#Roofing Panels Demand

"This year the world will make something like 70bn of these solar cells, the vast majority of them in China, and sandwich them between sheets of glass to make what the industry calls modules but most other people call panels: 60 to 72 cells at a time, typically, for most of the modules which end up on residential roofs, more for those destined for commercial plant. Those panels will provide power to family homes, to local electricity collectives, to specific industrial installations and to large electric grids; they will sit unnoticed on roofs, charmingly outside rural schools, controversially across pristine deserts, prosaically on the balconies of blocks of flats and in almost every other setting imaginable.
Once in place they will sit there for decades, making no noise, emitting no fumes, using no resources, costing almost nothing and generating power. It is the least obtrusive revolution imaginable. But it is a revolution nonetheless.
Over the course of 2023 the world’s solar cells, their panels currently covering less than 10,000 square kilometres, produced about 1,600 terawatt-hours of energy (a terawatt, or 1tw, is a trillion watts). That represented about 6% of the electricity generated world wide, and just over 1% of the world’s primary-energy use. That last figure sounds fairly marginal, though rather less so when you consider that the fossil fuels which provide most of the world’s primary energy are much less efficient. More than half the primary energy in coal and oil ends up as waste heat, rather than electricity or forward motion.
What makes solar energy revolutionary is the rate of growth which brought it to this just-beyond-the-marginal state. Michael Liebreich, a veteran analyst of clean-energy technology and economics, puts it this way:
In 2004, it took the world a whole year to install a gigawatt of solar-power capacity... In 2010, it took a month In 2016, a week. In 2023 there were single days which saw a gigawatt of installation worldwide. Over the course of 2024 analysts at BloombergNEF, a data outfit, expect to see 520-655gw of capacity installed: that’s up to two 2004s a day...
And it shows no signs of stopping, or even slowing down. Buying and installing solar panels is currently the largest single category of investment in electricity generation, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA), an intergovernmental think-tank: it expects $500bn this year, not far short of the sum being put into upstream oil and gas. Installed capacity is doubling every three years. According to the International Solar Energy Society:
Solar power is on track to generate more electricity than all the world’s nuclear power plants in 2026 Than its wind turbines in 2027 Tthan its dams in 2028 Its gas-fired power plants in 2030 And its coal-fired ones in 2032.
In an IEA scenario which provides net-zero carbon-dioxide emissions by the middle of the century, solar energy becomes humankind’s largest source of primary energy—not just electricity—by the 2040s...
Expecting exponentials to carry on is rarely a basis for sober forecasting. At some point either demand or supply faces an unavoidable constraint; a graph which was going up exponentially starts to take on the form of an elongated S. And there is a wide variety of plausible stories about possible constraints...
All real issues. But the past 20 years of solar growth have seen naive extrapolations trounce forecasting soberly informed by such concerns again and again. In 2009, when installed solar capacity worldwide was 23gw, the energy experts at the IEA predicted that in the 20 years to 2030 it would increase to 244gw. It hit that milestone in 2016, when only six of the 20 years had passed. According to Nat Bullard, an energy analyst, over most of the 2010s actual solar installations typically beat the IEA’s five-year forecasts by 235% (see chart). The people who have come closest to predicting what has actually happened have been environmentalists poo-pooed for zealotry and economic illiteracy, such as those at Greenpeace who, also in 2009, predicted 921gw of solar capacity by 2030. Yet even that was an underestimate. The world’s solar capacity hit 1,419gw last year.
-via The Economist, June 20, 2024
--
Note: That graph. Is fucking ridiculous(ly hopeful).
For perspective: the graph shows that in 2023, there were about 350 GW of solar installed. The 5-year prediction from 2023 said that we'd end up around 450 GW by 2030.
We hit over 600 GW in the first half of 2024 alone.
This is what's called an exponential curve. It's a curve that keeps going up at a rate that gets higher and higher with each year.
This, I firmly believe, is a huge part of what is going to let us save the world.

Things You Might Not Know About the 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
The **1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am** holds a special place in automotive history, renowned for its bold styling, powerful performance, and cultural significance. Here are some fascinating facts you might not know about this iconic muscle car:
1. **"Smokey and the Bandit" Fame:
The 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am gained widespread popularity thanks to its starring role in the classic movie *Smokey and the Bandit*. Burt Reynolds’ character drove a black-and-gold Trans Am, turning it into an instant pop culture icon.
2. **W72 Performance Package:
The W72 performance package, offered in the 1978 model, significantly enhanced the engine's performance. With a 400 cubic-inch V8 engine, it delivered around 220 horsepower, which was a respectable number for the late 1970s when emissions regulations were restricting power outputs.
3. **Special Edition Models:
Pontiac released several special editions of the 1978 Trans Am, including the Gold Special Edition and the famous Black Special Edition, often referred to as the "Bandit Edition." These models featured gold accents, such as the iconic "screaming chicken" decal on the hood and gold alloy wheels.
4. **Improved Handling:
While muscle cars are known for their straight-line speed, the 1978 Firebird Trans Am was notable for its handling. Pontiac engineers upgraded the suspension and steering, making the Trans Am one of the best-handling American cars of its time.
5. **Optional T-Tops:
Buyers of the 1978 Trans Am could opt for T-top removable roof panels, which became a favorite among enthusiasts. These panels gave the car an open-air feel without compromising the structural integrity of the body.
6. **Last Year for the 400 V8:
The 1978 model year marked the last time Pontiac offered the 400 cubic-inch V8 engine in the Trans Am. This engine was one of the final remnants of the muscle car era, and its discontinuation was a sign of the changing times in the automotive world.
7. **Appearance Package Overhaul:
In 1978, Pontiac updated the Firebird's appearance, giving it a new front end with a split grille and updated rear-end styling. This refresh helped keep the Trans Am competitive in the rapidly changing car market of the late '70s.
8. **Turbo Hood Scoop:
The Trans Am featured a functional "shaker" hood scoop, which helped channel cool air into the engine, boosting performance. The hood scoop was not just for show—it played a real role in enhancing the car's capabilities.
9. **High Sales Numbers:
Despite rising fuel costs and growing emissions regulations, the 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was a commercial success. Pontiac sold over 93,000 units of the Trans Am that year, proving that demand for muscle cars still existed, even in a more restrictive era.
10. **Enduring Legacy:
The 1978 Trans Am continues to be a favorite among collectors and car enthusiasts. Its unique combination of performance, style, and cultural impact ensures that it remains one of the most beloved muscle cars from the golden age of American automotive design.
These little-known facts highlight the lasting appeal of the **1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am**, a car that has transcended its era to become a symbol of American automotive culture.

