourself to her, all dead weight. You couldn’t trap her into something neither of you were particularly fond of keeping alive. You still loved her. And she still loved you. But sometimes love wasn’t enough. It’s not how the fairytales go. It’s not how the movies play out. Where’s the fun in that? The happy couple walks down the aisle. They slip on the rings. They kiss. And then, the credits role.
Viewers don’t realize there’s more to it than that. There is effort, and disagreements, and hurt, and mundanity. There are bills to be paid and careers that need tending and complicated family relationships. You and Siobhan were still considered newlyweds. If it wasn’t so hypocritical, your mother would have called it a moral and spiritual failure. You’re not making it to your first anniversary. Your marriage was in it’s infancy and already you were calling it quits. Her mother would have a lot to say once it’s finalized and you break the new,s separately, to everyone. By then, you won’t be around to protect her. You’ll go your separate ways, though you have a feeling you’ll cross paths again. You’ll be in one another’s lives.
Do you want custody of Roman? She offers you a small smile. You know it is sincere. Still, it’s too early to joke about. Too new. Too fresh. You still wear your rings. She looks just as she did at your wedding. How could it possibly be over? It’s a thought that crosses your mind every time you look at her, every time you catch yourself saying her name. How could it not? This voice is quieter, it is defeated, but equally respected. You know they are both right. You sit in your silence, comfortable, serene, and you wait. Wait for her brothers to come looking for her, for her mother to whine to her, for someone to interrupt you two. There should be more of a fight. There should be more life. But there isn’t. You are not throwing in the towel, you are coming to terms with a great loss. That looks different for everyone. For some, there is thrown furniture and words that can’t be taken back. For others, there is a great hostility, a removing of oneself, hissing and spitting and alienation. It’s not like that for you. She will always be a part of you. She will always have a place at the table. You’ve made that clear. The feeling has been reciprocated. There is no explosive ending. It will be quiet, but not hushed. You will announce it on your own terms. You will carry on without her, at least for a little while. People will ask their questions and make their assumptions, but only you and her will ever know what really happened. In the end, it will be devastating. It will take their air from your lungs. It will be the worst thing that has ever happened to you, losing her, losing your Siobhan.
The grief will come all at once. For now though, you will sit with her and take her in and wait to be interrupted.

hello again!! i’m going to be greedy and also make a roy request because ily and ur writing. please feel free to do just one of them or neither! but maybe some ‘holding the other’s hand to pull them baxk from something” with roy, i just love me some protective gruff teddy bear. thank you and i’m going to say congratulations AGAIN because you’re so cool <3
Hehehe thank you darling!! I love and appreciate you endlessly - I went in a different direction with this but I hope you love it just the same!
Part of the reason you and Roy worked so well, at least for you, was because of your opposing personalities. His gruff and grumpy attitude was the perfect match for your generally sunny disposition; he was always there to protect you and you were always there to help him see the brighter side of tough situations.
Sometimes, though, you couldn’t help but get protective of your man.
You knew he could handle himself, he was a world class athlete, but sometimes it just got to a point where you couldn’t restrain yourself. Tonight, you’d had a few drinks out with the team to celebrate their recent win, but someone at the bar was bringing down the mood.
“You were never that great as a player, and I don’t think you’re that great as a coach, either,” the man was saying, swaying in his seat as Roy stared straight ahead, not even bothering with a response. You, however, could never remain cool-headed about something you cared about as much as you care about Roy.
“Listen to me,” you say forcefully as you stand, even though you wobble a little on your shoes, “Roy’s a great fucking player and he’s a great fucking coach, maybe you’d know that if you got your head out of your ass long enough to watch a game.”
The man is looking at you with wide eyes, but you don’t even care anymore as you feel Roy’s hand wrap around yours, pulling you back and out of the bar. Shame and embarrassment course through you, making you hang your head as Roy leads you past the celebrating boys and into the night. You’re all ready to apologize, but Roy speaks first.
“Thank you, for telling him off like that.” He says, keeping your hand gripped tightly in his.
“I’m sorry for escalating,” you reply, knowing that your passion can bleed into hot-headedness.
“Don’t be fucking sorry, that was fucking amazing. Hot as shit,” he adds and you giggle, feeling the tension release in your chest.
“I still feel like I went a little overboard,” you tell him, squeezing his hand and delighting when he squeezes yours back.
“You didn’t. That fucker deserved it, I’m really fucking grateful you stuck up for me.” He goes quiet for a moment and you’re preparing to head back inside when he continues, “I know it seems like I don’t care but it still fucking hurts.”
“I know.”
“I know you know, and that’s why I’m so fucking thankful to have you around, yelling at everyone who looks at me wrong.”
You can’t help but to laugh at the idea that Roy Kent needs you around to tell people off for him, and soon Roy cracks a smile too and your heart sings. It’s such a rare sight, even though you can clearly read his emotions through his beautifully expressive eyes, that every time he smiles at you all you want to do is stare at him for hours, maybe take a picture.
“Now let’s get home, and I can show you how fucking much I appreciate you.” He leads you by the hand again, but this time all you feel is giddy excitement coursing through your body.

“I’d lay you badly but I’d lay you gladly” (Roman Roy x fem!reader)
An: I’m gonna try. Let’s see how this goes. As an asexual (demisexual panromantic) I can feel it in my asexual bones that Roman is so part of the asexual club. Like he’s panromantic for sure he will date and flirt and be with anyone who makes him feel ~wiggly~ so to speak. I think he felt it with Gerri, and felt it with Tabitha. He feels like that pull toward them. And if given the chance he probs does want to bang. Like, he just never has that talk of ‘oh if I just stop thinking and let this person who I trust more then anything know what’s going on in my brain space then it works’ like our man is just. I love him because I am him.
I’m gonna tag @romeulusroy because I heard they were having a bad day and maybe soft roman can help
He liked looking at her when she didn’t know he was, he liked the feeling she gave him. A rush inside that he’s felt so few times in his life. Roman liked her smile, the way her lips split to show her teeth, the way her nose wrinkled when she didn’t like something. He liked her. Liked her? No he was pretty sure he loved her. Well what he assumed was love, he was pretty sure he’s only ever felt the emotion a handful of times.
Once when he was a kid and found a baby duck in the backyard pond of his mothers villa, it was so small and he helped it back into the pond where it’s family was. He remembers the feeling of warmth watching the mother goose bump it’s little tail back into place. He imagined every duck he saw after was somehow that one duck growing and visiting him.
He remembers the feeling when connor had popped him on the bathroom counter and bandaged up his scraped and bleeding knee. Connor was what he assumed his friends parents were like. He liked feeling cared for. Even if it was rare.
He likes listening to her ramble about her bullshit job of being a coffee runner most days, how she wishes she could punch Karl or frank or even his dad in the face when they forget her name, even though she’s worked under Gerri for at least 2 years.
He loves waking up next to her, always before her, something in him, maybe because of military school, maybe because he always wanted to be up before his siblings to hope that his dad would let him join him at the office, or to get the best pieces of bacon or toast for breakfast. Not anymore, now it was to be able to have the few moments of staring at her. Her softened face against the pillows, her worry stripped from her forehead. The moments when he could scratch her scalp lightly with his fingers and she would just sigh in her sleep.
He loved her. He would marry her if the fear of a marriage being the prison of unhappy people. From his parents to Tom and shiv and even Kendall. Though he would push all of it away if it meant a forever of seeing her like this.
He remembers the conversation that made him fall. Hard and fast and slamming him into the cold pavement.
“I’d lay you badly but I’d lay you gladly” it was a joke, she had laughed slightly looking down at her computer typing a report or email for Gerri or Karl or whoever was yanking her around this week.
“Roman we both know neither of us would enjoy that” it stung, she was right, but it stung.
“I mean I would rock your world for like a solid 3 seconds before you realise I have zero clue what’s going on” she had looked at him, cocking her head to the side, eye brow raised
“Roman. Can I ask you something.” He was caught off guard, his own walls coming up slightly, shrugging he looked around
“Yeah what’s up” he didn’t know why he couldn’t look at her suddenly but he just couldn’t.
“Do you know what asexuality is?” Asexuality? Obviously he did, biology and science was one class he knew he passed with more then a barley passing grade.
“Like fucking ameba and shit. They fuck themselves and bam! Another single celled whatever” she laughed, he turned to her then smiling a bit more
“I mean in the biology, organisms sense yeah, but like I mean in people,” Roman shrugged again shaking his head a little
“Some new fancy label the ‘woke’ mob has made to make people like my dad and Kendall rage for no reason?” She shook her head at that
“No Roman it means you don’t really like banging. Like, you could live with out it. So to speak, you could go your whole life never caring to want it. It wouldn’t change anything. And weird bathroom door Jack off sessions aside, it means your just not that into the whole sex thing” he felt his face flush at her mention of his brief weird relationship with Gerri. He simply looked at her
“I mean sex is…super cool….I love fucking, all night, we could do it right now, and it would be…explosive” he knew she could hear through his wavered tone
“Roman, do you know why I haven’t even pushed having sex?”
“I don’t know your weird and religious upbringing scared you for life with trauma?”
“Good guess but no…I’m asexual. Like, sex is just, a thing, I don’t care if we have it, or not, we could never and I would be 1000% okay with that. I don’t need you to bang me, how ever satisfying or not it would be, because I just, don’t need it.”
Roman stared at her then, his brain buzzing, heart slamming in his chest, he assumed like grace and Tabitha, one day you would clamber for him to attempt the unsuccessful routine of making out, hand stuff above his pants, a seemingly awkward game of red light green light before both of you gave up and you walked off to finish yourself in his bathroom.
“Roman, i haven’t brought it up, because if we never have sex ever, I wouldn’t care. It wouldn’t matter.”
He wanted to scream, and cry and hug her. He didn’t know why but he did. He simply stood up, walked over to her, yanked her up and kissed her. His hands holding her cheeks, hoping she understood what he meant in it.
When he pulled away she smiled at him nodding
“One day we may, who knows, but one thing is for sure. We’ll both lay each other badly”
“But gladly?”
“Yeah, but gladly”

