Jem's death :)

A/N: I am sorry to anyone who reads this and cries like I did when writing it. This is all @rhosyncymreig 's and my fault, her fault for reminding people of Will's death every chance she gets, my fault for being super petty and wanting payback. What I failed to realise was that this would hurt me in the process. Super rushed and ig kinda shitty. Proceed with caution.

Word count: Almost 500

Tessa remembered feeling this way before. The pain, although muted all these years, was still fresh in her mind. How could a person ever forget what it felt like to have loved someone so greatly and to have lost them? How could a parent ever forget what it felt like to bury her children?

She was lucky, though. That much she knew. She had had two great loves in her life and she had spent full lives with both of them. That was more than a lot of people could say.

Still, her only thought while Jem was on his deathbed was that her heart was being ripped out and shredded to pieces in front of her eyes once again. She saw him, his face, as handsome as ever at 250, she saw his smile and all the love in his eyes, the same as Will's had held for her. She saw the sadness and the longing there, and the memories of their life together flashing behind his eyes. She would lose her dear Mina in just over a year and the pain from Jem's death would still be too fresh in her mind to think of anything else.

Tessa would think, in the days prevailing Jem's death, of Will. And Jem. Her Will and her Jem, both of whom she had loved and both of whom she would now lose. She would think about Will's eyes and his smile and his Welsh accent that would sometimes pop up every now and then due to exhaustion. She would think about how Jem's hair was silver, and then black and then silver again, and lastly white. She would think about how kind Jem was, even when no one else would be. She would think about Jem's violin and Will's books, and all her lost friends and children. She would think that someday, the only physical proof that her two loves had existed and loved her and that she had loved them, tremendously, would be the bracelet on her wrist and the jade pendant around her neck.

She remembered how Jem had been there when Will had died, how he had held her in his arms while she cried, her heart broken beyond repair at losing her first love. She would think about their faded parabatai runes and how they had loved each other through all the years that separated them. She would think about all of these and she would hope that Will's spirit was somewhere with them when Jem died, just like Jem had been there for him. She would remember all of their lives together in the days to come and hope that her love for them was enough to keep her alive.

And here you are now laying on the couch in the living room, watching whatever Netflix has suggested you and by yourself. The boys are in the house too, but doing their own things.

But out of nowhere, your ears catch a weird noise coming from the back of the house. At first, you don’t pay too much attention to it and go back to lazily stare at the tv. But then it starts again, going for a bit longer. Intrigued, you mute the tv and listen carefully to identify the origin of this sound.

Girl. I am just as bitter as you. It was really cathartic to read your take. I was never in a fandom and barely on tumblr when I started following VM blogs when they announced the comeback. I’d been a fan since Vancouver but was totally scared off by the toxicity on the FSU boards and that basement children blog that I won’t name. Who knew things would get so much worse.

I’ve also lurked for most of my time on here. For me, at first it was fun to read the timelines and see the fun stuff VM did. But it soon became clear to me that this was turning into stalking (let’s not pretend it’s anything else), and I’ve been very disturbed ever since. Unlike your other anon, I stepped back faster, but it didn’t help. I did a purge soon after the 2018 Olympics and I still see the toxic stuff.

I don’t blame Tessa or Scott for interacting or not interacting with fans online, and it’s not their job to verify that the people who compliment them aren’t the ones harassing them, but it takes a special kind of evil to suck up to VM online or in person and then turn around and do the vile things people in this fandom do. And then if VM speak up in their own defense or set boundaries on “fan” interactions they are thin skinned. It is gaslighting of the worst order.

God I forgot about the blog that shall not be named, to think it's been running for over a decade is one of the wildest things about this fandom. But yeah, to be in a fandom that has that notorious blog and ending up with that not being the worst thing to happen as part of it - yeah I never would have guessed it was even possible. And you are right, it was stalking, it was legit worldwide stalking that happened by different people on different countries, it's so fucked up I don't even know what to say about it. I'm glad you stepped back fast, as I said I basically did two purges, one right after the Olympics and another one at the end of 2018 and both were the smartest decisions I could have made.