so, home spawn points!
- are they considered a form of home security system, or some kind of safety feature like having a fire extinguisher around (or maybe both)? are they something that comes standard with inkfish homes, or is it an income-related thing where not everyone can afford one?
- do they have any additional purposes like maybe transportation (like can they be hooked up to other spawn points to quickly teleport an inkfish home)?
- how did the salmonids know where it was, and that they needed to disconnect it? makes me think they've been watching cress for quite some time...
[DISCLAIMER: the following post is full of headcanon, extrapolated from what canon information there is or just What I Think Makes Sense] i have SOOO many thoughts about spawn points i'll try and not get side tracked and answer the questions LOL Communal spawn points are located on rooftops of residential buildings, where the building owner pays to maintain it and it's expected that only residents of that building use it, and in public places around the city, funded by the city. The nearest spawn point to Cress falls under that first category.
I last minute threw some spawn points of the rooftops of some nearby buildings in the last panel. So to answer the last question, the Salmonids knew that the spawn point was on the roof, because that's where it always is for an apartment building. This comic takes place some time before S3 era, so the one-man flying spawn points aren't in common use yet. I'd imagine hi-tech communal spawns are less common in less affluent areas and areas with low populations of inkfish vs other species, and extremely rare in the octarian domes due to electricity demands. I'd think there'd be more low-tech, slower ways to respawn, but the modern style of machinery is truly the best way to do it. the spawn points have two purposes: -to revive an inkfish in case of an accident at home/public space -navigation
The spawn points themselves aren't teleporters, but rather the kettles are, kind of- the way i think that works is that the kettles turn the inkling's genetic info and soul into a gaseous form, and the spawn point functions as a receiver and can rebuild the body from there- anyway. The main way inkfish get around is by super jumping, and to super jump to a far away location, you need an electromagnetic signal to hone in on, like radio waves from a radio tower, a satellite dish, or a spawn point. this signal emitted from the spawn points helps not only with guidance for super jumping, but it also helps guide the soul of a downed inkfish to it. The signals of each of these spawn points Feel different (maybe depending on what ink color it's loaded with, or particular to the machine itself, or both), and it'd be much much easier to hone in on the signal of a far away spawn point you're used to and have physically been to before than one you haven't. Cell phones are also built to pick up these signals from spawn points, kind of like wifi networks. Also like wifi networks, you can register a spawn point as a "home" spawn point, and your phone can notify you if it suddenly goes out or if it's been reloaded with a different color or something.
fortunately for cress, he forgot to turn on "do not disturb" on the spawn point notifs.

The other day I saw that panel again about Toji sleeping around because he needs a roof over his head somehow, and I'm just gonna put this out there, that I'd easily be one of those delusional women who would try to make him fall in love with me. Hell, I'd even try to be his sugar momma/babe with my minimum wage job, lmao
this made me scream lol, sorry but same. i think i could make him change and you know what...in my little head i think it is possible.
i think he would be reluctant at first, like a stray cat you have to tame. one that pulls back when you try to pet him but slowly gives in as you show him that you are not going to hurt him.
the first time he sleeps over he makes it clear that it doesn't mean anything, he has a pout and a wrinkled nose, dirty shirt from the drizzle that fell earlier and a band aid you placed on his cheek. even though toji's rules are clear, sex only, you wake up in the middle of the night with his arms wrapped around you, tied around your waist like a knot that you can't get rid of.
he smells like home, like you. like the detergent you used to wash his clothes, like the shampoo he took without your permission to wash his hair and you can't help but cling to him more in search of that warmth.
the next week he gets trapped in your house when he is putting on his tight shirt and heading out. torrential rains pelted the city, preventing him from seeing the road, so you forced him to watch your favorite show on the couch with treats you had at home and a warm blanket over his legs.
"we're not a couple," the semi-domesticated cat reminds you with a growl.
two months later and toji doesn't want to get out of your bed after you have sex, hugs you, snuggles you and refuses to let you out of his grip when you demand that you have to go to work. toji stays in the mornings after breakfast and accepts when you invite him to lunch on your off time.
"we're not a couple," he reminds you as you put the face mask on him and you can't help but laugh. you have his shirt on and he's in your bathroom half naked with one of your headbands holding his hair back to let you see his face better.
you help him shave, he rewards you by massaging your back, your feet, fucking you slow and soft in prone bone. toji claims he's not your boyfriend, but slowly the line becomes blurred the day he arrives with a box in his hands with his belongings and doesn't leave again the next day… or the other.
#I would be his sugar mommy 100%#I think he can be a very tame cat if he stops pretending that he really doesn't love vanilla style#he's just afraid to fall in love again; believe me it's canon#gege told me so#plus be his sugar mommy and he pays by being a good house husband#thank you for filling my head with this scenario#always so brilliant#asks#lovers ₊˚ᰔ#wr#toji x reader#toji fluff#wr.toji

saw a theory saying the phantom was just curious and I agree, so here’s my two cents.
The phantom was in the window before the car even pulled up the building. which means if it had any intentions on harming ash or her parents it had sooo much time to do so and ash’s parents would’ve been fully distracted. but it didn’t. it didn’t even get close enough for them to notice it until after ash was born.

It gently reaches its hand out to ash. to do what? Idk. But in the past it onlt grabbed her. At the time, it makes sense that we (as well as the characters) thought it was to harm ash, but idk if that’s the case anymore. It didn’t try slashing her or exhibit any agressive behavior. It simple just wanted to touch her

Both in the past and present (savanna trip) the phantom smiles at ashlyn from afar. it never takes action until AFTER it’s presence is acknowledged by someone. It never tries to chase her, attack her, or outwardly harm her in any way. It kinda just exists near her and then attempts to reach out to her.

The only time either ash or her dad were harmed by the phantom in the real world is which they moved on impulse. the phantom slashed Ashlyn’s dad while trying to move away after being stabbed, and ash got scratched after snatching her arm away. when u rlly think about it, the phantom let ashlyn go the first time. we already know it’s wayyyy stronger than ashlyn physically (roof scene) and a simple yank of the arm wouldn’t be enough to get out of its grasp. so it had to have let her go / not been holding on tight, both of which indicate it didn’t have negative intentions

this panel often gets overlooked, but ashlyn states “it usually stops by now” meaning phantoms have been following her all her life. although she’s creeped out by the phantom, her ability to keep calm implies she’s seen the phantoms before. if that’s the case, why didn’t they attack her any of those times? If they are trying to kill her, why are they waiting to do it?

this only applies to the real world though. in the phantom dimension, it’s 50/50.

the first ever phantom we see (ep 1) is agressive right off the bat. even after the kids disappeared, it stayed around and it’s agressive behavior continued when they came back. we didn’t she them attempt to attack it first, as it was already chasing them, so I believe it was just agressive to begin with. It tries to swipe at them before they disappeared and attempted to slash ashlyn when it found her under the seats.

but the phantom that dragged ashlyn to the roof only tried to attack her when she stabbed it. I was looking back at the scene, and it smashing her head against the roof was an accident. It only pins her to the ground because she puts up a struggle. even though it had her pinned down, it didn’t raise its hand at her until she stabbed it. Also this phantom was the first to listen to her when she made a demand. It also immediately calmed down.
I talked about that scene in another post, so I won’t just repeat everything I said. but point is, I don’t think the phantoms want to harm ashlyn. but they want something from her instead. they can sense smth is different about her, and are trying to figure it out. in the first couple of chapters the phantoms personally target ashlyn. When Logan got scratched it’s because him and Aiden intervened with its plan. it was only trying to get to ashlyn. which is a lil suspicious. but as the other kids turn into phantoms, the phantoms are more aware of their existences and start to target them to (the one that rushed Tyler on the tree). but who rlly knows right?

