Why You Should Totally Use an iPod (or Any Offline Music Player) in 2025 🎶📱
In 2025, streaming is king—Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, you name it. We all have millions of tracks at our fingertips, so why would anyone go back to using an old-school iPod or an offline music player? Well, as it turns out, there are some solid reasons why these classic devices still totally slap when it comes to music listening. Here’s why you might want to ditch the streaming apps for a bit and give offline music players another shot. 😎🎧
1. No Wi-Fi? No Problem! 🌍✈️
Picture this: you're on a plane, road trip, or out in nature with zero internet. No streaming, no buffering, just silence. That’s where offline music players shine. Download your favorite playlists or albums ahead of time, and you’re ready to vibe anywhere. No internet connection needed, and no annoying "Oops, something went wrong!" errors. Just pure, uninterrupted music. 🎶🚗
2. Your Battery Will Thank You 🔋💯
We all know how fast streaming drains your phone’s battery. You’re halfway through a road trip, jamming out to your latest playlist, and boom—your phone dies. But with an iPod or offline music player, you get hours of playback on a single charge. No more stressing about finding the nearest charger or watching your phone’s battery percentage plummet. One charge, and you’re good to go for days. ⏳⚡
3. Sound Quality = 🔥🎵
Okay, we know streaming apps have come a long way, but if you really care about your sound, offline players are still the way to go. Offline music devices, like the iPod, have top-notch audio hardware (we’re talking DACs and amps) that gives you clearer, crisper sound—especially if you’re rocking some quality headphones. So, if you’re an audiophile or just want your music to hit, offline players deliver a way better experience than streaming apps, which often compress the sound to save data. 🎧💯
4. No Distractions, Just Music 🚫📱
Let’s be real—streaming on your phone comes with so many distractions. Notifications, DMs, TikTok videos, emails... you name it. But with an offline player? You’re free from all that noise. You’re just there, vibing with your music. No checking Instagram between tracks, no stress about missing out on FOMO. It’s just you, your playlist, and your vibe. 🖤✨
5. Curate Your Own Vibe 🎶🎚️
Streaming services try to push their playlists on you. And sure, personalized mixes are cool, but if you’re not in the mood for the same old algorithmic suggestions, offline music players let you curate your music your way. Want a deep cut from your old school playlist? Or that indie band nobody else knows about? It’s all in your hands. Plus, you won’t have to deal with songs disappearing from streaming platforms because of licensing issues. You’ve got your own library forever. 📀💿
6. Nostalgia Feels 😍📼
There’s something special about using a vintage iPod or MP3 player. For Millennials, it’s a throwback to those simpler times when you carried around your 160GB iPod Classic (or the OG Shuffle) like a badge of honor. For Gen Z, it’s an iconic piece of retro tech that’s kind of cool again. It’s a throwback to the days before endless scrolling, when music was personal, tangible, and could be enjoyed without any distractions. Plus, it’s a vibe to scroll through your playlists on a click wheel or tap buttons instead of swiping on your phone. 🖤
7. No More Data Drama 📉📱
Ever check your phone bill after a month of streaming music on mobile data? Yeah, it's not fun. Offline music players don’t use any data. None. Zip. If you’re on a limited data plan or trying to save money, downloading music and enjoying it offline is a game-changer. Plus, it frees up your phone storage for memes, pics, and your other apps. 😂💾
8. Built to Last 💪🛡️
Want a device that can survive your gym workouts, camping trips, or just being shoved into your backpack every day? iPods and offline music players are usually way more durable than fragile smartphones. They’re designed for music lovers who want a device that can handle the wear and tear of an active lifestyle. And, with most models offering water resistance or being shockproof, you don’t have to worry about breaking it during your next adventure. ⛺️🎒
9. Perfect for Hardcore Music Lovers 🎤🎸
If you’re serious about your music collection, nothing beats owning it. Streaming services can be awesome for discovering new tracks, but owning your music means you’re not at the mercy of disappearing songs or playlist restrictions. Plus, if you’re into high-res audio, offline players often support FLAC, WAV, and other lossless formats that deliver real sound quality. For true music lovers, there’s just no comparison. 🎶🔊
10. A Break from the Digital Chaos 🧘♂️🌿
Let’s face it, we all need a mental reset from constant notifications, work emails, and social media updates. Using an offline music player lets you disconnect from the chaos. It’s a mini escape that’s as much about mental clarity as it is about enjoying music. Taking a moment for yourself with zero distractions is so refreshing, and music can be a serious mood booster. ✌️🌞
11. Streaming Prices Are Rising—Fast 💸📈