Match made in heaven
Jason Todd x fem reader
The Outlaws’ mission had gone surprisingly well, and the team found themselves back at their safehouse sooner than expected. As they settled in, the usual post-mission debrief began. However, the tension between Jason Todd and you, the newest member of the team, was palpable.
You and Jason had clashed from day one. He was brash, impulsive, and arrogant. You were meticulous, strategic, and no-nonsense. Every conversation seemed to devolve into a heated argument, much to the amusement and occasional frustration of your teammates, Roy Harper and Kori (Starfire).
“Maybe if you actually followed the plan for once, Jason, we wouldn’t have had to improvise half the mission,” you snapped, arms crossed and eyes narrowed.
Jason rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair with a smug grin. “Oh, please. If we followed your boring plan, we’d still be there.”
“Boring? My plan was efficient. Your improvisation nearly got us caught!” You could feel the heat rising in your cheeks, a mix of anger and something else you refused to acknowledge.
Roy and Kori exchanged knowing glances but remained silent. This was a familiar scene for them.
“Look, both of you did great out there,” Roy interjected, attempting to diffuse the situation. “Can we just call it a night?”
“Fine,” you muttered, shooting one last glare at Jason before storming off to your room.
As the door slammed behind you, Jason’s smirk faltered. He ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident in his eyes.
“Man, you’ve got it bad,” Roy said, chuckling as he patted Jason on the shoulder.
“Shut up, Harper,” Jason growled, though his tone lacked venom. He knew Roy was right. Despite the constant arguments, Jason couldn’t help but be drawn to you. Your determination, your strength, your intelligence—everything about you fascinated him. But he couldn’t let himself show it.
Meanwhile, in the privacy of your room, you tried to calm the racing thoughts. Your mind replayed the arguments, but also the moments in between. The way Jason’s eyes softened when he thought no one was looking, the rare but genuine smiles, the times he’d saved you without hesitation. It was infuriating how much space he occupied in your thoughts.
A knock on your door pulled you from your reverie. Expecting it to be Kori, you were surprised to find Jason standing there, looking uncharacteristically unsure of himself.
“What do you want, Todd?” you asked, trying to sound as cold as possible.
He hesitated, then sighed. “We need to talk.”
“About what? How you’re always screwing up the missions?” you snapped, though your heart was pounding in your chest.
“No,” he said quietly, stepping into the room and closing the door behind him. “About us.”
You blinked, taken aback. “What are you talking about?”
“I’m talking about this… thing between us,” he said, frustration lacing his voice. “I know we argue all the time, and I know I’m a pain in the ass, but I can’t stop thinking about you.”
Your breath caught in your throat. “Jason…”
“I know you hate me,” he continued, “and maybe I deserve it. But I can’t pretend anymore. I like you. A lot. And it’s driving me crazy.”
You stared at him, heart racing. “You think I hate you?” you whispered.
“Don’t you?” he asked, looking genuinely confused.
You shook your head, a small laugh escaping your lips. “No, Jason. I don’t hate you. You drive me insane, but it’s because… because I care about you.”
His eyes widened, and for a moment, neither of you spoke. Then, with a tentative smile, Jason took a step closer. “So, what do we do about it?”
You smiled back, a weight lifting from your shoulders. “Maybe we start by not fighting all the time.”
He chuckled, closing the distance between you. “I think I can manage that.”
As his lips met yours, all the tension and frustration melted away, leaving only the truth that had been there all along. The Outlaws might have their challenges, but with Jason by your side, you knew you could face anything together.

Roy/Jamie prompt: Just Roy and Jamie running to each other, crashing into each other hard enough their bones almost bend as they kiss each other senseless because both thought the other had been killed in some horrific disaster. Tears are shed and I love yous said over and over again as they desperately cling to each other.
Woo! Ow! Yes!
The car had been slammed into by a truck. It was bad. Everyone was alive as far as people could tell.
Suddenly Roy started yelling for Jamie. The blond went missing. No one could find him.
A paramedic grabbed Roy and forced him to sit back on the edge of the bumper. “Yelling for him won’t make him magically appear, stop, sit. Let me stitch this. You’ll need a cast at the hospital, come on. Hop in.”
Roy can only nod. She’s gentle with it. He sees the flash of a paparazzi camera. He ducks his head, the only thing on his mind right now is Jamie. Or Jamie not breathing or Jamie bleeding out or Jamie being so hurt.
The paramedic taps his arm, “stop that your heart just jumped.”
He nods in apology he sits still until they get to the hospital.
-
Jamie had seen the girl get tagged by the cars. He took off after her, she was bleeding pretty badly. Couldn’t be more then 15, he’s carrying her back to where he knows the paramedics showed up.
He can’t see Roy.
There’s one less ambulance then there was a few minutes ago. Christ is Roy in that ambulance?
What if Roy is dead.
Jamie shakes that thought from his head, he sets the girl on the ground so she can get help.
They tug him down a moment later when they see his head bleeding. His wrist is fucked but he’s mostly worried about Roy’s arm from where it shot out to stop Jamie from slamming forward.
“Come on Mr Tartt, you’ll need a soft cast for that sprain. To the hospital with you.”
Jamie nods, he figures it will take him closer to Roy one way or the other.
—
Roy is released from the room to sign papers, he’s got a green cast. Jamie would smile at that. He still hasn’t been able to find anything out about Jamie.
He’s starting to really freak out. He goes over and collapses into a chair. He puts his head in his hand. Quietly he thinks to himself what if that was it. Those were the final moments.
Jamie talking about wanting to go to a country side manor in Italy and Roy agreeing. Roy supposes all things considered it was a good conversation. He was just thinking about how it would be the perfect place to propose when the truck slammed into them head on.
Thank god it was a 25mph road.
Roy hears a voice that he swears is Jamie, but that’s impossible, he’s not found Jamie.
“No goddamn it where is he. Roy Kent. What room. Or-” there’s a choked sob that makes Roy look up, “what body bag number.”
It’s Jamie. He’s got blood in his hair and a soft cast on a wrist but looks better and more alive then Roy could ever imagine.
“Jamie.” Roy stands as he says it, Jamie’s head whips around. He gasps and flies over to Roy. They slam into each other.
If neither of them had broken ribs before they might now. Roy can’t stop pressing a kiss to Jamie’s head.
Jamie pulls back and kisses Roy with so much force he thinks he feels his lip bleed.
Roy kisses back just as hard. “Love you, god I love you, thought you were gone baby I love you.”
Jamie squeezed Roy, he kisses across Roy’s face, “love you too, thought you were dead, never allowed to do that again I love you.”
They collapse onto the couch that’s shoved into the corner of the waiting room. Jamie craws as close as he can get into Roy’s lap. Roy wraps his arms as tightly as he can around Jamie’s waist.
They kiss fairly often, a nurse comes by to tell them they’re allowed to leave, they call an Uber.
-
At their house they strip off the clothing, don’t even bother with the washer, it goes straight into the trash. Too much blood.
They end up in bed, Jamie is laying on top of Roy, his fingers are buried in Roy’s hair. Roy has his hand on Jamie’s back tracing all the patterns he can think of.
They’ve both been crying lightly at points. Said I love you more times then either of them can count.
They drift off asleep like that. They get a week off from playing and coaching to readjust, everyone understands. They all threatened to drive them home if they showed up at all.
The rest of the week is spend in bed and on the couch, it might’ve started out horrible but by the end the time they spent together almost (not really) made up for it. Roy gets pissed he can’t chop things like normal so they eat a bunch of meal plan approved take out.

