If I had a nickel for every time my ship danced at a high school reunion that wasn’t theirs I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

My Grimoire Research Library
this is a list of my major resource I've referenced/am currently referencing in my big grimoire project. For books I'll be linking the Goodreads page, for pdfs, websites and videos i'll link them directly.
There are plenty of generalised practitioner resources that can work for everyone but as I have Irish ancestry and worship Hellenic deities quite a few of my resources are centred around Celtic Ireland, ancient Greece and the Olympic mythos. If you follow other sects of paganism you are more than welcome to reblog with your own list of resources.
Parts of my grimoire discuss topics of new age spiritualism, dangerous conspiracy theories, and bigotry in witchcraft so some resources in this list focus on that.

Thank you <333 Everyone is so loveable 😭 I'm so glad you added Hutton cause I vaguely remember him playing in a few games but the lip sync video is sooo funny
One last batch of questions if you're up to it cause I adore how you describe everyone <3 looking at the roster I think the last guys left are Barbie and ammo? (the funniest nicknames 😂) and guys like Dorofeyev, brisson, and jiri patera but I think they might fall under the Henderson duckling group?
also if you don't mind, I keep seeing patches and Reilly smith pop up when I scroll thru himbeaux's blog. I've heard a lot about marc andre fleury before but I didn't realize how many other ex-players were also so beloved! I'd love to hear about any of them if you have the time
There are actually a couple I haven't talked about in depth, but Hertl & Hanifin have only been on the team since the trade deadline. I don't know probably more about them than you do.
So, here's the list of current roster guys I'm gonna touch on: Ivan Barbashev, Michael Amadio, Pavel Dorofeyev, Brendan Brisson, Brett Howden, and Jonas Rondbjerg
and the traded guys I'm gonna talk about: Marc-Andre Fleury, Reilly Smith, Max Pacioretty, Robin Lehner, Ryan Reaves, Erik Haula, and Dylan Coghlan.
Now you see why I was like "I don't know if I can do it all in one ask" - because not only is team chemistry defined by who's there currently it is SO informed by who's been there.
These blurbs are probably gonna be shorter, because there's (counts) 14 of them.
That's many. And there are some that I don't know a whole bunch about. That's truer for some than others.
Ivan Barbashev Traded to VGK at the trade deadline in 2023. Learned about the trade at the same time as his wife (she screamed in the other room). was very excited to play with petro again, since they're good friends. got headbutted by LT and was very cute about it. his little face when jack yells He's actually just. giggly in general. he was part of the 12 Knights of Giving and was VERY VERY cute about giving ppl their groceries for free. his face on this save is REALLY CUTE. He fell off the bus during the STL parade. this supports my theory that he's made of like. variable density. it's impossible to knock him over and yet he is SO fast and agile? it's fucking wild.
Tumblr media
he's got really good taste in sunglasses
Tumblr media
2. Michael amadio: UNDERRATED!!!! i love Ammo. based on getty, i think either he and nic roy have very similar schedules or ride in together bc they are almost always in walkin photos together. i'm just now finding this out.
Tumblr media
I don't know a lot about him, because he's very quiet, but he's got really nice eyelashes and his face looks very soft. even his beard. even his voice is soft & deep. he seems really nice. just a cool room guy.
3. Pavel Dorofeyev: Dorothea!!!. Ok so this is not his actual nickname. I call him this bc when Dave Goucher says his name on the broadcast it sounds like Dorothea. And when Dave had Laryngitis, and he said his full name, it truly sounded like he said "pebble dorothea." this is his name in my head.
Dorothea is SO cute. He looks like a Tall Bitty to me, and i can't get that out of my head.
I know that's not very informative, but that's just.
Tumblr media
true.
when Brendan Gallagher busted his teeth in, alec martinez picked them up and carried them to him. Dorothea is one of the HSK guys, who are the closest.
4. Brendan Brisson - son of famous agent Pat Brisson. babysat by Sidney crosby. Umich guy. lots of ppl know more about him than me. always wants to tuck himself into a hug. this is very funny hwen the other guy is shorter than him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
lots of people who followed him at umich know more about him than me, i'm sure.