Here’s a big one: subscription prices for streaming services have been steadily increasing year after year. Whether it’s an extra $1–$2 added to your monthly plan, or the rise of more expensive premium tiers, streaming is starting to feel like an expensive habit. While you’re getting the convenience of endless music, the cost can quickly add up—especially if you’re subscribed to multiple platforms. With an offline music player, you make one-time purchases (or maybe just a small initial investment in a device) and keep your music library for life, without having to pay recurring fees. If you’re on a budget, or just want to cut down on unnecessary subscriptions, it’s a solid way to save some cash while still enjoying music. 💰🎧
Conclusion: Why You Should Consider an iPod (or Offline Music Player) in 2025 🎉🎶
In a world where streaming has taken over, using an offline music player might seem old-school—but trust me, it’s still cool and practical. Whether you’re sick of buffering, need better sound, or just want a more focused listening experience, offline music players give you that retro yet modern vibe. Plus, with subscription prices for streaming services continuing to climb, going offline could save you a ton of money in the long run. So, if you’re looking for better music quality, a longer-lasting battery, and a break from the distractions of daily life, grab an iPod (or similar device) and take a step back into the world of offline listening. You might just fall in love with music all over again. 🎶🎧

Album Review: Oasis "Definitely, Maybe (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)"
On August 29, 1994, Definitely, Maybe, the debut album from U.K.'s Oasis was released. It came out just as Britpop was making a splash thanks to bands like Pulp, Blur, Suede and Oasis (all one-word band names). It is hands down one of the best albums of the 90s. It came out a few months after Kurt Cobain's passing and the music world was ready for something new. After years of music groups bemoaning fame, here was a band that wanted to be famous and loved being rock stars, which seemed refreshing. As Oasis-mania swept the world, I actually got more into them in 1996, by which point they had oversaturated rock radio. I picked up Definitely, Maybe on CD and loved it. A lot of people say the best Oasis album is 1995's follow-up (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, which is quite good but isn't nearly as epic as Definitely, Maybe (later the name of a 2008 movie that I worked on too). Being released this Friday on the 30th anniversary (a day later) is Definitely, Maybe (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition).
original album cover
anniversary edition album cover
Through this blog, I've actually gotten to cover some Oasis releases including the 2021 live album Knebworth 1996 and the 25th Anniversary Edition of Be Here Now. Considering the band broke up in 2009, there is still an avid fan base wanting more compilations, live albums, documentaries and anniversary editions. The lineup of Oasis changed many times over the years but the heart and soul of the band has always been the brothers Gallagher: Liam on lead vocals and Noel on guitar and songwriting. Being in a band with your sibling can be both a good and a bad thing. I saw Oasis in 2000 and again in 2001 on the Brotherly Love Tour with The Black Crowes and Spacehog and the Gallaghers had the worst track records of in-fighting of any of those sibling bands.
the vinyl deluxe edition
After the band formed in Manchester, England in 1991 the lineup at this time also included guitarist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, bassist Paul "Guigsey" McGuigan, and drummer Tony McCarroll. This lineup was among their strongest. Easily! Disc 1 of this edition is the original album remastered. Every song rocks from the epic opening "Rock 'n' Roll Star" down to the acoustic kiss-off of "Married with Children". Disc 2 is the Monnow Valley versions (they first recorded at this studio and the sessions were scrapped, so you're hearing earlier recordings with these versions), Sawmill Studios outtakes (they recorded the album and Sawmill and these outtakes are ones that weren't used in the final recording) and an early 1992 demo of "Sad Song". The original album is a masterpiece and I don't use that term lightly. It was something that was truly of-the-moment: Britpop, Gen X, mid-90s and yet it was also retro with their Beatles' obsession not quite as overt as it would be on the next album, but also their love of Stone Roses, and yet it was also timeless. It's an awesome blast of Marshall amps in a melodic cocky made-for-arena sing-alongs! These new outtakes and alt versions don't really improve on the album, but it is kind of cool to hear the little differences of what it went from to what it became. Some are better than others, but it's short enough to enjoy what you're hearing as opposed to a box set with multiple takes of each song. We also haven't had any new Oasis music in over 15 years, which makes these unearthed versions seem more exciting than they'd normally be. As I was working on this review, news broke this week that Noel and Liam are reuniting with an Oasis tour in 2025 (no U.S. dates yet, but fingers crossed) and that proves how much these songs have stood the test of time!
