O GRUPO RENAULT CONTINUA A CRESCER NOS SEGMENTOS CRIADORES DE VALOR

As vendas mundiais do Grupo Renault atingiram 1.133.667 automóveis no primeiro semestre de 2023, um aumento de 13% em relação ao primeiro semestre de 2022. Na Europa, as vendas do Grupo aumentaram 24%, num mercado que cresceu 17%. A marca Renault registou um crescimento de 12%, com mais de 772.000 automóveis vendidos no primeiro semestre de 2023. Na Europa, a marca Renault aumentou as vendas em 21% para as 503 242 unidades, voltando ao pódio como a segunda marca mais vendida e a número um em França. As vendas da Dacia aumentaram 24% para mais de 345 000 unidades, no primeiro semestre de 2023, graças ao sucesso da sua gama de automóveis. A Alpine também confirmou o seu crescimento: com mais de 1.800 automóveis vendidos e um aumento de matrículas de 9%. Os últimos seis meses foram marcados pelo sucesso do lançamento de duas edições limitadas: o Alpine A110 San Remo 73 e o Alpine A110 R Le Mans.

A estratégia comercial do Grupo, orientada para a criação de valor, continua a concentrar se nos canais mais rentáveis: a venda a clientes particulares, as versões topo de gama e o segmento C. A quota das vendas a clientes particulares representa 65% nos cinco principais países europeus do Grupo. As vendas a clientes particulares representam mais de metade das vendas da marca Renault, na Europa.

A Dacia ocupa o 2º lugar no mercado de clientes particulares europeu, com um aumento de 29% em relação ao primeiro semestre de 2022. Com 138.978 unidades vendidas, o Dacia Sandero aumentou 23,5% em relação ao primeiro semestre de 2022 e continua a ser o automóvel mais vendido a clientes particulares, na Europa.

No segmento C, na Europa, a marca Renault registou um crescimento de 42% em relação ao primeiro semestre de 2022, graças ao sucesso do Arkana, do Austral e do Megane E-TECH 100% Elétrico:

O Grupo Renault prossegue a ofensiva na eletrificação:
As vendas de automóveis de passageiros eletrificados da marca Renault aumentaram 18%3, representando agora 37% das vendas de automóveis de passageiros da marca, na Europa. Os automóveis totalmente elétricos representam 11% das vendas de automóveis de passageiros, na Europa.

O Dacia Jogger Hybrid 140, que está à venda desde janeiro de 2023, já representa mais de 25% do mix de vendas. O Dacia Spring, totalmente elétrico, vendeu mais de 27.000 unidades, na Europa, no primeiro semestre, e continua a ser um dos automóveis elétricos mais vendidos na Europa.

A carteira de encomendas do Grupo Renault, na Europa, no final de junho de 2023, representava 3,4 meses de vendas. Manter-se-ia acima do objetivo de 2 meses ao longo do ano, mesmo com um mercado em queda de 30 %, quando comparado com 2019.

Is Geely the Chinese company helping Renault with the Twingo EV?
Western auto media is currently full of stories that a Chinese partner is helping Renault produce an electric Twingo car due to go on sale in 2026 in Europe priced below 20,000 EUR (21,700 USD). Currently the Chinese partner is unknown but the two most likely candidates are either Geely or Dongfeng. – Advertisement – Development of the all-new Twingo is being led by Ampere. This is a separate company within Renault set up in late 2022 with the aim of designing, engineering and producing electric cars for the Renault Group. The first model resulting from this is the Renault 5 EV. Interestingly at about the same time that Ampere was established Renault signed the Horse project JV with Geely to develop ICE and hybrid powertrains. This recently resulted in the creation of Horse Powertrain Limited on May 31, 2024 as a 50:50 owned company between the two partners. – Advertisement – A Zeekr X electric car being driven on a test drive in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Geely Panda mini EV on display at the 2023 Shanghai Auto Show. However, this is not the only cooperation between the two companies. In 2022 Geely acquired a 34% stake of what is now known as Renault Korea, a company which started life as Samsung Motors. Under the agreement with Renault there is collaboration dedicated to bringing fuel-efficient Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) models to the South Korean market as well as for export sales. Cars produced by Renault Korea will use Geely’s compact modular architecture (CMA) along with taking advantage of Geely’s hybrid powertrains. The existing relationship between the two companies is probably the strongest evidence for the Chinese partner in the Twingo project being Geely along with Ampere and Horse being initially announced around the same time. Furthermore Geely has expertise in smaller EVs, not only does it have its own micro EVs like the Panda but also has worked with Smart to create the Smart #1 and created its own Zeekr X car. – Advertisement – The other main contender is Dongfeng with whom Renault had a joint venture until 2020. Dongfeng continues to produce the Dacia Spring which initially debuted in China as the Renault K-ZE and was subsequently sold in China as the Venucia e30. However, Dongfeng given the continual decrease in Renault involvement seems less likely than Geely. Also the only small EV that currently appears to be part of the Dongfeng line up is the Nammi 01. The Renault City K-ZE production version unveiled at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show. Twingo development The Chinese partner has been embedded in the development process of the electric Twingo since inception and is not the result of breakdown of talks on the project with Volkswagen. Development is being undertaken in France with the electric Twingo due to be produced in Europe. According to Autohome a project insider said “The development of the car will be done together with the Chinese partner to reduce the development lead time and costs.” Renault has previously said the car would go from concept to production within two years. What are energy efficient vehicles?
The following are considered energy-efficient vehicles, the purchase of which is encouraged: • vehicles category L 1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6, L7 with electric drive, • M1 category vehicles with electric, plug-in hybrid drive or hydrogen drive, • vehicles of categories M2, M3, N1, N2, N3 with electric, plug-in hybrid drive, compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LPG) or hydrogen powered vehicles.
With the adoption of the European law, the sale of new gasoline and diesel motor vehicles will be prohibited from 2035. This leads to the goal of Europe becoming the first carbon-neutral continent by 2050. Accordingly, the EU is taking measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from cars, since in the EU road transport accounts for a fifth of CO2 emissions.
The most requested energy-efficient vehicle in 2022 was the Renault Twingo Electric with 258 registrations. Right behind the electric Twingo is the Dacia Spring with 169 registrations. For them, HRK 70,000 or up to 40% of the net price of the vehicle could be obtained.

P.S. The Dacia Spring, July’s best selling BEV, shows that EV market is price sensitive, and the real market winner will be the first one to create an affordable EV suitable for the mass market. The good result achieved by MG4 in France is pleasing. This electric hatchback puts real competitive pressure against legacy OEMs' ICE vehicles. This by July, the MG4 ranks 5th in the French electric car market with 5,187 units sold, ahead of the similarly sized Renault Megane E-Tech and VW ID.3...