Chapter 2 of Triptych Soul is now up! Complete with gorgeous art from @amarilke!
Chapter two: The Stranger in the Mirror
His body felt weak. He supposed that was to be expected, given everything that had happened since… His thoughts trailed off, and he buried his face into his hands in frustration. What exactly had happened? His memories were hazy at best. He remembered a voice had called after him, shouting, barking, demanding his obedience. A voice which, he only now realized, must have belonged to Monarch. A dull, clanging sound suddenly echoed across the rooftops, causing his ears to prick up to attention, followed by the unmistakable sound of footsteps across roof tiles. Ladybug! He eagerly craned his neck toward the source of the sound, but quickly realized that the clattering, noisy steps were far too heavy to be the gentle footsteps of his Lady. Who else would be trudging across rooftops at this hour? He carefully peered between the chimneys to catch a glimpse of the intruder, and what he witnessed turned the blood in his veins to ice.
Triptych: - A picture, painting, or carving presented in three panels, typically hinged together side by side. - A set of three parts or sections of associated artistic, literary, or musical works intended to be appreciated together. - A mirror with three hinged panels, which can be adjusted to show three separate reflections of a single subject from different angles.

Iron sheet, it shows multiple perspectives of Taiwanese society, a new feature to foreign travelers, but an unpleasant mark to local citizens. From metal houses in counties, rooftop add-on in cities, rolling steel doors on pedestrian arcades, to balcony constructions, “iron sheets” are familiar to us. Its drainage function made its appearances; meeting the demands this fast leads to huge expansion into our daily, being a part of culture.
盛行因素/Popular Reason
Taiwan is on the common border of tropical and subtropical region, with the long, hot, and rainy summer; cold air is balanced by the surrounding sea, by comparison, winter is warmer then neighboring countries. The characteristic of iron sheets is the reflection of Taiwan’s climatic condition. 結構疏水/Drainability 傳統多採木構與磚石建築,直至民國六、七十年代, 鋼筋混泥土技術盛行,平屋頂的特性無法有效排水。 Traditionally, woods and bricks are often being used on constructing, not until 60’s and 70’s did the skills of reinforced concrete become very common, but flat roofs are not able to drain the water effectively. 工法容易/Simple techniques 鐵皮局部修補容易;建築時間快速、組裝、生產便利, 儼然成為現代草根性的庶民建築風貌。 Iron sheets are easily to fix, quick constructing time, easy to build and produce, becamethe modern common construction style. 時代流行/Popular by times 二戰後施工技術不佳及傳統建築所需工匠難尋, 以致簡便的鐵皮屋暢行崛起, 民間順應以頂樓加蓋的形式增設空間。 After World War II, by the poor techniques and the difficulties of finding traditional architects, simple metal houses had risen suddenly, people used the form of “rooftop add-on” to expand their space.
設計元素/Design Elements
在設計上取用鐵皮屋的三個元素為特點─鋼骨結構、鐵皮浪板和鐵皮釘. 鋼骨結構簡化為方管用於大型家具;而花瓶則以圓管表現小件作品的細緻.
The 3 elements which based on metal sheet houses are steel structure, corrugated sheets and iron nails. Steel structure will be simplify as square tubes use in large-scale furniture; vases will be perform as circular pipes to show the refinement of small-scale works.
浪板形狀的選擇/Shape selection of Corrugated Sheets
Use the most common “circular corrugated sheet” in the culture of metal sheets. With respect to the painted corrugated sheet that needed engineering production, using the so called “lead plate” which is the circular corrugated sheet as the main develop, it can be bought in any building materials store or hardware store, it is commonly be used in repairing the walls, parts of the roofs or building simple houses or barns. It can be used in different ways and derive to varieties of things, including the polycarbonate sheet used on the roof and lighting panels.
Corrugated sheets are mostly used as structural and draining of buildings. We are thinking what will happen if the same mold using are minified not as a material anymore. We found out that the notch of the metal sheet can be used for putting things, based on this, if we enlarge it can become a plate; when bending it into “U” shape, the mold beneath it can stand water then became a vase.
層次/Multi-level
Because of the materials, when the corrugated sheets were built, the sheets will overlap with each other. On the screen we use two different spaces of corrugated sheets, to make their distance further and become overlapped. The sheets in the front also showed the characteristic of the material’s length, split into two.
半圓拱屋頂/Arched roof
Half Arched Roof→Oval Chair is also common in the buildings of corrugated sheets, compared to a flat top roof, it can transfer the loaded gravity and supported larger forces; the arc steel which is used in corrugated roof, it actually became a steadier and more beautiful mechanics.

