Friendship AU?
I dunno what to call this AU but basically the "Evan/Cassidy/Gregory/Cassie are all friends AU." Anyway, headcanons be upon ye.
Every time Michael pranks Evan, Gregory and Cassidy prank him back but worse.
Like the time Michael woke up with pink hair.
But he can't prove it was them. Especially since neither Cassidy nor Gregory tell Evan when they prank Michael.
This is because Evan is a terrible liar.
Elizabeth joins in too sometimes, since she and Evan are 'partners in crime."
Evan disagrees about that part until Lizzie reminds him of the times he's distracted their dad so she could steal extra cookies for them.
Or when he's helped her beg (blackmail) Michael to play with them.
Cassie and Evan are both pretty sensitive, but while Evan cries as soon as something bad happens, Cassie's builds up until she can't hold it in anymore.
Evan and Gregory let Elizabeth and Cassie do their hair/makeup/nails/etc. Evan does it because he's a good sport, Gregory does it because they both agree to let him ramble about his robotics interests.
Not just for this au, but look at Gregory and tell me he wouldn't love robot fighting competitions like BattleBots.
Both Gregory and Cassidy have beaten people up for bullying Evan and Cassie.
They have movie nights at Cassie's house.
They have a rotation of who gets to pick the movie that week.
When they're teens, Cassie wants to get her ears pierced but she's pretty nervous about it, so the gang (plus Lizzie) go with her in support.
Gregory and Lizzie get their ears pierced in extra support.
One year for Evan's birthday, the gang pooled their money together to get him a giant build a bear frog.
It's bigger than him.
He sleeps on top of it sometimes.
Gregory and Cassidy both agreed that if Michael destroys the frog like he did Evan's Foxy plush, they're going to bury him in a shallow grave (they tell Evan they're joking but they aren't.)
While Gregory holds the high score in most arcade games, there are some he can't win, like claw machines.
Evan's great at claw machines, so he helps his friends win which ever plush they're having trouble getting.
Gregory would be the kid who climbs into the claw machine to get the prize.
Evan had to get William and Henry to unlock the claw machine since Gregory did that once and got stuck. (Cassidy was meanwhile, laughing at Gregory so hard until they couldn't breath)
Cassie is amazing at Roxy Raceway, and other racing games.
Seriously, none of them can beat her at Mario Kart.
Cassidy is the Skee-Ball champ, not even Gregory can take that away.
Evan doesn't really care about high scores; he just likes having fun.
On occasion, they'll pool their tickets together to get a better prize they can share.
Cassidy and Gregory aren't allowed to play Mario Party alone. They almost killed each other a few times.

the second golden bolt tournament premiere review/analysis 🔩
Welcome ladies, gentlemen, and gentlethems to the first of many Battlebots episode reviews and analysis. I was going to do a liveblog but I feel asleep not even half way through and I finished the episode earlier today. If you haven't seen the new episode I highly suggest you do, there's a lot of things that went down and its just a good premiere and episode, but if you haven't you might wanna scroll. (also this is going to be a long one who prepare your nuts people YES I MEANT WHAT I SAID.)
Anyhow LETS GET IT ON, *BRO*
First of, I wanna start with the changes with this show and the differences between this season and the last one. The most notable one is the removal of the matchup with the gatekeeper from the last season. I thought they were going to reveal it in the end or make it so that the final competitor standing does not know who they're fighting until near the end, but no! They don't even mention it beforehand at all in the episode and the last bot standing instantly goes to the finals. Idk why they removed it, I THOUGHT THEY WERENT BUT I GUESS NOT?? Based on the little clips they showed at the start they showed Will Bales, and I thought this was because Hypershock was going to be a gatekeeper for this season but IDK THEY REMOVED IT?? I do kinda miss that aspect of the show because its what made it more interesting for sure but it did really caught me off-guard with it. Maybe Hypershock will be in one of the brackets? Or maybe they just won't compete at all. Idk, its just something I thought was worth mentioning because I couldn't really find it being discussed anywhere. Also I love Kenny's Key and their.... interesting connotations. Aside from that there's no big changes, so let's get to the fights themselves! SHREDDIT BRO! vs Skorpios - Wow. Whoever predicted Shreddit Bro was going to come out like Minotaur on this one should be given an gold medal WHAT AN OPENING FIGHT. Idk what Evan Arias did to the robot before this but they're looking like a beast out there. The Bro™ was so dominant and all over Skorpios the full fight, if you showed this fight to someone who's never seen the show they'll think its some top tier contender for the title. NO ITS JUST SHREDDIT BRO AND THEY JUST CAME OUT OF NOWHERE- also I just realized Zach look kinda as his bot was being counted out UEUEUEUEUE I WANNA GIVE HIM A HUG :( YOU TRIED YOUR BEST PRODUCERS JUST REALLY FUCKED THEM OVER BY GIVING THEM A DRUM </3333333 Overall great opener, really good start for Shreddit Bro.
