How long is your longest snake? What is their name?
I believe the longest snake I have is my Rhino Ratsnake. His name is Wasabi and he's 2 years old. I havnt measured him officially but I believe he's more than 3 feet long right now.
And then Here is a baby photo I took when I first got him.

Im rarely home at this hour on a sunny day, so it was a nice surprise to find Tipsy basking in the natural sunlight coming through the window. He seemed to enjoy it, up until I burdened him with my presence.. sorry Tipsy 🐉

🐍🦎Meet the new babes...
We adopted 2 new babies this weekend at the Sacramento Reptile Show. We had such a blast and the weather was beautifully autumn 🍂
On the left is our new Rhino Ratsnake. He's a bit shy still but hes loving how much room he has now to climb, even if he still just in quarantine lol.
And on right, we adopted a mate for Norbert! He is such a sweet heart. I was trying not to spook him on his first day home so I tried to leave him alone so he could get comfy in his new space, but he had none of it and decided that my sweater was a much warmer spot for now lol. Hes a Tango Crush, Pacific Green Emerine line. If anyone was interested in knowing his genetics lol.
We dont have names yet! But we've narrowed it down to Ghoul or Soul for our little gecko and we've been calling our snake Servine until we come up with a permanent name for him 😂

REPTILE COLORING BOOK PRE-PREVIEW!
So the coloring book is definitely still in the planning stage (especially the financial aspect / goals) but I have come up with the list of reptiles that are going to be included! This will get long so I’m going to put the list itself under a cut. Please check it out though! I’d love to hear feedback or suggestions before the drawing process begins! (It’s probably going to take me several months to get high res digital renderings of each, plus the stretch goals, covers, and stretch variant covers). Depending on the goal reached, there will be 250 physical copies for the initial run. Every stretch goal unlocks additional copies and a variant cover, in addition to new coloring pages! Each page will feature a unique plant species found in the same region as the snake/reptile! Each page will display the common and scientific names of the species included, on the back of each page will be a fact about the snake and/or plants. Some pages include multiple species or multiple drawings of the same species in order to explain mimicry, sexual dimorphism, different locals / naturally occurring morphs, or used as a teaching tool to distinguish similar looking animals. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions!
BASE GOAL: 32 PAGES OF SNAKES!

whats your 15th favorite snake?
before today I did not know. the short answer is the Cape Cobra.
the long answer is before today i did not know because i don’t think I was aware of 15 different types of snakes. although you didn’t say like, what’s your favorite species, you just said snake. so i looked up a bunch of cool types of snakes and read a little bit about them and then i made this list and originally the honorable mentions held positions 2, 7, and 18 respectively. i was picky about the order.
List of most favorite snakes
1. Formosan odd-scaled snake (I am a dragon this iswhat my scales would be omg)
2. Tiger keelback (they do the cool poison thingfrom eating frogs)
3. Bush viper
4. Boomslang
5. Birtney’s albino Burmese python friend Banana(also because happy python mouths are cute)
6. Sidewinder
7. Gaboon viper
8. Green long one – vine snake? Asian Vine Snake (Ilooked it up)
9. Indian cobra
10. Rhinoceros viper
11. Grey banded king snake
12. Corn snake
13. Black tailed rattlesnake
14. Rhino ratsnake
15. Cape cobra
16. Brazillian rainbow boa
17. Red milk snake
18. Black mamba
Honorable mentions
The one getting licked by the golden retriever
Scaleless snakes in general they weird me out but I want topet one they’re cute
Jesse’s arbok from the show not the trading card
this was a fun question to answer and i saw so many cool snakes and some scary ones lol

Hi! I recently went to a reptile shop and I saw a Rhino ratsnake. I think it's super fracking cute and had a basic question... Is it a good first reptile type pet?
Hi there! The very short answer to your question is: Nope! The less short version is that rhino rats, Rhynchophis boulengeri, are an old world rat snake species from Vietnam. Most old world rat snake species are in the intermediate-advanced category as they will need larger enclosures with more precise heat and humidity ranges than, say, a corn snake. You’re going to need an arboreal vivarium with abundant room for climbing, high humidity, lots of hides, and high-quality equipment for monitoring and maintaining heat, lighting, and humidity. They don’t do as well as other species on a diet of nothing but rodents and may need alternate feeders or a carefully-restricted diet. I have heard anecdotes of these snakes pulling some outrageous Houdini-style escapes from locked enclosures, too.I am firm of the belief that almost any reptile can be a first reptile if you are adequately prepared, you have done all of the research, you are ready to invest in the necessary equipment and have it assembled and tested before bringing your pet home, and you have an experienced mentor to lean on. the rhino rat snake is no exception to this and can be successfully kept by a beginner, but it’s certainly not what I would call a good first reptile pet. At best it’s going to be an expensive, high maintenance, usually hidden, and not especially rewarding first reptile pet.I recommend doing some research and learning as much as you can about them. Even if you determine that they’re not the right choice for you right now, learning new stuff is still hella cool!

Oo I’m diggin’ the set up! How is the fishy liking it?
Are those live plants you got in there? We’re currently building a paludarium for our rhino ratsnake and I’m trying to learn more about aquatic plants. If you have any info or recommendations, I’d love to hear about it!
