Comments: A dragon I bought four years or so back, when he was exceptionally cheap for a primal eyed dragon. Mostly got him as a challenge to myself to see if I could find genetics that worked with his rather random colours. He's lived in hibernal ever since. Recently I decided to dust him off, scatterscroll him to any more workable set of colours, and then regene him and find him a mate.
Only took five scatterscrolls to get colours I felt I could work with, and just in time for him to become an Auraboa (with the just-released rockbreaker gene as well), and go lurk in treetops with his fabulous wife.
He was named Silentkiller when I bought him, and his new name came about as a result of a chain of thought that can be summarized as Silentkiller → Psycho Killer by Talking Heads → Psycho Killer, Qu'est-ce que c'est → Psycho Quelle Heure → Quelle, and means (more or less) ‘What’.
Original Colours: Fuschia-Flaxen-Umber Scatterscroll #1 (2023-10-30): Blood-Spearmint-Stonewash Scatterscroll #2 (2023-11-06): Forest-Cream-Smoke Scatterscroll #3 (2023-11-13): Ginger-Royal-Yellow Scatterscroll #4 (2023-11-20): Ruby-White-Plum Scatterscroll #5 (2023-11-27): Tomato-Pumpkin-Terracotta

4. A community, especially a large one, needs a steady and reliable source of food. Where does you clan get its food? If they’re hunter-gatherers, what do they do when they can’t find anything?
There’s two different factions living in the same territory, and they both have different approaches to food.
The Rockbreaker Cult, the faction living in the cliff village, is rather small (at least at this point). They get their food from a number of sources. The majority of their meat is hunted, usually by leaders Ajra or Grax, since they have been living off the territory since they hatched. However, the cult also relies heavily on merchant groups that pass through (for food, as well as clothing). They make a habit of using every part of an animal, and drying and storing meat for later.
They have a small amount of veg that comes in through Oro’s attempts at farming. She works alone and has made use of the remaining desert farming techniques of the previous clan to live in the village. However, if there’s not enough rain or there’s a blight, they’re screwed. The cult does not have the best diets.
Alternatively, the Cerillos tribe, which lives out on the plains and originally built the cliff village, are well-versed in desert agricultural processes. Being all tundras, they only need plants to survive, and have enough land, know-how, and preserving techniques to support their village.
8. If they don’t trade, then how does your clan earn money? Tourism?
The Rockbreakers are big traders, living on top of a huge mine which has rich gem and mineral deposits. They do very well for themselves when merchant caravans come through.
The Cerillos do not trade as much, usually only with sibling tribes that are scattered far away. However, since they are largely self-sufficient, through both farming and shepherding, they do okay for themselves. Their people do not use traditional currency, making payments through actual goods or labor.
10. What’s fashionable in your clan? Talk about the clothing, hairstyles, makeup, accessories, ect.
The Rockbreakers tend to make fashions based around things that come out of the earth, since they have such few resources otherwise. Ajra sets the example by wearing armor and headdresses constructed of stones and crystals. Metal jewelry is less common, and their clothing items are usually undyed leather or linen. Animal furs are not uncommon.
The Cerillos tribe is more artisinal with their fashions. Shepherding is a major part of their lifestyle - they don’t eat the meat themselves, but they make a lot of use of wool. Weaving is an old and important tradition to them, and they weave kilts, blankets, and dresses. They dye the wool and make complex geometric patterns on their weaving, mostly using the colors red, brown, and yellow. They also make use of found feathers and terracotta jewelry and masks.
