WIP Wednesday.

I haven't done one of these in a long time but maybe I should, maybe it will kick my ass in to gear and write more lol But yeah, this is a small piece of my Rockstar Derek/Deaf Stiles fic that I've had in the works for a little while and came to me because of the band Halestorm.

The song changes and with it brought new vibrations, ones that danced their way across his skin faster, his heart climbed with each heavy beat that he could feel, threatening to leap from his throat as he reached up and pushed his hand through his hair. It was sweat slicked and he knew that it was probably standing in different directions, but he couldn’t care as he watched the bands singer curl around the microphone, her lips moving with a smirk. He watched as she caressed the stand with one hand and moved the other around in motions that were clear as it turned and she flipped off the audience. Around him, he could feel the swell of the crowed, the way the air shifted, he could see the reaction of the crowed clear in the singer’s face, the way it amused her before she was half turning pulling the microphone with her as she stalked towards the God on guitar. 

Stiles’ mouth went dry again as they leaned in to each other, shoulders pressing together before they rolled in to a motioning of foreheads touching. He could feel the way that the microphone picked up the extra vibrations and sounds of the guitar, the way it had his heart racing faster in his chest as he bounced on his feet.

Stiles felt on top of the world, surrounded by the empowering feel of the room. Letting his eyes close as the songs changed, he panted and dipped his head for a moment. There was a tickle along his temple as a bead of sweat rolled down, but he just let himself feel as his chest heaved. He was lost in his trance, unsure of how long he had been swaying when he felt the shift again. 

He couldn’t explain it as he felt the way his heart started to ache, there was an extra level to the way he was feeling, the way the air flowed. Opening his eyes slowly, he tilted his head up until he was once again staring at the stage. He felt entrapped as he stared at the guitar player as he stood in front of a mic stand, his lips moving, adding an extra timber to the music he could fear. For a moment Stiles felt like he was alone in the arena, nothing around except him and the God playing his guitar as he sang. Even the female singer seemed to disappear as Stiles watched the swell of his shoulders move, the way his face looked so open. 

Stiles didn’t know what they were singing, but he knew that it was something meaningful with the way he could feel it deep in his bones. It was almost like he was reaching out to Stiles, wanting him to open himself up and reveal everything about himself. Stiles wanted to spill his soul to the guy, to vomit it all out, all his secrets and dreams. Licking across his lower lip, Stiles could taste the rhythm on his tongue, the way the notes seemed to dance across his taste buds and down his throat, sinking low in to his stomach and settling like a warm blanket.  It left him feeling off kilter with the way the guy looked, the rawness on his face as he sung and the way he looked at the girl. If he didn’t know better, he would’ve thought that maybe it was a song about desire and being left behind, that maybe he was in love with his lead singer, but Stiles knew about the band, knew that it wasn’t the case.

Derek Hale was a local boy. The whole band was practically. 

Derek Hale was a diamond in the rough, someone who had lost his family in a house fire and then a sister to murder. Stiles remember the night of the fire, of his father coming home smelling like ash and smoke. He had hugged Stiles so hard that night that he could feel his bones popping in protest.

I'm looking for a fic where Stiles, world's biggest rockstar, got out of an abusive relationship with a baseball player, and is in a depression. His manager, Lydia, is trying to force him to tour for his album about said relationship. He meets actor Derek Hale, who is most famous for an action zombie movie series. He is also later revealed to have had a crush on Stiles at the beginning of Stile's career. Stiles writes another album, one song based on Derek and his zombie movies, which becomes very popular. Stiles overdoses on tour for the new album and goes to rehab. They end up together.

I’ve fallen down a bit of a quarantine induced Teen Wolf and subsequent Dylan O’Brien rabbit hole. It would seem that a) Stiles is the most interesting character on Teen Wolf and b) Dylan O’Brien plays some version of Stiles in his other movies. I’m here for this. 

I said from the jump that I was watching Teen Wolf because I wanted more werewolf fic in my life. So, under the cut you’ll see some of what I’ve enjoyed lately.

Heart and Soul.