Rotator vs Terrortops - Idk if I have much to say about this fight as much as the last one, but Terrortops didn't do too bad here, they survived a while against Rotator which is not easy. But yeah, this was Rotator's fight to win and its pretty satisfying seeing them be so dominant again.
Switchback vs Kraken - WOAH YOU GUYS IT WENT TO THE JUDGES HOW SHOCKING! Yeahh Kraken got pretty beaten here, I realized these two are pretty similar in design but Switchback just kept delivering the hits. I don't have anything else to say except good performance from Switchback and this is Matt Spurk's TENTH loss in a row since Rusty jabbed Kraken's face out. Like that is just brutal. SOMEONE GIVE THIS MAN A HUG AND A GOOD OPPONENT PLS </333
Valkyrie vs Ominous - I'm starting to see a pattern here that all the winners had something to prove and has mostly really improved since last season. I thought Ominous would've held on a bit better because of that big plow but yk. yeah. This fight was honestly the best they've performed in a while until the next fights, like I think something simultaneously clicked for all the winning teams in the pits and they decided to POP TF OFF- and honestly?? good for them. good for them.
(okay that took a while to write but its okay. just. 3. more. fights.)
SHREDDIT BRO! vs Switchback - Okay if Minotaur and Shreddit Bro doesn't happen in season 8 I'm rioting. BUT ALSO Switchback, yk in the first 5 seconds WASNT DOING BAD and then he lost the chain. At that point The Bro™ the starting chewing away at him like he was Minotaur. SERIOUSLY HOW? BUT ALSO IM REALLY IMPRESSED. Like I love how this episode was just full of twists and turns and the fandom were collectively shocked at how out of nowhere their wins and dominance are. LIKE THAT LAST HIT WAS INSANE and usually Switchback's pretty durable and bulky. I think if they can figure out a way to protect the wheels, maybe some armor, and get their weapon to not hit the floor, they can be a force to be recon with. (also ik what I described is basically Minotaur but listen let Evan cook okay.) This was the fight I started becoming a Broliever one would say. I believe in the bro that brolieves in me. ooh yeah gottem. (im not mentally stable someone help)
Rotator vs Valkyrie - We all knew producers were going to hype up this rematch and it did not disappoint. Both robots held up really well against each other but Rotator's plow was a really good choice. I do think that Rotator would've had a chance if they'd boxrush them, but otherwise Valkyrie was winning this. Credits to Lucy for staying aggressive and if there were more time I think the plow and side armor would've been completely ripped out. I do prefer the first fight but this fight was still really good.
Okay. That was a lot of fights. But lets take a break and get on with the AWARDS!! First off, the Excellence in Sportsmanship went to Rory Mangles of Monsoon. I didn't know who he was at first but when I was looking through Reddit and seeing the stories, yeah, this guy deserves it. What an absolute chad. This did get me thinking, with this award and the Founder's Award, it got me thinking that these awards can now be awarded to an individual person and not just a full team which is really cool. Now onto the Most Destructive which NOT ONLY DIDNT GO TO SHITTIDE BUT WENT TO MY BOY HUUUUUUGE!! WOOOOOOOO YEAHHH BABY!! THATS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR, THATS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT!!!!!!!! ahem Okay seriously I thought it was either going to Shittide or Copperhead 100% and I understand why ppl would be surprised at this BUT I AM NOT COMPLAINING WE TAKE THIS W. EAT SHIT ETHAN. Onto the Grant Imahara: Best Design Award goes to RIPperoni and honestly I didn't see it going anyother way, maybe except Horizon but theyre design wasn't performing well, so RIPperoni was really the only pick. And finally, the Founder's Award which goes to Martin Mason! HONESTLY REALLY DESERVED he is the spirit of the sport and overall he just seems like such a great guy. Good for him. Good for him. Now, with all that aside, its time for the finals.
