Location: The Library Bar, The Rittenhouse Hotel, PhiladelphiaDate of Visit: August 30, 2024 Tam and I arrived at The Library Bar around 8 PM, excited to explore what this spot inside The Rittenhouse Hotel had to offer. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this wasn’t your average bar. The hotel itself is a beacon of luxury, and the bar, nestled on the first floor, was easy to find with…

Abigail Spencer and Goran Visnjic in Timeless (2016)The World's Columbian Exposition
S1E11
Wyatt and Rufus are desperate to rescue Lucy, whom Flynn kidnapped to attend the 1893 Chicago World's Fair in order to kill Rutherford seniors Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and J. P. Morgan. Following them, Wyatt and Rufus get trapped with architect Sophia Hayden and a guest named George Henry in the World's Fair Hotel, run by sadistic serial killer H. H. Holmes as a trap. At the fair, Lucy and Flynn force Harry Houdini to break into Edison's office to plant a bomb, but Houdini outsmarts Flynn, who can barely escape. Houdini and Lucy save Wyatt and Rufus at the hotel, where Lucy realizes that "George" is Holmes just as she is captured, but Wyatt saves her by killing Holmes. The trio returns to the present. Rufus records a threat to Rittenhouse and hands it to Mason. Wyatt gets a phone call from Flynn, revealing Jessica's killer and suggesting Wyatt tries erasing his existence.
*Holmes' quote, "I was born with the devil in me," is an actual quote attributed to the real H. H. Holmes when he confessed to his murders.