For info on Definitely, Maybe (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)
Original album: 5 out of 5 stars
Anniversary Edition: 4 out of 5 stars

Tuesday, March 14: Tower, “Hired Gun”
Tower emerged out of New York City with their own take on retro metal: instead of aiming to recreate ‘70s hard rock or ‘80s thrash, the group attempted an unholy fusion of both. As a result, “Hired Gun” played like vaguely bluesy speed metal, with Sarabeth Linden hollering over frantic yet groovy riffing and drums. The tune got off to a slow start, but once the amps were cranked up things got rolling, and Linden especially was a powerhouse. There was a touch of Night Demon in here, but Tower’s unrehearsed energy gave the band its own sound even as they were liberally borrowing from a multitude of predecessors.

How to Craft Unforgettable Event Design: 10 Secrets to Wow Your Guests in 2025Why Event Design Matters Now Pulling It Together The Heart of It All Kickstarting Your Next Big Thing The Ripple Effect Your Turn: Wow Them Now Conclusion: Events That Echo Other interesting links Event Design How to Craft Unforgettable Event Design: 10 Secrets to Wow Your Guests in 2025 It’s Sunday, February 23, 2025, and I’m lounging with a notebook, scribbling memories of events that still linger in my mind. There was the backyard wedding with lanterns swaying in the breeze, the corporate gala where a surprise jazz band stole the show, and that chaotic festival I threw together with friends—duct tape and all. Event design isn’t just logistics; it’s storytelling with lights, sounds, and a little magic. Today, I’m spilling ten secrets to turn any gathering into a jaw-dropper. From themed event planning to audiovisual services, these tips will make your next bash unforgettable. Let’s create something epic. Why Event Design Matters Now Event Design In 2025, we’re drowning in noise—virtual meetings, endless notifications. People crave experiences that pull them into the moment. I’ve felt it: a poorly lit room kills a vibe, but a well-crafted event? It’s electric. Event design isn’t fluff—it’s the backbone of connection, whether it’s a wedding or a brand launch. These ten secrets blend creativity and strategy to make your guests say, “Wow, that was something.” Ready to dazzle? Here we go. 1. Start with Story Development: Set the Soul Every great event has a heartbeat. I once planned a 1920s-themed party—think Gatsby vibes—and the story drove everything: jazz, flapper dresses, even the cocktails. Why it works: A narrative ties it all together—guests feel part of something bigger. How to do it: Pick a theme or purpose—love, adventure, nostalgia—and build from there. Pro tip: Share the story early—invites, teasers. Our “speakeasy code” got folks buzzing. It’s the thread that weaves the magic. 2. Master Themed Event Planning: Immerse Them Event Design I crashed a sci-fi gala once—glow sticks, alien cocktails, a spaceship backdrop. Themed event planning turns a room into a world. Why it works: It’s immersive—guests escape reality. How to do it: Choose a theme (retro, fantasy) and go all in—decor, food, music. Pro tip: Details matter. Our “galactic punch” glowed—it was a hit. Make them forget where they are. 3. Nail Event Design: Paint the Scene A friend’s wedding had mason jars and wildflowers—simple, stunning. Event design is your canvas—every color, every prop counts. Why it works: Visuals set the mood. Ugly chairs ruin it; beauty lifts it. How to do it: Sketch a vision—lighting, layout, textures. Hire a pro or DIY with flair. Pro tip: Layer it—candles, fabrics, signs. Our jars doubled as lights—genius. It’s art you live in. 4. Rock Entertainment Production: Steal the Show Event Design I’ll never forget the guitarist who crashed our office party—unplanned, unforgettable. Entertainment production is your spotlight moment. Why it works: It’s the pulse—live energy shifts the room. How to do it: Book talent—bands, magicians—or set up a stage for surprises. Pro tip: Match the vibe. Our acoustic set turned a stiff night loose. Bring the wow factor. 5. Leverage Audiovisual Services: Amp the Senses A conference I ran had glitchy mics—disaster. Then we got crisp sound and visuals—night and day. Audiovisual services are your unsung heroes. Why it works: Sound and screens amplify impact. How to do it: Hire pros—projectors, speakers, lighting rigs. Test everything. Pro tip: Go big—a video montage of our team’s year had jaws dropping. Tech done right is invisible magic. 6. Create Flow: Guide the Journey Event Design I’ve been to events where folks milled aimlessly—awkward. Good flow—entry, action, exit—keeps it smooth. Our festival had signs and a clear path; chaos turned to charm. Why it works: It’s intuitive—guests relax, not roam. How to do it: Map it—welcome area, main zone, chill spots. Pro tip: Time it. Our “cocktail hour” flowed into dancing—seamless. It’s choreography without the dance. 