SHREDDIT BRO! vs Valkyrie - Coming into this fight I wanted The Bro™ to win because of their story, but Valkyrie really did good by breaking their drum, but Evan did amazing trying to adapt and get Valkyrie to break their spinner. Just shows that even when Evan is being this cool guy character he's really smart and tactical. I'm so excited for what's to come from this bot and congrats to Evan. Good for him. Good for him.
This episode was a really good start to the season and next weeks episode is a really stacked lineup. I personally think Black Dragon, and MadCatter or Whiplash are my picks for the finals but I'm personally rooting for my boy REESE EWERT FROM FUSION LETS GOOO REESE FUCK THEM UP!! As for SHREDDIT BRO!, I think they lose against Sawblaze, a pretty good chance against Tantrum, and 50/50 against End Game. THINK ABOUT IT we live in a timeline where SHREDDIT BRO has a good chance at beating the former champions. LET THAT SINK IN THE DOOR. I do kinda think the pacing was kinda off this episode but overall this is a really good start to the season, a solid 8/10 episode for me.
ok now im going to sit down time to rest. good night tristate area.

A fan of Battlebots, but also.. (Extra info below! QnA currently open!!)
I'm a fan of ALL robot combat!
And that's not all, as I am a fan of:
Phighting, Chonny Jash, and AVA/AVM!
My favourate goobers from these fandoms:
EndGame (my beloved bot <3), Hypershock, Monsoon, Switchback, Rotator, Blacksmith, Bite-Force, Tombstone - (Battlebots)
Razer, 13 Black, Roadblock (chonky ass wedge, i love the bot), Dead Metal, Sgt. Bash - (Robot Wars)
Blue, Tánshè, Cat King, Pixel Hunter, Tungsten - (King of Bots)
Biograft, Katana, Boombox, Vinestaff - (Phighting!)
The Heart - (Chonny Jash)
The Dark Lord, Blue, The Second Coming - (AVA/AVM)
though you'll see mostly Battlebots, I'll still provide content for these silly fandoms :3
i am so sorry for this very cluttered and disorganized mess of a post
edit: in a rush to get this out, I may have forgotten to put the Comedy Central Battlebots, so here are the CC BB!:
Backlash (my other little beloved <3), Biohazard, Sunshine Lollibot, S.O.B (Sony Bot Online), Hexy D (AKA; HexaDecimator) - (CC)
Update about periodic table Q&A:
I'm probably gonna put it up for now, since
A. I don't get any asks about em really, so uh, yeahh..
B. I wish to focus more on Battlebots n feeding that intrest since it's been eating at my brain for a while
C. need excuse for en gam content.

Judging from your name I think you'll like this lore I've made with my hexbug battlebots,
Hypershock and Sawblaze are dating and go everywhere together despite Sawblaze being fed up with his boyfriends dumbness he loves him so much,
Tombstone is like thier dad not actually but when they need help they go to him,
Tombstone has a huge crush on Beta and is too nervous to make a move,
Whiplash is uber jelly at what Hypershock and Sawblaze have,
Beta's voice sounds like the Egypt EAS alarm
Rotator is a party animal
And finally Rusty Jr has beef with Beta for beating up his dad.
My little hexbugs universe has nothing to do with any of my other AU's but I do record them and send them to my friends which is where this lore came from
I LOVE THIS AND I LOVE YOU

hnnnnnnnghhhhhh (currently hyperfixated on frc)
it's a highschool robotics competition but it has existed since 1992 and the culture and the designs are fascinating. it's an engineering challenge, not battlebots which is soooo much more interesting, where you have to make a robot to manipulate game pieces to score.
