Renault R17 Electric Restomod x Ora Ito, 2024. A restomod 1970s R17 coupé that has been given a 270bhp electric drivetrain related to the e-PT-200kW which will power future electric Renaults. The new power source drives the car's rear wheels as opposed to the front drive of the combustion engine original. The concept has been created in partnership with French designer Ora Ito and will be presented at the Paris Motor Show in October

Renault has unveiled its latest electric restomod, a reinterpretation of the iconic Renault 17 fastback coupe from the 1970s, created in collaboration with French designer Ora ito.

This one-off show car, coated in an exclusive Galactic Brown finish, brings the original car's sporty essence into the modern era. Powered by a 270-horsepower electric motor, the new R17 maintains many of the original's design features, such as the distinct door structure and side louvers, but with a wider body and advanced carbon fiber chassis to reduce weight and improve agility.

The cabin had a more dramatic transformation, with materials like Merino wool and bouclé fabric elevating the classic seating design while introducing modern comforts. The dash, steering wheel, and screens retain a nostalgic charm but have been thoughtfully updated with sleek, geometric forms

The sun is wondering why this is a car and it's electric but they made this car at renault's and it looks like this they modified it a little and it looks awesome there's a ton of these in France and there's a ton of the AmEx in New Zealand Australia there's a bunch of them here not as many no there's many more of these and they're sitting in garages and sheds under tarps and the frames probably fine to the body but the engine's ruined and it needs some seals and stuff the seals would be ruined but really everything else would probably be mostly intact you see 80% of them have what you need everything the glass the body and you just change it up a little you don't need to make it look this great but they look pretty good and the engine you make electric and people make the evil version yeah with lithium you put in a 10 kilowatt motor with transmission from a air conditioning fan and it will go 300 miles an hour with the right fairings there's a lot of wide body kits out there for this some of them are very good they'll start it up again with electric it's going to fly all these old cars are going to come out of the woodwork now you can change them to electric or buy a new motor with the big ones they can make mid engine it's a very simple process you cut the roof off to chop it people know where to chop it doesn't matter where but you're really you chop it to the level where you want it and you put the roof back on you have to modify it and usually a modify the rear and then you put the motor in you have to do the transaction work first you connect it directly to it with the existing transmission a lot of them are rebuilt tons of people going to do this it's an awesome idea of course you pull the seats out all of them and you replace them with something different the way around 600 pounds and you replace them with two seats that weigh a 200 lb and you have some room and you have a whole front end with room and it's ways to lower it you lower the car and it's pretty low and yeah these kids work sometimes for real like you see and it's very awful but it's something they can do there's diamonds everywhere and it's a lot of work but they get paid and have places to live right now they show them just breaking and walks up but okay not really sure enough it looks like a special rock he thinks for making fires and that's what it is but it says it's probably worth something else it is it's good for stuff computers maybe so he checked into it and it's what it's for so he started to sell tons of it to these guys makes a lot of money
