Riddhima Kapoor Sahni to make London Fashion Week runway debut

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni will make her London Fashion Week runway debut, opening the show for ace British fashion designer Helen Anthony. This is the first time the influencer and Indian jewellery designer is set to walk the runway on an international stage. Riddhima will open the show wearing her own creations as well as Anthony's. "I've always been proud of the shows I have walked for in India, but I'm excited and nervous, this is the first time I will be walking on an international platform, that too at London Fashion Week. I have two looks for the show, but they are both surprises, I trust Anthony completely, so I can't wait to see what they are like," says Sahni. This show is set to be held on September 19, 2022, at the Parckcro in London, and will feature Riddhima X Punjab Jeweller's exclusive jewellery paired alongside Anthony's clothes. Both brands collaborate to bring to life the great design legacies of their respective regions and to enable a craft exchange on this globally renowned platform. This is also the first time the jewellery designer will be presenting her creations to a global audience. "The show is themed around East meets West and this collaboration is very close to my heart. It has taken numerous zoom calls planning this, among both teams, and I'm glad we are on the same page. My collection titled 'Samara' is inspired by my daughter, it is a confluence of the East and West, it has a mix of contemporary pieces as well as polki and diamond statement designs," adds Riddhima. On the runway, a plethora of jewels crafted using age-old techniques such as kundan polki, jadau, minakari, and others will be showcased. Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt wedding - Talk of the Town

Alia Bhatt tied the knot with Ranbir Kapoor on Thursday - 14th April 2022 in Mumbai at Ranbir's Pali Hill residence which was the Vastu-based venue for the wedding. The wedding was attended by Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Shaheen Bhatt, Soni Razdan, Rahul Bhatt,, Mahesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Kareena Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Karan Johar. Akash Ambani, Sweta Bachchan, and many other big names of the film industry, as well as celebrities, also joined the ceremony amidst the wedding dance.

The couple held their pre-wedding Bollywood Sangeet ceremonies on Wednesday. Ranbir hosted the Mehendi ceremony and Haldi ceremonies at Pali Hill home. The rituals were attended by Karan Johar, Karisma Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and Karan Johar. Alia Bhatt's veil grabbed everyone’s attention as it was made by a well-known fashion designer. It had a message on it that stated the date of the wedding, "The fourteenth April 2022."

Alia Bhatti and Ranbir Kapoor were married in a fairytale marriage. Close friends and relatives attended the intimate ceremony. Alia Bhatt can be seen in the numerous photos and videos of the cake-cutting ceremony.

Alia wore an ivory organza sari hand-dyed with fine tilla work and a handwoven tissue veil. It was paired with traditional Jewellery, which has uncut diamonds and hand-strung pearls. Uncut diamond earrings and a necklace were worn by Alia. Both her hands were covered in bangles, and Mehendi. Alia's mangalsutra had black beads and a golden chain. A teardrop-shaped diamond pendant was also included with the infinity symbol. 

Ranbir Kapoor wore an embroider-white silk sherwani made with uncut diamond buttons and silk organza, as well as a silk sofa and scarf.

This is one of the most awaited weddings of the year and the couple looked beautiful with everyone enjoying the wedding dance, Bollywood sangeet, delicious food, and the religious wedding ceremony. We wish all the blessings and congratulations to the newlywed.

William Shakespeare said, “It is a wise father that knows his own child.” Believe me, my father knew his children in and out.

Growing up in what they call the first family of Indian cinema, my father, despite being Rishi Kapoor the actor, was just the way any father would be to his kids. In the Kapoor household, I saw my father play myriad roles. He was a dutiful son, a caring brother, a doting husband and above all a selflessly loving and dedicated father.

The family man

When I was born, the family says he vowed that he would not only be the perfect father to me, but also be a friend to his kids. Owing to his extremely busy schedule and back-to-back shoots, my father was never the parent who escorted us from activity to activity, but his spirit, his influence, his character and the value system of our household that he and my mother nurtured in us, were invaluable to my brother Ranbir and me.

My father’s world revolved around his family. He shared a fabulous bond with his siblings and he averred that family ties are the most precious ones and should always be cherished.

Besides spending time with my mother, Ranbir and myself, it was sacrosanct for him to spend time with my grandparents, uncles and aunts. Whether it was the mandatory family lunches or dinners, the Sunday movie dates or watching the Indiana Jones film series, we would work our schedules around it and ensure all of us were together for each other.

Food for thought

People who knew him are well aware of how much he loved his food. My father, like me, was an ardent foodie. We loved Chinese cuisine. Whenever I visited Bombay, dad would ensure there was Chinese food from my favourite restaurant every day. And we would keep up the tradition of playing rapid-fire word games at the dinner table, the way we did when Ranbir and I were children. Dad would keep Ranbir and I on our toes right through the games and then announce the winner in his particular dramatic style.

Among the many things we learnt from our superhero, dad taught us to be fair, humble, kind and independent. My father professed that besides being a warm-hearted, caring, loving and nurturing human being, one must know how to express oneself and speak one’s mind fearlessly.

He isn’t around anymore, but his spirit and teachings will forever dwell in my heart. We were literally identical people and shared the same sun sign, so my connection with my father was undeniably a very special one for me. Besides being my dad and my superhero, he was my best friend, my greatest mentor, my motivation and my deepest roots. His unshaken and perpetual belief in me and my limitless potential always empowered me.

Rumours of a rivalry between Kapoor cousins Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Karisma Kapoor have been around for over a decade. The rumours became strong when the two cousins were absent in each other's wedding.

Now, the latest reports suggested that Riddhima is all set to enter into a partnership with Karisma's ex-husband Sanjay Kapur's new wife Priya Sachdev.

A leading daily quoted a source saying, "RK’s sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahani has tied up with Karisma’s ex-husband Sanjay Kapur’s new bride Priya Sachdev. Riddhima will be selling her jewellery designs on Priya’s portal, Rock N Shop. The two Delhi girls admire each other’s work and are bonding well on the business front.”

However, when we contacted Riddhima for her reaction, she said, "It's not a collaboration or partnership, please let's not make it controversial. People write a lot of nonsense, ignore it."

Well, we believe this should end the speculations.

Karisma's ex-husband Sunjay Kapur tied the knot with his girlfriend Priya, last month in a low-end wedding affair. Sunjay and Priya were dating for five years and it is said that they both helped each other during their traumatic divorce proceedings.

In the meanwhile, Karisma is rumored to be in a relationship with Mumbai-based businessman Sandeep Toshniwal. The two have been making several appearances together and Sandeep has even been a part of many Kapoor Khandaan festivities, including Karisma's father Randhir Kapoor's 70th birthday bash. Both Karisma and Sandeep are yet to confirm their relationship, however.