His palms were slick against the metal railing that held them back from the stage, his fingers curled around the thick metal tight enough that he knew that he would have indentations on his skin once he had let go. People pressed against him from either side, their own bodies just as hot as his own, sweat filling the air and assaulting his nose, but he didn’t care, not when he could feel the vibrations flowing through the floor and climbing up his legs. His heart beat in time with the drums, blood rushing through his veins with each stroke of the guitar strings.  He could feel the melody, the bass, the joy. All his senses felt heightened as he opened his eyes and stared up at the stage. He knew that he wasn’t in the best place, more to the side and close to the speakers but to Stiles, he was in heaven as he watched the band move around on the stage. The music’s beat was lodged in his throat, his mouth almost dry as his eyes ran over the man stood towards the side of the stage. He was a vision, a gift from God himself as Stiles watched the thick veins stand out on his arms and across the back of his hands as they moved.  For a moment, he stared at the strings, almost imagining the aura around them as thick fingers plucked at each other. Stiles could feel the vibration of them, the way they made his body itch with the want to touch both man and guitar. Fingers shifting, Stiles just knew that the tips would be rough with calluses as they caressed the instrument, could imagine the way that they would rasp against his skin, sliding across his flesh and leaving goosebumps in their wake. He imagined him stroking his skin like he stroked his guitar strings and Stiles shivered from head to toe. Tearing his eyes away, Stiles let himself look towards the singer, the blonde who looked like she would eat him alive if she had the chance. The thought made his lips curl up in to a grin as someone shifted beside him, nudging in to his arm. His hand slipped from the railing and trailed over the top, the railing’s bar hitting hard against his inner arm. He ignored it as he replaced his hand and breathed out slowly, he didn’t care about being bashed around, to be knocked in to by others, after all, they were all there for the same reason, to enjoy good music.

Summary: Stiles is pretty sure that Derek Hale hates him, judging by the way he disappears from the room the second Stiles enters. Derek is pretty sure that the entire world knows about his crush on Stiles Stilinski, and that’s why he has to avoid him. For once the werewolf thing isn’t even his biggest secret.

AN: So, guess what I’ve done while quarantined? If you guessed “write fic” you would be right. The highest level of appreciation to @prairiedale1 for being an actual rockstar for charity.

“Stiles thinks you hate him,” Cora laughed in his face.

“What?” Derek didn’t know what else to say to that.

“We talked today,” Cora at fifteen was braver than Derek had ever been. “He wants to talk to you, because you keep avoiding him. So congrats, your twenty year plan is working.”

Cora had talked to Stiles today. Now that he focused on her, he could scent some traces of sugar and Adderall and coffee. She’d been close to Stiles then, somewhere towards the ends of the school day. Otherwise the scent would have been covered up by others already. Cora wasn’t the kind of social butterfly that Laura was, but she had plenty of friends.

“That’s not,” Derek started to defend himself.

“That’s not the plan,” Cora tried to sound just like Derek at his grumpiest. “I know, doofus. But you’ve basically been writing Derek Stilinski in your journal for five years now. Don’t you think it’s time to move from dreaming to doing? He isn’t going to be single forever, you know.”

That was not something that Derek particularly wanted to think about. He didn’t want to consider Stiles noticing Erica, or one of the other people in the unofficial Stiles Stilinski fanclub. There was no way that Derek and Erica were the only people who’d noticed his awesomeness - Stiles was too awesome not to be noticed by everyone.

But Derek was growly and possessive and stupid about that thought.

It’s not like it was a hardship to come see Alphas perform, especially with VIP passes which gave him access to the best spots in the crowd and backstage. Besides, he had grown accustomed to Cora’s … rough ways.

Cora Hale was the owner of Wolf’s Den, the greatest bakery in the entire world (though Stiles might be a bit biased) where his dad was absolutely NOT allowed, ever. She was the youngest of the Hale siblings and had been Stiles’ friends ever since he allowed her to use the green crayon in kindergarten.

Laura and Derek, her two older siblings, were rockstars. Literally. Well… They weren’t The Stones nor Nirvana, but "Alphas” was a pretty well known rock band amongst fans of the genre and they had been touring the United States with Erica, Boyd and Isaac since they were 18. They’d even done a couple of international tours. Stiles was trying very hard not to fangirl over them too much - especially since he had been their very first fan -.

"You HAVE to be there tonight, okay?" Cora had said.

Stiles had been half tempted to tell her he already had plans - he didn’t, but she didn’t need to know that - but something about her expression had convinced him to stay serious.

"Yes, Cora, I’ll be there." Famous last words.