Dreams That Are Mine Anyway - Part 2
Emily had never felt exhaustion like it.
Part 1 can be found here
Words: 1.7k
Warnings: Pregnancy
Read over on Ao3, or below the cut
“Sweetheart?”
Emily smiles at the sound of her husband’s voice, a welcome sound after a long day in the house by herself. Maternity leave was boring her to the point of tears, but she was so close to her due date now. Just a week to go until their baby would be born. Aaron, and all the books they’d read, told her this was her time to rest. To get some much-needed sleep until the baby arrived, but she found herself unable to do so. Whether it was discomfort, the baby moving or restless energy she couldn’t explain despite her exhaustion, she couldn’t sleep.
It was slowly driving her insane.
“I’m in the living room, honey,” she calls back, shifting as much as she can on the couch, feeling breathless as the baby seems to take up all of the space where her lungs used to be.
“Where’s Jack?” Aaron asks as he appears in the doorway of the living room, leaning on the back of the couch to smile at her.
“Jess picked him up from school and took him to hers,” she says, smiling tiredly at him, “it seemed easier than her dropping him off only to pick him up to take him to Roy’s in the morning.”
Emily smiles up at Aaron as the kisses the top of her head before rounding the couch, shifting her legs so he can slip under them before placing them on his lap.
“Did you manage to sleep at all?” He asks, squeezing at her knee. She throws him a sharp look, and he nods, “I’m going to take that as a no.”
“Of course I didn’t sleep,” she groans, running one of her hands over her bump, “he never stops moving long enough for me to get any rest, and when he does I can’t get comfortable.”
“Only a week until she gets here,” he says, flashing a smile at her as she rolls her eyes at him. They had decided early on that they didn’t want to know what they were having, so they had played this game for months. A back and forth they both enjoyed.
“If I don’t go overdue,” she laments, “My doctor said I might,” she smiles as the baby kicks particularly sharply. She grabs Aaron’s hand and places it on her bump, her smile widening as he looks just as awed by it as he did the first time all those months ago, “What time are the team getting here?”
The monthly pasta nights had switched to their house when Emily started her third trimester, the exhaustion from her first trimester returning like an old friend. Dave still insisted on cooking, which neither Emily nor Aaron were going to argue with, but it meant she was able to have her home comforts around her, or nap until the team arrived.
“In about an hour,” he replies, “I’ll go make sure the kitchen is ready for Dave. You have plenty of time to go upstairs and get changed.”
She raises an eyebrow at him and points at her outfit, an old t-shirt of his and a pair of maternity leggings.
“What’s wrong with what I’m wearing?” She asks, and his eyes go wide as he tries to backtrack.
“Nothing, sweetheart, you look beaut-”
“Aaron, honey, I’m kidding,” she says, laughing, her smile wide as he sighs in relief. Her mood was impossible to keep track of these days, something he knew she hated and the last thing he wanted to do was upset her by mistake. Again. “You are going to have to help me up though.”
He stands and watches as she swings her legs over the end of the couch so she can stand too, and he offers her both of his hands. He pulls her up and she smiles gratefully at him, leaning in to press a kiss to his lips.
Thank you,” she says, kissing him again, “Are you sure you don’t want any help with the kitchen?”
He doesn’t mention that she wouldn’t have been any help even if she wasn’t 9 months pregnant, knowing that would be like waving a red flag to a bull, he simply shakes his head and kisses her cheek.
“I’ve got it, sweetheart,” he places a hand on her belly and smiles at the movement of their child underneath her skin, “You go get ready.”
He watches as she walks away, her hand pressing into her back as she talks softly to the baby, and he wonders when his life got this good.
___
“Where’s, Em?”
Aaron smiles at Penelope as he stands aside to let her into the house, “Good to see you too, Garcia.”
“I see your chiselled face every day, bossman. I haven’t seen Peaches in forever,” Penelope says in her own defence as she walks past him, closely followed by JJ and Spencer.
“Emily started her maternity leave 12 days ago,” Spencer adds, his eyebrows furrowed together.
“Exactly,” Penelope says, “Forever.”
Aaron smiles at their antics and shakes his head, “She went upstairs to get changed, I’ll go get her,” he says, “Dave and Morgan are already in the kitchen.”
He takes the stairs two at a time, smirking to himself as he hears the team all greet each other like it had been days since they last saw year other, not the mere hour it had been since they’d all left the office.
He opens the bedroom door, and he’s met by the sight of her fast asleep on their bed, on top of the covers, curled around her pregnancy pillow. She’s still in his t-shirt and her leggings, a sure sign that she had told herself she’d lay down for a moment before she changed but promptly fell asleep instead. He smiles and walks over, leaning down to press a kiss to her forehead as he pulls the throw from the end of the bed over her. She doesn’t even flinch and he slowly walks back out of the room, ensuring he’s as quiet as possible as he closes the door behind him.
He heads back down the stairs and walks into the kitchen, smiling when he sees Penelope’s face fall when it’s just him who walks into the room.
“No, Em?” She asks, pouting slightly, and he shakes his head.
“She fell asleep?” JJ asks, a knowing smile on her face as she takes a sip of her wine, and Aaron nods in response, “I could barely sleep when I got to this stage, and when I did Will was in trouble if he woke me up.”
“And that is exactly why we’re going to stay quiet, ok?” Aaron says, looking at them all, not above using his ‘Hotch’ face to intimidate them all into it.
“Of course, Hotch,” Derek says, putting his hands up as if he was in defence of himself, “We’ll keep quiet.”
Dave drops the saucepan lid as Derek speaks, the metal hitting the hardwood floor hard as the sound echoes around the house. They all pause for a second, waiting to see if they hear a door open upstairs, but only silence follows. Aaron looks at Dave who avoids eye contact.
“Dave-”
“I know, I know,” Dave says, stirring the sauce in front of him, “Shut the fuck up.”
___
Emily slowly wakes up, sighing as she stretches slightly, the familiar feeling of her baby rolling in her stomach making her smile. She opens her eyes and sees her husband sitting up next to her. He has a hand in her hair, gently running his fingers through it in the way she loved. His other hand was balancing the instalment booklet for the car seat, something he’d already read a dozen times, as he prepared to put it in the car in the morning.
“Aaron?” She asks, and he looks at her, immediately booking the booklet down as he lays down next to her, kissing her forehead.
“Hi sweetheart,” he says, “How are you feeling after your sleep?”
“What time is it?” She asks, ignoring his question as she tries to remember when she fell asleep in the first place. She yawns, the action turning into a sleepy smile as she looks up at him.
“11 pm,” he replies, and it takes a moment for what he’s said to register. She tries to sit up, but can’t, encumbered by her belly.
“What? How long did I sleep?” She asks, “What about the team? Why didn’t you wake me?”
He suppresses a smile at the barrage of questions, the indignation on her face somewhat adorable.
“I think you must have fallen asleep the moment you came up here,” he says, tucking some hair behind her ear, and covering a chuckle with a cough as she bats his hand away, “And I didn’t wake you up because you’ve barely slept in days, sweetheart. The team understood.”
She scoffs, “I can’t believe you just let me sleep through them being here.”
“Would you rather I woke you up?” He asks carefully, and her frown somehow deepens.
“No! I’m so tired, if you’d have woken me up it would have been cruel.”
“So, what you’re saying is…there was no winning for me in this scenario?” He asks, smiling at her as he runs his hand up and down her back, soothing the spots he knew hurt the most. She furrows her brow as if she’s considering it before she sighs, relaxing slightly as she reaches up to push his hair off of his forehead.
“I’m sorry.”
“What for?” He asks grabbing her hand to kiss her knuckles, rubbing his thumb over the spot on her finger where her wedding rings usually laid. Her fingers were too swollen to wear them right now, so she was wearing them on a chain around her neck he’d bought her when he found her crying over the fact her rings were, briefly, stuck on her hand.
“For being unreasonable.”
“Baby,” he says, kissing the top of her head, “You’re 39 weeks pregnant, you’re allowed to be as unreasonable as you want.”
There’s a brief pause, a moment of silence before she tilts her head backwards to look at him, her eyes narrowed.
“So you do think I’m being unreasonable?”