5. Brett Howden: Bread!!! Just a sweet young manitoban guy. Childhood friend of nolan patrick went through Tampa & New York before coming to Vegas. changed his play style to play with Mark. Was part of the 2018 WJC team, but hasn't been implicated in any crimes :(
Grabbed Marchy by the jersey and yelled "we did it we did it" when they won the cup
Jonathan Marchessault followed up with him after and said "oh i had to tell you, when i had my vision of winning the cup, we weren't wearing the white (away) jerseys. we were wearing the gold ones"
indicating that??? Marchy??? has prophetic visions?? and shares them with brett howden???? what the hell is happenign here i love this so much. (seriously this video has SO MUCH. keegan kolesar kissing marchessault on the face SO MUCH. jack and marchy beign sO romantic about Marchy's conn smythe win "I did it for - you did it for me." / "that's the best thing i've ever seen" and all the i love yous. I just. love them)
6. Jonas Rondbjerg - Ronny is just a really sweet, quiet HSK guy! he's not the main roster, so when he gets called up, he hangs with the guys he knows. He was best friends with Jake Leschyshyn before he got traded to the NYR.
Tumblr media
Notable Guys who've been traded
Marc- Andre Fleury - found out he got traded on twitter. Known prankster. Everyone loves him, excellent but aging goalie who is going to retire after 24-25. After retirement, he's moving back to Vegas to live during the non-summer months. If he hadn't been a goalie, probably he'd have been captain. I love him so much and he tried to fight jordan binnington while he was on the Wild.
Reilly Smith - OG Golden Misfit, traded to VGK with Jonathan Marchessault. Jonathan Marchessault said of him that he was relieved when they got drafted / traded that wasn't scared to go to a new place bc he would know somebody. And when Smitty joined VGK for their White House Cup Visit, Jonathan said in the interview after "Everywhere he is is home a little bit"
Reilly started the Battle For Vegas, a charity baseball game during the summer, which is a great time which Jack Eichel took over since Smitty got traded. Said "What a time to be alive" with an absolutely blasted voice while on the ice right after they won the cup.
Max Pacioretty - Traded to Vegas after doing frankly a nuclear option with his prior agent (switching to Allan Walsh on draft day) because talks with Montreal had gotten so bad. was SO happy to be in Vegas. When Stone was traded in February, was kind of worried bc they'd been such rivals during their time in MTL & OTT respectively. but they were almost immediately complimentary of each other. They were best friends. Patch says that he knew, almost as soon as Mark came in that he was gonna be the captain. Which is WILD. Bc it had been almost 3 season without them having one. but Mark is their captain. He was right.
Ryan Reaves - is a GREAT room guy, and a WONDERFUL guy off the ice. Loves a prank. ate spicy chocolate. He's done B4V a couple of summers (he did it last year iirc) and it's just. Really sweet. A lot of these guys just. really really bonded for life during that first year, you know? I know that Belly is still friends with a bunch of the OG Misfits, and so is Reavo (he was pumped to play on the wild with flower, for instance). Reavo said that when mark stone fought tomas hertl that "Those hands aren’t made to fight; they’re made to dance. They’re supposed to be soft." basically "I'd rather they let ME do the fighting, their hands are meant for better things" like. ReAVO MY GUY. UGH.
i love him
Erik Haula - Another guy who does B4V, got traded to the Canes (who mistreated him) and is now with the Devils (who love him). Is still best friends with Karly.
Dylan Coghlan - came to VGK in the Erik Haula trade from the Canes system. Was VERY VERY good friends with the younger guys, Haguer, Roysie, Whitecloud, Keegan, Howden, etc. Went to a concert with Jack, Haguer, & HOwdy/ Also still does B4V and excels at it. Is a defensemen, but when we didn't have any forwards, filled in. I would know him by his teeth anywhere (very distinctive). adorable.

Hi! I’m a long-time listener of Driver Picks the Podcast and I finally got around to watching Leverage along with this pod. I honestly wasn’t sure I was going to because I knew almost nothing about the series except that it probably wasn’t my thing.
So, this pilot episode was a delightful surprise! I didn’t even realize the premise was a ragtag group of strangers committing Robin Hood-esque heists which is 100% my thing. It’s all so very 2008 in a way that really works for me in the way of nostalgia. Beth is right in that this pilot is A LOT but I was totally along for the ride and was able to follow along pretty well.
