Crazy Maria Hill Theory

Spoilers for episode 5 of secret invasion.

So what is Rick Mason is actually Maria in a widows veil. This might seem crazy but let me explain.

To catch people up, Rick Mason is the man who helped Natasha in Black Widow and Nick Fury in Secret Invasion. He is an international smuggler and independent contractor. He has helped both Natasha and Nick Fury evade the authorities.

In episode 5 of secret invasion Nick Fury was shown using a widows veil. Him and Sonia have a whole conversation about it and how there is a newer one that can mask the whole body. I believe this was not a one off, but intentional.

Now for the theory,

What if Rick Mason is actually Maria Hill? Fury and Natasha seem to trust him and they are not trusting people. It would make a lot of sense for Fury and Natasha to trust Maria. After shield fell she could have easily worked for Stark while also helping behind the scenes. Maria now has a new identity where she can help while still working for Stark. Or if you read my other post here She could be using a widows veil to change her appearance. I explain the fact that Secret Invasion "killed" her by saying that it wasn't actually her, it was a Skrull and now that Rhodey is is Skrull it makes it more plausible.

I get that this is a massive stretch but I am looking for any way to prove that Maria is alive.

I was not expecting to get a Rick Mason a.k.a the agent cameo in secret invasion. Honestly it seems like alot of people forgot about him. That's how you know he is not a skrull because even the skrulls probably forgot about him lol.

But it's good to see O-T Fagbenle reprise his role none the less. This actors are very important and help bring life to these characters.

Maria Hill Skrull Theory

Spoilers for Secret Invasion.

What if Maria Hill has been a skrull since before Infinity War?

Multiple times throughout the post credit scene for Infinity War Maria referred to Nick Fury as Nick, something he said no one does. This could mean that she is a Skrull. Now that we know that Rhodey is a Skrull this could be more likelly. The one detail is how long he has been a Skrull.

This would mean that Maria might not be dead, the casket we saw in esisode 2 has less meaning now that we know Rhodey is a Skrull. What is real Maria is actually Rick Mason, that you can hear more about here. She might not even know that a Skrull has impersonated her.

I get this is a major stretch but I just want Maria to be alive.