My Brother's Best Friend Is The One For Me
Wally West x Batsis!Reader One-Shot
Word Count: 3.6K Warnings: Explicit Language
Author's Note: Got to rereading my Batsis fics and came across the "What A Flashy Romance" and wanted to do another one with Wally because I love him. Enjoy! -Thorne
Being the middle child and also the only girl in the Batfamily meant two things:
1. She had four brothers that treated her like a porcelain doll, despite the fact that she could throw a punch at 336 PSI.
And
2. She followed an unspoken rule that Dick and Jason’s friends were off limits when it came to dating.
In all, neither of those things were major problems. She’d learned at a young age how to avoid Dick and Jason’s overbearing-protective-brother-modes, and Tim and Damian were younger, so she didn’t have to worry about them. The second one was also avoidable—most of her older brothers’ friends were the same, and she wasn’t around most of them to develop any feelings.
Well, there was Wally, but it was just a crush. A stupid, little school-girl crush—that she’d never really grown out of—that didn’t matter in the slightest. Except whenever Dick brought him over to the house and she had to pretend that sitting next to him didn’t make her heart race like she’d run a mile.
And the most annoying thing about the whole crush is that she couldn’t tell if Wally was ever interested in her or not. Most of Dick’s friends, Garth, Kyle, Roy, they treated her like a little sister—hell, they even said “Love you lil sis!” to her regularly. And yet, Wally didn’t. Now, there was the occasional head pat, but even that was an affectionate gesture that siblings and SO’s did all the time. It was infuriating, and so was Wally—but she was going to sort it all out the next time he came over because the worst thing he could say was “No”, and either she needed to hear that…or “Yes”.
***
Normal Sundays for the Wayne household usually meant Ultimate Waffle Breakfast and sitting on your ass all day until patrol—it was the one day of the week where they could do anything and nothing and didn’t have to stick to schedules. Everyone loved Sundays, especially (Y/N), because it meant that all of her family was home, even Jason (who tried to deny that he enjoyed coming home to hang out, but if that mile long grin was any help, he was lying). And while everyone was home, that usually meant that everybody’s friends were coming over too.
***
She swiped the syrup out of Jason’s hand when he swung it back around, grinning at him when he glared at her.
“I was gonna use that, (Y/N),” he griped, and she shrugged, uncapping the bottle.
She tipped it over and watched the syrup lazily pour out of the container onto her waffles.
“You were taking too long.” Her eyes twinkled with humor. “I guess you were as…slow as molasses.”
While most of the table groaned at her terrible joke, Dick snorted into his milk, causing it to splatter on his plate and across the table.
“Nice one,” he coughed, wiping his face and the dark oak surface.
(Y/N) bowed dramatically. “Well, I did learn from the best.” When Dick’s face lit up, she turned to Alfred and smiled. “Alfie, thank you for teaching me your ways.”
The old butler merely tipped his head, a hidden smile crossing his lips at the way the eldest son’s jaw went slack. She turned her attention to Bruce who was quietly chewing, eyes following along the research paper she’d asked him to check out.
“Dad, what’s on your agenda for today?”
He swallowed and flicked a line out with a red pen, etching his own comment in the margin. “Lucius has a few ideas about some new gadgets he wanted to run by me.” Another line went out. “I’ll call him after breakfast.” Bruce looked at her. “You?”
(Y/N) nodded at the paper in his hands, then slapped Jason’s who was reaching over to take a piece of bacon from her plate. “Waiting for you to finish tearing me a new one so I can redo the paper.” She cut into the waffle with the side of her fork. “Once I salvage what little scientific dignity you’ve left me with, I’ll probably laze around.”
“You mean what you do normally?” Bruce quipped, grinning when she glowered at him; his eyes went back to her paper. “You’re doing well so far.”
She huffed. “Tell that to every red line you’ve marked out in that paragraph.”
He flashed the paper. “I’m writing in the margins how to change it. This isn’t a dissertation, sweetheart. You’re allowed to make mistakes. We all do.”
(Y/N) grumbled as her cheeks warmed and she went back to her plate as the conversation flowed around her.
Most of it was the discussion of what everyone was planning on doing, Damian was going to play video games, Tim was going to join him (which she knew was going to be fun while the moment lasted until the petty sibling rivalry got in the way and their gaming dwindled into a physical fight that she and probably Dick were going to have to break up), Jason was going to use the workbench in the cave to upgrade some gear, and Dick apparently,
“Wally and Garth are gonna come over later and hang out.”
She paused, mid-stab of her fork and looked at up. “Wally’s coming over?”
He nodded. “And Garth. We were gonna go to the mall and get some new clothes.”
Jason snorted, laying an arm over the backs of Tim and (Y/N)’s chairs. “Spending money with daddy’s credit card, Dickie?”
Dick smirked. “Just like you.” Jason merely matched his grin, and while the entire table was cracking up at Bruce’s frown, (Y/N) was silent, heart beating faster at the thought of seeing Wally.
“(Y/N)?” She startled and looked up at Dick.
“Huh?”
“I asked if you were okay. You got quiet all of the sudden.”
She smiled and shook her head. “Yeah, just thought about all of the corrections I’m gonna have to do because somebody CAN’T STOP MARKING OUT MY PARAGRAPHS.” Bruce merely smiled and knocked out another line.
It was a lie. It was the biggest lie she’d told right next to the one she told when Bruce had asked her where she was on prom night her senior year a few years ago—she was totally not saving a different sector of the universe with Kyle Rayner, she was dancing with Sam Reilly all night—she strongly believed her dad knew the truth—Batman knew everything.
Bruce handed the paper back to her and she groaned as she scanned the red lines on every page. It was going to take her hours to go over this.
Jason leaned over and read the title, “Cellular Division and Mutation Under Extreme Elemental Circumstances…a composition by (Y/N) Wayne.” He cocked a dark brow. “Go big or go home, huh, baby girl?”
(Y/N) hummed. “Doctor Halberd wanted us to pick challenging topics for the research paper this term.” A crooked smile crossed her lips. “I’m nothing if not ambitious about proving I’m smarter than everyone else.”
“You need another source,” Bruce murmured, sipping the steaming black coffee. “One-fourteen is good, but I’d go for one-fifteen.”
She groaned and dropped her head. “Are you kidding me? I had enough trouble gathering that many.”
“Why don’t you use Barry?” Tim piped up, mouth full of whip cream and strawberries.
“Master Timothy, we do not talk with our mouth full,” Alfred admonished, and Tim blushed.
(Y/N)’s head shot up and she stared at her brother. “That’s actually a good idea. Speedsters would make for perfect references about cellular division.” An idea popped into her head and she glanced at Dick. “And since Wally is com—”
“Nope,” Dick interrupted, pointing at her. “Wally is coming over to hang out, not to be poked and prodded to finish a paper.”
She let out a whine and turned to Bruce. “Dad, tell Dick to let me at least talk to Wally about it.”
Bruce turned his attention onto Dick. “Let your sister talk to Wally about her paper.”
“Oh, come on,” he complained and (Y/N) stood from her seat, hurrying around the table to stand behind Dick’s seat.
She draped herself over his shoulders, tucking her chin in the crook of his neck. “I promise I won’t be annoying if you let me come with you. I’ll ask two questions every thirty minutes and I’ll go do shopping on my own, so I won’t be in the way.” (Y/N) craned her neck and pulled the most pitiful puppy eyes she could. “Please?”
Dick’s eyes darted to her face and then he looked away. Just one more push.
“Please frate?” she begged and when his eyes went wide from the usage of his native tongue, she knew she’d won him over.
He deflated and let out a sigh. “Fine,” he grumbled. “You can come with us.”
(Y/N) squealed and pressed a kiss to his cheekbone, as she grabbed the paper and hurried towards the door. She halted and spun around, looking at her father.
“What do I need to be most specific about?”
“Division under elemental circumstances.”
She glowered at him. “No shit Sherlock. Specifics.”
“Molecular division under terrestrial gamma-ray flashes.”
“That’ll work,” (Y/N) nodded and exited to room.
Jason looked out the door then back to his brothers. “She’s way to excited about science sometimes.” They merely laughed.
***
She raised the red lace, cold shoulder V-neck shirt to her chest before frowning, and switching it with the full lace blue shirt with mini golden lightning bolt charms hanging off the trim. After a moment, she pulled the blue one down and sighed.
“You know, if you want to impress him, I’d wear the red shirt.”
She jumped and barely managed to suppress the scream that was coming up in her throat as she swiveled around to face her door. Jason stood in the doorway, a knowing look on his face. She could play this one of two ways: she could be truthful, or she could lie—she chose the latter.
“What do you mean?” He snorted and walked into her room, taking a seat at her desk.
“I mean if you’re trying to impress Wally, wear the shirt that’s the color of his suit, (Y/N).” She looked away and into the mirror, but she couldn’t escape the eyes boring into her back.
“Is it that obvious?” she asked quietly, and he laughed.
“That you’re head over heels for Dick’s best friend? Oh yeah. Totally.”
She sighed and sat on her bed, pulling the red top over her torso. “It’s just a crush.”
“Seems like more than a crush to me, baby girl.”
(Y/N) pulled the fabric down and looked at him. “Are you gonna tell Dick?”
Jason scoffed. “Do I look like a narc to you?”
She cocked a brow and deadpanned, “Just the other night you told dad that Damian lifted Two-Face’s wallet when he was being put in a cruiser.”
“Well, that wasn’t something important,” he countered and nodded at her. “This is.” He paused and shrugged. “Nah, I’m not gonna tell Dickhead. Play this out however you see fit, baby girl.”
(Y/N) stared at him for a moment then averted her gaze and let out a sigh; Jason huffed.
“That sounds like a heavy sigh, (Y/N). What’s wrong?”
She shrugged. “I don’t even know if Wally would be interested in me. He’s him and I’m me.”
Jason stood and walked over, kneeling in front of her. “Hey, what’s that supposed to mean?”
(Y/N) met his eyes. “Anytime he’s had a girlfriend she’s always been super strong or really outspoken.”
“And you’re not?” he quipped, causing her to huff.
“You know what I mean, Jay.”
He nodded. “Okay, so you’re not an Amazon or shoving your head up someone’s ass for a story. But you’re you.”
“And that means?”
“You’re the only daughter of the World’s Greatest Detective who’s a wicked smart science major by day and a badass vigilante by night.” He cupped her cheeks. “You are intelligent, warmhearted, talented, and absolutely beautiful.” Jason smushed her cheeks together and grinned as she giggled. “And if Wally doesn’t see any of what I just said, then he’s a damn fool and not worth your time. You hear me, baby girl?”
She nodded. “I hear you.”
Jason gave her a firm nod and let go, standing to his feet. “Now come on let’s go do your makeup.”
(Y/N) blinked. “You can do makeup?”
“Baby girl, I can do a lot of things. Now hurry up. That razor sharp eye liner and golden eyeshadow isn’t going to do itself.”
***
She waited beside Dick with a pleasant smile on her face, and despite the fluttering heartbeat in her chest, Jason’s pep talk kept running through her head and with every passing moment, she felt her confidence rising. He was right, if she told Wally and he didn’t feel the same, then it was his loss and her gain to move on and find someone else.
A black sedan pulled up at the manor and the passenger window rolled down, revealing Wally at the wheel and Garth in the passenger’s seat. Dick waved at them.
“Hey guys,” he greeted. “How was the drive over?”
“Oh, you know, we saw three carjacking’s and one armed robbery,” Garth quipped. “I assume that’s normal for Gotham though.”
“It’s a bit below average actually,” (Y/N) piped up. “Hi Garth. Hi Wally.”
Wally smiled and Garth waved in return as the two siblings started getting in the car.
“You’re coming with us, (Y/N)?” Wally questioned and she nodded.
“Do you want me to lie to you or give you the truth?”
He chuckled. “I’m always open for a good story.”
“I wanted to buy out Victoria’s Secret and piss off any boyfriends who are in hot water with their girlfriends.” The guys laughed and she admitted, “Truth though, I need one last source for a research paper.”
“Gonna find that source shopping?” Garth asked and (Y/N) caught Wally’s eyes in the rear-view mirror.
“Actually, my last source is Wally.”
They fell silent and looked at her, though the speedster’s focus was on the road.
“What are you gonna source Wally on?” The Atlantean inquired.
“My paper is over cellular mutation under distress from elemental conditions.” She smiled at Wally. “Our speedster here, is a walking subject perfect for the paper. I can only hope that he agrees to be a willing participant.”
Wally chuckled. “I’d be willing to part with a few secrets for you. Of course, I’d have to—”
“Remain anonymous.” (Y/N) winked. “I’m sure my professor would be okay with me citing ‘The Flash’ so long as I had a picture with him to back it up.”
“I like pictures,” he murmured, pulling into the parking lot.
“That’s good to know,” she replied and when he put the car in park, she took her purse and added, “So I’ll leave you boys to do your shopping and Wally, I’ll text you any questions I have.”
“You’re not gonna hang around?” Garth asked and she shook her head.
“Nah, I don’t wanna be the annoying little sister who follows her older brother and his friends around.” She smiled at them. “Besides, Dick was kind enough to let me come along. Least I can do is stay out of your way.”
(Y/N) opened the door and waved at them. “Text me when you’re ready to leave and I’ll meet you back here.”
***
Despite the initial joke that she was going to buy out the lingerie store, there was actually some truth in the statement, and she drew her fingers over one of the lace baby dolls as she looked at her phone, grinning like a dope at Wally’s response.
Well, I wouldn’t say I’d grow a second skin from how fast my cells regenerate, but I can make my body heal instantaneously. -W
Can you regenerate limbs or major organs? –(Y/I)
Major organs or useful ones? -W
(Y/N) paused at his response and thought for a moment. It was risky. Sending the text, she was thinking about was risky, but it’d sure get her point across that she was into him. With her heart hammering in her chest, she pushed send and stuck her phone in her pocket.
Whichever ones are useful to you, Wally? ;) –(Y/N)
Her phone didn’t buzz for a good minute, and Wally took less than a second to reply, so he was doing one of two things: A.) Telling Dick that his younger sister sent a flirty text, or B.) Trying to figure out how to let her down easy. (Y/N) didn’t know which one was worse. Her hip buzzed and she inhaled shakily, pulling her phone out of her pocket with one eye cracked open to see how screwed she was.
Do you have a useful one in mind, beautiful? -W
She had to clamp a hand over her mouth to keep from letting out the biggest gasp any human had ever made, and she nervously looked around her to make sure no one else was staring at her. She grinned as she replied to him.
Oh, I could think of one…or two or three…Why? Is there gonna be a pop quiz over this later? I’ll have you know I’m an excellent test taker. –(Y/N)
Is that so? Well, what happens if you were to fail this particular pop quiz, (Y/N)? -W
I guess you’d have to stay the night for a study session and help me make a better grade ;) –(Y/I)
As she waited for another response, someone’s hand touched the small of her back and she reacted, immediately stepping away from the offending touch to spin on them. Her eyes went wide when she saw Wally standing before her, a grin on his face, phone in his hand.
“I think an overnight study session is possible, (Y/N).”
Her mouth opened and closed repeatedly, like a fish until she finally got her brain to work and asked, “I thought you were shopping with Dick and Garth?”
He shrugged. “Told Dick you asked me an advanced question that’d be easier to answer in person than over text.” He wiggled his brows. “You know, advanced equations and scientific gibberish.”
(Y/N) huffed a laugh and turned back around, trying to ignore the heat in her cheeks as she picked up one of the teddies. And when she realized what it looked like, she only felt more flustered. Crimson with baby blue trimming and was practically a shoelace.
“Well, that’sa hint if there ever was one,” Wally quipped, and she pulled the lingerie out of his line of sight.
“It was just the first one I grabbed!” she exclaimed, snapping her mouth shut when people looked over at them. Her cheeks felt like they were wildfires, and she pressed her head against the cool metal of the rack, sighing with what little relief it provided.
“You know, (Y/N),” he started softly. “If you’re not comfortable, this doesn’t have to go anywhere. I can forget this ever happened if you want me to.” (Y/N) opened her eyes and peered at him, at the concern but also the kindness in his gaze.
“I just—” she murmured and trailed off before letting out a sigh. “It’s kinda complicated.”
“Okay,” Wally nodded. “My mouth might work faster than my brain sometimes but lay it on me.”
She cracked a smile and thought back on Jason’s words. If Wally doesn’t see any of what I just said, then he’s a damn fool and not worth your time.
(Y/N) took a deep breath and looked at him, admitting, “Wally, I have…feelings for you.” His eyes widened and though she felt the sting of embarrassment, she pushed out her words. “It’s stupid, like one of those dumb childhood crushes that just sticks with you, you know?”
She averted her gaze and looked at her peep toe heels. “I just don’t wanna screw anything up because even if you don’t feel anything like I do, I don’t wanna lose you as a friend. Because I do value your friendship.” She sighed. “And Dick. I don’t wanna make you uncomfortable about coming over to see him if there’s a chance you’ll have to see me too. I just—”
“Woah, woah, woah,” Wally interrupted gently, a smile growing on his face. “You’re thinking way big here, (Y/N). Bigger than you need to right now.”
She met his eyes. “Right now?” she repeated, and he reached out, taking her hand in his. His fingers felt tingly against her palm and he smiled.
“I like you, (Y/N).”
She blinked at him, practically dumbfounded. “You…you do?”
Wally nodded and confessed, “Have for a couple years, but I didn’t wanna make a move not knowing if you were interested.” His cheeks tinged pink, and he said, “But I’m glad you are. Like super glad.” (Y/N) giggled, suddenly feeling really foolish for all her worry and Wally let out a chuckle too.
She stared at him for a moment, relishing the coolness of his skin before pulling away, toying with the teddy in her other hand.
“So, about tonight…you staying over?”
Wally let out a groan and looked between her and the lingerie. “Probably, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to get away long enough to spend some time alone with you.”
(Y/N) let out a ‘pfft’ and winked. “I’m sure you’ll figure it out, Flash. You are the fastest man alive.”
“You’re into quickies? Good to know,” he grinned.
“Shut up,” she giggled.