(I will say the only thing I was vaguely aware of was Eliot being a fan favorite and the prevalence of the Hardison/Parker/Eliot ship within the fandom with which I am already fully on board)
As requested in the pod, I am going to rank the characters favorite to least favorite only having seen 2 episodes 😭
1. Hardison: Aldis Hodge is great and I’m a real sucker for “the guy in the chair,” although I love that he’s also very active in the sort of play acting as well. I think my favorite moment is when he’s playing the FBI agent and leading Eliot to cop car. So good.
2. Parker: I can already see the immense potential for development in her and it’s so exciting! She’s an agent of chaos in the best way.
3. Sophie: she’s the character I knew the least about going in and she really surprised me! Her grift is always both satisfying and entertaining. I also find her to be incredibly hot 💕
4. Eliot: I saw someone else say that he is the most emotionally intelligent member of the group and I have to agree so far. Definitely looking forward to learning more about him. Also, I adore his little glasses! I’m glad that this style is starting to make a bit of a comeback.
5. Nate: so I expected to hate him, partially because I have a bias against some of Timothy Hutton’s previous roles lol, but he seemed like a pretty blah character from what little info I did have. While he’s still ranked last I didn’t hate him at all. He’s kind of the lynchpin here which is fine and necessary but he’s giving me the least to work with at the moment. I really loved the moment in the alley with Sophie where we see him really flustered for the first time. I really thought the Sophie/Nate thing would be uninteresting to me but I’m actually very intrigued by their past (and the flashback was excellent).
all that to say I actually really enjoy every character so far in a way I wasn’t expecting!
The thing I most look forward to is seeing the development of the group and the dynamics therein. 5 characters and 5 seasons gives us plenty of room to explore that. And despite having a trauma bond with Supernatural, I could see Leverage being much more my thing funnily enough. So thanks for the recommendation!
Okay your takes are so valid and I am honestly so honored that you have decided to follow us across to Leverage and my funny silly little goofy show that I love with all my heart. I hoped that I might inspire someone to watch the show and I'm so happy that we can act as your guide to accompany your first time watching.

Crown My Heart
Summary: After Regina rescues Snow White from the runaway horse, she becomes engaged to King Leopold. However, he quickly learns that Regina is less than thrilled with the arrangement. So he sees a chance to strengthen Mist Haven’s ties with a neighboring kingdom, and proposes that Regina marry the new king of Sherwood. This time, though, the decision is entirely in her hands and she agrees to the arrangement.Regina arrives in Sherwood already carrying a dark secret. While she and King Robert—often just called “Robin”—have an immediate connection, she learns she will be Sherwood’s first foreign born queen and the court is already suspicious of her because of that fact. Can she prove herself to her new people and will her secret affect her marriage to a man she falls further in love with each day?
Chapter 1: FFN | AO3 | Wattpad
Chapter 34: Preparing for Trial
FFN | AO3 | Wattpad
Excerpt:
"I thank you for coming to this emergency meeting," Robin said, greeting his council as they took their seats. He reached over and took his wife's hand. "I have also asked Queen Regina to join us as well. I trust no one has any objections?"
He made eye contact with each member of his council as they all said they raised no objections to Regina's presence. Robin felt some tension leave his body but not all of it. Not with the topic they needed to discuss now.
"Last night, I was informed that Lord and Lady Ellis have been captured and are being returned to Locksley," he announced.
Gasps filled the room. Lady Robertshire pressed her hand to her mouth as Lord Hutton nodded solemnly. "When are they expected to arrive?" he asked.
"No more than three days," Robin replied, feeling Regina's fingers tighten around his. No doubt she was nervous about facing the couple. Lord Ellis had burst in on her while she was in a state of undress and Robin was away from the castle, accusing her of infidelity and carrying another man's child. Meanwhile, his wife had gone to extraordinary means to try to prove Regina was a witch – only for it to backfire on her. They had to be the last people she wanted to see and he hated that she would be forced to be in the same room as them once more.
"That would be during the Harvest Festival," Lord Jonstone noted. "Do we want such a spectacle?"
Lady Robertshire opened her mouth but Lady Wellingsbury held up her hand. "Don't you dare say 'They are one of us' again. Please."
"But they are!" Lady Robertshire protested. She then turned to Robin. "You aren't going to parade them around like you did your cousin, are you?"