Of all female sins, hunger is the least forgivable. Hunger for anything; for food, sex, power, education, and even love.
Full Name: Nisa Ozturk
Age: 30 Date of Birth: August 8th
Gender & Pronouns: Female, She/Her
Occupation: Art Acquisition Manager
Neighborhood: Rittenhouse
; the biography.
trigger warnings: cancer mention, death mention
Emmett Dubois — a wealthy man. One born of privilege and a silver spoon in his mouth whilst he looked onto the world in admiration and appreciation. From a young age, he had been spoiled rotten, but alas, he was no stranger to hard word and dedication, his father had come from nothing and in turn worked his ass off for where he and his family were currently at. With his grandfather building his own hotel within their home of Paris, France, it had become a huge success. People from all over becoming tourists to the beautifully designed and welcoming environment. It’s design classic and glamorous, appealing to those with heavier wallets and bank accounts; but of course, there were availabilities for smaller and more affordable rooms, as he believed everybody should have the chance to visit his hotel; The Dubois. An obvious reason behind the name choice, and in turn, he knew that the hotel business was going to be passed down through generations, which it of course was; later passed down to his son, Emmett. It was pre-established, and there was no real choice in the matter, though he was more than happy to take over, ensuring he was ready when the time came, taking business courses and anything that could assist him in the running of the empire his father was handing over.
Things seemed to have escalated over night, and rightfully so considering the hard work put into running a successful hotel. Within ten years, there was another few hotels popping up around France, and Europe as a whole, winning a few acclaimed awards in the hospitality business. Between himself and his father, it was no surprise really, one more modern at the time, and one taking old fashioned traditions and customs, giving them an amazing middle ground. Throughout most of his life, he had managed to focus solely on that of his father’s empire and growing this into something he could be proud of on his part too, but alas, he had not anticipated falling in love in the way that he had. Deeply and intensely to the point he would’ve given it all up for her if she had asked. A simple feat considering what was at stake if he had lost her. Alas, that was never in the question, and in turn, she had accepted him for all he was; even if it was a workaholic at times. However, there was one downside to their happy ending. His now-wife, was told she would be unable to have children. So, with the devastating news coming at a lonely time for the woman, the family recently moving to the states to help pursue the land of the free, it was then she considered adoption. However, upon her travels, she met a guest at the new hotel, who had moved all the way from Turkey, and she had a young daughter of only 2 years old. The pair became like family. Her friends daughter much like her own at this point. Unfortunately though, things took a dark turn, with her friend, Sabiha, developing cancer, which would ultimately cost her her life. And, what did that mean for her daughter, Nisa? Well, in her will, she was left to her newfound family. Jenna and Emmett.
It was never part of the plan, and to say it was difficult at first was an understatement. But, Jenna was told she was never able to have children, and here was Nisa, already a daughter to her, needing a family. She had nobody else. Sure, she wasn’t her blood, but what did that matter? It had taken a bit of time to fall into some routine, but eventually Nisa opened up to the idea, despite the grief taking a toll at first glance. Now, Emmett, on the other hand? Not quite as receptive to the idea. Still hopeful he would have his own child one day, who would eventually then take over the ‘family’ business, which as the next few years progressed, would become a tense relationship. But, just to complicate matters? A miracle happened. Jenna became pregnant, and the news threw the family into chaos and joy all at once, Nisa now four years old, and just settling into the new-found family life. So, now she was going to have a sibling? But, a sibling with whom was actually a blood relative of the people she considered her parents. Thankfully, with her young age, she was mostly excited at the prospect of another child running around.
Upon the birth of Jaxon, the parents were thrilled; Emmett not only ecstatic with his newborn baby, but knowing that he would have someone to help him with the family business in the future. And, with the hotel chain just building in success, and the newfound family that was now complete, it was no surprise that the Dubois’ felt on top of the world, really. Unfortunately though, Emmett’s father then passed away, leaving him the entire empire in which they had essentially built together over the decades. There was more pressure than ever to continue the high stakes and build the dynasty further, which was hopefully going to be passed down onto one of his own children, though Emmett had always had his eyes set on his son taking on that ownership, something he generally made fairly obvious over time. Jenna, however, would do her best to assist in their relationship. She was the glue holding them all together, and the last thing she wanted, was for Nisa to feel as though she wasn’t a part of their family. No matter how she got there, she was her daughter. Their relationship eventually becoming one of the most integral parts of the young brunette’s life. Whether that be in attendance of parent evenings, helping her get ready for school dances, or ultimately helping to direct her to a path for her future that would make her happy. One that she credit’s Jenna to wholeheartedly. Yes, she had the means and the trust fund to set up shop and life in Bali for the rest of her life, or wherever she so pleased, but it wasn’t in her make-up. Perhaps that came from that of her mom, Sabiha? Either way, she would work her ass off throughout her education, to secure herself her own future.
As the years pressed on, Nisa found her place in life. Most of which revolved around charity work, particularly where it came to orphaned children, something she felt she related to. Yes, she landed on her feet, but that didn’t mean she didn’t imagine what life could’ve been, if she was able to grow up with her mother. Not to mention she had no idea who her father was. But, whilst she had a great passion for charity work of all kinds, it wasn’t necessarily her career. It was obvious she wasn’t meant for the hotel business, nor was Emmett keen for her to take it over, despite her initial desperation to prove him wrong. But, she didn’t see the use in fighting him on the matter, and instead decided to pursue a career in art acquisition, eventually owning a gallery where she helped to showcase artists and locate new talent, helping to push new opportunities their way. And this is where she took great direction from Jenna, with whom was an artist herself. Growing up, she would always use Nisa as her model, for portraits, or inspiration of any kind. And due to this relationship with her mother, she decided to stay put in Philadelphia, where her family also resided, considering it was the first location in the United States they brought The Dubois to fruition, though, nearly thirty years later, they’ve got locations all over the country.
; tldr.
Her mother yeeted her to the United States when she was just a toddler, where she stayed in a hotel owned by a rather well-off family called ‘The Dubois’, the family by the same name. It was their first hotel in the U.S., so they were taking the time to get to know the guests, so much so that her mother, Sabiha, and the wife of the owner, Jenna, became incredibly close.
Becoming somewhat like family, the two women inseparable, it was a tragedy when they were faced with a loss. Nisa, now four years old, lost her mother, and in turn was left in the company of the Dubois family, based on the will of her mother, whom didn’t have anyone else in her life. Luckily though, she’d already had a particularly strong relationship with Jenna at the time, it was her husband, Emmett, that she struggled with.
Before becoming responsible for Nisa, Jenna was instructed she’d be unable to carry a child herself, meaning she was more than willing to take the girl into her care, perhaps her only chance to have a daughter. However, life took a turn, and after such a tragedy, they were faced with a miracle. A child. A brother for Nisa on the way.
Emmett was CEO of the chain of hotels The Dubois, meaning there was a lot of financial means and responsibility on his plate, and in turn, he was adamant he wanted to leave his business in capable of hands should the need arise. However, he did not consider Nisa to be the most dependable, and admittedly, she was always adamant it was due to the fact they were not related. She was not really his daughter. In turn, he also had a biological son now to take the reigns.
Growing up, she had the ability to take it easy and probably survive off their financial gain, however, it wasn’t in her make-up, and instead she decided to make the most of her education, going to college and passing with flying colours, before eventually seeking a career as a Gallery Owner/Art Acquisition Manager. It was more her speed, especially considering art was something she and Jenna bonded on over the years. The woman very much a mother to her now.
Perhaps it was the complicated relationships in her life, but it’s always been something she herself has struggled with. In any given format, not even necessarily romantically inclined. Though, she did have the bright idea to get involved with a married man. @frankcarlisle to be exact, so there’s that bombshell.

I love old clocks. And strangely, the last time I stayed at the Club Quarters Rittenhouse Square I somehow didn’t see this old clock that was right in front of the hotel. (I don’t know how I didn’t notice it before; but the trip was super truncated — in comparison to previous trips — and I didn’t really have a ton of free time either.) Yes, it was accurate.