forgotten - ii. confrontation

note: this one was a long time coming. part 3 will be better, i swear. 😅
part 1 | part 3 coming soon.
You’ve been living in the new city for almost three months now when Hailey and Jay walked up the steps to your apartment, knowingly aware that you deserved better but they couldn’t help themselves.
After the Roy Walton case closed, they immediately requested a week off and now there they were ringing the doorbell to your new place.
With a glass of wine in hand you heard the ring of the doorbell echo through your apartment.
You checked through the blinds, and sighed before opening the door. Hailey was tugging the winter jacket close to her body and Jay’s hands were tucked into his jean pockets, a baseball cap sitting backwards on top of his buzzed haircut.
You immediately felt a chilled breeze come through the opening and after letting go of the door, with your free hand, you adjusted the blanket and raised a brow in their direction.
Jay took that as a queue to begin the conversation. “Hi, how’s work been at the new job?”
Hailey elbowed him and looked at you in the eyes. The color of them was always something that she loved. “I’m so sorry for the way we reacted. And neither of us have been entirely honest… Can we come in and explain?”
She looked sincere and you had been with them for almost three years so you couldn’t not accept an explanation. After all, you hadn’t received the closure you felt that you deserved.
“Sure.” Voicing with uncertainty, you opened the door wider and gestured for them to come inside.
Hailey walked through the door first hand in hand with Jay, pulling him inside with her and then paused to allow him a second to shut the door and flip the lock.
When Jay turned and glanced around, he was impressed with how you had filled the rooms within only a little over two and a half months. Especially being as you were a cop working impossible hours throughout the week.
“Nice place you’ve got here.” He commented in a sad, melancholy tone. Knowing that you were getting settled in all on your own was like a stab to his heart.
“Yeah, I got lucky with this place since it was last minute and all.” You shrugged and sipped your drink after sitting down on the couch. The plush throw was still laid around your shoulders as a comforting presence.
“So, what we’re about to tell you is all off-record. The night Kim was taken and attacked, I-I followed Voight and he was with Roy. I was able to salvage the situation but he reached for Voight’s gun. And since we hadn’t told anybody about our location, I had to shoot him as self defense and we couldn't do anything except hide his body—” Hailey admitted.
“—Geez Hails, are you okay?” You questioned after placing your glass down on the end table next to the couch.
Jay could see the concern in your eyes and wanted to reassure you. “She’s fine, b-i mean y/n. Long story short, the case was closed without a link to Intelligence.”
You nodded knowing that if they had reason to cover something like that, then it was a necessary life or death situation.
“So, Hailey was a prime suspect? Was the open case and targeting of her the reason for her panic attacks?” You asked, trying to analyze the situation with a glance towards Jay, genuine concern written all over your face.
“That's half of the reason. Well, the fact that I became a suspect and the constant questioning was a triggering reminder for me. I couldn’t sleep at night and I was suffering from flashbacks of that night. Imagining the blood on my hands was the worst.”
You nodded with understanding and quietly commented, “It’s not your fault.” She gave you a small smile and continued, “When you and Jay fell asleep, I stared at the ceiling until the sun came up and the alarm went off for work. It was awful.” She sighed and you frowned.
“And I knew because I confronted Voight after noticing how odd he was acting. It reminded me of the situation with Erin and Alvin. And so of course I inserted myself because it’s not fair for him to hide valuable information from the team. It could put us in danger and I didn’t want him to become reckless again. So I formed a plan with him to get rid of the FBI agent that was sniffing around to place blame.” Jay said with empathy and care.
You shimmied out of the blanket that was around your shoulders before getting up and grabbing your empty glass. Walking over to the small table by the winery collection cabinet, you poured another half glass of wine to gulp down.
You could see the concern in their eyes when you turned back around to face them.
But it wasn’t fair for them to be concerned about you when Hailey had gone through something life changing that would be stuck with her forever.
“I feel like a jerk now. You were struggling and I was just feeling left out.” You commented and looked down with guilt.
The pair stood up quickly and walked over to you. Jay wrapped an arm around your middle, pulling you close into his side. “It’s not your fault, it’s ours because you didn’t know.”
Meanwhile, Hailey grabbed your hands and interlaced them to offer you some support. “And it’s no excuse either that we left you in the dark. I’m okay baby. I’m so sorry we left you in the dark but we were concerned for your safety. Jay and I wanted to protect you but I promise no more secrets okay?” She said and you soaked in her promising words with the glint of love in her eyes.
“No more secrets between the three of us,” Jay agreed then added. “And Voight told me that he will come to me from now on. Intelligence is okay now, we’re okay now sweet girl.” Jay spoke in a low whisper and gave you a big squeeze before wrapping his arms around your middle, readjusting so your back was leaning against his chest.
Hailey stood on the other side of you and kissed your cheek. “Will you come home now, please?” She questioned but you had a better idea in mind first.
With a smirk you glanced between the both of them before asking. “Wanna stay over tonight?”

I Thought You Hated Me (Jamie Tartt x gn!reader)
When the reader is forced to share a bed with Jamie feelings are shared.
Rating: T
Warning: small angst
A/N: Wrote something up for Jamie and will probably write something for Sam as well. But if you have any ideas or requests please send them my way!!
You were sort of Keeley’s assistant. That was your unofficial title. So you joined the team on away games. And usually you got to share a room with Keeley. Most hotels had two beds per room so you each would take a bed and stay up talking and watching tv. She was a great friend to you so you quite enjoyed the away games.
But ever since she’d started dating Roy she usually slept with him. You understood why of course, but you usually ended up bunking with whoever didn’t have a room. Sometimes it was Ted, sometimes Rebecca, sometimes it was a player. All of the time it was purely professional and nice. You each went to your separate beds and got good sleep.
But of course this time a wrench had to be thrown into the whole system. First off, you were stuck with Jamie. Sure, he was better nowadays, but you couldn’t help but still have a bit of a bad taste in your mouth when it came to him. He was a prick to you. He hadn’t been recently, but that still didn’t matter. And on top of that he had the audacity to be attractive! The nerve of that guy.
Second off, the room you got stuck with only had one bed. Well, that was just great. Everyone else had two and Ted offered to change with you, ever the gentleman, but you didn’t want him to have a hard time sleeping. He was the coach after all. You could afford to not get good sleep.
No, you just sucked it up, making your way to the room. When you walked in, Jamie was on the floor.
“What are you doing?” You questioned.
“Getting settled for the night.” He said as if it was obvious.
“No, this isn’t going to work. You should take the bed. You have to play tomorrow.” You were surprised he hadn’t already taken the bed. But apparently he was reformed. This was slowly starting to make you think he was.
“Slept in worse conditions.” He shrugged. Knowing a little bit about his dad, you felt bad for him.
“That doesn’t change anything, get on the bed.” You said. He smirked.
“Are you propositioning me?”
“I’m surprised you know that word.” You said sarcastically. He only laughed but made no signs of getting up. You sighed and shook your head. “Stop being dumb. I’m gonna go get ready for bed.” You said, taking your night stuff into the bathroom.
When you exited the bathroom he was still on the floor. He got up though, but headed for the bathroom, not saying anything. You saw this as the perfect opportunity. When the door shut, you laid on the ground in the spot he’d previously been. Now he had to take the bed.
When he made his way out of the bathroom and saw you, he gave a small laugh before walking over.
“Get your ass up, we’re both sleeping in the bed.” He said, accompanying it with an eye roll. You raised your eyebrows.
“Are you sure? That wouldn’t make you uncomfortable?”
“It’d make me more uncomfortable knowing you were sleeping on the ground. Now come on, I don’t have all night.” He said, offering a hand to pull you up. You accepted it and took the pillow with you.
“If I wake up in the middle of the night and you’re on the ground I’m dragging you back up here.” You threatened, though you knew that was probably impossible. He was a professional football player and you? Well, you weren’t.
He laughed but shook his head, moving the covers to get in after turning out the light. You joined, keeping as much distance from him as possible. He seemed to notice.
“I’m not gonna bite or anything. You don’t have to fall off the bed or anything. Or am I just that revolting to you?” He said jokingly, but it didn’t sound like he put much effort into it. You rolled over to face him.
“I don’t think you're revolting. I just don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”
“Would you be uncomfortable?” He asked. You thought for a moment but shook your head. “Alright then. Neither would I.” He said, gesturing for you to come closer.
You finally relented, scooting closer, but only by a few inches. He didn’t seem like he was going to say anything else on the matter.
But he wasn’t done talking.
“I know this isn’t ideal for you but it’s just for a night.” He said. You were confused at this.
“I mean, yeah, this wasn’t what I had in mind for tonight. But I wouldn’t say it’s not ideal.”
“You practically hate me. I get it, don’t get me wrong, but I figured you’d object more to this.” He said.
“I don’t hate you. I’m actually really proud to see you aren’t a prick anymore. But you were rude to me and I can’t help but be a little suspicious about the whole thing.” You said frankly. He sighed. “I know. And I’m sorry. There was no reason for it except that it made me feel a bit better. Only for a second and then I’d feel like complete shit again. But I never intend on doing that again. I’m trying to be better.”
“I can tell. I’m glad you’re trying. I’d say it’s a success.” You said with a small smile.
“I’m happy you think so.” He smiled back. You laid like that for a moment until something hit you.
“So is this ideal for you?” You questioned. He seemed to not hear at first and you were about to ask again until he finally spoke.
“What? I mean, it could be worse. I don’t mind who’s with me.” He said with a shrug. “Just thought the first time we’d share a bed would be under other circumstances.” Your eyes widened but he shook his head. “Shit sorry. Force of habit.” He quickly said.
You stayed silent for a moment and he scooted away, adding more space between the two of you. You spoke up suddenly, heartbeat running wild.
“Have you thought about that?” You asked, looking anywhere but him.
“Yeah, but I’ve thought about it with pretty much everyone. Except Ted.” He said and you laughed, though you were a bit disappointed at that.
“Wouldn’t expect anything less.” You tried to keep the disappointment out of your voice. But he seemed to catch it anyway.
“I keep coming back to you though.” He said and you met his eyes.
“Why is that?”
“Because I think you’re amazing. And funny. ...And fit.” He admitted. You laughed at the last bit. But it did make your face heat up. You hoped he didn’t notice in the darkness of the room.
“High praise. Thanks.” You said. “But I think you’re amazing too. You’re strong, not just physically, but mentally too.” You said. “And you’re not bad looking either.”
You could see his smile in the darkness, brighter than before.
“Can I kiss you?” He asked. You nodded, moving closer.
He cupped your face and kissed you. It was passionate, laced with words unspoken. Feelings just now realized. It was breathtaking.
You both pulled back after a few moments, but neither of you moved too far away from each other.
“I really like you. After the game can I take you on a proper date?” He asked.
“I’d love that.” You said.
You kissed a few more times before sleep took you both. You woke up to his arms around you. You wouldn’t mind waking up like that more often, you thought to yourself. And you couldn’t wait until your date.

