5 Winter Skincare Essentials to Help Keep Skin Hydrated & Nourished
If the harsh winter elements have been less than kind to your face, it’s time to have your skin take center stage. Utilize hydrating and nourishing products that are formulated to deliver near-instant relief with long-lasting effects. With the following five skincare products and steps, your beautiful skin will be the star of the show in no time.
Tumblr media
2-in-1 Cleansing Milk & Makeup Remover Cleanse and remove stubborn makeup at the same time with a gentle cleansing milk and makeup remover in one multipurpose formula. It is the perfect product to leave your face feeling soft and refreshed. Look for a high-quality cleanser that will help the skin maintain its natural balance and that offers the hydrating properties of plant-based ingredients. Dry, dehydrated, and mature skin types will especially benefit from a product like this—particularly in the winter. Refreshing Toner Mist There’s something extremely soothing and satisfying about misting your face with a toner packed with essential oils like lavender, rosemary, geranium, and thyme. It gently awakens your senses and tones your skin at the same time. After cleansing, choose a toner tailored for your skin type, such as a toner for oily skin or toner for dry or sensitive skin. Massage your beauty mist into your skin before moving onto the next step. You can also mist your face whenever you need a daily pick-me-up. Hydration Serum A long-lasting and hydrating serum may be just the layer you need after your toner but before your moisturizer. Dehydrated skin will be comforted by an intense, hydrating serum that helps reduce the signs of aging caused by dehydrated skin. Look for a creamy gel that quickly absorbs with skin-loving hyaluronic acid and soothing, hydrating aloevera. A powerful serum will intensify the effects of your moisturizer—your winter skin will thank you. Reparative Cream You can feel the difference when wearing a luxuriously hydrating cream moisturizer because your skin will feel soft, supple, and look to have an enhanced glow. A vitamin-enriched formula with essential oils of rose, chamomile, and jasmine have balancing and relaxing aromatic effects. Hazelnut and grapeseed oils, plus shea butter, are beneficial ingredients for helping repair dry, dehydrated, or sensitive skin. Treatment Mask a Few Times a Week The sun, wind, cold, and all of the harsh environmental elements can leave your skin feeling damaged or dehydrated, as you may have experienced this winter. Take charge and apply an intensely hydrating mask one to three times a week or as needed. After cleansing and toning, let the mask sit for at least 20 minutes. Some cream masks can even be left on overnight, just be sure to check the product’s details before doing so. An excellent mask may feel really soothing after a long travel day too. Look for a vitamin-packed formula with soothing essential oils. If you have other specific skin concerns, such as dark spots, find a skincare brand you can trust to help you reveal your best complexion. A regimen may include dark spot cream, dark spot corrector, and dark spot fluid, for example. The best brands will have your needs dialed in and will help you choose the appropriate formulas.

From Peace Out to Sobel Skin Rx: 22 of the Best New Skincare Products In Stores This Month
We're only in January, but 2020 is already turning out to be a good year for skincare lovers. A whole bunch of new products arrive in stores this month, and I've got the lowdown on the most exciting and worthy investments.
Some of the highlights:
Microneedling-inspired wrinkle patches that deliver anti-aging ingredients deep into your skin
A strong but non-irritating next-generation retinoid in a lightweight lotion
A multitasking toner that exfoliates with gentle acids and brightens with niacinamide
Keep scrolling to discover the latest skincare launches you need to know about!
New Skincare for January 2020
Peace Out Wrinkles Anti-Wrinkle Microneedling Patches
Tumblr media
Peace Out Wrinkles Anti-Wrinkle Microneedling Patches
Peace Out Wrinkles Anti-Wrinkle Microneedling Patches are innovative patches that work like an overnight spot treatment anywhere you want to target wrinkles (such as the forehead, crow's feet or smile lines). Each one contains 450 self-dissolving hyaluronic acid microneedles that create pathways for the active ingredients to penetrate. Think: retinol, vitamin C and an array of peptides. To get results, they need to be worn for at least six hours, twice a week. So genius!
Sobel Skin Rx 4.5% Retinol Night Treatment
Tumblr media
Sobel Skin Rx 4.5% Retinol Night Treatment
Sobel Skin Rx 4.5% Retinol Night Treatment is an anti-aging retinoid serum formulated from gentle, non-toxic ingredients. It was developed by Dr. Howard Sobel, a NYC-based dermatologist whose new active clean skincare line JUST launched at Sephora. Despite the name, it contains not retinol but hydroxypinacolone retinoate (HPR), a next-gen retinoic acid ester that causes little to no irritation. So I believe it should be comparable in strength to The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane, but the texture is a lotion, not an oil.
(Note for Canadians: Any retinoids in concentrations equivalent to more than one percent retinol are restricted by Health Canada... so we can't buy this, unfortunately!)
The Inkey List PHA Toner
Tumblr media
The Inkey List PHA Toner
The Inkey List PHA Toner is an ultra-mild exfoliating and brightening toner for all skin types, especially sensitive. It's named for its three percent concentration of polyhydroxy acids (PHAs), which are like AHAs but more gentle. Bonus: It also has three percent niacinamide for controlling redness, oil and blemishes.
Tatcha The Serum Stick
Tumblr media
Tatcha The Serum Stick
Tatcha The Serum Stick is a moisturizer in solid balm form that you can swipe on over or under makeup to hydrate dry skin. It's made up of 80 percent squalane; there's also beeswax, hyaluronic acid and vitamin E. This would be ideal for airplane travel, or to carry in your handbag for moisture on the go!
Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask
Tumblr media
Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask
Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask is an overnight moisturizing mask with cooling properties. It's meant to plump skin, calm redness and repair the skin barrier, using ingredients such as squalane, propanediol, niacinamide and olive oil esters. The "F" stands for "vitamin F," a.k.a. linolenic and linoleic acids, which are encapsulated to preserve freshness.
Biossance Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum
Tumblr media
Biossance Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum
Biossance Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum is a gentle exfoliating serum that can be worn underneath your moisturizer every night. It targets dead skin with a 10 percent concentration of lactic acid, while squalane (the brand's signature ingredient) and glycerin deliver weightless hydration.
Sobel Skin Rx 15% Niacinamide Gel Serum
Tumblr media
Sobel Skin Rx 15% Niacinamide Gel Serum
Sobel Skin Rx 15% Niacinamide Gel Serum is a hydrating, brightening, pore-tightening and anti-wrinkle treatment for all skin types. That's the power of niacinamide—and this gel-like serum boasts the highest concentration I've seen, 15 percent. The other ingredients include glycerin, allantoin, chamomile and cucumber extract.
Dr. Barbara Sturm Lifting Serum
Tumblr media
Dr. Barbara Sturm Lifting Serum
Dr. Barbara Sturm Lifting Serum is a firming and tightening serum that promises a smoother, more lifted look within an hour of application, with the results lasting several hours. So it's definitely something you'd use before an important event, but also has long-term benefits thanks to the purslane, hyaluronic acid and algae extracts.
Farmacy Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream
Tumblr media
Farmacy Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream
Farmacy Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream is a hydrating and brightening eye cream that may help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles. It targets the latter with four percent vitamin C (the derivatives ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate and glyceryl ascorbate as well as cherry extract). It also contains caffeine and hyaluronic acid.
Herbivore Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial
Tumblr media
Herbivore Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial
Herbivore Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial is a jelly-textured mask to exfoliate and brighten dull skin, inspired by the Serum of the same name. Since it's all-natural, the acids are derived from sources such as bilberry, sugarcane and willow bark (which makes them gentler than straight glycolic or salicylic acid). You're meant to use this once or twice per week.
Tarte Knockout Daily Exfoliating Cleanser
Tumblr media
Tarte Knockout Daily Exfoliating Cleanser
Tarte Knockout Daily Exfoliating Cleanser is an exfoliating gel cleanser for normal to oily skin. It's sulfate-free, produces a silky lather, and helps to remove dead skin using lactic, glycolic and salicylic acids. (It obviously won't be as strong an exfoliation as the matching Knockout Tingling Treatment toner, which you leave on.)
Glow Recipe Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream
Tumblr media
Glow Recipe Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream
Glow Recipe Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream is a lightweight and silicone-free moisturizer made from clean ingredients and less than one percent synthetic fragrance. Glycerin, coconut alkanes and squalane do most of the hydrating, and it also has banana water, magnesium and Centella Asiatica extract to calm irritation.
Dr. Dennis Gross Stress Rescue Super Serum
Tumblr media
Dr. Dennis Gross Stress Rescue Super Serum
Dr. Dennis Gross Stress Rescue Super Serum is an anti-aging serum designed to strengthen the skin's microbiome and combat signs of stress such as worry lines, redness and breakouts. The star ingredient is niacinamide (although we don't know the concentration), combined with a superfood complex of mushroom, maca root, cacao and goji berry.
January Labs Triple Active Reclaiming Serum
Tumblr media
January Labs Triple Active Reclaiming Serum
January Labs Triple Active Reclaiming Serum is a clean anti-aging serum that's mild enough for sensitive skin. Its active ingredients include niacinamide, retinol, sodium ascorbyl phosphate (a vitamin C derivative) and lactic acid, combined with aloe vera and glycerin for moisture. Niacinamide is probably doing most of the work here (since there's two percent); the retinol concentration is only 0.025 percent (from the 0.5 percent RetiStar, the same complex as The Inkey List Retinol).
First Aid Beauty FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask
Tumblr media
First Aid Beauty FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask
First Aid Beauty FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask is a soothing and moisturizing mask for dry skin that's in need of some TLC. Shea butter, cocoa butter and fatty alcohols give it a creamy, nourishing texture, while arnica, calendula and Centella Asiatica help to calm sensitivity.
Ole Henriksen Truth Juice Daily Cleanser
Tumblr media
Ole Henriksen Truth Juice Daily Cleanser
Ole Henriksen Truth Juice Daily Cleanser is a gel-cream cleanser that promises to remove dirt, oil and even waterproof makeup in one step. The sulfate-free formula features mild cleansing agents, PHAs to gently exfoliate, and orange extracts to give it a citrusy scent.