You’re at a Smosh meet and greet at a con and when you and Angela lock eyes there’s just something™️ there. Later you’re on the con floor and you’re not really paying attention to where you’re walking, too busy looking at all the cool merch in the booths. You walk right into Angela. You basically become a stuttering mess. She flirts and you walk away with her number (ooorrrrr you walk with her to the nearest bathroom 😉)
Vidcon was something you both loved
Angela came into the living room carrying Spork wearing her Vidcon hoodie. You paused the show and looked at her in the kitchen cooing at Spork. “I like your hoodie.” She looked at you, “Hm I wonder why?”
Some people from Smosh were over for a game night and Angela insisted on bringing Spork to play. Courtney put her phone down, "Wait is Y/n the girl from vidcon you wouldn't shut up about all week?" Angela scoffed, "Why would you expose me like that!" Shayne laughed loudly. Keith demanded, "Okay now I need to hear this story."
------
“Have a good day!” You told the guy who just bought a t-shirt from you at Vidcon. The floor was packed with people from different fandoms trying to get to their creators before they sold out of what they wanted. A couple people who didn’t know of your work stopped by, the sticker table catching their attention. You weren’t paying any mind to it until you heard a laugh that was too familiar to you. You turned around to see Angela and a few of the others from Smosh at the table next to yours. The panic set in when she looked at you and you made eye contact. Her face lit up, “Oh my god! Y/n! I love your work!” Your face started burning, you knew you got some traction but Smosh knowing you existed? You were a fangirl at heart. “Hi! I also love your work. Huge Smosh fan.” She approached your table and set her full attention on you. Angela was transfixed by your features. The way your cheeks moved when you smile, how your eyes lit up when you talked about your upcoming projects.
The 10 minute conversation felt like 10 seconds. Amanda walked over and grabbed her arm, “Hate to interrupt but we have a panel to get to.” Angela frowned, “Can I get your number or something so we can talk again this week?” Your heart stopped and you had to take a calming breath, “Of course, just text me!” She left you with the promise of getting drinks one night. The next night, your sitting at the hotel bar waiting for your friends to come down to walk to the party. Your phone buzzed on the bar and you set your glass down.
Angela
Going to the party?
Your cheeks lit up bright red. You picked up your phone and shot her back a text,
Yeah! I’m waiting for some friends to walk over together, be there soon
Angela
See you then pretty girl
Time frozen, and before you could fully process it your friends came around the corner. You were pulled from your seat and dragged out the door, still speechless. It was a bold move from her end. Unless she saw right through you, she had no way of knowing what your feelings or intentions were. You mind raced as the elevator doors to the roof opened and flashing lights caught your attention. After a shot of liquid courage and a song belted with your friends, you opened your phone,
Hey, I’m here. Are you here yet?
Angela
One sec, I think I see you, don’t move
You looked around hoping to find her too. Faces you recognized, random influencer, DJ, Chanse, Angela, your friends, wait. You snapped your head back around to see her waving at you, dodging and weaving through the crowd. She was more dressed up than usual, but still in her dirty white shoes. When she reached you her mouth fell open, “You look amazing.” You smiled and thanked her, “You also look fantastic.” You didn’t hesitate to check her out, but regretted it when you met her eyes, a knowing look on her face. “Do you want another drink?” You simply nodded and grabbed her arm, making her slightly chuckle.
A few more drinks in and the drinks have been long forgotten as you and Angela sat in a corner of the room on a couch, side by side, but face to face. Your legs thrown over hers. The corner was quiet enough to hear each other without others hearing. Angela swirled her glass of a watered-down vodka tonic, her attention fully on you, once again astonished at you. Angela could barely feel her legs but she wouldn’t dare say a word. “Actually moved to L.A. alone and just figured it out as I went. I had a plan but no real way to make it happen. I met a guy at a coffee shop because I complimented his mug and he gave me my first permanent job here.” Angela was awestruck, “That’s fucking awesome. That’s like the most Indie movie moment I have ever heard.” She put her hand on your knee, squeezing it. A jolt ran through you. Angela noticed how your breathing changed and you couldn’t look at her. “What’s so interesting over there beautiful?” She was laying it on THICK and you loved every second of it.
“I really think that smaller theatre production companies make some of the best work and it rarely gets any recognition purely because of the lack of A-list cast members-“ “Hey Ang!” Chanse yelled as he jogged/drunkenly stumbled over, “We’re all heading out and you know the rules.” Angela sighed, “Come together, leave together.” She looked at you, a genuine pout on her face. “You’re so precious.” It came out so smooth and warm, you couldn’t believe it left YOUR mouth. Angela smiled and looked down at her lap. You put your hand on hers, “Go, I would do the same. I’ll text you tomorrow?” She nodded, “Let me know when you get back?” Your turn to nod. She lifted your hands pressing a gentle kiss to your knuckles. You moved your legs as Chanse dramatically gagged. “You fucker,” Angela stood from the couch and smacked his arm, “I’ll see you Y/n.” You waved and watched them as they danced over to the rest of the group and Courtney hugged Angela.
You then stood looking for your own friends only to never find them. You checked their location to see them at the hotel, leaving you to walk back alone. You sighed and started back. You turned the corner into the hotel lobby and shivered from the AC. The lobby was still bustling with people drinking, playing games, filming, and getting extra pillows. As the elevator doors closed, you thanked the universe for the silence.
------
"And that's when I found her in the elevator, by herself, tipsy. I was absolutely gut-wrenched that they left her by herself four blocks from the hotel." Angela squeezed your hand. "I remember rambling about how much I wish I had just asked her to walk with us." Courtney immediately sat up, "That is the best YouTube love story I have ever heard." Amanda raised her hand, "Yeah I agree. That was straight romcom." Courtney hugged Amanda and they dramatically cried. You chuckled at them. "No that's just fanfiction." Spencer chimed in, "I would know, I did the research for fanfic theatre." The group chuckled and Angela looked at you. 3 months later and she can’t focus when she looks at you.

closed starter: @solidgrovnd location: the ranch helltown event #1
The morning had moved Jude fast. Awoken before first light, dawn shrouded by snowfall—light at first it had rapidly become fierce. The wind's violent assault against the ranch had made her movements rushed and graceless. Duty. It had to be demanding force to drag her away from the bed. The bed where Shaw slept twisted in her sheets. Again. She knew better than to count days or remain where something whole threatened to spill out of her. She had kissed their temple, free from the eyes of ruin. If she stayed for a moment more, the world would long be left to collapse before she had noticed anything else at all. No solace was ever kept.
A loose wood panel ripped from its place had been sharp against Jude’s cheekbone, just a surface wound—not the deep cut of the wind that howled past. The animals had been ushered into the barn without much convincing, huddled together purposefully now. They pulled survival from each other easily. Less complicated than the humans of their shared hell, with no teeth bared or bloodshed—safe together. She could only make do with tarpaulin and hay, quiet the whistle of the wind. The barn seemed to hold strong against the onslaught. The newer wood enforcements steadfast against the blizzard although something like a callous joke now. Was she always just awaiting tragedy?
The barn was closed tight now, at least, not swaying like the trees. The earth was white and stark, almost blinding. In it, a single patch of colour. A flower. It stuck out defiant in the snow, it wouldn’t survive. It should have already perished. Jude’s brow knitted together, she didn't look away. The wind persisted, the bloom swayed—a violent movement. It was ritualistic. A half-remembered conversation, then. Lectures from a nun. A memory dull in the howl of the wind. Scoffed at by the time by a teenager tall and bruised but words still faithfully retained. Everything had been kept, just hidden away. A weight dragged behind her.
Scorn for the world won’t protect your heart, child.
Jude plucked the flower from the small gap in the earth. For Shaw, she thought but she didn’t know why. She could no longer hear the world. There was only the wind. It screeched now, then, in a moment of grievous clarity: a plunge felt in the gut. The pine tree by the cabin bent, then broke—landed on the roof with a putrid crack. Her tongue turned metallic in her mouth, there was only a single thought left. Chant or prayer: Shaw.
The bedroom door was thrust open into nothingness, floorboards and steps barely touched on the way. It was scarcely a room now, the sky had leaked in entirely. The tree was all she could see, yet she pushed forward. “Shaw?” A noise desperate and bare in the throat, a sound not known for years—decades. She had stopped begging when God had not listened. Only the wind answered. Silently, her hand unclenched to search, to unearth and find, a flower dropped to the floor—a thought forgotten.
“Shaw, please.”
For once, God would hear her.

