Alright--with the impending Snowmageddon in the southeast US, I just had to deal with an office full of girlies in the northern US who JUST CAN'T BELIEEEEVE how big a deal the weather is for us in the south.
I don't want to hear a PEEP from y'all about WOW THIS IS A NORMAL DAY IN WINTER FOR MEEEE! Sister, we don't have the infrastructure to deal with this kind of cold and snow. When pipes, electricity, and roadways get fucked up, people can and will DIE. Check your attitude and instead, offer helpful tips, or keep your pikachuface-based snark outta your mouth until we're through to spring.
The jet stream doing weird bullshit like this is the new normal with climate change being what it is. Put up and help out, or kindly, shut up, and keep your thoughts to yourself.
EDIT: And to my southern fellows affected by the cold and/or the snow: Please be safe. PLEASE be safe. Here's some links that might help y'all:

I have a heinous sunburn, my tailbone region is bruised and abraded, my stomach issues resolved after 800mg of anti-dysentery pills, I have a newfound and passionate appreciation for hot water and paved roads, and we finally made it back to the city today. This was probably one of the most unwise yet exhilarating things I've ever done in my life. Also I saw more yaks.

Me: Hmm, I'm definitely gettin better, but I feel like I need another step, I should go back to X rank and try to push things
X rank: Teams that are hellbent against cooperations, too busy arguing over who's leading, always gotta have one, or two, people screamin "This Way!" at every given opportunity, even when nothing is happening, overly punishing loses, minimal gains, forever stuck in the lower levels, etc. :3
Me: [Stares into the camera for an uncomfortable amount of time] Welp, by golly

YOU WRANGLE COWS????? do tell me more
Sometimes but always unofficially! It's part of my job only so I can to certain sites and get data/measurements/etc. Cattle get into areas of certain allotments or fenced regions (usually a spring) and you have to round them up and them out to do whatever it is you need to do. It's all on foot since that the only way our crew can do it, no horses or roping if that's what you're thinking (I'm shit at roping and even worse at on horseback.) Wrangling is sorta a catch all term for getting up and moving cattle along.
The only reason I do it often is because it's the only way to get to certain sites I need to be able to do my job. I'm something along the lines of an ecosystem/habitat health monitoring tech along with a bunch of other duties. We just mess with cattle to get them to move out of the way so we actively get our data and be out of there. Also because I am an ecologist/scientist through and through and I don't talk about my work except on instagram, have some photos of my boring field sites aka no identifiable landmarks to get an idea where I work at. I

also literally stated in the excerpt:
"A sociologist studying gender in veterinary schools, Dr. Anne Lincoln says that in an attempt to describe this drastic drop in male enrollment, many keep pointing to financial reasons like the debt-to-income ratio or the high cost of schooling. But Lincoln’s research found that “men and women are equally affected by tuition and salaries.”
Tumblr media
Why aren't we talking about the real reason male college enrollment is dropping? (Celeste Davis, Oct 6 2024)
"White flight is a term that describes how white people move out of neighborhoods when more people of color move in.
White flight is especially common when minority populations become the majority. That neighborhood then declines in value.
Male flight describes a similar phenomenon when large numbers of females enter a profession, group, hobby or industry—the men leave. That industry is then devalued.
Take veterinary school for example:
In 1969 almost all veterinary students were male at 89%.
By 1987, male enrollment was equal to female at 50%.
By 2009, male enrollment in veterinary schools had plummeted to 22.4%
A sociologist studying gender in veterinary schools, Dr. Anne Lincoln says that in an attempt to describe this drastic drop in male enrollment, many keep pointing to financial reasons like the debt-to-income ratio or the high cost of schooling.
But Lincoln’s research found that “men and women are equally affected by tuition and salaries.”
Her research shows that the reason fewer men are enrolling in veterinary school boils down to one factor: the number of women in the classroom.
For every 1% increase in the proportion of women in the student body, 1.7 fewer men applied.
One more woman applying was a greater deterrent than $1000 in extra tuition! (…)
Since males had dominated these professions for centuries, you would think they would leave slowly, hesitantly or maybe linger at 40%, 35%, 30%, but that’s not what happens.
Once the tipping point reaches majority female- the men flee. And boy do they flee!
It’s a slippery slope. When the number of women hits 60% the men who are there make a swift exit and other men stop joining.
Morty Schapiro, economist and former president of Northwestern University has noticed this trend when studying college enrollment numbers across universities:
“There’s a cliff you fall off once you become 60/40 female/male. It then becomes exponentially more difficult to recruit men.”
Now we’ve reached that 60% point of no return for colleges.
As we’ve seen with teachers, nurses and interior design, once an institution is majority female, the public perception of its value plummets.
Scanning through Reddit and Quora threads, many men seem to be in agreement - college is stupid and unnecessary.
A waste of time and money. You’re much better off going into the trades, a tech boot camp or becoming an entrepreneur. No need for college. (…)
When mostly men went to college? Prestigious. Aspirational. Important.
Now that mostly women go to college? Unnecessary. De-valued. A bad choice. (…)
School is now feminine. College is feminine. And rule #1 if you want to safely navigate this world as a man? Avoid the feminine.
But we don’t seem to want to talk about that."
#You honestly didn't even need to read the article honestly just the headline and infer key priors#Like U know women are people and thus pay tuition as well#Also this thesis of under valuation carries over to non university qualified work#All the highest paying trades are extremely male dominated and very shite to get into as a woman#The more woman are in a trade the less it typically pays. I've noticed this as I've looked at and worked in different trades. Trades that#Are female dominated like operating industrial sewing machines pay literally minimum wage despite the years of machine experience + theory#The male equivalent of this level of experience like say cabinet making starts like 3-5$ more than minimum wage typically. Mixed trades#Like landscape gardening or painting typically are 1-4$ or so more than minimum wage n caps out at about 10$ if you make it up to fore#Most regulated male dominated trades fetch twice the minimum wage before mid career. All the trades that make $100000 are severely male n#tons of them Require you to live in a remote almost all male man camps where SA and DV are rife against female colleagues and locals alike#(man camps are often seen as a driver of mmiw in local areas) No wonder trades look like a better deal to men than university as different#sectors become feminized in the job market while women see tons of barriers and shite pay. Obviously the dollar and amounts and#stuff here are regional but I really cannot help but notice how the more female a trade is the lower it pays#So tired of white men with citizenships being imagined as the default prole.#Women are workers. People who are the undervalued as “surplus labour” are labour!