The ingredients include coconut extract, aloe vera, fatty alcohol and mushroom extracts, and the brand recommends using it twice for a double cleanse. Ole Henriksen C-Rush Brightening Double Crème
Tumblr media
Ole Henriksen C-Rush Brightening Double Crème
Ole Henriksen C-Rush Brightening Double Crème is a rich, intensive moisturizer for dry skin. Besides hydrating with glycerin, propanediol, fatty alcohols and shea butter, it also brightens with three forms of vitamin C (ethyl ascorbic acid, tetrahexydecyl ascorbate and ascorbic acid). Although it's not silicone-free or fragrance-free, both are far down on the ingredients list.
Indie Lee De-Stress Body Wash
Tumblr media
Indie Lee De-Stress Body Wash
Indie Lee De-Stress Body Wash is a clean, sulfate-free body wash with aromatherapeutic benefits. The blend of patchouli, lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus essential oils help you to unwind and release stress after a long day (although you could certainly use this in the mornings, too!).

Safe & Healthy Skin Care: What Products Are Kindest to Your Skin?
Tumblr media
Your skin serves as a barrier to protect your body from harm, so it's important to treat it with the utmost care.
When it comes to safe & healthy skincare, how do you know which products are good for you, and which might cause you skin-related woes?
Read on to discover some of the best products that will treat your skin right, even if it's sensitive and prone to irritation.
Start with Gentle Cleansers
Cleansing your skin is the first step to an effective skincare routine. If you're prone to redness, clogged pores, or irritation from cleansers, it's important to choose something with the right ingredients.
The best skincare for sensitive skin should nourish your skin while removing dirt and impurities. Our Cleanse Daily™ Vitamin-Infused Cleanser includes healthy ingredients like olive oil, which is known to soften and condition the skin.
Look for products that contain natural ingredients instead of harsh and potentially toxic chemicals. Cleanse Daily contains healthy, good-for-you vitamins, rosehip seed oil, and seaweed so your skin feels clean, fresh, and renewed without any harsh side effects.
If you really want to make sure you're buying safe & healthy skin care products, read labels carefully. If the ingredients list has items you don't recognize or can't pronounce, the product is probably not good for your sensitive skin.
After you cleanse, use an exfoliator to remove dead skin cells and reveal a fresh, clean complexion. Our Crushed Bamboo Exfoliator polishes away dull skin with gentle ingredients that won't cause breakouts or redness. Ingredients like cucumber, rosemary, and calendula help to soothe and calm the skin.
Safe & Healthy Skin Care Requires Hydration
After you cleanse and exfoliate, moisturizing your skin is a must. Even if you have oily or acne-prone skin, it's important to apply the right moisturizer to keep your skin's natural balance in check.
Daily Dose Of Water™ Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum is a lightweight moisturizing serum that brings life to dry, dull skin. The formula absorbs quickly to increase moisture levels with gentle ingredients like hyaluronic acid. This ingredient can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water and binds moisture to the skin.
When you use the best skincare for sensitive skin, you'll notice a softer, more supple complexion. Your skin should look and feel radiant and not weighed down.
When using a moisturizer, apply it once the morning, and once in the evening. Only use a thin layer, and let the moisturizer dry before you apply any other treatments or cosmetics.
Treat Your Sensitive Skin with a Mask
Masks come in a myriad of formulas and styles, so it can be difficult to know which ones are best for those with sensitive skin. Our Cold Compress™ Soothing Cucumber Mask soothes and hydrates your skin with a cooling gel formula that gives relief to sensitive or stressed skin.
The natural plant-based extracts in this mask include cucumber, aloe, and chamomile. This combination soothes and hydrates the skin while gel formulation cools on contact.
If you have inflamed, red, or rosacea-prone skin, this mask is an excellent choice. Be sure to apply the mask twice a week, and remove it with tepid water and follow with a moisturizer.
When you look for skincare treatments, always make sure that they're labeled for all skin types or for those with sensitive skin. Any treatment that contains harsh ingredients or chemicals could make your current condition worse.
For those with dry, mature, or sun-damaged skin, try our Daily Fruit™ Antioxidant Moisturizing Mango Mask. This anti-aging mask is chock full of skin-nurturing ingredients that improve collagen formation. Emollient oils restore aging skin while giving you a boost of moisture.
Protect Your Sensitive Skin
UV rays from the sun can cause serious damage to your skin. In fact, most skin cancers are a result of exposure to UV rays in sunlight, according to the American Cancer Society.
Even if your skin isn't particularly sensitive, it's crucial to keep it safe from the sun's harsh rays as much as possible. Our Skin Defense™ Environmental Protection SPF 30 provides a protective barrier to prevent harm from both UVA and UVB rays.
This FDA-approved formula is naturally moisturizing, and the broad-spectrum sunscreen will help to prevent serious problems like sunburn or sun damage. Apply this protectant in the morning, and reapply as needed if you're going to be outdoors for an extended period of time.
Using a skincare product with sunscreen is extremely important and should always be a part of any skincare routine. Our formula is perfect for all skin types, but it's especially important to use if your skin is prone to burning or if it's overly sensitive.
It's also important to protect your eyes from sun damage, and our Easy On The Eyes™ Smoothing Cream is an excellent addition to your daily skincare application. This smoothing eye cream improves fine lines, bags, and dark circles with rice peptides, yeast protein, and hyaluronic acid.
With the right protectants and treatments, your sensitive skin can stay smooth, clear, and beautiful in any season. Use our eye smoothing cream to eradicate puffiness, dark circles, and unwanted texture around the eyes.
Treat Your Skin Right
When it comes to safe & healthy skin care, ClarityRx is the best skincare line for sensitive skin. A combination of pure ingredients and proven formulas gives you the products you need to achieve healthy, glowing skin that's smooth and moisturized.
To shop our line of products or to find out more, visit our website or contact us today.