hi! i was wondering if you could do 6. Cinnamon and vanilla for the fall blurbs with roy?
2023 Fall Blurbs
London was always covered by a thick blanket of fog and rain, and while that could put a damper on your summer mood, it was perfect for autumn. You were able to light candles and snuggle under blankets and wear thick sweaters all season long, and you truly couldn’t be happier.
One of the best parts of the fall season in your opinion, though, was all of the treats you could make. Pies, pumpkin bread, cookies, and anything else that contained cinnamon or pumpkin was always on your list of things to bake. Sometimes you got so carried away over the weekend that you made Roy take in some of the baked goods for the players and staff at Nelson Road because you knew the two of you could never finish it all, even with Phoebe’s help.
Baking was the best stress reliever to you, and there was something about the gloomy weather and the spooky movies always on TV that put you in a baking mood, even after a wonderful week. That’s why Roy finds you in the kitchen today, windows propped open despite the rain and the entire house glowing orange from the lights and smelling like cinnamon and vanilla.
When you hadn’t shouted out a greeting when the front door opened, Roy had figured you were in the kitchen, knowing how you got in the zone and nothing could distract you. Sure enough, not even the thud of his bag hitting the ground was enough to pull your attention from the whisking you were doing, humming along to the music playing quietly from your phone. Enjoying the sight of you, Roy leans himself against the kitchen doorway to watch as you mix and pour and place trays into the oven, completely oblivious to his presence.
As much as Roy loved to watch you as you worked, at some point he couldn’t take it anymore and needed to make his presence known, needed to wrap you in his arms and hold you for a while because he’s never been the best with words. When he does move forward and gently grabs your waist, you jump against him, breath catching in your throat and almost spilling cookie batter all over the counter.
“Jesus, Roy, you scared me,” you say once your heart has settled, leaning back against the solid weight of your boyfriend, who has wrapped his arms around your waist and buried his head in your neck. Knowing you can’t mess up your rhythm, you continue to scoop and shape the cookies, waiting for the oven to go off so you can start the next tray.
“Sorry,” he mutters, but the way you feel him smile against your neck tells you that he isn’t sorry at all, “you smell nice.”
“It’s probably just the cookies,” you respond, unable to accept any compliment Roy gives you because of how overwhelmed you feel.
“No,” he inhales dramatically, “it’s you.”
And neither of you say another word because you don’t need to, you just stand and sway together in the kitchen as you wait for the timer to go off.

Jasonette July Day 1: Suit Up
EDIT: Written by The Maribat Pit Content warning: Swearing, there is a quote that is a reference to Titans!Jason, references to Chloe’s actions in “Battle of the Miraculous”. Rated: T Inspired by: that one Tumblr post that suggested what would happen if Jason used a Lucky Charm. Prompt: Suit Up The kidnappers had Marinette, and Jason knew that desperate times called for desperate measures. Marinette hadn’t returned home from her mission the night before, Plagg returned that morning without her. He explained that Marinette had managed to free most of the kidnapped kids, but she was captured shortly after being depowered. They assumed she was one of the kids that hadn’t managed to escape.
Jason went from slightly worried to absolutely frantic. Roy was still in rehab, and there was no time to call in the Bat clan for help, it was up to him. In his mind, the more time they wasted, the closer she came to sharing his fate. “Great, just fucking fantastic”, he muttered to himself “the bad guys have the girl you love and you’re here looking for her jewelry”. If he went in guns blazing as the Red Hood, they would probably just kill her instantly and without a second thought. That being said, she would probably kill him later for tearing through the apartment like this. He was flipping the bed on its side, opening all the drawers and pulling out all of the contents. He was trying to find the Chinese Miracle Box, thinking maybe someone in there would help him if it meant saving their Guardian. He remembered a conversation they had when his curiosity about her powers got the better of him.
“So what if you were to, hypothetically, use several of these things at once?” He remembered asking.
“I did once, the Multimouse clones were using different fusions. Wearing them all at once can be pretty draining, even the fusions can be pretty taxing at the best of times if I’m not careful” she explained.
She also explained what happened when her old classmate tried to put on various Miraculous at once and started demanding power from them. Suffice it to say she didn’t get her way. So, by the sound of things, Tikki was his best bet, or he’d probably end up pissing off the other ones like Chloe did.
He found the box in her closet and opened it, to find that Plagg’s ring was missing and so were Tikki’s earrings. He closed the box and pushed it back into the closet, before searching the room for the earrings. She had said something before about Plagg and Tikki being the least suspicious of him. Probably because their combined magic was what created the Lazarus pits, the very reason he wasn’t still six feet under. He finally noticed the small red and black box sitting on the chest of drawers, and he popped it open to find the earrings inside. He wasted no time putting the studs in one ear, before a pink ball of light appeared in front of him. The ball of light turned into Tikki who gave a little stretch and yawn before being startled to see Jason instead of Marinette in front of her. “Hey Tikki, sorry, no time to explain but Marinette’s in trouble” he spluttered, “please I need your help, I wouldn’t be asking otherwise”.
“If that’s true, then there’s no time to waste, let’s go!” Tikki exclaimed, “Just say the words and I’ll help you.” Jason’s mind suddenly drew a blank, as he tried to remember what words Marinette used to transform into Ladybug.
“Bug Prism Power Make Up?” he tried.
“He doesn’t know the magic words?” Plagg asked slyly, “our Guardian’s life is on the line and he doesn’t know the magic words”.
“I know that you’d make a nice chew toy for Brutus”, Jason snapped as he tried to think. “Go go Lucky Charm?” he tried, Tikki shook her head.
“Lucky charm usually comes a bit later” she rubbed the back of her head, “keep trying, if Marinette is in trouble, then she needs our help”.
“Okay let me think, uh…It’s Magic Time? Ladybug Up? In brightest day, in blackest night...?” He kept throwing out suggestions, but Tikki continued to shake her head. “Uh, Shazam?” he had to give that one a try at least once, Tikki sighed.
Tikki thought it was admirable watching him at least trying to figure it out, even if Plagg was no help at that moment. It was clear to the little Kwami, she didn’t need to look that hard to know that this boy cared deeply for Marinette, even if he was hesitant to admit it at first. Tikki remembered gently encouraging Marinette to confess her feelings towards him, while Roy and Jason’s brothers took a more…direct approach.
“All right Jason, I’ll tell you the magic words but first,” Tikki told him and they both heard the Kwami’s stomach growl, breaking the awkward silence in the room. Jason remembered why Marinette usually kept a cookie on hand whenever she brought Tikki along, while the faint smell of cheese usually meant Plagg was in tow instead.
“Come on, let’s go get you a cookie” Jason said, “and some cheese for you” he shot Plagg a slightly irritated look. As Jason looked around the kitchen, the only cookies and cheese they had were the cheap stuff. Tikki tried to be polite about the fact that the oreo wasn’t going to cut it, Plagg just turned up his little cat nose at the processed American cheese. “Sorry Tikki, Marinette’s been a bit busy lately,” he told her before rounding on Plagg “what’s your problem?”
“You don’t happen to have any camembert, do you?” he asked, still refusing to even look at the slice of processed cheese.
“Camembert? Who was your last user?” Jason asked incredulously. Desperate times were calling for even more desperate measures, “just hang in there Marinette,” he thought.
Jason wouldn’t be racing over to Wayne Manor if it wasn’t a dire emergency. Tikki was safely tucked away in his jacket pocket, while Plagg was clinging to the hem of his jacket as it billowed behind him. Jason brought his motorbike to a stop just outside the gates, before hopping off darting past Damian, petting a sleeping Alfred the cat in his lap. Right now, he was hoping Alfred the human was baking something that would catch the Kwami’s eye. Sadly, he was not, a note on the kitchen door explained he wouldn’t be back until tomorrow. Sadly, this couldn’t wait until tomorrow. He opened the kitchen door, the cookies from Alfred’s last batch were stored in a cookie jar on top of the fridge. There was one cookie left, he unzipped his pocket and gestured to the cookie in the jar. Jason reached up and grabbed the jar, before opening it and grabbing the cookie inside. He also reached into the fridge and grabbed the camembert for Plagg. With the Kwami munching on their snacks of choice, he dashed out of the kitchen. Plagg had practically inhaled the wheel of cheese all at once, and glided alongside him. Meanwhile, Tikki clung to the cookie with one hand and the hem of Jason’s pocket with the other.
That morning, Bruce was not expecting to see Jason rushing past him. He wasn’t expecting to see a half-eaten chocolate chip cookie threatening to fly out of his jacket pocket. “Hi, can’t talk now, Marinette needs help, bye.” He called before disappearing down the hallway. Jason dashed past Dick who had just woken up, and Tim was on his way to the kitchen for some more coffee.
“Was that the last cookie?” Dick asked, slightly groggily.
“Oh that had better not be the last cookie” Tim groaned, someone had better be dying if that was the case.
Jason rushed to his motorcycle, and slammed the gate shut behind him before hopping on and putting on his helmet. Tikki was halfway through munching on the cookie, when she gave him a quick rundown of the powers that she would be giving him. Jason knew that the Miraculous granted the user enhanced speed, strength and endurance, he just hadn’t thought there would come a day when he would have to use their power. It was probably for the best that their guardian didn’t choose him when he was 13, for reasons that a bunch of guards were about to find out very soon.
Meanwhile, Marinette found herself in a cage inside a warehouse. There were two men guarding the cage, neither of them knew that Marinette was the girl in the black leather catsuit. They caught her just as the clock had run out on her powers, and they assumed she was one of the kids that had been captured. She was a petite young woman, and they found her dressed in a polka dotted hoodie, shorts and tights. She sent Plagg to go get help, and he had been gone for a few hours now. She was getting increasingly antsy, Jason was probably worried sick about her.
Jason arrived at the suspected gang hideout as fast as could, leapt off his bike and grappled to a vantage point. “Ok, relatively small time trafficking racket. Now where is Pixie Pop?” Jason thought to himself, scanning the area from his vantage point. “Plagg, go find Marinette, and tell her to not transform until I arrive.” Plagg flew out of Jason’s pocket and made his way there. “Alright Tikki, what's the magic word?” The Kwami flew out of Jason’s pocket as he spoke, Tikki glided to Jason’s ear and whispered to him the phrase. Jason repeated “Spots On” and felt power coursing through his veins. It felt like Venom without the addictive or berserk tendencies, pure energy was flowing through him. He felt the uncontrollable urge to pose and move with the flow of energy, doing a flourish of kicks and punches. It ended with him raising his left leg to his head, as if it was a vertical split and slamming it down. “Owwwwwwwwwwww” Jason groaned, “My thighs were not meant to do that.” He was not expecting the compulsive flourishes for the transformation itself.
Jason looked at his reflection in a nearby puddle, he could see he was wearing a full spotted suit and domino mask like Ladybug, yet his leather jacket stayed during the transformation and received its own ladybug pattern. Jason sucked up the pain and pushed onwards to the gang hideout.
Jason snuck in through a vent and approached a large main room, housing most if not all of the guards and their “merchandise” with cages strewn across the room with mostly women and children locked up. He finally sees Marinette, alive but imprisoned in a cage with a few other people in a corner. Jason needed a distraction so that Marinette could transform into Lady Noire. He had to do something to take the attention off every single person in the room.
Jason sighed and thought of a plan, it may not be the most flattering, but it worked and it would not be so threatening as cutting out the lights. He burst from the air vents and landed in a crouch, standing straight and shouting “Halt Evildoers, it I...Red Bug?”
This indeed worked as planned, as every guard, goon and hostage set their eyes on the intruder. The guards began pointing and laughing, “Good, they don't think I’m a threat” thought Jason. The guards underestimating Red Bug was what he needed, so that they would not find him threatening or harm anyone just yet.
Marinette took this opportunity to transform into Lady Noire. She wasted no time and began with Cataclysm, bringing down all the cages and making her way to Jason’s position. Both Lady Noire and Red Bug began fighting the guards, buying the hostages time to make their escape. As the last person successfully escaped the gang hideout, both Lady Noire and Red Bug stood side by side. More of them began to trickle in as they heard the commotion and began to surround the pair.
Marinette needed to think fast, she didn't have much time left after casting Cataclysm. She said to her partner, “Lucky Charm, Now!” Red Bug raised his eyebrow, “Lucky Charm?” he repeated. He suddenly felt the same compulsion as he did during the transformation, his arm suddenly shot upward with the yo-yo spinning. He looked up to see a swarm of ladybugs converge to form...a purse? Red Bug caught the purse with a look of disbelief, Lady Noire looked around the room for a plan to use the purse. Lady Noire got a burst of inspiration and turned around to tell her partner of her cunning plan, only to be greeted by thin air. She was brought out of her stupor hearing her partner yell out “LIGHTS OUT BITCH!”. She whipped her head towards the source of the noise to see Red Bug beating the guards with the Ladybug-themed purse. “I guess that works too” she said to nobody in particular. Knowing she had little time remaining as Lady Noire, she started running for the exit. Red Bug had no issue dealing with the remaining goons. Marinette hadn’t expected Jason to suit up with one of the Miraculous, not that she was complaining. She had expected him to come charging in as the Red Hood, or maybe start by picking off the guards one-by-one. She was surprised, but it wasn’t an unpleasant one, mostly. Since leaving Chat Noir behind in Paris, the fight left her feeling oddly nostalgic. Sometimes she missed fighting alongside a Miraculous user, though Tikki might have something to say about his...unusual use of a Lucky Charm. She walked over to Jason’s parked motorcycle and waited. Within minutes Jason followed suit and walked out the front door of the hideout. A swirl of green light surrounded him as he changed back, and Tikki zoomed over towards Marinette. Tikki nuzzled against Marinette’s face for a moment, before Jason walked towards her. He pulled his girlfriend into a big hug, Marinette is left breathless for a moment as he nuzzles into her neck. He didn’t say anything, but neither of them really needed to say anything at that moment. Touched by how much Jason cared for her, Marinette returned the hug. She stayed in that warm embrace for a long moment, before reaching up and gently patting him on the head. “Let’s go home...Pixie Pop.” Jason pulled away at the mention of the nickname he gave her, and before she could react, Jason began pinching her cheeks. “What did you call me?” Jason jokingly interrogated, while Marinette giggled like an idiot. EXTRA: Jason is sitting next to Dick and Damian in the Wayne manor lounge with two ice packs on his thighs Jason: I don’t know how you do it Dickie, my thighs were not meant to do that. Dick (covers Damian’s ears): Soooo did you and Marinette…. Jason: I literally beat up some guys with a purse today, don’t push me.