I agree about TS and their interactions with fans, even at the time they had no idea that the people who came up to them during all those m&g or approaching on the street for a random photo are some of the worst people in the fandom. There's one ig user Tessa often reposts from that I have no doubt Tessa has no idea how awful that person been on twitter about them and how much horrible things she said about her and Scott. And as you said, the fact that those people can anonymously rip them apart in public for months if not years and in between approach them as loving fans is vile.

I will always believe that one of the reasons they decided to skip m&g (aside from it being very difficult when touring by bus) is not wanting to interact with the EXTRA kind of fans anymore. I think by the end of 2019 they've had enough of that.

So Maia just got killed and Sebastian is back. That's a cheesy line. How would they be able to invite you to the wedding if they thought you were dead. Not that they would anyway. Clary is sacrificing herself for everyone. All these misspellings though, well it was my first story on here and I never edited it and I wrote it on my phone. That was short af. Well my original word count was 500 but later in the story I am pretty sure I switched it to my current 2000.

The incest plotline though, *throws up* I was trying to continue the idea of Sebastian thinking that the bloodline had to be pure. And Clary's pregnant. Jace's pov, the language was the worst in this story. Clary pov. Sebastian wants to make another demon child. Trama. Sebastian is a vampire but a new breed. Mark of Cain?

So we are starting this chapter with Trama warnings. Jace is blood thirsty and I don't blame him. This is the cringest this I've ever written and that's saying a lot. Clary made a run to hurt him. It can't be that easy.

Sebastian told Jace that was pregnant. Jace just cut of his head and he's still alive? These 500 word chapter get annoying fast.

Threatening Alec for Magnus to put up wards. That's one way to do it ig. You want the Infernal Cup too? Now he only wants Jace and Clary there.

Not much happened in this chapter but Sebastian raided Clary's closet from the Insitute.

Overall I am happy I discountinted you. It is a horrible book and I am embarrassed by it to be honest. This is my first book on wattpad so I think it's pretty normal but it wasn't my first piece of fanfic. My first work was on Fanfic.net but has since been deleted by the website. I don't know why it wasn't bad at all it was more fluff than anything. But I have decided that I am going to post this and then I'm going to take down the story in a month. I failed to put trigger warnings, failed to edit (to be fair that was back when I did all of my writing on my phone before I had am actual laptop). But I did have some good ideas when it came to the traitor part and Sebastian finding love and I deem this story on crack. So my final rating is a 2/10.

I am so sorry to lump you together into one post like this, I understand that you are individual people with individual opinions discussing individual topics. That being said, although I don’t find your individual speculations or opinions or speculations problematic (especially you first anon, you’re doing fabulously), I am having a bit of trouble answering you because I don’t know anything.

Is it possible that Kat is an evil mastermind attempting to rip Tessa and Scott apart? Is it possible that Tessa and Scott secretly hate each other? Is it possible that Scott is sleeping with one of the girls on tour? Sure! It’s possible! I have no way of knowing. However, I generally find that (even as a generally pessimistic person) such thinking, even if it is purely speculation, causes me to have a terrible time in this fandom.

Ok, I’m going to get real meta on you for a quick minute. I think, as humans, it’s natural for us to want to be certain of everything. We hate the fact that we don’t know what the hell we’re doing half the time (or at least I do, the rest of y’all probably have your lives more figured out than I do). And that sort of need to always be sure of oneself I think can maybe manifest itself in other parts of one’s life (including fandom). I obviously am in no position - nor would I ever want to be - to tell anyone how they should be stanning, however, I think that it can sometimes to be important to remember that not knowing everything is completely ok. 

As much as I’d love to know what’s going on between them as well, I also suppose that it’s critical to respect their decisions to release the information they want about their personal lives. We may never know if they ever were, are, or will be romantically involved and as much as that thought can be frustrating, it’s not something we have any control over so we’ve gotta let it go. Take care of what you can control in life, let go of what you can’t, it’s healthy. 

(I promise I’m not telling you to leave the fandom, just take a couple breaths, I’m sure things will work themselves out in time)