What Sports Can Teach Us About best mens body wash
Natural Body Wash For Men
Tumblr media
Know Your Skin Type
Store the body wash out of the reach of children and pets. While bar soap has been around for thousands of years, liquid body wash is much more recent.
Oleavine Antifungal Soap With Tea Tree And Neem
The body wash is unique and the best of all kinds in its ability not to over-dry the skin after cleansing. With its coconut surfactants and sage with rosemary oil, the body wash moisturizes the skin effectively. Although the product has never been tested on animals, it lathers well and rinse off easily. Every man Jack is made clean the body deeply and free the skin from dirt.
Jack Black Turbo Wash Energizing Cleanser For Hair healthiest body wash & Body
I don’t usually trust just any shampoo brands because I had a horrible experience using shampoo. I consulted a doctor and told me to stop using shampoo products. From then on, I only use aloe gel fresh from garden and some coconut oil. I’m two years late to the party, but some “moisturizing” bar soaps work wonderfully for hair because they have those extra oils, especially ones with argan oil or avocado oil.
Rugged & Dapper Shampoo & Body Wash For Men
It is also an everyday body wash that can be part of any morning routine. It moisturizes the skin and leaves you refreshed to take on the day. It can be used both as a body wash or in a bubble bath because of the foaming action produced through the inclusion of coconut in the formula. The fragrance can be something of a concern for those with sensitive skin.
Bar Soap
As there are a number of different shower gels and best body wash available in the market, it can become impossible to find the perfect one for your body. NIVEA Men Platinum Protect 3 in 1 body wash is exclusively designed for men which can provide high end cleaning and protection. Along with quick dirt cleaning and long lasting masculine scent, the product absolutely does not cause skin dryness or irritation.
Tumblr media
That’s why we have picked all the body washes which are cruelty-free. It fights dry skin at the source to effectively hydrate your skin and its long-lasting scent keeps you smelling great. Staying clean is so easy as the body wash has a thick creamy texture that lathers up into a nice foam to remove dirt and sweat and washes off quickly without leaving a greasy film on your skin. You will enjoy clean, fresh, and moisturized smooth skin that is bathed in a spicy crisp apple and fresh herb scent.
Sulfate-Free – Sulfates give soap and shampoo the lathering effect. Avoid ingredients sodium lauryl, sodium lureth sulfate, or lauryl sulfate (SLS).
I can smell it on my boyfriend’s skin a few minutes after he uses it, and it comes in a great huge pump bottle simple and elegant bottle that i will certainly be reusing. Men with sensitive skin might find this product a little strong. The best thing is that it fights irritation, which is why it is a great choice if you have sensitive skin. Nivea men shower products are positioned to cleanse the body, face and hair. Check that before starting to use your body wash every time you take a shower.
When you use expired body wash, you’re opening yourself up to possible bacterial infections. The more all-natural ingredients in it, the more likely you are to see a short shelf life. Exfoliating Wash – This is the ticket when you have rough, dry, or cracked skin. Gel wash is great for those with eczema—if you have dry skin that feels devoid of moisture when you get out of the shower, gel wash can help. If you want to smell awesome all day long while still doing your bit to protect our precious planet, then this paragon and cruelty-free body wash with its woodsy scent is the one for you.
It has a creamy consistency—kind of like a top-notch hand soap that leaves your hands feeling soft and cleansed. It helps restore your skin to its healthiest state, after a day's worth of environmental damage and UV rays. Although this is for both men and women, we have chosen this product as our top pick basically because of its unmatched effectiveness in providing relief for dry skin. It has a plant-powered formulation, so there is no risk of suffering from skin irritation.
Tumblr media
Thick lathers eventually distract distribution of oil in the skin. Several body wash products have multipurpose tags in their package. The type and quality of aroma and scent always compel us to buy a men’s body wash product. A body wash is called as such because of its scent quality. Apparently, it can only be as good as its lasting fragrance.
This best body wash for dry skin for men works great on the dry and sensitive skin. It also creates a defense against athlete’s foot, acne, jock itch, ringworm, nail fungus, hot spots, and other skin irritations. This body wash ensures proper hydration to relieve you from dry skin problems.
So if you have dry skin, it’s more important than ever to buy an all-natural moisturizing body wash or cleanser. When dealing with dry skin, your body wash should offer moisturizing agents to hydrate from deep within. Natural oils and moisturizers pair up well with sebum oil to encourage the latter to produce just enough oil and moisture.
Chemical ingredients are known to cause irritation and skin problems in some cases for which this product is best suitable to be used. For men who are interest in purchasing a product made exclusively out of natural and inspiring ingredients, our next pick for the best men’s body wash will deliver unexpected results.

A Step-by-Step Guide to best moisturizing body wash sweet almond oil
Best Body Wash For Sensitive Skin 2016
Tumblr media
Best Body Washes For Men Your Skin Would Adore
The stronger ingredients I’m talking about here are benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Both help in preventing breakouts on an oily skin surface without stripping off all the natural moisture and oil that are essential parts of your skin. You might also find your skin aging faster and maybe even becomes excessively dry. So, at such times, the best men's body wash is designed to suit your particular skin type. Paraben-free and cruelty-free; the two labels that actually matter if you’re skin and environment-friendly consumer.
Choose All-natural Fragrances
Tumblr media
This body wash contains essential oils like castor oil, rosemary oil, and clary sage oil. These oils are very effective in hydrating your skin even if you had a hard day at work and it also rejuvenates your skin as well. It wasn’t too long ago that many men discovered the simplicity and ease of using a shower gel over the soap bar, considering the difficulty of removing soap residue from your soap dish.
Old Spice Hydro Body Wash
One ingredient she says everyone should also avoid is microbeads in exfoliating washes, since they can be harmful to the environment. "Also, for people looking to move away from using plastic altogether, bar soap typically has less packaging than body wash," she adds. Pure coconut oil is used for “pulling” (AKA teeth cleaning) and it’s 100% natural and anti-bacterial. Modern commercial toothpaste can also contain dodgy chemicals such as triclosan (increases antibiotic resistance in the environment) and BHT, so there’s another reason to make the switch. Zoe started to make her own products for her beauty routine and has now created a range of handmade plastic-free cosmetic accessories.
And The Winner Is… Body Wash Vs. Bar Soap
Their products are widely used because they are usually rich in glycerin and mineral oils.
This all-natural body wash for men with mint, tea tree oil, and coconut-based cleansers cleanse your skin of oil and sweat.
Another wonderful brand that you should look out for is Dove. They specialize in the personal care and body care products.
If you’re on a budget, Pears is another interesting brand that provides you with an amazing body wash that’s loaded with moisture.
Crown choice body wash is good for damaged skin, good for the treatment of of eczema and redness of all skin types. The organic ingredients used in the product are used to treat skin damage and chaffed skins.
Best Body Washes Every Man Needs (Review) In 2020
So it comes as no surprise that Dove has created the best body wash for men. Once you know your skin type, it becomes easier to choose an appropriate body wash. But that doesn’t mean that your skin type will always be clear-cut. In fact, you might be one of those people with a skin type that straddles between two or more of the well-known skin types. However, characteristically, one can have acne-prone, dry or sensitive skin.
Ld Spice Men’s Body Wash, Swagger Scent, Red Collection
Aloe vera also plays a role in skin hydration and provides vitamins. However, the brand also makes a 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner and body wash that works to eliminate odour from all angles rather than masking it with a heavy fragrance. What sets the Hose Off 2-in-1 Body Wash apart from the rest of the products is the formula based on a mix of essential oils.
After trying many shampoo options from vinegar to various "shampoo bars" (and hating them all) on a whim one day I tried the peppermint goat milk soap I was using for shaving lather on my hair. It lathered like regular shampoo and did not leave my hair squeaky or covered in oil. “It feels so good on a cold winter day or after a tough workout, but that hot water is very damaging and irritating to our skin,” he says. Hot water dissolves and washes away the natural oils on the skin, Dr. Garden says.