Can Residential Metal Roofing Be Used for Barns?
Are you considering a new roof for your barn and wondering if residential metal roofing could be a good fit? You're not alone. Many people explore options that blend durability with aesthetics, and residential metal roofing is often at the top of that list. In this article, we’ll dive into whether this roofing type can effectively serve your barn's needs, ensuring you make an informed decision for your home improvement project.
What is Residential Metal Roofing?
Before we discuss its suitability for barns, let’s first define residential metal roofing. This roofing material, typically made from aluminum, steel, or copper, is designed primarily for houses. It's popular due to its longevity, weather resistance, and relatively low maintenance requirements. Often available in various styles and colors, residential metal roofing can enhance the visual appeal of your home.
Advantages of Residential Metal Roofing
Durability and Longevity
One of the most significant benefits of residential metal roofing is its impressive durability. With lifespans often exceeding 50 years, metal roofing materials can withstand harsh weather conditions better than traditional shingles. This durability is especially advantageous for barns, which must protect livestock and equipment from the elements.
Low Maintenance
Residential metal roofing requires less upkeep than other materials. While it’s advisable to perform regular checks for loose panels or rust, the overall maintenance demands are significantly lower. Barn owners will appreciate this lightweight approach to upkeep, which allows them to free up more time for other responsibilities.
Energy Efficiency
Another highlight of residential metal roofing is its energy efficiency. By reflecting solar radiant heat, metal roofs can help decrease cooling costs during the hot summer. Many people overlook this energy-saving feature when selecting materials for agricultural structures.
Can Residential Metal Roofing Be Used for Barns?
Now that we understand residential metal roofing and its advantages let’s explore its applications in barn construction. The short answer is yes, residential metal roofing can be used for barns. However, several considerations must be made.
Structural Integrity
First and foremost, the barn's structural integrity plays a vital role. Ensure that the framework can support the weight of metal roofing, especially if it was initially designed for lighter materials like shingles. A professional assessment can help determine any reinforcements needed.
Design Compatibility
Consider your barn's design and functionality. Residential metal roofing is available in various profiles and finishes, so you can find something that matches your barn's aesthetic. Whether you prefer a more modern look or a classic farmhouse style, options are available.
Local Building Codes
Before making any decisions, it’s always wise to check local building codes and regulations concerning roofing materials for agricultural structures. Some areas may have specific requirements that could affect your choice.
Exploring Other Metal Roofing Options
If residential metal roofing seems less than ideal for your barn, there are a variety of other metal roofing options worth considering:
Agricultural Metal Roofing
This type of metal roofing is designed specifically for agricultural applications. It's often made of more robust materials and techniques suited to the stress and wear seen in barns, making it a reliable alternative.
Commercial Metal Roofing
Another option is commercial-grade roofing, which may offer enhanced durability and performance at a different price point. While it’s typically used in large buildings and industrial settings, some may find it suits their barn needs perfectly.
Cost Considerations
When choosing residential metal roofing, it's essential to understand the associated costs. Metal roofing tends to have a higher upfront cost than traditional shingles, but its longevity and energy efficiency can save homeowners money in the long run.
Budgeting for Installation
Be prepared for installation costs as well. Engaging a professional is highly recommended when dealing with roofing projects. While DIY might be an option for some people, the expertise and safety factors involved in professional installation often justify the expense.
Enhance Your Barn with Durable Roofing Solutions
To summarize, residential metal roofing can be a suitable and practical option for barns. Its durability, low maintenance, and energy efficiency make it an appealing choice for many people. However, before proceeding, it's crucial to consider structural integrity, design compatibility, local regulations, and budgets.

a Delhi ice cream truck ‘Mahalakshmi’ has equipped its roof with solar panels to maintain the frozen treats’ freshness.
Traditionally, ice cream vendors used to rely on energy-intensive Glycol freezers. The Glycol freezer is not only heavy but also demands a comparatively large amount of power. This is when solar panels have to come to the rescue for these vendors. This sustainable technology is a cooling solution during the sweltering summer months that helps in keeping the ice creams solid.

