A = Activities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?

He enjoys indulging in softer things with you once you've reached that stage (sleeping snuggled together, reading together, coming up with new strategies.) All that stuff.

He’ll also train you (if you don’t have the skills already) and sparr with you regularly. You tend to be on the move a fair bit too, so road-trip shenanigans will ensue and you will piss each other off somehow.

B = Beauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

He inherently finds you attractive if he gives you more than a second glance period, but competence is something he finds most attractive in general. Any one who can hold their own in a fight or prove themselves resourceful and able to keep their cool during conflict is going to peak his curiosity.

Whether he becomes romantically interested in you outside of your initial appeal depends on your personality out of battle.

C = Comfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

Not well. Eric is not good at emotions that inherently have to do with vulnerability. At first he’s likely to ignore you or tell you to get your head on straight or some shit so he won’t be much help.

Now if you're having something like a panic attack or if you’ve gone hysterical or something he won’t just leave you out to dry. He’ll be gruff and awkward about it but he’ll put in some effort to calm you down. Stressing that he’s got your back will definitely be his go to, but explaining the logistics of your situation will also be something he gravitates towards: how far off the grid you are, the uv lights littering the hideout, etc.

D = Dreams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?

On principle Eric doesn’t let himself get distracted by whimsical thoughts like that. He’s fighting a seemingly endless war and thinking about a future that likely won’t happen and won't do anything but get him killed is useless in his opinion.

In general Eric just cherishes the time he does have with you. At most when you're resting and he has the chance to just hold you he’ll think about staying with you like this forever. Not being in danger ever again, not the vampiric kind at least.

E = Equal - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

Eric’s the dominant one, no argument. Both his personality and profession don’t allow him comfort in not being in explicit control of his situation.

That being said, if he trusts you he will allocate some of the responsibility to you. You’re his partner in and off the field and likely have a dominant personality as well that compliments his own. You’re two different types of dominant and balance one another out.

F = Flight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?

No. It doesn’t even matter if it’s a small thing that’s not even really a secret but just personal, he’ll be in his feelings about it.

Earning his trust is no easy feat and anytime you break it Eric will take it personally, but smaller offenses he will undoubtedly get over himself about eventually.

Now anything big is a whole other story. You're secretly a mole? He’ll kill you and it’ll be vicious even if a part of him will always mourn what you once had.

G = Gratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

Eric is big headed. Without active prompting from someone else, like Whistler, or the sudden absence of your help he’ll mostly overlook your contributions.

It’d have to take something/someone shoving how good you are for him in his face for him to appreciate you outside of grunts of thanks and rushed requests.

Even romantically he’ll insist he doesn’t need you, that he’s not attached. It pisses you off like nothing else and his denial will grate on you to the point of an argument at some point. He’ll have to be honest with himself eventually though, and do a hell of a lot to make it up to you and show you that he values your relationship too.

H = Honesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?

He inherently doesn’t like telling anyone about his mother and her death and so finding out about that will take him being real comfortable with his s/o. His mother having been turned successfully, not being dead, and leaving him out to dry as a kid/trying to kill him will be a secret he keeps even closer to his chest.

Other than that he’ll hide small things from you if he feels he can handle a situation on his own. Things like if someone is following you or he was confronted by an enemy are things that will only come out if his leg is pulled.

I = Inspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helping them overcome personal problems?

100% Eric is way more personable with you in his life. Doesn’t matter if you’ve also got a gruff personality, the fact that he’s talking to someone else positively at all is enough to improve his communication skills.

Him loving you and being able to admit that is also a way you change him. He becomes way better at handling intimacy with you at his side.

If you’re less battle oriented or meek he’ll help with that definitely. At first he’s too forceful but eventually he’ll get the gist of teaching you with things like positive reassurance and cooperation.

J = Jealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Eric is more possessive than he is jealous. He’s used to the good things in his life being taken away from him and is very protective of you.

He doesn’t get jealous mostly because he’d have to think anyone could be better than him at something, for starters, and jealousy can’t happen at all unless you manage to form a close personal connection with someone else.

Even then once he’s learned to trust you at your own reassurance he’ll take you at your word completely that you only have eyes for him.

- He is very nonchalant about the first date, he trusts that you like him and he likes you so he doesn’t need to worry about that.  He wears his typical outfits, but Nami and Robin probably step in and help him pick something fancier to wear.  (I mean see how fancy he was in whole cake). 