7. Surprise Them: Spark Delight At a friend’s bash, a fire dancer popped out—unscripted chaos, pure joy. Surprises are event design gold. Why it works: It’s unexpected—memories stick. How to do it: Plan a twist—flash mob, secret guest, midnight snacks. Pro tip: Keep it simple. Our “sparkler exit” cost pennies, wowed everyone. Shock and awe, done right. 8. Personalize It: Make It Theirs I added a “memory wall” at a reunion—photos, notes. Guests lingered, teared up. Personal touches hit home. Why it works: It’s emotional—they feel seen. How to do it: Names on seats, custom favors, a nod to their story. Pro tip: Ask them. Our “favorite song” playlist rocked because they picked. It’s their party, your craft. 9. Blend Food and Theme: Feed the Fantasy Event Design A medieval feast I hit had turkey legs and mead—spot on. Food tied to your theme is next-level event design. Why it works: It’s cohesive—taste matches sight. How to do it: Match menu to vibe—tacos for fiesta, sushi for zen. Pro tip: Add flair. Our “wine flight” at a team building experience tied it together—check this site. Flavor seals the deal. 10. End Strong: Leave Them Buzzing A gala I planned ended with fireworks—literal bang. Strong closings linger. Why it works: Last impressions stick—make them golden. How to do it: Big finish—speech, show, send-off gift. Pro tip: Recap it. Our “highlight reel” video had folks cheering. Go out with a roar. Pulling It Together These ten secrets aren’t rigid—mix them. Love tech? Amp audiovisual services. Big on food? Weave in a tasting. I’ve paired surprises with storytelling and watched jaws drop. Know your crowd—corporate needs polish, friends need fun. It’s your vision, their night. The Heart of It All Event Design Event design’s personal for me. That wedding with lanterns? My sister’s—she glowed. The festival? My crew’s crazy dream, duct tape and all. In 2025, with life so rushed, these moments matter. They’re not just parties—they’re where we laugh, cry, connect. I’ve seen stiff suits dance and strangers hug. That’s the power of a well-crafted event. Kickstarting Your Next Big Thing Don’t wait—I didn’t. Here’s how to start: Budget: DIY saves cash; pros bring polish—pick your play. Team: Solo’s fine, but a crew (or team building) helps. First step: Dream it—theme, vibe, wow moment. My “Sip & Connect” at this site is a ready-made spark. One idea, and you’re rolling. The Ripple Effect Great events don’t fade. That gala? Folks still text about it. The wedding? A family legend. Event design sparks chatter, bonds, even team building if it’s a work gig. It’s not a one-off—it’s a launchpad for what’s next. Your Turn: Wow Them Now Tomorrow’s Monday, February 24, 2025—don’t let it pass blandly. Sketch that theme, book that band, light those fireworks. I’ve poured my soul into this because events are my heartbeat—they can be yours. Craft something unforgettable. Conclusion: Events That Echo The best events I’ve lived weren’t perfect—they were alive. These ten secrets—from story to send-off—turn gatherings into legends. In 2025, let’s ditch the ordinary and design the extraordinary. Your guests deserve it, and you’ve got the power to deliver. Let’s make them talk about it for years. Meat in Space - Tangerine (Indie Rock)
🕑 2 min / Text: Adrian Release Date: 07/12/24 Blending powerful alternative rock and grunge with roaring guitars and a vintage distortion sound, 'Tangerine' is the latest release from Meat in Space, a talented California-based act you won’t want to miss. Even though some songs are pretty folky, the new five-track EP delivers a captivating and dynamic sound, brimming with energy and intensity. It feels less like a polished studio recording and more like the raw, electrifying experience of a live concert. The noisy sound evokes so many beautiful memories and associations for me: classic reel-to-reel tape recording, spring reverbs, retro amps, and demo cassettes. All I can say is that this EP delivers exactly the kind of indie vibe I love. You can check out the preview below. Dreaming of Citra - Bitter (Indie Rock)

Outdoors: We are right next to the Ozark National Forrest, Beaver Lake, the Buffalo River, White River, Mulberry River, Devil’s Den state park, the Ozark Highlands Trail (218 miles through seven counties), caving, rock climbing, hand gliding, scuba diving in Beaver lake, and countless more to do. There is an excellent paved trail system that stretches from south of Fayetteville to the Missouri border with lots of parks and side trails along the way. Everywhere you turn there is hiking, biking, canoeing, geocaching, etc. Enough to never be bored. Community: Excellent Farmer’s Market, lots of community outreach programs, excellent public schools and some great private ones also (or so I’ve heard) Events: We also have lots of events in our area: Bikes Blues & BBQ, Joe Martin Stage Race, First Thursday (every first Thursday downtown), Fayetteville Foam Fest (Local Breweries, Food Trucks, Lots of Beer), War Eagle Crafts Fair, Block Street Block Party, NWA Naturals baseball games, Tri Sport Kid’s Triathlon, Fayetteville Roots Festival, Lights of the Ozarks, Ozark Valley Triathlon, Halloween Monster Dash, Color Vibe 5K Run, Primal Challenge.

