If there was one thing that described Roxie's high school career so far, it was Quinn Fabray. No matter what she did, Roxie could never escape the blonde's perfect shadow. She was second on the Cheerios, despite being a better cheerleader. Her boyfriend wanted Quinn more than he'd ever wanted her. Quinn had the title, the boys, the friends, all of it. Except for the Glee club. Sandy Ryerson's club had been a nightmare, but with Mr Schue, it was okay. Sure, Rachel's personality was even worse than Schue's song choices, but it was Roxie's. Os Glynhorn são bastante conhecidos entre os elfos da primavera, especialmente pela forte ligação que possuem com as flores e com os animais, desta maneira era de esperar que quando seus descendentes nascessem fosse praticamente uma festa na comunidade. E foi nesse ambiente agradável que Sarya nasceu e cresceu.

O contato com a natureza sempre lhe fora agradável, no entanto, durante o inverno e outono dormia praticamente o dia todo, visto que sua energia parecia ser drenada naqueles tempos frios, enquanto no verão, ainda que não fosse a pessoa mais enérgica e alegre do mundo, acabava por ter mais disposição para fazer suas tarefas na comunidade.

Os anos se passaram, até o momento que estava perto de ir para Nevermore, já que sempre soubera que não poderia ir para onde os padrões estudavam e até aquele momento não entendia o que podia ser tão ruim neles que fez com que todos os excluídos resolvessem ficar longe… isso até o momento em que descobriu o pior deles. Durante uma noite de primavera, enquanto cuidavam dos animais, os pais acabaram encurralados por um grupo e antes que Sarya pudesse ajudá-los ouviu barulhos altos, como estouros e em seguida os pais caídos no chão em meio a uma poça de sangue. A dor da elfa não podia ser explicada, ela chamava pelos pais até o momento em que os outros elfos da comunidade se aproximaram, puxando-a para longe dali de modo que pudessem acalmá-la um pouco.

Daquele dia em diante passou a odiar os padrões com todas as suas forças e assim que entrou em Nevermore e escolheu a Casa Zaphyr, Sarya jurou que estudaria demonologia para que pudesse aprender como fazer pactos — escutou sobre o assunto na noite anterior a ida até a escola — e com isso se vingar dos padrões que causaram a morte dos pais bem como talvez trazê-los de volta mesmo depois de tanto tempo.

this song is about someone struggling to gain the energy to do much of anything. usually, they’d be very social and active, but recently, they’ve been unable to. to me, this is in roxy’s perspective. she struggled a lot with doing things and talking to people, especially later on in your life. she lacked energy. because of this, you were someone she often relied on when it came to her troubles. maybe it had to do with her alcoholism or just her emotions in general. hopefully, this stayed as a healthy relationship, but it seems like she could have been the only one being supported. when you would come to her, she may have brushed your problems off. perhaps not in a rude way though, more like having a gentle topic switch. i believe that this could have been simply because she didn’t know how to help and comfort you, but you would know better than me.