- Getting him to ask you out was probably very easy or very frustrating, he’d either automatically do it, “Y/n, let's go grab something to eat and hang out!” or him pondering what dating actually is and realizing dates are a thing.  

- He’d want to take you on an adventure or a place that means alot to him, even if it didn’t seem like he put much thought into it. If you are in the middle of the sea, probably front of the ship on his captain's seat, or even taking you to an unknown island leaving the crew behind, just for you two to do something together.  

- He’d ask Sanji to help prepare a meal, I mean do you think that man would eat anyone else’s cooking especially after whole cake.  He’d make sure it was your favorite and then carry it in a basket. (Lets hope the basket doesn’t get ruined on your way through the island) 

- After you arrive at a spot, hand and hand, he’ll just find a cool rock to sit on and lay out your food.  Lots of joking and storytelling on his part, he may not want to know much of your past yet so it would be about the crew and any adventures.  He may even ask for a bit of your food or stretch and grab a bit of it without asking.

- He’d keep you safe the entire time, and ngl there's probably going to end up being a fight in the adventure but hey that’s part of luffy. 

- If you get scared, he’ll give you his hat. Light a campfire and then look at the stars above (Nami gave him the idea and threatened to take his funds away if it wasn’t romantic enough for you) 

- He’d just go in for the kiss, he isn’t the type to make everything a question, he’ll do it but he also will make sure its consensual by the vibes going on.  His kiss would be firm and energetic, he wouldn’t be boring because he isn’t boring at all. 

- Then you guys would walk back, wide smirks while holding hands. Y’know the crew is all going to want to know details even if they don’t bombard you all at once.

-Zoro is probably very nervous for your first date but won’t show it. He has no idea what to do, like where to take you or even what to wear. Asking you out was a struggle to begin with. It took him a whole week to muster up the courage. 

-He’d spend days and days trying to think of something just right for you. But to him nothing is good enough. So he’d resort to the crew for help. 

-He’d most likely go to Robin for help considering she’d be more experienced, do it for free, and isn’t the pervy cook. 

-After brainstorming with the archeologist, he decides to take you to a small family restaurant. It's not the fanciest but it has a welcoming feel. 

-He honestly has no clue on what to wear. If it were up to him he’d just take a shower and wear his normal clothes. You’re probably like “omg a shower?!??!”. Yes. This is a special occasion he has to AT LEAST shower (I refuse to believe he won’t). Nami, thank goodness, has mercy and decides to help him with his clothes. She yanks him back to his room and tries to find something presentable for him to wear. She’ll be sure to charge him later. 

-Once Nami picks him something for him to wear, he spends goodness knows how long worrying. He paced the room thinking of what to say, how to act, especially what NOT to say. This was so unlike him you’d think it was usopp. Thankfully for you, Franky comes to the rescue.

“Robin, I’m telling you he’s not in here- OH MY GOD ZORO YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO LEAVE 20 MINUTES AGO!!” 

-Snatching him out of his nervousness, franky escorts him. Nami and Robin tag along for moral support. When they arrive you had only been there for a few minutes. Long enough to order a drink for you and Zoro. 

-When he finally sits down you can sense how truly nervous he is. His face is flushed, knee won’t stop bouncing, and he’s avoiding eye contact. To break out of it he chugs his drink. Then another. And even another. It takes a good 5 jugs for him to loosen up but when he does you’re glad. 

-By this time you both had ordered and began eating. The conversation between you two becomes effortless and you’re both having the time of your life. In the midst of laughter, you notice a bull riding machine in the back. It's just waiting to be ridden.

“Zoro look, it’s a bull riding machine!! You should get on it” your voice is filled with pure excitement. 

“No, it looks stupid” he says turning back to his food.

“Fine, I knew a moss headed brute like you couldn’t do it” you say with a playful side eye.

-At that he’s off to the machine, determination all over his face. Once he’s on he shoots you a smirk that says “watch this”. Then it begins. He does surprisingly well at first, the machine moves faster and faster. He’s on there tight until the unexpected happens. He breaks the handle and goes flying. He manages to destroy 3 chairs and 2 tables. Zoro broke 2 records right then. The longest time on the bull and destroying the most property in that lovely restaurant.

-Needless to say, you were both kicked out after that. Don’t worry though the night has just begun. You and Zoro decide to keep walking around town. It's quite beautiful at night. 

-Zoro takes you all around looking at beautiful shops, statues and more. All in all your night was full of fun. 