10 Celebrities Who Should Consider a Career in homemade natural body wash coconut oil
Best Natural Soap Bar
Tumblr media
I made it with argan & jojoba oils and used lavender, chamomile & geranium EOs. Thank you for yet another wonderful recipe for us who are trying to eliminate chemicals from our lives. Pamper yourself with an all-natural formula that is not only comforting for your itchy, sensitive, and dry skin but also leaves you with a soft, supple skin.
Calily Life Organic Tea Tree Oil Antibacterial Body Wash with Dead Sea Minerals
For older adults, this means purchasing cosmetics and skincare products that contain ingredients that encourage the production of collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycans. These components of our skin help to keep it elastic and supple, which contribute to how firm it looks. Glycosaminoglycans, in particular, help encourage hydration, which keeps skin healthy, and minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. In the winter, when I need a body wash that’s a little more moisturizing than a foam, this is hands down the one I want to reach for. The moisture ribbons, as the brand calls them, are really just pockets of body lotion wrapped in a clean (not overly flowery) floral body wash.
My Organic Baby Shampoo and Body Wash Reviews
Aveeno skin relief is formulated with soothing oat that lathers easily and nourishes the skin. If you have itchy and dry skin, pregnancy could make it drier. The naturally pampering pregnancy gift is your best bet for soothing the skin during that crucial period when all eyes are set on your baby bump. Don’t miss google image search for seeing the potentially horrible effects of citrus essential oils combined with sunlight on your skin. Why do people who are otherwise so anxious of chemical ingredients publish such recipes without knowing what they are doing? Eucalyptus and anything citrus essential oil dries my skin. I can’t use any essential oils just about in my homemade things. The only ones to use especially for sensitive/dry skin would probably be lavender.
Nature’s Baby Organics, Shampoo & Body Wash, Lavender Chamomile, 8 oz (236.5 ml)
They leave skin feeling clean, smooth, firm and healthy, almost as if they doubled as a body lotion. But so does cleaning yourself only with water (since water has a pH of 7, which is higher than the skin’s pH). Likewise, even chemically “pH balanced” (which means slightly acidic detergents) disrupt the skin’s natural acid mantle. All natural soaps are more or less alkaline, whereas the skin’s natural acid mantle is – well – acidic. What should concern you is that the use of palm oil in products of any kind is detrimental to the earth.

You don’t have to worry about irritation because using this product doesn’t cause irritation or dryness to your skin. This body wash contains essential oils like castor oil, rosemary oil, and clary sage oil.

For serious hydration at a low price, you can’t beat this tropical-inspired body wash from OGX. It calls on coconut oil, lye vanilla bean extract, silk amino acids, and safflower seed oil to moisturize skin and emanate a sweet scent.
NIVEA Men’s Body Wash is the cheapest option for men looking for clean skin and a light fragrance after every wash. This scented body wash takes deep-clean and long-lasting odor control to the next level. Aloe vera, Atlantic sea kelp, tea tree and eucalyptus condition and smooth irritated skin.
Long hot showers should be avoided as it strips the natural moisture of the skin and will make it dry. Aside from providing dry skin relief, the body wash that you should choose must be able to provide other benefits as well. Known for their iconic commercials, Old Spice is one of the most trusted brands when it comes to skincare for men. This specific product lathers nicely without leaving the skin feeling dry.

If those chemicals are bad for your skin, just think of the harm they are doing when you wash them off your body and down the drain. Plus, they are usually grown without the use of pesticides and are manufactured in the safest ways possible to reduce the brand’s carbon footprint. One of the best ways to address dry skin starts in the shower.
What makes a body wash vegan or cruelty-free?
For those with sensitive skin, a fragrance-free formula that’s mild and pH balanced is your best bet. It’s about feeling fresh and good in your own skin and taking some time for yourself. This gentle cleanser can be used on both your body and your face. It contains a pH5 citrate buffer that preserves the skin’s natural pH levels, while glycerin prevents moisture loss and protects the skin. Plus, it’s free of fragrances, soaps, and dyes, making it a top choice for those with sensitive skin and even eczema, which many Amazon reviewers point out.
Many contain menthol, particularly within the men’s bath and body sphere, due to its masculine and refreshing scent. But you could always just use at night or use other essential oils if you are worried. I have read from many sources that it’s okay to use in soaps. Please google “phototoxic citrus oil” to see how dangerous your recipe can be.

There’s also a little kaolin clay to gently exfoliate the skin. Just like everyone else, some black people have naturally dry skin and others have naturally oily skin. "The most lush, abundant suds I've ever experienced from a body wash, and it was so light and refreshing," one tester reported. Their body wash variants include Rainbath refreshing gel and Pink Grapefruit. After comparing the body wash and bar soap in different categories, you can easily tell who won or lost but it all boils down to what you prefer. It wasn’t too long ago that many men discovered the simplicity and ease of using a shower gel over the soap bar, considering the difficulty of removing soap residue from your soap dish. An amazing blend of essential oils, this shower gel gently moisturizes your body and makes it smooth and soft. It’s enriched with fresh rose extracts because of which it is super gentle on all skin types.