“i should still hate you. why can’t I hate you?” for hinny as a prompt please?? :)))
Just angst this time. 😇 Read here or below.
The Coop
Mum is not well enough to assign chores, so Ginny selects some on her own.
She must stay busy, mindless, if not she will go mad.
The first day back at The Burrow, Ginny has to accustom herself to bare walls, an empty living room, the smell of something burnt lingering in the air. She opens the windows wide, makes up the new beds, avoids Fred and George’s old room like the plague. Fleur takes charge of the visitors and the hoards of prepared meals they bring along, and they eat dinner on uncomfortable, conjured furniture, no happiness in magic anymore, no satisfaction of a cushioned seat.
On the second day back, Bill brings home a second-hand dining table with matching chairs, and he sands it all down with a wave of his wand, erasing scrapes marks and mending water rings with ease. Ginny occupies her spare time with staining it all by hand. The mechanical movements thankfully blur her brain, blur time, and when she’s finished, there's dinner, Dreamless Sleep Draught, and bed again.
Three days back now, and she keeps her ears pricked for a voice she longs to hear. After her heart has risen with anticipation and fallen from disappointment a good dozen times, she steers clear of the fireside and locks herself in her room.
It is on the seventh day that she finds Mum sitting at the dining table laden heavily with breakfast dishes. The dirty clothes Ginny had bunched up and left in baskets by the scullery last night are empty, the sound of the washing cauldrons is something of a dull roar in the room.
“It’s six in the morning,” is Ginny’s greeting.
Mum smiles over at her, but it doesn’t reach her eyes. “And you’re dressed for the day.”
“I was going to start breakfast. And laundry.”
What will I do now?
The thought of Death pounds away at her head almost immediately, and perhaps Mum sees the flicker of panic in her eyes…
“Your father is purchasing chickens today.”
Death retreats, but only just, a lingering presence she is all too familiar with.
“Chickens?” she asks dumbly.
Mum nods, offers, “You could muck out the coop.”
That would take hours without a wand.
It was perfect.
After helping herself to a stack of toast and bacon, Ginny heads outside in Percy’s old jean shorts, Ron’s ratty Martin Miggs shirt, and her filthiest pair of trainers. Sweat immediately soaks through her bra upon beginning the hard, disgusting work, yet she’s practically gleeful as she rakes out old hay and droppings, scrubs the little platform down with a brush and rag so thoroughly that it looks virtually unused. And there are still weeds to pull! Grass to trim! Her head is blissfully empty, thank god.
It is after she surveys her work, sees a loose board near the roof of the coop, and climbs in to fix it that it happens: a sudden crack of apparition, close enough to be in the wards. Ginny starts, banging her head on the overhead rafters, and peeks out through the unfastened bit of paneling. With a sharp breath, she pulls away, heart hammering in her chest.
Harry’s here.
She is debating on whether or not to hide in the enclosure until he leaves, escape in favor of another hiding spot, or march into the house and demand to know where he’s been, when she notices movement from her spyhole and sees him again, striding out of The Burrow almost as soon as he’d entered, peering over at the coop quizzically.
Her mother has divulged her location. Bugger it all.
“Ginny?” he calls when he’s only feet away. “Are you… er, are you in there?”
She rubs at her sore head with the heel of her hand and looks down at herself miserably. There was nothing for it.
Grudgingly, she responds, “Yeah. I’ll be right out.”
Wiping the perspiration from her face with the collar of her shirt and wringing her grubby fingers in its hem, Ginny tightens the extra fabric in a little knot at her waist and takes another breath of stale air. She ducks awkwardly out of the hutch and hops down to face him.
She shields her eyes from the sun to squint openly at him. He’s shaved, perhaps yesterday, judging by the amount of stubble around his jaw, and his hair has been trimmed up a few inches, shorter than the style he’d worn when he was fourteen, but longer than subsequent years. His skin is still bordering sickly pale, his cheeks hollow, and the brand-new Auror robes he wears hang somewhat loosely off his shoulders. Her gaze lingers over the straps and brass buckles pulling across his chest.
“Hey,” he says finally.
She waits, not wanting to make this too easy. It’s been a week since Fred’s funeral, a week since she laid eyes on him last. A week too bloody long.
“How are you?”
When she doesn’t answer, Harry blanches.
“Right. Right, um… Ron and Hermione just left. For Australia.”
“Yes, I know. They stopped by last night to tell us.” It takes everything not to hex him, so she asks him instead, hoping to get a rise out of him, “Are you bored?”
His eyebrows furrow. “Bored?”
“That’s why you came by, isn’t it? Because you’re bored?” There’s a real bite to her words, bitterness and anger shaking her voice. “Finally remembered I’m here?”
He struggles for a moment, the very picture of surprised, then says, “This is the first spare moment I’ve gotten since—”
“This is different, you know. You can’t just—” She’d be lucky if she makes any sense. She suddenly can’t string two thoughts together. “Everything is different now. I should still hate you.”
He'd left her, left her, could have been out of her life forever, willingly walked into the Black Forest and left her. Yet somehow, he was here, alive and still, still, there’s not enough time for them. She came second every time, and she wasn’t sure how much longer she could take it.
And god, god, why did it even matter?
Fred was dead.
Ginny’s head spins, and she leans back against the chicken coop for support. “Why can’t I hate you?”
Harry is looking down at his feet, then raises his eyes to scan over the fields of green. His tone is low, quiet, when he says, “I’m sorry.”
Ginny exhales roughly through her nose, exhaustion settling over her like a weighted blanket. She shuts her burning eyes so Harry does not see.
“I’m tired." She hates the way her voice is pitched high and broken. “I’m so fucking tired.”
His hand is gentle, gripping her wrist and pulling her against him. She folds into him and cries.

Hey I’ve had a bad day :(
here’s a free invitation to rant about anything Spideytorch —> 💌
I’m sorry you had a bad day but I am very excited about this invitation!
~
I have decided to rant about this panel and the trauma our boys got from it

so Red Skull is out here being a villain and uses mind control to f**k with the heroes and we get to this moment where Red Skull is like wow you two are super close gay for each other so I’m gonna make one of you watch the other die and I’m going to use mind control to do it which is so incredibly twisted
like Peter is hearing his best friend the love of his life say (against his will) that he is going to make Peter watch as he end his life. I cannot imagine how terrifying it is to hear the voice of the man you love say that and to know that neither of you have any control
then we get to the Johnny side of things. Johnny had had his free will taken away from him and Red Skull is trying to use that to not only end his life but do so to hurt Peter by making him watch! I am also a winterhawk shipper (Clint Barton x Bucky Barnes) and a lot of fics for that ship talk about their shared trauma of losing free will and not having control over yourself (Loki and Hydra for them) and how much that messes you up, Johnny is dealing with this!! sure it’s not lasting as long and it’s a different situation but my boy is still going through that and he is being used as a weapon to his lover and himself it makes me wanna scream
obviously they’re superheroes and all of this shit with Red Skulk gets resolved but the trauma of this situation I don’t think gets talked about enough in the fandom, specifically spideytorch shippers like this is great angsty fic fodder,
so here’s some of my angsty thoughts about what happens after
Johnny wakes up panicked and holding his head every night for weeks convinced Red Skull is still in there
when the nightmares got really bad Peter had to hold Johnny down so he didn’t try to harm himself in an attempt to get Red Skull out of his head
neither of them feel safe when Johnny has anything that could even remotely be used as a weapon
Johnny avoids the kitchen cause all he sees is ways that Red Skulk can kill him in front of Peter
Peter had an anxiety attack when Johnny was sitting on the roof with him because he could only hear mind controlled Johnny saying he would make Peter watch him die and pictured Johnny falling
they develop code phrases and questions to ask to reassure each other that the other isn’t mind controlled
for at least a year after anytime Johnnys voice sounds different, even if it’s just cause of a cold Peter gets nervous and demands a code phrase
to be honest they spend a lot of days right after the Red Skull incident together on the couch eating takeout and cuddling with minimal conversation
it takes a while for Johnny to trust his own mind and body again afterwards and Peter doesn’t know how to fix that which is really frustrating for him
when Johnny feels out of control he doesn’t want Peter nearby because he doesn’t want Peter to have to watch whatever might happen next
of course Peter can’t bare to leave Johnny so they had to develop a solution for that
Peter will sit around the corner or on the other side of a door so he can still be there but not see Johnny, it’s a weird loophole but it works for them
they do a lot of forehead touches after this
so many forehead touches
thank you again anon for your ask and for permission to rant! I hope this made your day better, even though it was a bit on the angstier side. if you want something fluffier just send another ask my way
EDIT: someone in the tags mentioned that Peter’s spidey senses are going off even though he’s not the one in physical danger and I will be screaming for the next 8 years