ah 10:34 am GMT+1. perfect time to rate each flstudio plugin ive ever used
rating is based on: personal subjectivity, effort it costs to use, and number of times ive actually used it
-non native instruments- (all these are free btw)
"Accordion VST" ★☆☆☆☆ self explanatory. got it around 1 or 2 years after i started making music for lofi songs. i couldnt get it to sound like i wanted n blend in well with the other instruments so i only used it a couple times. im thinking of trying it again messing around with filters since at the time of use i didnt know how to do that
"Revitar" ★★★★★ acoustic guitar plugin, sounds very folk. absolutely adore and also the very first plugin i got. since my version of flstudio didnt have any acoustic guitar plugins. can be tuned to sound like a shamisen <3 revitar loads poorly in my experience (just doesnt open on boot/loading it) but i always manage to get it to work eventually and its so good i forgive it.
"DSK Dynamic Guitars" ★★★☆☆ classical guitar plugin. got it i think like 5 years ago bc i wanted a guitar plugin that wasnt revitar. not perfect but does the job.
"DSK Overture" ★★★★★ iirc second plugin i got after revitar. it's a plugin for orchestra type instruments. i think i got it bc i wanted a violin. this plugin is amazing as it does many many instruments n i do use most of them. also some "instruments" are actually combo presets. you can set 4 of instruments to play at once (including the combos) which is ideal to mix them and get interesting sounds. absolute fave.
"EasternONE" ★☆☆☆☆ another versatile plugin i got early on when i started music. it does several instruments (though not as many as DSK Overture) among which: aud, accordion, santur, kaman, etc. kinda like accordion vst i used it a few times but not that much. also have a hard time blending the sounds with other instruments in a satisfying way. it does sound way more real and less digital then other plugins.
"NES VST" ★★★★☆ plugin for retro nintendo shape sounds: square, triangle, noise. perfect for that electronic sound and easily tunable <3 loses a star bc requires some work to fit effectively with other instruments.
EDIT: I FORGOT MINI ERHU!!!!!!!!! here it is:
"Mini Erhu" ★★★★★ self explanatory: erhu plugin. has several presets to instantly get different ways for it to sound. mixes very well with other instruments. absolutely perfect i love it so much. its just a sound i love. makes my music sound so weird since i mash it with other instruments in like electronical music etc and yea! idk how to make normal music! anyway its only dramatic downside is that the range is abysmal. otherwise so good.
-native instruments- (came with my FLstudio 12 version fruity edition - bc im fruity and its the shit tier of the paying versions.)
"Boobass" ★★★★☆ very classical bass that fits most modern sounding songs. a lil bland for my taste but perfect for not emphasizing bassline too much
"FLKeys" ★★★★★ // ★★★★☆ piano synth plugin. used to be perfect but in my version it broke so i can only use the shittier presets and i have to tune it every single time i use it. does not save presets. does not let me use my fave setting which was the grandpiano one </3 never got to work normally again.
EDIT: I also forgot FLSlayer OTL here it is
"FLSlayer" ★★★★☆ electric guitar plugin for rock or metal. very versatile for bass, rhythm guitar or solo guitar sound. it comes with a bunch of different "amps" also. just pretty good. dramatical downside is that it takes forever to tune to get the exact sound you want and mix it with other instruments.
-native filters-
"Fruity limiter" ★★★★☆ it's a limiter. always on by default and i never thought to turn it off. have no opinion on it.
"Fruity Reeverb 2" ★★★☆☆ a reverb plugin, fun to play around with to make the song sounds like its in a big orchestral room or something. i cannot be trusted to use it responsibly so ive stopped using it altogether lately.
"EQUO" ★★★★☆ another limiter, very versatile to give interesting shapes to sounds. i use it to get kind of a retro, desaturated sound. very much love.
there. hopefully this gives some insight about how i fully use FLStudio to almost 1% of its capacity. good nite.
also i did not elaborate on drumlines plugins thats bc i broadly dont care about drumline so much so i have way less of an opinion on them. i use most of the native plugins + DSK Overture for the drumline
#lodia sayings#love to ramble.#also drop which plugins you use if you want. n infodump about them. this is how i love to hear about new plugins.#if that isnt clear im a neophyte with 10 years of experience composing music.#music tag