10 Best Shampoo For Dry Itchy Scalp [2020 Reviews] Black was my most trusted friend, wardrobe-wise, I found out early on. It saved me so much effort.  The formula was gold; little black dress, pants, shirt, tee, pullover, everything...  I always looked sharp, or presentable, at least. This however came with a whole new issue. I watched my life moment playing out in dandruff advertisements where the guy has to rethink his fashion choices because of the white flakes on his shoulders. That was my story, but just the “before” part. I’ve come a long way from that today and I should say am dandruff free and black continues to be my favorite color. [su_note note_color="#abf4eb"]I am not alone in this and many of you readers have been through your own dandruff difficulty. Luckily for you, I’ve done enough of searching for all of us and I am going to share what I know. What’s more, all of the products on my list are available to you online![/su_note] Best Shampoo For Dry Flaky Scalp Reviews [su_note note_color="#fde5f5"]So say goodbye to dry, itchy and flaky skin, and say hello to my list of best shampoos for dry scalp. Laid out are the details for you guide you to a new hair experience.[/su_note] [table id=2 /] Why Your Scalp Is Dry And Flaky Before we dive into this, let us take time to understand the issue that dandruff is. That flaky skin falling off our scalps and causing so much embarrassment could actually be one of two things or both. There is plain dry skin that is a lack of moisture that we suffer during cold weather or some sort of contact dermatitis. Then there is dandruff that is a result of oily hair follicles that cause a build-up of greasy dead skin cells that eventually shed. The understanding of the underlying issue had changed my focus on the type of products I go for.  It was dry skin that showed up on my collar so I figured, in long eventuality, that it was because my scalp needed hydration. I also found out because the products that seemed to do the job were moisturising in nature, be it shampoo, conditioner or moisturizer. Fighting The Pain Of Dry Scalp With The Best Dry Scalp Shampoos Reviews Pure Tea Tree Oil Shampoo-The Best Natural Shampoo Maple Holistics is quite the response to today’s conscious consumer looking for natural remedies.  Among their line of products is the tea tree oil shampoo which I discovered online as to be quite popular. It is the absence of two common shampoo ingredients – parabens and sulfates – that are considered as carcinogens which is the draw. For those who are dealing with dandruff but wish to keep things natural, you might want to try the Maple Holistics tea tree oil shampoo The star ingredient, tea tree oil, known for its germicidal properties fights off bacteria, yeast and fungus that are mostly the cause of itchy scalp and dandruff. This, in combination with the other essential oils including rosemary, lavender, argan and jojoba oil present in the concoction, hydrate the scalp which you will remember is a major cause of flaky skin. [amazon box="B0099EHM86" grid="1"] Pros: The product is natural and is also GMO and cruelty free besides being sulfate and paraben free. It is also useful in treating seborrheic dermatitis, head lice, hair loss, dandruff, and inflammation, issues which may accompany dry scalp. If it doesn’t do the job, there is a money back guarantee on offer. Finally, for those who do not like heavily fragrant shampoo, this is a great option. Cons: For all its benefits, it is no surprise it comes with a steep price tag. Head and Shoulders Dry Scalp Care-Best Budget-friendly Dry Scalp Shampoo Head and Shoulders has always been prominent among the brands of shampoos claiming to do away with our flaky issue. The shampoo will always find a place on my bathroom shelf. It gets the job done.  The almond oil in the shampoo does well to hydrate the scalp as it is easily absorbed while pyrithione zinc and simultaneously deals with the dandruff. There are, of course, other products in this line to deal with other requirements like extra conditioning, or cooling for that extra itchy scalp. The product claims being dermatologically tested and works its magic in two weeks of use; it has for me at least. Its anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and germicidal properties are just added benefits that I’ll take any day. [amazon box="B001F51RF6" grid="1"] Pros: The fact that it’s a well known brand waive off certain concerns of trust. The cost is reasonable considering natural products usually hit the pocket hard. The family twin pack it comes in is good for bigger families. Cons: It contains sulfates and might put off those looking for more natural remedies. Another matter of preference is the fragrance which is quite masculine. Regenepure - DR Shampoo-The Best Scalp Treatment Shampoo This one is a mix of hydrating goodness that I highly recommend. Packed with a range of extracts, oils and vitamin the formula nurture the follicles. And then they went on to add caffeine to the mix, yet another ingredient I will not shy away from. The active ingredients – ketoconazole and salicylic acid work on preserving hair follicles.  Its anti fungal property also helps target seborrheic dermatitis while the salicylic acid exfoliates the dandruff away solving your main issue. Those looking to avoid parabens and sulfates will be happy to know that the shampoo doesn’t contain the compounds. Jojoba oil, which is known to promote hair growth, has been added for extra hydration. To improve upon it, emu oil has been added to improve the health of the scalp; the oil derived from the flightless bird has always been believed by the aborigine of Australia to be useful for the treatment of skin ailment. Finally, for it cooling effect, aloe vera was incorporated, along with vitamins n zinc oxide. Dare we ask for more? [amazon box="B0032FSDOA" grid="1"] Pros: The benefits listed are numerous. They include hair thickening and scalp treatment. The product is Sulfate-free and paraben-free and hence attractive to many, not to mention that it is not tested on animals. Cons: It’s slightly steep on the pocket but absolutely worth it. Puriya Scalp Therapy-For Dry Scalp and Hair Loss Along with the embarrassment of a flaky scalp comes the irritation of an itchy head. It’s just unbecoming on both counts. Puriya Scalp therapy is one of the better treatments for these issues. The anti fungal ingredients including tea tree oil, sage, arnica, and rosemary work together to hydrate dry scalp and itchiness. Made with natural ingredients, the product is safe to use on a daily basis and not limited to any age group or hair type. I saw a difference within a few days of use. It has also worked wonders on hair fall for people I have suggested this to. This is probably because of the scalp care the product provides.  [amazon box="B016NEOL8I" grid="1"] Pros:  Again, the naturally derived ingredients will attract those looking to find an alternate way to treat dandruff and dry scalp. The shampoo is free of sulfates, paraben, sodium chloride as well as synthetic fragrances. It is gentle on scalp and hair as it has been ph balanced and suited to all ages and hair types. And, if it doesn't work, there is a 180 day money back guarantee. Cons:  The fragrance might not be up to everyone's liking and may not be suitable for users of all ages. It is slightly expensive. Nioxin Scalp Recovery Cleanser-The Best Shampoo for Flaking and Itching The active ingredient of Nioxin Scalp Recovery Cleanser is pyrithione zinc, a known anti-fungal component that fights flaking and relieves itching. And the shampoo really does deliver in this regard. Unlike the other products on this list, however, it doesn’t get big marks for containing natural ingredients. It’s not sulfate-free either. If this is an issue with you, I recommend trying the other natural shampoos I’ve listed. However, it does the job pretty well and if you’re looking for something that work quickly, this is it. [amazon box="B000F4EMP0" grid="1"] Pros: Pyrithione zinc reduces flaking and itching. The shampoo lathers quite well and if you love a good mass of bubbles, you’ll certainly like this! Cons: The shampoo contains a lot of synthetic chemicals, which may be irritating to some users. It contains sulfates and sodium chloride too, the latter of which is linked to dry scalp. Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo-The Best Fast-acting Shampoo Neutrogena’s T-Gel Therapeutic Shampoo is specially formulated to treat dry scalp and itchiness. The company claims its effects can be seen in just one use but it took several washes to work for me. Still, the fact that it reduced dryness and itchiness is what has me listing the product. If any of you have psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis, it will quite possible do the job as it’s designed for these two conditions as well. You don’t need to use the shampoo frequently. Once a week makes a difference too, which leads me to believe that the formula is pretty potent. [amazon box="B0009KN8UA" grid="1"] Pros: It’s highly effective against dry scalp and you’ll get relief in just a few washes. The active ingredient is coal tar, which is known to alleviate dryness and itchiness. Cons: While the fast-action formula is a big plus, it contains certain ingredients that are considered harmful and irritating such as sulfate. You may want to try other sulfate-free shampoos from the list if this is a concern. The fragrance is pretty chemical too, which can put people off. ArtNaturals Dandruff Shampoo-The Best Nourishing Shampoo Coal tar. It may not sound like the most appealing or the safest ingredient to put on your scalp but it’s been used for ages to treat dandruff, scalp psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis. ArtNaturals knows this too because its dandruff shampoo containing coal tar has really helped with my dry scalp, especially reducing the itching. It could be due to the inclusion of argan oil and jojoba too. The formula is very gentle, which is a big plus if you have sensitive skin. According to the company, the essential oils repair split ends and nourish the hair. While I can’t vouch for the split-end part (trimming them is the only cure), the product does make hair silkier and a lot softer. I wouldn’t be surprised if it prevented split ends rather than cure it. [amazon box="B07J6GMBMC" grid="1"] Pros: It contains argan oil and jojoba oil and coal tar. It’s free of sulfates and parabens and isn’t tested on animals. Cons: Although not yet proven, some believe that coal tar may be linked to cancer. If you aren’t comfortable with this, I suggest you pick another shampoo from the list. Amplixin Scalp Therapy Shampoo I’ve read that caffeine can cause dry scalp and even dandruff but I’m happy to say it only wakes me up! This brings me to Amplixin Scalp Therapy Shampoo, a doctor-reviewed product that contains caffeine and tea tree oil. According to the company – who quoted the International Journal of Dermatology – caffeine can be a stimulator for hair growth when applied topically. That’s good news for all us coffee lovers who can’t do without our daily dose of java! Aside from caffeine, the shampoo contains tea tree oil, known for its anti-fungal and moisturizing properties, and aloe vera, which alleviates irritation. The trio of ingredients really do deliver and the product significantly reduces dry scalp and itchiness. I’ve also noticed a drop in dandruff. [amazon box="B07FKR7YRX" grid="1"] Pros: It’s free of sulfates and parabens and isn’t tested on animals. It’s suitable for all hair types as well as for men and women. Cons: Like a lot of products that don’t contain sulfate, the shampoo doesn’t lather much and you may feel the need to use more. You don’t have to, of course, as the ingredients will do what they’re supposed to. Some users also say that it doesn’t really reduce itching and a few have said that they had a negative reaction. The Wonder Tree Hemp Oil Shampoo Hemp oil is an undervalued ingredient but thanks to a growing number of companies including it in their products, more people are beginning to know about its benefits. The Wonder Seed is one such company and its hemp shampoo is testament to how good the stuff is. The formula is 100 percent natural – which is a big plus – and contains several other ingredients known to reduce flaking and itching. It has aloe vera, ginseng, jojoba and cocoa butter to moisturize the scalp and hair. The shampoo is color-safe too so all you readers who have recently colored your hair can rest assured. But what I really love about The Wonder Seed’s hemp oil shampoo is that it doesn’t contain any toxins. This means no sulfates, no parabens and even no fragrance. If you have sensitive skin, you know this matters. It’s cruelty-free too! [amazon box="B008WLOR62" grid="1"] Pros: The formula is very gentle on the scalp since it doesn’t contain irritants and toxins. It’s complete natural and cruelty-free. Cons: A few people have said that they developed itchiness and flakiness. Maple Holistics Argan Oil Shampoo-The Best Gentle Treatment Shampoo You’ve probably heard about the benefits of argan oil. If you haven’t, it’s time to be informed! This miracle worker is known to nourish hair, giving it life and bounce, and nourish skin by alleviating dryness. It’s this latter that makes it such a great ingredient for combating dry scalp. Maple Holistics knows this, which is why its argan oil shampoo is such a blessing. It moisturizes the scalp to prevent dry skin so you don’t have to worry about itchiness and flaking. Yet, the benefits don’t stop there. The shampoo also contains ingredients we know and love such as jojoba, which balances oil production; keratin, which reduces frizz; and almond oil, which restores moisture. Combined, they make a powerful team that work to eliminate dry scalp once and for all. I need to mention that the product is cruelty-free, which as many of us know by now, is an aspect that we should all consider!] [amazon box="B076Q7L95C" grid="1"] Pros: Maple Holistics’ argan oil shampoo is a great choice for men, women and teens and works on all hair types. It’s loaded with vitamins A, D, E, B1 and B2 as well. Cons: Though I didn’t face any problems with the product, some users have reported that it dries out the hair. It shouldn’t be case but if yours dries out easily too, I’d suggest using a conditioner along with it. Buyer’s Guide to the Best Shampoos for Dry Scalp As you can see, there’s a really huge variety of shampoos for dry scalp available today. Natural ingredients that are gentle on skin are what you want to look for along with active ingredients that are known to relieve dry scalp symptoms. While not many lean towards shampoos with too many chemicals, there are some products that do a great job. I suppose it boils down to the concerns you have regarding these – such as sulfates and parabens – and if you’re willing to try them. [su_note note_color="#fde5f5"]As for me, I prefer formulations that make as least use of them as possible.[/su_note] How to choose dry scalp shampoo Dry scalp can be a pain to take care of, not to mention an embarrassment. The itchiness that goes along with it leaves you worrying if anyone will catch you trying to squeeze in a scratch. The worse part? It happens at the darndest times! Meeting, dates, in public – you name it. Yet that’s not even what gets you down. Choosing the right shampoo is more of a hassle because it so happens that the scalp and the hair are often very different. For instance, you could buy shampoo for itchy scalp but your hair could end up unusually oily or sometimes too dry. Or maybe you don’t like some of the ingredients in which case you’ll be forced to choose another brand. With no many nitty gritties to consider, we’ve put together this handy buying guide to help you in your quest! Look for dry scalp specific products There are tons of products in the markets too, so much so that you have a dizzyingly long list to choose from. Shampoos formulated specifically for dry scalp are what you should look for as they aim to rid dryness in the scalp without making hair oily. Of course, it doesn’t work for everyone and some people report that their hair does ultimately get oily. [su_note note_color="#fde5f5"]The solution, in this case, is to switch between shampoos. Use dry scalp shampoo until the issue is resolved and switch to a gentle formula. Alternating is also important when the seasons change since the weather plays a big role in deciding the state of your scalp and hair. You’ll want to use more moisturizing shampoos in winter to counter the cold and dryness and move to lighter shampoos in summer.[/su_note] Avoid ingredients like sulfate Sulfate is a great lathering agent which is why it’s included in so many beauty and household products. You’ll find it in soaps, detergents, cleaners and shampoos among a few. Despite its extensive use, it’s not good for the health of the scalp and hair. It’s drying and only exacerbates the problem. People with eczema are advised to avoid it all costs too. Those with sensitive skin also do well to stay away from it. [su_note note_color="#ea929a"]Although unproven, sulfate is believed by some to be linked to cancer. There’s still a lot of research that needs to be done in this context but by and large, you want to avoid it too if you have dry scalp.[/su_note] Read Next: 10 Best Sulfate-Free Shampoo For Healthy Hair pH-balanced shampoo are important Optimal pH levels will leave scalp and hair healthy but unfortunately, people aren’t blessed with this. A too-alkaline scalp causes dryness, which means you need to look for shampoos with a lower pH such as 6 or 7. Check the labels of the products before purchasing them to see if they have the pH you need. This way, your scalp won’t be stripped of all its natural oils and you won’t have to suffer the headache of a dry scalp. Essential oils can help The best shampoos for dry scalp will include essential oils that balance oil production. There are several you want to look out for. Lavender: This universal favorite isn’t just beautifully fragrant but it’s moisturizing too. It cleanses the scalp without drying it out. Search for shampoos that include it or if you can’t quite find what you’re looking for, add a few drops of the oil to your shampoo. Lemongrass: Another balancing oil, lemongrass is ideal for dry scalp. The refreshing scent is  plus especially in the warmer months. Sandalwood: Sandalwood is just as good as lavender and lemongrass in balancing oil production. It’s also a very effective cleansing agent. Opt for more natural products Not all natural shampoos are gentle or good for dry scalp but they usually contain fewer synthetic ingredients that may be irritating such as sulfates and parabens. They also tend to contain natural oils like those we’ve mentioned. Do read the ingredients carefully to see what the formula is made of and try to choose more natural products. Helpful tips for dry scalp The key to managing dry scalp is to restore the natural oils and moisture. There are several ways to do this aside from using the right dry scalp shampoo. Take a look - Cut down on hair products: Hair mousse, gel et al may be necessary to keep hair looking fabulous but they can be irritating and cause scalp to dry out. Try to cut down on the number of items you use and tap into your creative side to come up with hair styles that don’t need so many products to hold them in place. Shampoo less often: Many people shampoo their hair too frequently in a bid to keep it looking clean and shiny. Yet, that’s probably the worst thing you could do if you have dry scalp. If you’re guilty of shampooing every other day, reduce it to 2 or 3 times a week at the most. Use only a small amount of shampoo with each wash. Take extra care in winter: The cold is not dry scalp’s best pal so you need to take even more care in winter. You may want to consider conditioning your scalp at this time if the dryness is extreme. Don’t be alarmed – scalp is skin and needs to be moisturized as well. Just make sure you use only a little product or dilute the conditioner. Remember to rinse your scalp and hair thoroughly after. Conclusion Dry scalp is an annoyance and as anyone suffering from it knows, it can seem notoriously tough to get rid of. Fortunately, it’s not all doom and gloom, as we’ve learnt, and there are great shampoos out there that can do the bulk of the work. Once you’ve found the product you need, follow it up with the tips we’ve outlined. You’ll soon be able to say goodbye to dryness and itchiness! Discover benefits of essential oils for headache relief, skin toning, and energy clearing
Essential oils can dial down stress, zap zits, and even help you power through an afternoon slump. That's if you're using the right blend at the right time. To help you get the most out of your essential oils and blend them like pros, we turned to Jennifer Rose Goldman, an Advanced Clinical Aromatherapist and founder of Essential Rose Life, and Nada Milosavljevic, MD, a faculty member at Harvard Medical School and founder of the Integrative Health Program at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Here, their 10 must-have essential oils, plus four recipes for blending them.
1. Lavender
If you're new to essential oils, put lavender on your list. It's a harmonizing and balancing oil because the scent mixes well with others, Goldman says.
It's also the most studied aroma, Milosavljevic says, with research suggesting that it can do everything from lower anxiety to improve sleep. When you take a deep inhalation, the scent engages your olfactory nerve, which is one of the most direct connections to your brain, Milosavljevic says. Lanvender, she says, can induce a sense of calm and lower stress. For this reason, it's great to drop some in your bubble bath (try 15 drops) or even a foot bath (8-10 drops will do). You could also put a few drops on a towelette or tissue and breathe them in.