-Once the moon was high and the streets quieted, yall headed back to the ship. You somehow ended up holding  Zoro's hand. It felt so natural that you didn’t notice until you got to the ship. Zoro and you climbed on deck and began your goodbyes, talking about what a wonderful date it was. 

-You two were standing in front of the kitchen, holding hands. Just looking into each other’s eyes. It seemed like it would be a simple goodbye, a quick hug and you’ll be off. That is until he’s somehow pushed into you. Your lips crash. It's rough at first given the shock but soon you both melt into it. You can feel the love he has for you with every movement. 

-You pull away, not ready for what could come next. 

“Thank you for tonight” You whisper as you back away.

“No problem” he says, still a bit dazed by the kiss.

-As you walk away you notice small pink petals disappear. “Robin” you think with a chuckle. 

-You can’t wait for your next date and neither can he.

- sanji’s probably been preparing for this date for WEEKS. everything is going to be absolutely gorgeous and stunning and thoroughly planned out. he’s a miserable hopeless romantic, so if he gets a chance to go outrageously over-the-top, he definitely will.

Like do you think he actually have like doodles/sketchs of them in a pairing kind of way? like for the strong world film riding the motorbug? Hey there anon! Thank you so much for your question and I hope I can answer it seriously enough. Also once more sorry for the late response. I felt like a question like that needs some research and that is what I did these last few days.

So... I think I'll start with the tl;dr because that way people can read that and ignore the rest.

So, long answer short: I 100% believe that Oda has one or more sketchbooks with drawings of his characters that are absolutely self-indulgent. I am 98% sure that he has drawn Franky and Robin in a romantic way at least once (and supported the ship). I am 80% sure he still is shipping FRobin.

Little disclaimer: I actually have no idea if any of this is true. I pull everything in my arguments out of my own experiences and knowledge and since I'm not a 46 year old Japanese Mangaka my perspective might be WAY OFF.

So, why do I think that Oda has a secret sketchbook?

Simple answer is that he is an artist. He is drawing a lot and no artist will publish everything. That can have multiple reasons like imposter syndrome or because the artist thinks it’s not good or interesting enough or they just forget. There are even more reasons I forget and every person has their own.

For Oda I can imagine two big reasons as to why he would keep secret sketchbooks.

First: He is a horndog. You can skip this part if you don’t want to read about it, to the second reason.

Anyway, we know thanks to answers in the SBS, the way he likes to draw big-breasted women and how some of his characters are classified as perverts that he can be considered one too.

Let me show you a few of a few lewd SBS questions he likes to answer in a funny way:

Nowadays I’m sure there is a focus on those lewder questions compared to the beginning because that is what 13 year old boys laugh about and we all know that is Oda's main demographic (of course).

I think a very good picture of that is given by Tekking101 in his breakdown video of SBS Volume 100.

“Let’s get diving into these questions (...) now, this is a huge moment. I mean, not many Manga manage to reach 100 Volumes, Okay? Now I know Oda usually starts these off with questions relating to boobs and things that don’t really… you know, aren’t really relevant but you know, this is a big celebration so we’re gonna dive right into it. I bet the most important things that we need to know about the One Piece Story are right here in these pages, okay? I printed them out. That is how important this is. So let’s start off, shall we? Epic voice, Barry!

So, Oda is a man who likes beautiful women and who draws.

Coming to the conclusion that he will draw his own characters in suggestive poses, naked and even doing adult stuff is not hard.

Obviously he would not show these sketches just around. He would probably keep them in a secret sketchbook that he keeps at a safe location. Maybe his wife and some close friends know about it? Maybe it is his and only his little secret.

I don’t think it would be unlikely to learn about this years into the future, maybe the next generation of Anime Fans will hear about this.

And it would not be the first time that something like this happened.

Not that long ago the daughter of Osamu Tezuka - groundbreaking Mangaka, known for his works of “Astro Boy”, “Kimba the white lion” and many more - found his adult Furry art. Source; Japanese article;

It’s a fact that many Mangaka did indeed start their career with art of the more risque kind and/or as doujinshi artists.

So again, I have no doubt that Oda, a known pervert, has one or more secret sketchbooks with „the p0rnography“ in it. Is there only hot stuff in there? Not necessarily.

The second reason to keep a secret sketchbook would be to collect information in there, that could be considered canon but he is not willing to use it in the Manga. Maybe they are not important enough or will be used later.