we've done frisbees, yoga balls, dodgeballs, kickballs, toroids, plastic disks, inflatable tubes, wiffle balls, and soo much more. under the cut im going to post a list of videos of robots that are cool/wild in some way with labels for team numbers (indicator of which team it is, like team 1690 or team 118) and what makes them interesting, also more yapping
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWAyzwvvuhA - 1114 simbotics | 2004 swerve variable height https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hTyXQUgYLE - robowranglers 148 | 2010 butterfly drive, rotate climb https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fLf71xlVhE - robowranglers 148 | 2008 nonagon robot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaV0zbKz-Qg - robowranglers 148 | 2015 two robots in one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9n5jAUfXYtI - orbit 1690 | diffy wrist 2023 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjssGoBFgUg - spartan robotics 971 | sideways arm rotation 2023 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWHwDfpeYjo - robonauts 118 | 2016, catapult, grappling hook climb, goofy ahh mechanisms https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QOYdA5IPJQ - robowranglers 148 | 2016 catapult https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s7zUlTgnDc - team orbit 1690 | 2022 shoot-on-the-move https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pmig2PYQHmA - team 71 | walking robot from 2002 that can pull 390 pounds
i would recommend watching game reveals as well, the robots in them are less robots and more scps created to demonstrate scoring methods, but they are soso cool to see in terms of old animations and how the games worked.
use thebluealliance.com to watch match videos from world championship finals, or the einstein field, to see what the best robots from each year looked like
are you.... an frc enjoyer? (<- noticed you liked my post about frc and is insane about locating other robot enjoyers on this website)
ngl i do not knwo what that is i just thought the picture was silly . BUT ! i would be interested in learning

To be fair though, Tombstone doesn't actually do that great in modern BattleBots. The most recent times it's come back, whether to be a "guardian" like in the Golden Bolt tournament, or in other recent matches, it's actually lost most of the time.
I think the BattleBots meta has shifted to the point where horizontal spinners in general aren't actually that viable anymore. Valkyrie, Rotator, Malice, and other bots that used to be pretty consistently triumphant, have struggled in recent seasons. Even (especially) the full-body horizontal spinners like Bloodsport and Captain Shrederator.
I think part of the problem is that horizontal spinners end up hurting themselves with the recoil of the collisions almost as much as they hurt the other bots. Vertical spinners tend to take that recoil energy and send it into the floor so they don't go flying everywhere (that's why vertical spinners tend to have their blades spin in an upwards direction instead of downwards).
With how powerfully bots are hitting these days, the kinetic energy that powerful horizontal spinners generate is more likely to send them flying. And while yes, Tombstone did take more hits than Triton, Tombstone still has struggled.
So overall, I think not only are Horizontal spinners not meta anymore, but Triton being a "glass cannon" is an even WORSE idea given that horizontal spinners are MORE likely to go flying and come down hard than other types of bots, just because of where their weapons send their energy
Triton kinda makes me sad.
The best way I can describe it is that years ago there was a show called Tombstone and it was fucking awesome! Then they made a reboot called Triton, but the writers and show runners didn't actually understand what made Tombstone so good, so the reboot just sucks.
Tombstone was frequently called the King of Kinetic Energy, and for good reason. It hit REALLY hard! But what made it amazing was that it could get hit really hard and keep trucking! Tombstone was famous for bouncing around the battle box after big hits, but here's the thing: so do all bots. The thing that made Tombstone remarkable was its ability to ping around the box like a pinball land on its wheels and keep going. Witch Doctor broke Tombstone's weapon in half, and Tombstone was still able to move!
Triton takes a hit that most bots would bounce back from, and it dies immediately. Like in its fight against Copperhead. Copperhead hit the back of Triton, and all the components came flying out of Triton like they were spring-loaded.
The captain of Triton called it a glass cannon, which makes sense in other types of combat, but you can't do that in battlebots. It's nice in theory to be able to demolish your opponent in a single hit and never take a hit, but that's not the reality. You're going to get hit.

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR BATTLEBOTS CHAMPIONS EPISODE 3
(Once again, I don’t have an image of the bot in talking about saved, oop-)
My god Glitch freaking popped off! Sure, it won three Judges’ Decisions in a row, but Glitch is still undefeated! It double KO’d against Uppercut and it spilled the guts of Rotator in only a few hits!
I’ll be honest, when I watched it with my dad, we were both like “Yea, Uppercut wins this”, then a double KO happened. My dad alway said the bot they say first wins split decisions, but I countered that wasn’t always the case, then Glitch won via split decision. When Glitch faced against Rotator, my dad said “I got Rotator, who you got?” I replied with: “I know Rotator’s gonna win, but I wanna say Glitch.” Then Rotator’s guts came out.
Glitch will probably lose in the Golden Bolt tourney, but if they fix their drive issues, they’ll probably be a terrifying bot to face.