2. Tea Tree
This essential oil is cleansing because it has antiviral, anti-fungal, and antiseptic properties, Milosavljevic says. Preliminary research has shown that it could be helpful for treating acne, nail fungus, and athlete's foot. In fact, one review found it to be just as effective at fighting acne-causing bacteria as the chemical benzoyl peroxide.
While tea tree oil is gentler on skin than chemicals, it can be drying, so it's best not to apply it directly to your face, Goldman says. But once you've got face cleanser in your hand, you could add in a drop of tea tree oil and then apply, Goldman suggests. Since tea tree oil has anti-inflammatory properties, it can also reduce redness and irritation. For added cleansing benefits, add one drop of lemon essential oil and one drop of grapefruit essential oil to the cleanser, Goldman suggests.
3. Rosemary
You may want to keep this essential oil on your desk along with lavender to combat stressful days or afternoon slumps. Clarifying and mentally stimulating, rosemary is great for boosting your memory and concentration, Goldman says. "The Greco-Romans wore rosemary crowns," she says, "because it was associated with higher levels of cognition."
Because rosemary is a stimulant for the brain, it can also help counteract fatigue, says Milosavljevic, who is also the creator of the Sage Tonic line of aromatherapy towelettes. Add a couple of drops of rosemary to a tissue or piece of gauze and inhale with deep breaths for a minute or so, she suggest. She blended her rosemary towelette with basil to help reduce fatigue and boost cognition.