What am I imagining here? Anything that could be considered too weird for the normal sketchbook but isn‘t too risque. Funny things that might still not be „appropriate.“

Like a sketch of the male Strawhat ding-dongs with the sizes beside it. All the lewd jokes the fans did about Luffy's stretching qualities? I’m sure Oda thought about them too and drew that in the past if he had the time and it made him laugh enough.

But also maybe there are scenes in there that never made it in the Manga. The Strawhats interacting with each other in their daily lives, ideas for colorspreads and maybe chapter-titles. Oda probably has noted/sketched down a lot of unofficial stuff somewhere.

Another example, even an artist like Oda himself would have needed to exercise drawing two people kissing. Why not use Characters he thinks that might work out together?

Why not Franky and Robin? I would imagine he sketched up a few panels of Franky and Robin having a romantic date, going shopping together in Dressrosa, having a conversation that we never got to see because it was too on the nose.

Which brings us to the second point of me being very sure that Oda had drawn FrankyXRobin at one point.

I’m sure in those sketchbooks there is at least one drawing of them doing anything couple-related together. Again it does not have to be downright nasty but it could be them holding hands, kissing or even just Robin leaning onto Franky while reading, like all those fanarts that exist out there.

It’s not hard to imagine. Even for other Characters I think that is possible

And there might even be proof for that idea. The sketch of the Strong World movie you also mentioned, anon. The one movie that can be considered canon is Strong World. It was basically written/directed by Oda. Shiki the antagonist had an appearance in the Manga.

This sketch is drawn by Oda. Robin is holding onto Franky.

Can it be read as romantic? Yes. Can it be read as Robin holding onto Franky because there is nothing else to hold onto? Also Yes. But couldn't she just have used her power to keep herself secured on the bike without holding onto Franky? WELL YES. Could Oda never have thought in these circles like I do right now? I hope he did not because I hate it and I don’t wish it upon him.

In the movie Robin is NOT holding onto Franky. Now the really interesting thing - that is neither proof pro nor anti FRobin - is that we can see the sketch provided by Oda as a “between the scenes”.

In the movie Strong World the old trio is collecting information at the Pirate assembly. The next time we see them they use the Batta GT-7000 to slowly approach the destroyed village, which had been ravaged by the animals, and start to look for their friends. No need to hold onto Franky and no need for Brook to lean back. They are looking around.

The sketch is clearly not the same scene as the one we see in the movie.

In conclusion the drawing is indeed a between the scenes drawing. And yes if there exists one, who is to say there aren’t more?

Talking about Animal-Bikes...

Is there any meaning about the fact that in the opening scene (that is part of the talked intro after the opening ‘We Go’ - a huge thanks to antiherofangirl, ccb0nnet, JFL_Estudios and Maems, over at twitter!) Franky and Robin build another grasshopper-based vehicle? Maybe not but I still feel like it’s quite a callback.

Where did the idea to put this in the beginning come from? a) an editor had the idea inspired by Strong World; b) maybe it’s another sketch that Oda provided.

Neither seems very far-fetched in my opinion.

So yes, I am very sure that Oda has drawn things that we would consider FRobin.

Now to the last point (the first being Oda having a secret sketchbook, the second me arguing that Oda might have drawn FRobin).

As I said in the beginning I’m very sure that at one point Oda did and kinda that he still does ship Franky and Robin. Because even though every Interaction of two characters can be depicted as romantic or platonic, Oda used ROMANTIC TROPES with Franky and Robin.

They have never kissed on screen but we had

and we can’t forget that Robin had answered Franky's invitation to ride on another animal-themed bike with a heart.

Those are things an author of Oda's level would not write or draw without being aware about how teasing this is. He has to be aware that every single line he draws will be analyzed to the end of the universe and back. People earn money by saying their opinion and interpretations about the Manga on Youtube.

These interactions are not something outlandish like “There was once an Anime Scene in which Robin was wearing something blue and exactly 28 episodes later Franky was wearing something violet and then 39 episodes later they both stood beside each other for exactly 69 seconds.”

Whenever I think about these facts, things that are not about interpreting but are factual, black ink on white paper but also about the little things, about how Frank and Robin help each other to become better, how they support each other… I want to say YES! ODA IS 100% on board! While in reality I’m 80% sure and 20% of me is wondering if I’m not actually analyzing too much into it. If maybe he really is abandoning ship. Maybe I will become the person who will curse his name and throw my Mangas and fanfictions in an active volcano?

I don’t know and it’s impossible to say what is going to happen.
