@vulpixisananimal sifstem art jumpscare!! more specifically i got bored and decided to mess around with sif and mal's outfits.

#my art #this is how I think theyd present themselves either in person or in headspace. the slouchers <3 #sifs outfit is simple; the boots i always give them (but with star laces for funsies); loose sweater; simple pants #the pants are Meant to be jeans but isat doesnt Specifically Have Jeans so. theyre just Pants.#the sweater is slightly looser bc sif doesnt seem like a Form Fitting Clothes kinda guy to me but hes Trying to be more open #on particularly good days theyll roll the sleeves up or wear a sleeveless one methinks #even if everyone Knows abt the self-harm scars its hard to Look at them.#i also associate them being more open with them not wearing an eyepatch. esp bc hes the only one of the three to go without it #for mal (or 'ami' as i like to call it) i wanted smth reminiscent of a mourning outfit bc mal du pays means homesickness #and i picked 'ami' as a nickname bc ami means friend :] at least according to my basic translator. i dont speak french <3 #ami's outfit being dark is also reminiscent of the inversion thing its got going on in canon.#ik the veil is starred in the original but i think ami would want the fewest reminders of home. on account of The Issues #(actually if i can come back to sifs laces sif also has issues with reminders of it bc of the memory loss but the shoelaces are His Choice—#—which gives them a form of control over it and they can keep it subtle or undo it if he wants. which makes it easier)#anyway. i put amis hair in an updo and smoothed the hat bc i think ami wants to be Unremarkable. Unknown. so it keeps its silhouette Simple #(it still keeps the pins. theres smth comforting abt them. they shine like stars and theyre not stars and theyre not Home. but theyre You.)#and i kept the long hair i gave loop. dont ask me why its so long when the canon hair is short. maybe their hair kept growing over the loop #OH and i drew ami in a side profile bc Silhouette and also bc i think itd make an effort to keep people away from its blind spot #andddd i think thats about it? plus i actually managed to keep this one within a reasonable timeframe.#if their hair changes lengths/the proportions change between drawings. no they dont 💛 peace and love and body craft #OH AND YOU FINALLY GET TO SEE WHAT I MEAN ABT SIFS BOOTS BC THESE ARE THE BOOTS I GAVE THEM ON MY REGULAR DESIGN ARENT THEY NEAT #i did actually try to give sif a different font but nothing Works for them like the pixel font. i cant explain it.#i think 'ami' would be a nickname that mira gives it. bc. shes Fantasy French. and its a sort of 'youre more than your yearning/loss' thing #me every time i think abt sifstem: yeah they just rotate in my head. nothing major #me every time i talk abt sifstem: oh hey im almost at tag limit again #au Good what can i say

very excited for people to see how all of these characters have changed in subtle ways due to either maturity in nuance or dissatisfaction with the original portrayals, but i think i'm most excited for people to read about valerie this time. which, possibly may be because this book is centered around her, but i just feel like she's gained some good depth. all of her traits are still there, for better or worse, but there's definitely an added realism that i'm really proud of ♡ and i hope is better understood this time around.

#obviously i haven't had much time to get to izzy in this book considering he doesn't really come into full form until MS #but i think he's an interesting/darker/sharper character #much less sarcastic for the hell of it and just cynical/apathetic from the jump #axl is a better portrayal of a rockstar this time - i think #more frustrating and complex but also a little bit truer to form #less mad all the time so much as he just passionate about everything and sort of a quick temper #and jill is more difficult #plainly put #which i find infinitely more interesting and also prob what i was going for the first time around #she's not as coddled by the narrative -- though maybe she is by other characters; which is essentially the point -- and she generally just #has less patience and superficial kindness but in a way i think is realer and less cringe-inducing #also in a way that will make her drama with izzy in ms all the more compelling bc she's not just gonna roll over for his bullshit #but idk #im really happy with valerie this time #of the two people who've read the new version - her addiction is a lot more realistic; but also she retains her naivety and open heart in #again - a way that's not cringe-inducing. i literally had to pause rewriting in some of the early chapters because i could see how og #valerie was the perfect target for emotional manipulation and abuse. she was so forgiving and just passive and - that wasn't what i'd ever #gone for !! so this time she is also not taking axl's bullshit <3 yay. also her cool girl energy is more clearly a facade this time but als #much more convincing than her original which just felt like i was drawing insp off dark feminine/90s baddie pinterest pins which just isn't #the vibe anymore #aw tag rant #who said that

Fighting for my life trying to cook in my parents kitchen last night.

Got in a fight when I blocked my mother from putting a can of corn in the butter chicken I had been cooking for 2 hours

#it had been a long time since i went to a neighbor for an ingredient. heyyyy brianne i saw you outside and was wondering if you had like #a 1/4 cup of flour i could steal?#what house doesnt keep flour stocked up #the same that raised an idiot who didnt knock the side of the flour jar to make sure the flour wasnt just set at and angle #looking at it i was like yeah theres like 4 cups in there easy. .....oh no. please god i only need 1.1/2 cups of flour please please please #my curry had fresh herbs and 3 bell peppers and a whole bundle of celery and 2 fancy tomatoes. roasted. boiled. hand blended.#left to simmer to get rid a bit of the liquid. and my mother. enters my domain. and tried to add canned corn to my final product.#i HATE canned corn. but the fucking audacity. the disrespect.#i kept grabbing things i needed and realized like 10 minutes in what a mistake i had made #grabbing bowls. spatulas. knives. ROLLING PINS. measuring cups and spoons. and theyre ALL DIRTY #STOP PUTTING THINGS AWAY THAT STILLHAVE FOOD ON THEM #WHY AM I SCRAPPING OLD FOOD OFF A ROLLING PIN WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER #i made a butter chicken. the rice and homemade naan bread. and by the end i had filled a half of the dishwasher with just found dirty items.#someone made something with fat and cocoa in the metal bowl and just put it through the washer and put it away without looking???#this house feels so fake. not meant to live in. just an ingredient for shame and order #when i moved home. no broom. no cleaning rags. they just used the kitchen dish rags 🤢. no household tools except for a baggie of allen keys #all the chairs and couches are pure white and hurt to sit on for long periods #everything causes discomfort and all the counters are only as tall as my thighs. even the newly renovated ones