4. Lemon
Lemon is a refreshing oil that has the potential to give us an energy boost. It's uplifting and joyful, Goldman says. Beyond being a mood-booster, research has shown lemon to have antiseptic, astringent, and detoxifying properties, which can help treat blemishes caused by oily skin. It also can brighten and rejuvenate dull skin. A diluted drop added to your face was can be cleansing, but don't apply it directly since it might dry out your skin, Goldman cautions. You could also add in a drop of tea tree oil to soothe irritated or red skin.
5. Peppermint
If you're feeling tired or lethargic or have a pesky headache, try massaging a peppermint essential oil blend into your temples, Goldman says. Just don't overdo it because you don't want the oil to get into your eyes. Combine the peppermint with a carrier oil, such as coconut, jojoba, avocado, olive, or grapeseed oil.
In general, a good ratio, recommended by Milosavljevic, is 12-15 drops of essential oil for every one ounce of carrier oil.
If you pair a couple of drops of peppermint with the lavender-oil blend, it can be extra soothing for headaches because lavender is a proven stress reliever, Goldman says. Peppermint paired with lemon may relieve headaches, while also providing an energizing pick-me-up, she explains.
6. Eucalyptus
Just think of how good it feels to open your lungs, deepen your breath and inhale the scent of eucalyptus permeating a steam room. To get the same benefit at home, Milosavljevic recommends adding a few drops of eucalyptus to a dollop of shower gel. Or, you could put a few drops in a wet washcloth that you set in a steamy shower. The antimicrobial properties in eucalyptus can be good for your respiratory tract if you feel a cold coming on, she explains. A small study also found that inhaling the aroma of eucalyptus can also reduce pain and blood pressure.
Eucalyptus offers a cooling sensation, Goldman says. It can have the same effect energetically, too, helping to relieve frustration. Along with lavender and rosemary, it may be a good one to keep nearby at work--simply add a couple of drops to a tissue and inhale.

7. Patchouli
We know, outside of yoga circles, this one sometimes gets a bad rap for being too potent. But a small amount works wonderfully as a cleanser because of its antimicrobial effects, which may help balance oil production no your skin and scalp, Goldman says. Try adding a few drops to your shampoo, along with a drop of tea tree oil, to cleanse your scalp.
While the research isn't there to back it up, some have claimed patchouli is a aphrodisiac. You can inhale it, rub it on pulse points or, place a patchouli towelette between your pillow and pillowcase.
8. Chamomile
Chamomile's superpower is that it's remarkably soothing, Goldman says. It's a strong essential oil, so one drop will go a long way, she cautions. For women who are on their menstrual cycle, it may help to mix a drop of chamomile with olive oil and massage it on your belly area. Research has also shown that simply taking a whiff of it can be calming and help bring on the ZZZs on restless nights.
9. Grapefruit
Bright, uplifting, and cleansing, grapefruit essential oil is bidding for a spot in your beauty cabinet. It can dry out a pimple quickly: Just apply a drop directly to the problem spot, Goldman suggests. Its scent is also uplifting and stimulating.
10. Sage
You may have used sage in a ritual called smudging when you moved into a new home or went through a breakup. Practiced in many indigenous cultures, it involves filling a home with smoke to clear energy in the space. In terms of essential oils, a little goes a long way, Goldman says: "It's very clarifying and can balance out your mood and energy." Like rosemary, sage can also help boost cognition. If you have oily hair, you may want to try a drop in your shampoo, she says.

To start putting these 10 powerful essential oils to good us, try these custom blends from Goldman for use in rollerballs, in beauty cleansers, and as sprays.