How to Reduce the Cost of Enclosing Your Patio
A patio enclosure can turn your outdoor space into a year-round retreat, but let's be honest—it’s not always cheap. Between materials, labor, and extra features, costs can add up fast.
But here’s the good news: you don’t have to break the bank to get a stylish, functional enclosure. With a little smart planning, cost-cutting strategies, and a few DIY tricks, you can keep expenses low without compromising on quality.
Let’s go step by step and explore how you can enclose your patio on a budget.
1. Choose the Right Type of Enclosure for Your Budget
The first (and most important) decision is choosing the right enclosure type. Some options cost significantly morethan others.
Screened-In Patio – The most affordable option. Keeps bugs out while allowing airflow. Ideal for warmer climates.
Vinyl or Plastic Panel Enclosure – A budget-friendly alternative to glass. Great for light weather protection.
Glass Sunroom – Offers full insulation but comes at a higher cost due to materials and framing.
Retractable Enclosure – More flexible but requires motorized features, making it pricier than fixed options.
Money-Saving Tip: If you only need protection from insects and light rain, a screened enclosure can cost thousands less than a glass sunroom.
2. Use Budget-Friendly Materials
Material selection can make or break your budget.
Aluminum Framing vs. Wood – Wood looks great but needs regular maintenance. Aluminum is cheaper, durable, and low maintenance.
Polycarbonate Panels vs. Glass – Polycarbonate panels cost less, are impact-resistant, and insulate well. Glass looks elegant but is more expensive.
Vinyl Screens vs. Metal Screens – Vinyl screens are cheaper and resist rust, while metal screens last longer but can cost more upfront.
Smart Buy Tip: Check local surplus stores or online marketplaces for discounted materials. Many people sell extra panels, framing, and screens at lower prices.
3. DIY vs. Hiring a Contractor
Labor costs can eat up a large chunk of your budget. If you’re willing to put in some work, DIY can save you thousands.
DIY-Friendly Enclosures – Screened patios and vinyl panel enclosures are beginner-friendly projects.
Hire a Pro for Complex Installs – Glass sunrooms and electrical work (lighting, heating, or fans) may require professional help.
Hybrid Approach – Do simple tasks yourself (like framing and panel installation) and hire a pro for tricky parts(like roofing or foundation work).
Labor Cost Hack: Ask contractors for itemized quotes—you may be able to cut costs by handling prep work yourself.
4. Plan for Off-Season Discounts
Here’s something many people don’t think about—timing affects pricing.
Spring & Summer – High demand = higher labor and material costs.
Fall & Winter – Contractors offer discounts when business slows down.
Best Time to Buy Tip: If possible, plan your project for late fall or winter to get lower prices on labor and materials.
5. Cut Costs on Flooring
If you already have a concrete slab, you’re in luck—that’s the cheapest foundation. But if you need flooring, here are some budget-friendly options:
Concrete Stain or Paint – A simple and affordable upgrade to plain concrete.
Outdoor Tiles (on Sale) – Look for clearance deals on patio tiles.
Artificial Turf or Outdoor Rugs – A cost-effective way to add comfort without expensive flooring.
Budget Flooring Tip: Instead of installing new decking, cover existing concrete with patio mats or outdoor carpet for a low-cost upgrade.
6. Skip Unnecessary Add-Ons
It’s easy to get carried away with add-ons that increase the price. But you don’t need everything right away.
Skylights – Nice, but they add extra costs for installation and sealing.
Built-In Lighting & Fans – You can add freestanding options later.
Sliding Doors vs. Standard Doors – Regular doors cost much less than sliding glass panels.
Smart Spending Tip: Start with the basics, then upgrade as your budget allows.
7. Look for Pre-Fabricated Kits
If building from scratch sounds too expensive, consider pre-fabricated patio enclosure kits.
Pre-Made Screen Enclosures – Come with pre-cut materials and are easier to assemble.
DIY Greenhouse-Style Enclosures – Affordable clear polycarbonate panel enclosures can double as sunrooms.
Prefab vs. Custom Tip: If you’re on a tight budget, pre-fab kits are often cheaper than custom builds—especially if you assemble them yourself.
8. Get Multiple Quotes Before Buying Materials or Hiring Help
One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make? Accepting the first price they see.
Compare multiple suppliers – Check hardware stores, online retailers, and discount supply shops.
Negotiate with contractors – Some will match or beat competitor prices.
Ask about price matching – Some stores offer discounts if you find materials cheaper elsewhere.
Money-Saving Tip: Check Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and ReStore for discounted building materials from homeowners who bought extra.
Final Thoughts
A great patio enclosure doesn’t have to cost a fortune—it just takes smart planning, material choices, and a little DIY effort.
Choose an enclosure that fits your budget (screened-in = cheapest).
Use budget-friendly materials like polycarbonate panels and aluminum framing.
Do some of the work yourself to save on labor costs.
Time your project for off-season discounts.
Skip pricey add-ons and start with the essentials.

05x35 - Only A Bit Of Thieving
Ted arrives at an address and notes that a panel on the front door has been broken and covered up with a thin piece of wood. He introduces himself to the house owner, Mrs Power. She is confused by his arrival as she's already spoken to an officer about her recent break-in. She thought she was safe as she had all the - at that time - mod cons and non-electric security features available to secure the house. She's now very paranoid as she and her husband moved from their last home due to a burglary. Her husband is away on business, so she's home alone. Ted tells her there has been a spate of burglaries in the area. There is a pattern that shows the burglars return soon after to take what they missed. Ted asks if she has a room that overlooks the back garden, she tells him she has a sewing room on the top floor that does and agrees for them to use it for an obbo.
Ken has a three-day secondment with CID and is very excited because he doesn't see himself ending his days in uniform. [Oh, Kenneth 😪]. He's very excited to stake out the house with Ted, despite Alistair's claim of there being no available overtime. Ted has told Ken that he will get them overtime, so Ken is waiting for him. "The wily old pole cat! He sleeps, you keep watch, and he gets paid for it! How does he do it?!" Alistair exclaims. Alistair and Ted declare the first two rules of CID. 1 - from Ted - know your angles. 2 - from Alistair - don't believe anything that comes from Ted! Ted confirms that, through telling a 'minor untruth,' he's managed to get 4 hours of overtime approved by Brownlow.
At the house, Ted tells Mrs Power that they'll let themselves out of the house when they're done and won't disturb her so she can go to bed as normal. Ted smokes whilst Ken keeps watch, telling him that he can see right into other people's houses with the night sight. "Dirty minded berk!" "Not like that!" Ken asks how Ted managed to swing the overtime, and all he replies is 'politics'. Ken asks again and we get the third rule of CID. "Ask no questions, you get told no lies" He pauses before smirking that Ken was right about seeing right into people's houses. Who was it with the dirty mind?
The night sight allows them to spot three dodgy-looking teens creeping into the garden and taking a ladder. They approach the house and climb onto a flat roof, and start to break in. Ken and Ted leave the house and creep into the garden to see what they're doing. Ken is told to stay out of sight whilst Ted climbs the ladder to disturb the criminals as they break in. Ted warns them to keep still and then shouts to Ken to get the van. Two edge to the side of the roof, whilst one that Ted tackles brings out a knife and threatens to cut him. Ted asks him to give him the knife. The kid contemplates jumping off, but Ted tells him not to as it's too high. Moments later, there's the sound of a scuffle and the lad falls to the ground with a scream. Ken checks on him and shouts for Ted. Ted tells him to call an ambulance.