"No," Robin replied, certain of that fact. "I don't want to give them any more attention."
Lord Hutton nodded. "I think that is a wise decision."
"I agree," Lady Wellingsbury replied. "I know we are eager to have the Ellises back here in Locksley to ensure they don't run off again but I would advise not bringing them here until after the Harvest Festival."
"Where would we keep them then?" Lord Jonstone asked.
Lady Robertshire raised her hand. "I could keep them in my house. Treat them the way they deserve."
"You sound like you would treat them like honored guests," Regina said, her hand tightening around Robin's. "They are traitors."
"Her Majesty is right," Lord Hutton said as other members of the council glared at Lady Robertshire.
Lady Robertshire frowned. "They have not been convicted of treason."
"Yet," Lord Jonstone said. "I think we all agree that the trial is just a formality at this point."
"I think we should keep them in Fort Nott," Lady Langston suggested. "Yes, it's a few days away from Locksley but the distance will ensure they can't escape and enter the city as well as give us time to prepare following the Harvest Festival."
Robin had to admit that was a good solution but did not say so out loud just yet. He glanced over at Lady Wellingsbury, who looked impressed as well which reassured him that he was not alone. It was likely that Lady Langston's suggestion would pass even with Lady Robertshire's inevitable objection.
He looked next to his wife, squeezing her hand to draw her attention to him. When her eyes met his, he asked: "What do you think?"
"I think that is a reasonable solution," she said. "We know they will be guarded and then they can be brought into the city once everyone is gone. No fanfare, no attention. They will seethe."
"I agree," he declared, looking back at his council. "All in favor?"
Almost every hand went up around the table. Only Lady Robertshire kept hers down as she stared defiantly at Robin. Once the names of those in agreement were recorded by Will, sitting behind him and Regina, Robin held Lady Robertshire's gaze as he asked: "All opposed?"
She raised her hand and he heard Will note it behind him. Robin then nodded. "Your objection has been recorded, Lady Robertshire. However, you are outvoted and so we will hold the Ellises in Fort Nott."
"Will they be held in a cell? Or will they be given rooms?" she asked him, frowning as her eyes kept flickering toward Regina.
"I think you know the answer to that question," Robin replied. "Nothing you say will change my mind."
Lady Robertshire sniffed. "This is disgraceful."
"Is there any other business to be brought before this council?" Robin asked, deciding not to acknowledge Lady Robertshire's comment. When no one else spoke, he nodded. "Then this meeting is adjourned. Thank you."
The first one to leave was Lady Robertshire. She stood and walked out without saying a word to anyone else. Everyone waited until the door closed behind her before standing as well. They all wished Robin and Regina a good night as they filed out of the room.
Lady Wellingsbury remained seated, adjusting to look at Regina and Robin better. "You two handled that brilliantly," she said. "Bravo."
Relief filled Robin as he leaned back in his chair. "Thank you."

Got this through the post today - The Stations of the Sun by Ronald Hutton! I'll be posting about it as I read it. What do other people think of it?
As someone who does Morris dancing and has a minor obsession with Robin Hood I look forward to reading this chapter:
Tumblr media
I've always been interested in what Ronald Hutton says when he pops up in history documentaries on the TV over the years, why has it taken me this long to start acquiring and read his books? Well it ends now! I've got another book coming in a few days, and I have my eye on one or two more.

I voted! The hoiho (aka yellow-eyed penguin) got my first vote last year, too-- something about their combination of apparent social anxiety and raucousness really speaks to me. Loudly.
Tara iti (aka fairy tern): I mean, they had me at Aotearoa's rarest bird. I don't want species to disappear, and if a bird getting a boost from voting helps, then thanks, I'll vote for the little buddies who are in particular trouble.
Karure (aka black robin): ahhhh little goth songbird! How cute are you?? Also I find their song charming.
Kaikōura tītī (aka Hutton's shearwater): per Forest & Bird, a substantial amount of this species' population died post 2016 quake. Also they have a daily commute from the mountains to the sea and back, and as someone who spends three hours each workday on transit and on foot getting to and from my job, I respect that.
Kakī (black stilt): that plumage! That spearlike beak! Those striking orange legs! That journey back from the brink of extinction!
Anyway: I am not going to tell you how to vote, just letting you know voting is open.