Went on Instagram to see what ppl from my highschool were up too nowadays. It was pretty normal until I reached an old friend I used to be pretty close with and on their story they were posting Pro-Israel, turning point USA, and Kyle Rittenhouse propaganda. Went to block them and when I turned the instagram story I saw Genshin Impact yuri and Hazbin Hotel yaoi. I will send them my hospital bill for the massive amount of whiplash I received that day.

6 months to go! Here's a quick FAQ. If you have any questions we don’t cover here, shoot us an email at [email protected], which we’re both checking constantly!
Where and when is the wedding?
Our ceremony and reception are both located in Bryn Athyn, PA, a nearby suburb of Philadelphia about 30 mins from Old City (Liberty Bell) and about 45 mins from Center City (Rittenhouse Square).
The ceremony will be at 4pm on the afternoon of Saturday, November 4th, with a reception to follow from 5 to 11pm. For anyone coming in early, we’ll have a gathering spot for welcome drinks Friday night, and for anyone leaving Sunday, we’ll have bites for breakfast at the hotel to say goodbye–and that’s the weekend!
Ceremony: November 4th, 2023 at 4pm at North & Southampton Reformed Church (1380 Bristol Road, Churchville, PA 18966)
Reception: November 4th, 2023 from 5 to 11pm at the Cairnwood Estate (1005 Cathedral Road, Bryn Athyn, PA 19009)
Where should I stay?
We have a block of rooms at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Horsham Willow Grove, very conveniently located about 15 minutes driving distance from each of the venues. Booking through this link provides a preferred rate of $169/night for a king room and $199/night for a double room. We’ll have transportation from this hotel to the venues and back on the day of the wedding.
While the Homewood Suites is the most convenient option to the venues, you might opt to stay in Philadelphia proper if you want to make a longer trip out of the weekend. Let us know if you need recommendations and we’ll send you a few!
A large convention the weekend of the wedding is driving up prices at hotels in town, though, so be warned!
If you're interested in a vacation rental, Airbnb and VRBO both have presences in the area. There are also more hotels half an hour north in the very cute town of New Hope, PA.
(If you need someone to split a hotel room with shoot us a text and we'll try to matchmake!)
How do I get there?
Philadelphia is the closest major city with convenient transportation options. Here are some suggestions for getting to Bryn Athyn:
By air:
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is the closest airport to Bryn Athyn, about 40 minutes away by car. From the airport, you can rent a car, take a taxi or rideshare service, or take the SEPTA Regional Rail out to the area and bridge the last few miles with a bus or rideshare.
By train:
Amtrak and SEPTA both offer train service to Philadelphia's 30th Street Station, which is about 30 minutes from Bryn Athyn by car. Once you’re at 30th Street you can rent a car, take a taxi or rideshare, or take the SEPTA Regional Rail out to the area and bridge the last few miles with a bus or rideshare.
By car:
There’s plenty of parking at all venues.
Let us (or any of our delegates, lol) know if you have any trouble planning transportation!
How should I plan to get around?
We will provide a shuttle service the day of the wedding between the hotel, the ceremony venue, and the reception venue. If you need to move around elsewhere or at other times, there’s plenty of Lyfts and Ubers around–it just might take them a little longer to get to you. Having a car definitely gives you the most flexibility in the area, if that’s what’s most important to you.
Lots more information to come, but hopefully this gives you a sense!
Love you all,
Elisia and Ellie

He didn't respond for a while at first, just blinking as she entered his car. Finally he said, "H-hey." His voice was lower, almost timid. "U-uh, ya need a ride ta the hotel on Rittenhouse Ave?"
Sergio was always a "business first" sort of cat, but while in the past he operated under a strict timeline, now he seemed...avoidant to discuss anything that would upset him. It wasn't a healthy way of dealing with his trauma, but it seemed all the progress he made in his recovery had all vanished...

The unfamiliarity of Philadelphia wasn't helped by the fact it was raining, hard. The case had stalled slightly today on a technicality; apparently the 'proof' they had on the case wasn't as concrete as they first believed back at HQ. Moreover, Carmelita's partner Rae had flounced out on a date the moment they'd wrapped up for the day.
Who manages to get a date within twelve hours of being in a new city?
They'd only been deployed yesterday afternoon, sent on the first evening flight out of Paris. Rae had announced her intentions as soon as Carmelita dismissed her, and well before she'd had a chance to ask if Rae wanted to join her for dinner. It now appeared that Carmelita's night would consist of room service and the routine feeling out of place in a new city. Ironically, it was a familiar feeling of unfamiliarity, and what really rubbed salt in the wound was that she didn't have anyone to call anymore when these thoughts bubbled to the surface.
She knew her hotel address, but the rain made it difficult to make out a route on foot. Sighing, she leaned against a storefront, shielding herself from the downpour, to order an Uber. She tapped in her hotel details and watched the cursor slide back and forth, supposedly searching for her ride.
