Mini-review:

This was such a unique, unexpected drama. It's mostly a slice-of-life story, leaving almost all the heavy drama for the last couple of episodes, and watching it is such a calming experience (except for a few intense scenes, of course). Also, I appreciate its efforts to explore Kazakh culture, which is pretty much never represented in any form of mainstream media. On top of that, it's a visually stunning piece of art: I can't remember the last show or movie that showcased such a big collection of downright striking landscapes. I feel like I spent 80% of the time staring in awe at the scenery. It really is that beautiful, and everything is so well-shot; the cinematographer deserves all the awards in the world. My only qualm is the dubbed voice they use for the male lead at some points, which is very annoying and unnatural. But yeah, To The Wonder is like no other drama I've seen. Just the visuals alone make it worth a watch.

The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update+ 29/Sept/2023

Oh my word, guys! Next week I will be starting writing Book Four! And am I ever unbelievably eager to get this particular story on the go! I don’t think I’ve ever been so hyped to start writing as this one :D

Though saying that, I do have social media days next week, which should be very fun as the results of the Patreon poll for the Autumn/Spooky scenarios are now in!

So Alima, Haley, Sin and Maaka won, and I’ll be writing the AU romantic October Scenario specials for those! And I always love writing me some autumnal moments :D

I also need to actually start the writing of Book Four with some of the tidying up coding I talked about before. But that’ll actually save me a lot of time in the end, as I’ve done some learning on how to smooth out some coding! Then there’s also the immense task of writing and coding the Book Three synopsis and character choices for those who aren’t transferring over characters from previous books!

After that though, Chapter One begins and, honestly, I’m actually shaking with excitement writing that I’m so ready to begin, hehe!

So it’ll be a busy one next week, but so worth it as I finally get to start on what I’ve been planning! Can’t wait to fall back into the romances with Unit Bravo, introduce new characters, put the MC in even more intense situations, and finally bring the baddy to life.

And as our villain for Book Four says, “Meor’dal, you’ve never met anyone like me before.” ;D

i’m still debating some stuff about her in the arcana-verse, like if she’s visiting or not--because in her canonverse it’s actually plausible that she’d visit a place like vesuvia/this world haha

her canon (i’ve talked about her/her canon a little before here & here ) is in such a place that it could intersect with a place like this OR at least link to a place like this somehow, but she’s just....she’s my big tiddy demon oc who just took on a life of her own and now she’s basically running things behind the scenes and helping rule her world alongside their king.

in the modern au we have for her she’s an actress; she was in a punk band as a teenager, ran away from home (ish), came to america with her now-best-friend, started stripping and cleaning houses trying to get a music career going and eventually got scouted for TV and her career took off. she’s got a big family in this au, her dad never died and her family stayed together and she’s got a big fam that she loves very much. her mum prabha is indian and from a very wealthy indian family based near agra, while her father, alexander, is british-egyptian and works as a museum curator that his very wealthy grandfather helped build and fund. his father was an archaeologist and that’s how he met his mother, and there u go. she and her sisters visit their family in india about as much as they all can; schera is the eldest and lives furthest away in NY right now while her second-eldest sister padma lives with her husband james in london, and her third-eldest sister layla is attending uni with her girlfriend june at cambridge. (june’s an aspiring stage actress and layla likes lacrosse and rugby) her sisters faiza and sonali are in school together and faiza’s studying to be a vet while sonali is....exploring her options....but they’re besties. faiza’s about as shy as a person can be and sonali is. not. then there’s satya who runs a fashion blog and is basically on her way to being a very prominent beauty blogger and i d o l i z e s schera (who dotes on her a lot anyways) and finally there’s the twins, alima and priya, who are still in primary school and love to make trouble. all the girls are daddy’s girls but their parents both just adore their girls and each other. they’re actually still both pretty young (barely in their 40s) and listen 8 kids and 20-some-off years could not kill their romance and schera wants that in her life a lot. she doesn’t really admit it but she’s really held her parents relationship on a pedestal and wants that kind of love for herself.

It’s stupid, immoral and downright illegal. We are deceiving the public, lying and betraying the trust of the brand. Get yourself on the phone to casting downstairs. I am sure we have some D-list celeb just dying to make a spectacle of themselves on TV over Christmas.” He walks out the door letting it slam hard behind him. Fucking hell, Danijel. Mattias’s life is peaceful and quiet, his job rewarding and fulfilling. His daughter is the love of his life. He doesn’t need this. It’s eight weeks until Christmas. Four weeks until “Baking Battles, The Celebrity Christmas Special” will premiere in time for the December festive period. Eight mouth-watering spectacular episodes full of Christmas cheer, home-made flavours and quirky heart-warming mistakes by clueless celebrities, showing their human side. Christmas cakes. Fucking gingerbread houses. And fruitcakes… not just of the baked variety. He’s not going anywhere near it. Nope. Not happening.