<Bzzt! Yeah, sure, an argument. >:> That's one thing to call it!>
<A video is attached. It starts with Ray standing up close in front of the camera, looking into the lens through their tinted goggles. As they realize that it's recording, they smile and back up, revealing a makeshift arena in the middle of an abandoned parking garage. On one side of the arena is one of Elodie's battle robots. It is painted the vivid shades of green and purple that Team S.C.A.M is known for, and it seems to be shaped vaguely like the top half of an Orbeetle. On the other side of the arena is Ray's ace—Scorchovia the Blaziken. The fire type seems ready for battle, eyeing up his metal opponent as his feathers fan out.
Ray: Alright, Techie. We're, um. We're testing the fire resistance of the Mark II bots. I know Elodie said the fire resistance was good enough, but she seemed nervous about the Chandelure line whenever it showed up in a team. She even pulled a bot out of rotation mid-fight so... Maybe she just didn't want the business to fall through? I. Don't know. She's been acting odd and—
<Bzzt! Ray! Any day now!>
The ex-champion seems startled by Techie's impatience, then gives a sheepish grin as they fidget with their necklace, looking away. A slight tremor can be seen in their fingers.
Ray: Right. Right. Sorry, I got carried away... Um. Basically, we're going to have Scorch here hit the bot with fire type moves of increasing intensity. If the bot stops functioning, we'll note which attack destroyed it and relay that back to Elodie so she can make upgrades.
They then give a slight bow and step out of frame, leaving only the pokemon and the machine in the shot. They strike a bell, which seems to cue the robot to begin attacking. It charges up a laser beam, which Scorch dodges with a dash as it's fired. A fluttering whistle is heard from off-screen, and Scorch responds to the wordless command by spitting an ember at the battlebot. It seems to singe the metal, but the robot otherwise remains functional. It zips around to the left side of the fire type, activating a set of jet-like thrusters which increase its speed.
Scorch stands in the center as the bot zips around him, somehow keeping an eye on it despite its blur of a movement. Then, a series of clicks followed by two whistles are heard. The fire type surrounds himself in a raging inferno, then punches down into the ground. This extinguishes the flame and sends out a shock wave of searing hot air into the arena. The battlebot spins out, the metal seeming warped and even glowing slightly in the thinner spots. Still, despite a beeping indicating an imminent overheat, it remains functional.
As it spins to face the fire type once again, two panels on its side creak and rattle in protest before finally snapping open. Two small cannons pop out of the sides with darts loaded into them. A sharp, long whistle is heard, the pitch reminiscent of a tea kettle at a boil. Scorch charges up a massive inferno around himself, crosses his arms as if bracing for an attack, then lunges forward and swipes his arms out while firing a blast of flame from his mouth, creating the distinct shape of a fire blast just as the darts are fired. The darts are incinerated in the fire, and when the blast hits the robot, the machine fares no better. When the smoke and embers clear, the bot has been reduced to a pile of molten scrap. It briefly tries to wheel to the other side of the ring, but it's motors quickly seize up, grind, and then finally die.
Ray walks back in the frame, scratching Scorch on the head as the flames dissipate from around them. Quiet coos of "that's a good boy" and "you did so well" can be heard as the Blaziken angles himself to receive the pets better. They pull a red pokeblock from their pocket and toss it in the air for their companion to snap up, beaming with pride.
That's when the screaming starts.
Elodie: WHAT DID YOU DO!?
Ray looks up just as Elodie lets out an agonized screen and bolts into frame, running into the ring and kneeling down beside the downed battlebot. Her expression is one of sheer terror, tears beading up in her wild eyes. Ray seems somewhat oblivious to the rising tension as her back is facing them.
Ray: Oh. Uh, sorry about the bot. Scorch and I were just running some flame resistance testing since you seemed worried. It, um... Lasted longer than I expected! It probably just needs more heatproofing here and there and—
As Ray approaches, rambling about the field test, they don't notice Elodie reaching for the wrench on her belt.
Elodie: ... You killed him.
Ray: ... Sorry? I don't—
Elodie: You killed. You killed him. You killed my BABY, YOU FUCKING MURDERER—
Elodie swings around with the wrench, clearly in hysterics. Scorch pulls Ray out of range moments before it would have connected with their skull. As they pull their machete, the footage cuts out.>
Hello. Castelia Residents. Do not be concerned if you see me sleeping on the sidewalk. Elodie and I got into an argument. It is fine. I am used to this. Thank you.