How To Create A First Aid Kit Using Essential Oils
Learn how to create an effective and 100% natural first aid kit using just essential oils!
You’ve probably heard the “buzz” about essential oils and how they can help your family with common concerns such as headaches, colds and flu, allergies, pain, and infection, which is why I’ve created an on-the-go first aid kit using a few key essential oils.
Choose a Carrier Oil
Before you get started selecting your essential oils, you’ll need to pick out a carrier oil to use with them. This oil will be the base you will use to dilute the other oils in your first aid kit. Choose from Jojoba Oil, Sweet Almond Oil or Fractionated Coconut Oil, these would work well.
Remember, you’ll need to select a carrier which stays liquid at room temperature just in case you don’t have time to warm or melt a semi-solid oil. Any of the oils I listed above will be perfect!
Lavender
Lavender is absolutely the most important oil to include in your essential oil first aid kit. In fact, if you could have only one essential oil in your kit, this would be the one to choose. Lavender has a very wide range of applications.
It is antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal. It is a natural pain-reliever and anti-itch remedy. Lavender can help to prevent scarring, encourage healing, reduce inflammation, reduce stress and ease anxiety. It may be used on insect bites, cold sores, rashes and blisters.
Headaches: Put a drop of diluted Lavender on your finger and apply to the temples and the nape of the neck.
Minor Burns: Blend Lavender and the juice of a fresh aloe leaf and apply. Aloe Vera gel may be used if no fresh aloe is available. Please note, aloe will be more effective at immediately easing the pain of a burn, but Lavender will promote faster healing with no or less scarring.
Mosquito Bites: Lavender diluted (in a carrier oil mentioned above), or blended with a bit of well diluted Peppermint essential oil to ease itching.
Sunburns: Add 5 drops of Lavender to 5 ml (one teaspoon) of your favorite carrier oil and gently apply to the burned area. A tepid bath, with cider vinegar and Lavender Essential Oil added will also promote healing and help “take the heat out.”
Stress, Tension, Too Much To Do: A few drops of Lavender in a bath eases tension. I like to just pull out my little bottle and inhale!
Insomnia: A drop of Lavender on a cotton ball or tissue tucked into your pillowcase, or a Lavender bath before retiring will help ease you (or your excited children) into a natural relaxing sleep. I like to rub some diluted lavender oil onto the bottoms of my feet or else the back of my neck right before bed.
Peppermint
This essential oil is effective for treating nausea and digestive issues, allergies, menstrual problems, reduces fever, increases alertness and focus, and increases oxygen absorption. It is great for headaches or any muscle aches or pains and is also a catalyst when mixed with other oils. Peppermint is anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, can be used for shock, colds, colic, and heartburn.
I always recommend diluting peppermint with a carrier oil as it’s a very strong oil!
Migraines: Many migraine sufferers report relief after rubbing properly diluted Peppermint essential oil on their forehead, the back of the neck, and the solar plexus.
Upset Stomachs: can often be calmed by either inhaling Peppermint straight from the bottle, or rubbing a drop or two on the abdomen. I take this whenever we travel and are eating out a lot!
Fatigue/Exhaustion: Peppermint is a stimulant and can aid with both physical and mental exhaustion. This is a great oil to carry in the car, both to keep the driver awake and aware and to ease any carsickness that might occur.
Congestion: If summer’s pollens cause sinus congestion, diluted Peppermint is a wonderful treatment for either stuffy noses or sinus headaches. Either inhale the diluted oil to help clear a stuffy nose, or blend with some diluted Lavender essential oil and gently rub into cheekbones and forehead to ease a sinus headache.
Sunburn and Fever: Cool the “heat” of a sunburn or fever by adding about eight drops of the diluted oil blend to a tepid bath. Peppermint will not help a sunburn heal more quickly, but will help the burning to “chill out.”
Poison Ivy and Other Itchies: Add a few drops of Peppermint essential oil to commercial calamine lotion to help ease the itch of poison ivy rashes. In fact, a tiny amount of Peppermint essential oil is a good addition to almost any “anti-itch” preparation.

Tea Tree/Melaleuca
Tea Tree oil can be used as a first aid ointment, useful for skin irritations, bug bites, athlete’s foot, eczema and psoriasis. It aids in immune function and supports against throat and respiratory pathogens, and helps with slivers in the skin.
Scrapes: After washing a scrape, you might consider a bit of diluted Tea Tree Essential Oil to help keep the abrasion germ free.
Puncture Wounds: Should never be treated with Lavender, since it can cause the surface to heal, rather than letting the wound heal from the inside to the surface. In this case, Tea Tree Essential Oil, diluted, is the perfect blend to apply.
Disinfecting: Any sort of skin irritation that shows signs of perhaps becoming infected, whether they are mosquito bites, cuts or scrapes will benefit from Tea Tree’s antimicrobial properties.
Facial Care: I religiously use tea tree oil in my skin care routine. If I ever have a blemish pop up, I immediately add a drop of tea tree oil to a cotton ball and dab on my blemish. I also use it in my homemade skin toner recipe before bed each night.
  OnGuard
OnGuard is one of my favourite doTERRA blends! Here are just some of it’s benefits:
Supports healthy immune and respiratory function
Protects against environmental threats
Supports the body’s natural antioxidant defenses
Promotes healthy circulation
Energizing and uplifting aroma
This essential oil blend, made of Wild Orange Peel, Clove Bud, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Leaf, and Rosemary Leaf Flower essential oils provides a natural and effective alternative for immune support. It protects against environmental and seasonal threats with essential oils known for their positive effects on the immune system. It can be taken internally on a daily basis to maintain healthy immune function and support healthy cardiovascular function. It can also be used on surfaces throughout the home as a non-toxic cleaner.
Immunity: Add two to three drops in a veggie capsule for an immune boost. I like to rub it on the bottoms of my feet and my children’s feet each morning to help keep our immune system functioning at it’s best.
Hand Cleanser: Combine a few drops of doTERRA On Guard with Fractionated Coconut Oil for a natural hand cleanser. Here’s my recipe for my homemade hand sanitizer. After we’ve been in a public place, we add a few drops to our hands and rub them together to help eliminate germs naturally.

Oregano
For Natural Immune System Support – oregano oil is effective in treating bacterial infections and yeast infections, relieves back and joint pain and inflammation, colds & flu, kills warts & skin tags and athlete’s foot, and is an effective cleanse for GI health.
It be consumed as an herb in culinary uses, a tincture, tea or essential oil.
The diluted oil can be consumed to speed recovery during illness.
Oregano Oil (diluted in coconut oil) can be used on skin infections to boost healing.
It can be mixed in to oil as part of an oil pulling routine.
Diluted oregano oil taken internally can help with allergies.
Oregano oil diluted in olive oil can be rubbed on sore muscles and joints for pain relief.
Dried oregano, in combination with other dried herbs like basil, rosemary and thyme, can create an effective facial steam for loosening congestion and calming coughing.
It can be diluted for effective use on athletes foot and fungal infections.
It can be helpful in redding the body of ringworm when used topically.
It can be effective in removing warts when used diluted on the skin.
Cold/Flu’s: Add a drop to a veggie capsule and repeat every 4 hours throughout the day until symptoms subside.
Warts: Mix 1 teaspoon of oregano oil with around 8 teaspoons of fractionated coconut oil. Apply the mixture around four to six times throughout the day. You can also add tape over the wart to minimize the ability for the growth to receive proper oxygen. This can help to speed up the process. After about a week of use with organic oregano oil, you should notice a difference in the size of the wart.
Alleriges: Add a few drops of oregano oil to a bowl of boiling water, place a towel over your head and breathe in the strong vapors for 5-10 minutes. The hot steam helps to loosen mucus, open up the airways, and the anti-inflammatory properties of the oil help to soothe and relieve allergy symptoms.
Lemon
Lemon oil is known for its cleansing ability. Add a few drops to your water to purify it. It is also great for intestinal parasites, dissolves petrochemicals from your body, effective for colds & flu, helps your digestive system and liver work, helps reduce stress and fatigue, calm upset stomachs, is effective for gout, sore throat, and is a disinfectant and an antiseptic.
Sore Throat: Simply add 1-2 drops of lemon oil to warm water or tea. You can also inhale lemon oil directly from the bottle, or put 5-10 drops in a diffuser at home.
Cough: A mixture of lemon and eucalyptus essential oils relieves a cough effectively. Mix three tablespoonfuls of honey with 2 drops of lemon and 2 drops of eucalyptus essential oils. Add one teaspoon of this mixture to warm water in a glass and take slowly.
Naesea & Vomitting during pregnancy: Put a couple of drops on a small gauze or tissue square and lay it by your face or on your chest. Just sniffing the oil will calm the nausea or prevent it.
Balance
Balance blend promotes tranquility while bringing harmony to the mind and body, and balance to the emotions. This is a blend I use daily on the bottoms of my feet to ground my emotions and reduce anxiety.
Promotes a whole-body sense of relaxation
May help ease anxious feelings