Of something beautiful, but annihilating🚬4

Note: I haven’t updated in a minute but I got the yen to come back to Arvin so here we go! Also working away at my gif requests which are super fun :)
Thank you. Love you guys!
As always, if you can, please leave some feedback, like and reblog <3
The fight echoed in your head as Arvin buttoned up the front of your dress, although a few were missing. He helped you to your feet and you leaned on him heavily, barely able to see ahead of you, let alone support yourself on your shaky legs. You climbed the stairs as your mind passed through a tunnel of shock. You didn’t realise you’d even left the living room until you were lowered onto the bed.
Arvin sat beside you, his hand on your shoulder as he spoke softly. You didn’t understand his words as you turned your face away and tears trickled down your tender cheek. You weren’t sad that Roy was gone, you were embarrassed that another had seen what you let him do to you, and terrified of the nice man with the pistol.
Was he really so nice? You barely knew him at all and he’d had a gun under your roof. Sure, Roy had a rifle but that was for hunting. You couldn’t say or even try to imagine why Arvin had a handgun.
The lamp clicked off and the end of the chain clinked against the long stem. You laid in the dark, not daring to move, and after hours of dazed disbelief, you dozed off, your back wracked with pain from the tension and awkward position.
You woke with a stiff neck, a swollen face, and a weight in your chest. You sat up slowly and held your forehead as the bed shifted. Arvin dumped an armful of Roy's old flannels into the open suitcase at the foot of the mattress. You blinked and rubbed your eye as you leaned on one arm. You yawned and stretched your shoulders.
"What are you doing?" You asked.
"I'll see him today," he said as he pulled open the chest of drawers and grabbed the stained and torn denim from within, "make sure he stays away for good."
"What? Arvin," you bent your legs and crossed your arms over your knees, "he's my husband."
"He didn't act like one," he continued to toss Roy's clothes haphazardly into the bag, "he beat you!" He stopped and put his hands on his hips, "he never talked to you nice and…" he stopped and shook his head and closed the suitcase. He zipped it up with a sigh, "I heard him that first night. I figured, you weren't my wife, I could live with it. Well, I can't. You deserve better than him."
"It's not that easy. I can't just toss him out--"
"No, I did," Arvin insisted, "and I'll keep him out."
"You shouldn’t have done that. Last night. He'll be mad."
"So?" Arvin hauled the bag off the bed and dragged it to the door. The bottom of his shirt moved and revealed the butt of the gun sticking out of the top of his jeans.
"Are you gonna make sure with that?" You asked as you turned your legs over the side of the bed, "you can't just shoot him, you know that, don't you?"
"Of course, but he doesn't know I won't," Arvin looked back at you, "I'm gonna make breakfast then head out… how's your head?"
"Feels like there's a rock in my temple," you groaned and stood, "I don't want anyone to get hurt."
"No one but you, huh?" He challenged, "Look, I won't hurt him, I promise, but I also won't let him hurt you."
You neared him meekly as you hugged yourself, "why?"
"Because you do," he said, "because if you won't save yourself, I will. I have to," he looked down at his scuffed shoes, "I seen too many girls, too many women, hurt in my life. I ain't that old, you know? But I can't stand no more."
You watched him go and listened to him descend the old stairs. You frowned and flinched as you glanced around and caught a glimpse of yourself in the antique oval mirror your mother had left behind all those years ago. You looked as bad as you felt, worse; you couldn't help but be comforted by Arvin's concern, in fact, it felt good to have someone who cared about you.
🚬
It was hard to concentrate that day. Even a chore as simple as the dishes or sweeping the floors took twice as long as usual as your mind strayed to the night before and fears of what was to come.
You tried to convince Arvin to leave the bag there but he wasn’t folding, not like you. You admired him for that, but at the same time it made you squirm. Something had changed. He was no longer the sweet young man staying in your attic, he became the indomitable and angry man waving the gun around as he spoke about killing others without so much as flinching.
You remembered what he said. He’d killed a man before, or was it men? It wasn’t like you had anyone who could or would help you. You doubted Roy would come back even if you wanted him to, and on that front, you just couldn’t be sure. He was your husband and it was improper to put him out but let another man sleep under your roof.
The only woman in town who’d dared divorce her husband was Carmen Dolan and there was no where in town she went where people didn’t whisper about her; at the store, in church, and even on the sidewalks. It didn’t matter that her husband was sneaking around or that he was little better than Roy in his manners. It was a small place and people had too much time to talk.
Well, how many friends did you have there? Noreen couldn’t be called as much and all the girls you knew in school were married and too busy to keep up those old teenage ties. You could bide them at the sewing circles, they never were very nice, and you went to church out of obligation not out of a need for that ridiculous shallow socializing of housewives. Besides, you’d failed at all that, hadn’t you?
Then you began to worry. What if Roy flipped and hurt Arvin? Or Arvin hurt him? The suitcase would hardly be taken with a thanks. If Roy was ashamed enough he might just grumble and ignore the other man for the rest of the day, but if he wasn’t, he might just pick up where they left off last night.
You were hanging out the washing when a faded old Chevrolet drove up the dusty drive. You squinted past the stiff jeans as it steered closer and the engine stopped. Arvin climbed out and jingled the keys as he went around the other side. He took out a paper bag and crossed the yard.
“How was your day?” he asked with a smile.
You stared, dumbfounded. How could he act so… normal?
“Wh--what happened with…” your voice trailed out and you unclipped a pair of his jeans.
“Roy? Oh, he took his things and tucked tail after lunch,” he scoffed, “he didn’t look too good. Probably didn’t feel good neither.”
You nodded and dropped the jeans into the basket and tucked the pegs into your pocket. He crinkled the paper bag and stopped you from reaching to the next pair.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
You shook your head and stepped back so that his hand fell from your arm.
“I know last night was-- hard. I only did what I had to, not anything I wanted to,” his brows drew together, “here.”
He held out the paper bag and you eyed it warily. You chewed your lip and he stepped closer.
“Please, it’s, uh, I want you to have it,” he said, “you deserve it and maybe it is an apology. I went a little far but… I don’t regret it. Roy got what was coming.”
You took the bag and he tucked his hands in his pockets. “You didn’t have to get me nothing,” you said.
“Like I said, I wanted to. You do all the hard work here,” he replied, “and I’ll finish this up.”
He reached up and took down the next pair of pants and put them in the basket with the rest. He moved down the line as you watched him, the bag under your arm. You didn’t move, just watched. You looked over at the Chevrolet and frowned.
“Where’d you get the car?” you asked.
“Used,” he said as he folded a shirt in half and dropped it into the basket, “they had it down at the shop for a while now and I told the boss to take out installments from my next few checks. He didn’t mind much, he ain’t been able to get rid of it. Some work to be done but--” He lifted the basket and neared you, “you didn’t look yet?”
“Inside,” you said, “I didn’t wanna just leave you out here with all that.”
You nodded to the laundry and he pointed you toward the house. He followed you up onto the porch and through the screen door. He stopped to slip off his shoes and continued on after you into the living room. You put the bag down on the end table and uncurled the top.
You pulled out the large square and held up the record. The man who stared back at you had sparkling blue eyes and black hair. Elvis Presley smiled as if it was all a funny joke.
“There’s more,” he said.
You set down the record against the arm of the couch and reached into the brown bag again. You pulled out the fabric and a finely tailored pink dress in the latest style unfolded before you. You stared as he neared and he took the bag from the table. He revealed the last piece from the bag and set them down on the carpet, a pair of brand new heels.
“Why did you do all this?” you shoved the dress at him, “I can’t accept it.”
“You can,” he stepped back, “and just so you know, I’ll be paying my rent to you direct now.”
He sidled past you and took the album from the couch. He went to the record player and slid the vinyl from the sleeve. He carefully placed it on the player and lined up the pin. He turned back to you and crossed the room. He pulled the dress from your hands and let it slump over the couch cushion.
“Do you know the shimmy? I could show you? It’s the new thing,” he said as he took your hand, “you just move your hips, bend your legs a little, keep your arms out like this.” He moved slowly at first as he drew you into the middle of the room, “just with me, to the rhythm.”
“I can’t,” you protested, “really, I’m not a dancer.”
“Me neither, but it’s fun,” he tugged on your hand, “come on.”
He sang out of tune as he kept his hips moving. You watched him and tried to copy him, hoping to placate him long enough that you could escape to the kitchen. The dress, the album, the dancing, it all felt so wrong.
As the song ended, he brought you close and wrapped you up and slowed down. He swayed you with him as the record kept spinning. His eyes clung to yours.
“He didn’t know what he had,” he said.
“Arvin, I gotta start supper,” you whispered as you pushed on him, “please.”
“I got you the new dress so we could go to the drive-in,” he kept you against him, “Friday night. You like Audrey Hepburn?”
“I… haven’t seen much of her,” you confessed, “Arvin, really, the ham--”
“He’s not coming back,” he released you reluctantly, “I told you. I told him.”
“He’s still my husband,” you crossed your arms and looked down.
“Is he? He never treated you like his wife.”
“It’s the law--”
“Divorce him. You’ll keep the house, it’s yours. Your daddy left it to you.”
“And do what? I can’t afford it on my own--”
“You got me.”
“You won’t stay here forever,” you uttered.
He didn’t say anything and narrowed his eyes. He shrugged and turned away. “You have options and Roy is the wrong one,” he said, “you can’t hate yourself that much.”
You barely heard him and didn’t know how to respond. So you didn’t and left him to Elvis’ soft tones as you went to pull out the honey ham. You still had some of your sweet mustard left in that jar from last year or maybe the apple sauce. It was easier to focus on the food and not the madness of men.