Uniform arrive and arrest the other two suspects whilst the paramedics load the injured lad into the ambulance. Bob tells Ken to go to the hospital with the injured lad as he's technically a prisoner. "I can feel it already..." Tony tells the uniformed officers. "Nasty...."
Mrs Power feels sorry for the lad, but Ted is unmoved. "He shouldn't have been up there, should he?!" Christine enters without knocking and tells Ted to follow her. Ted charms Mrs Power and thanks her for everything, but Christine cuts in with "Now!" She tells him the lad was only 14. "Old enough to go out stealing!" insists Ted. Christine demands a full report from him for what happened and tells him she'll be getting one from Ken too, and she'll know if he's intimidated Ken.
At Sun Hill, the other two teens are overwhelmed as they're led into a loud and chaotic Custody. Claire and Tony call the boys' parents and inform them of their arrests and that they need appropriate adults. One of the dads, Mr Wilson, Is furious that he's been woken in the middle of the night and is even more angry to be asked if he knew where his son was. Bob tells him his son he is being charged with attempted burglary. "Didn't get inside, didn't have a chance because of that poxy copper!" Paul then alleges that Ted pushed his friend from the roof.
Bob orders Ken to return to Sun Hill after replacing him at St Hughes. He asks Claire to bring Ken straight to his office and to not let him talk to anyone, especially anyone from CID. Upstairs, Ted is writing his statement and has a call from Christine to go down to her office. Ken returns and goes straight to the Duty Sergeant's office whilst Ted signs his statement and heads down to Christine's office. Their paths do not cross.
Bob asks Ken to tell him exactly what happened, without the aid of his notes. Ken admits that he was in the garden, but he couldn't see what was happening on the roof from where he was. Bob asks him if he realises how serious it is, because it could mean Ted being up for attempted murder. Ken repeats that he was on the ground and couldn't see it. Bob calls it convenient(?!?!) He then suggests that in the 5-10 minutes before the ambulance arrived that Ken and Ted 'compared stories.' If he didn't see it it is the kid's word against his. "You don't have to cover up for him!" It's obvious he's trying to break him to get to the truth and Ken is visibly upset.
Ted hands Christine his statement and she asks if it "displays his usual use of imagination". Considering their past, she's really harsh on Ted and calls Brownlow in. Ted thinks it can wait, but Christine doesn't - especially as CIB are going to be involved.
In an interview room, June recaps Paul's statement, which details Ted moving toward his friend in a threatening manner and his arm being thrown out before his friend fell. She asks him to sign the statement and he hesitates. June asks him if he doesn't agree with the statement and his father tells her that he can't read or write. June tells him to put a cross against it instead and has his father sign the statement. He asks if his son is going to be prosecuted and June says it's up to the juvenile department and the inspector and may take several weeks until they know the answer. Tony updates Bob that the injured lad is now in a coma.
CIB arrive the next day and are greeted by Alec, who leads them to their office for the day.
Ted packs up his things into a briefcase. It's difficult to get the pics to show everything, but the essentials are there: a newspaper, scotch and aspirin.

Derek tells him off for causing aggravation over a juvenile thief. His bollocking is very unlike a Brownlow one as it's obvious he very much has his back and has knowledge of him as a person rather than a pawn in the station. Ted, being Ted, is very defensive and points out that he is there to arrest criminals, no matter who or what they are.

"I hope for your sake CIB sees it the same way!"
The father of Ted's accuser enters the station and asks to see the boss. He refuses to tell Claire what it's about and demands to see Bob. Alec tells Bob that Ken is getting a right grilling from CIB. Bob reveals the hidden biscuits....

... and tells Alec he has no faith in CIB making the right decision. "You know who and what I mean." He suspects that Ken is going to end up as the loser. "If they put Ken off being a copper, they're not doing anyone any favours." "You've got to admit he's a bit soft sometimes." Bob sums up that Ken is 'dead honest' which won't make him a lot of friends in the long run.
Claire brings Mr Wilson some tea and tells him that Bob has been delayed. He tells her to shove the tea because 'he wants to make a complaint.' Paul looks unsure and wants to leave, but Wilson shouts at him to shut up twice. Bob finally makes it over and tells him that he needs to see the Chief Inspector and CIB, and as CIB are being very thorough, there's no end to the length of time they'll have to wait. Paul looks very uncomfortable and clearly doesn't want to be there. Bob tells him that anything that is found to be untrue will add a charge of perjury to his offences. Wilson snaps that that's a threat and Bob tells him it's a warning and asks Paul again if he's sure. He clarifies that whatever is said has serious consequences for either him or Ted. Wilson accuses him again of threatening his son. Paul looks very uncomfortable and tells Bob that his friend is a nutter and jumped of his own accord. "I'll have you for this!" Wilson snaps at Bob.
At the end of the day, Derek arranges for CIB to be seen out and goes into CID, where Ted is unpacking his suitcase. "Any comments?" "He'd never have made it stick." Ted shrugs. Derek advises him to fork out for a few pints for Bob to thank him for what he did. He tells him he's been very lucky considering his record and how close he came to suspension. "Just get back to your duties."
In CAD, Alec takes a telephone call and tells the caller that he's very sorry to hear that. He goes up to CID and has to tell Ted that the boy has died from a haemorrhage. "I'm sorry, Ted." "What are you looking at me for? Don't go on about it. It wasn't my fault!" Ted says - but his face says a different story.

There are new things around such as Dubai container houses that have quickly started to become a great option and solution for many as an innovative quick and cost effective and eco-friendly houses. The demand for sustainable architecture is on the rise in the city, space efficient solution to the growing problem of urban density.
These homes are made of recycled steel shipping containers, which are long-lasting and can be easily moved. Because they are so customizable, they can go from simple projects like a studio up to fancy multi-container villas. All it takes is ISO-Wall insulation (for the walls, floor and roof) and an air-conditioning system to make containers perfectly appropriate for Dubai's hot desert climate.
Affordability is one of the main reasons people go for container houses in Dubai. They are much cheaper to build and maintain than conventional villas or flats. They’re also faster to build — sometimes finished in a few weeks — saving time and money.
They are also perfect for eco-conscious residents. They minimize the amount of construction waste they produce, and many use solar panels, rainwater collection systems and energy-efficient appliances to lower their footprint. In a city like Dubai where green building practices are gaining ground, container houses fit with the UAE’s sustainability vision.

And another key benefit is mobility and flexibility. Since these dwellings are portable, container homes can be placed anywhere, making them the perfect solution for temporary housing, site offices, or even off-grid living. These days there are many companies that are offering turn-key container houses, Dubai residents can buy with sleek interiors, modern finishes, and smart home features.
From a small dream home to a boutique container hotel or a pop-up retail space, container houses in Dubai list a variety of design options and specialize in flexibility, enabling you to take your dream to the next level. They’re not merely a trend—they’re the future of smart urban living in the UAE