The nights and days drifted by like sand in a glass. Whenever Arvin was there, even when he was in the attic and you were below, you were painfully aware that it was only the two of you in that big house. You weren’t afraid for yourself really, he hadn’t done anything to you. You should hate Roy for how he’d been to you all those years but you didn’t want to be the reason he got hurt.
But as the time went by, it was also harder to tell Arvin no. You never thought anyone could be overly helpful, especially after Roy’s indifference, but you were overwhelmed by his presence. He was always lurking around when you least expected, watching you, waiting. He always offered to finish the chore or kept you from doing it entirely. You should be thankful but it made you feel more guilty than anything.
When Friday came, you carried on your usual routine. You were mopping when the Chevrolet pulled up. He’d spent the night before with his head under the hood. He said it wasn’t too bad for the price and the repairs were minimal and none so urgent.
The car door closed then his steps walked up onto the porch. As he entered the house, you hit the mop against the wall and kept your head down, swiping back and forth against the wood. He didn’t dare to step past the threshold and mess your clean floors.
“You should finish up and get ready,” he said.
You looked up at him and feigned ignorance. You hoped all day he would forget about the movie. You didn’t want to wear the dress, it made your wedding ring chafe just to think of it. You focused again on the mop and kept back stepping away from him.
“Maybe not tonight, Arvin,” you said, “I’m tired.”
“You don’t have to work yourself sick,” he leaned against the doorframe, “really. You can always just take a day and… relax.”
You put the mop in the bucket and rested it against the wall. You took a deep breath but didn’t look at him.
“I don’t think we should go at all.”
He sighed and rubbed his cheek, “Really? Roy hasn’t even tried to come back. Hasn’t even tried to apologise. In all these years, did he ever once say sorry to you for anything?”
“Maybe not but I married him. I made that decision and I have to see it through.”
“Not like that,” he tutted, “besides, it’s just a movie…”
“Just a movie,” you repeated and walked over the drying floor, “alright then.”
He watched you and the thoughts wrinkled on his forehead. He let you go as you grabbed the railing and ascended the stairs. You felt his eyes on you, even after you turned down the hall, as if he could see you through the walls.
“We got time,” he called up, “no rush. It’s not even close to dark but I don’t want you to worry about… all this.”
You didn’t reply and closed the bedroom door. You sat on the end of your bed and clasped your hands. You still felt terribly trapped. You didn’t think so much of what Roy would say, he always said the worst. You thought about your father and how disappointed he would be. You knew he wouldn’t have let Roy treat you so bad if he was still alive, but he would still be sad if he knew how it all worked out.

You hadn’t been to the drive-in since you were going steady with Roy. It was a singular occasion and an unpleasant one. He got drunk and couldn’t drive home so you had to get behind the wheel and pray you didn’t crash. It wasn’t that you couldn’t drive, you just hated it. Thinking of it then, you should have expected all that came after.
Arvin pulled in as the sky dimmed slowly and he left you to go to concession and grab popcorn. When he returned, he handed you a box of chocolates as he cradled the large paper bag of kernels. You thanked him and opened the box, distracting yourself with the chewy caramels covered in milk chocolate. You offered him some as you looked around and waited for the screen to flash into motion.
There were a few families among the patrons but mostly teenagers, couples and groups, rowdy as they impatiently hollered for the film to roll. You hadn’t heard of this one, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Arvin said he read about it in the paper and it was supposed to be a flick meant for ladies. He said he didn’t mind as he liked the actors.
When at last it was dark enough, the movie began and you set the box down on the seat and munched on a handful of popcorn out of courtesy. The credits began and you were quickly swept up into the life of Holly Golightly. You were almost agog to think that a woman could live like her. City life seemed so different, so free, so scary. And she didn’t let all those men rule her.
You felt Arvin slide closer to you and his arm snaked around your shoulders. You tensed as you focused on Hepburn’s waifish voice and offkey plucking of the ukulele. You tried to ignore him as you felt his warm breath and the kiss on your temple made you wince. Your eyes flicked over to the car on the other side of you, then the next. The audience was rapt.
His hand grazed along your skirt and he kissed your cheek. Your heart raced wildly. You wanted to stop him but didn’t know how. And he was so sweet and he did so much for you. He’d brought you all the way here and kept Roy from cracking your head open. Could you really say no?
“I know I said it already,” his hand lingered on the pink fabric, “but this looks wonderful on you.”
“Thank you,” you whispered as you kept your wide eyes on the screen.
“Really, you’re beautiful, honey,” he purred as he nuzzled your throat, “living so close… it’s hard…”
He pushed his hand under your skirt and up between your thighs. He wiggled until you parted your legs and grabbed your chin with his other. He turned you to face him and crushed his lips against yours. He leaned on you until you were flat against the seat and he brought your legs up onto the leather as he held himself over you.
He kissed you even deeper as his fingers tickled over the front of your panties and crawled up to the top. He slipped his hand down the front of your underwear and you whimpered. When he touched you, you were afraid but confused. It felt good, better than anything you’d ever done with Roy.
You gulped and turned your head as you gasped. You grabbed his shoulder and shuddered. His fingers delved between your folds and swirled. You murmured and squeezed his arm.
“Please, I’m-- I’m still married, we can’t--”
He nibbled at your neck and blindly reached up to grab your hand. He gripped the ring on your finger and forced it off and flicked it away. It rolled under the seat as he rasped against your throat.
“He’s gone,” his fingers danced around your clit eagerly, “don’t you understand? I’ll make sure he doesn’t come back, honey.”
“Arvin, I--” you squeaked as the waves swelled and flowed down your legs and you were caught in the tide, “please…”
You closed your eyes, your mind stormed with how wrong it was but your body pulsed with delight. He pushed his fingers further back and the heel of his hand pressed to your bud. He curled his fingers inside of your and you moaned as he rested the weight of his pelvis against his hand. He rocked his touch in time with his hips, as if he was fucking you, and kissed you on the mouth again, swallowing up your desperate cries.
Your legs wrapped around his as you came and you tilted your pelvis as you rode the high. He lifted his head to watch you orgasm and your lashes fluttered as you succumbed to the ecstasy. You squirmed as he slowed his fingers and stilled his hand entirely. You were out of breath as he stopped at last but kept his hand nestled between your legs.
You covered your face with your shaky hand and exhaled deeply. He pulled your hand down and rubbed the tip of his nose against yours.
“I’ll buy you a new ring,” he purred, “a nicer one.”