CONVERSATIONAL MARKETING SPECIALIST EMEA
Conversational marketing, at its core, is about facilitating real-time, dialogue-driven interactions with customers. It moves beyond the one-way communication of traditional marketing and embraces a two-way exchange, leveraging tools like chatbots, AI, and live chat to create personalized experiences. This approach allows businesses to engage with customers at every stage of the buying journey, from initial awareness to post-purchase support. Key concepts like conversational AI, real-time customer engagement, and chatbot marketing strategies highlight the technological underpinnings of this approach. Voice search optimization also plays an increasingly important role, as conversational marketing adapts to the rise of voice-activated devices and the growing preference for voice search.
The power of conversational marketing lies in its ability to address specific customer needs and answer their questions in real-time. This is where understanding user intent becomes crucial. By creating content that directly answers customer questions, businesses can attract qualified leads and establish themselves as trusted authorities. Furthermore, comparing conversational marketing with traditional methods helps clarify its unique value proposition. Addressing questions about ROI is also essential for demonstrating the tangible benefits of this strategy.
The rise of conversational marketing has also led to the emergence of a specialized role: the conversational marketing specialist. These professionals possess a unique blend of skills, including SEO expertise, customer journey mapping, and chatbot scripting. As the field matures, certifications for conversational marketing professionals will likely become more prevalent, further validating expertise and driving professional development. Even resume keywords are becoming standardized as the industry recognizes this new and important role.
Several key themes underpin a successful conversational marketing strategy. Voice search and AI integration are transforming how businesses interact with customers. Optimizing chatbots for voice search and understanding AI-driven conversational marketing trends, like the rise of natural language processing (NLP), are crucial for staying ahead of the curve. Content and strategy are equally important. Creating conversational content that resonates with the target audience and selecting the right platforms are essential for maximizing engagement. Integrating conversational marketing with omnichannel strategies ensures a seamless customer experience across all touchpoints.
Measuring the effectiveness of conversational marketing campaigns requires careful attention to metrics and optimization. Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and A/B testing chatbot scripts are essential for identifying what works and what doesn't. Reducing customer wait times with AI-powered solutions is another important consideration, as it directly impacts customer satisfaction.
Staying ahead in the dynamic world of conversational marketing requires continuous monitoring of competitor activity and emerging trends. Conducting gap analysis to identify underserved queries, capitalizing on seasonal trends, and understanding specific search patterns can help businesses gain a competitive edge. Utilizing tools for keyword expansion is essential for keeping keyword strategies up-to-date.
Finally, building authority in conversational marketing requires a strategic approach to content creation. Developing comprehensive guides, showcasing successful case studies, and creating insightful comparisons of different tools are all effective ways to establish thought leadership and attract a wider audience. Content clusters focused on these topics can significantly enhance a business's online presence and drive organic traffic.
In conclusion, conversational marketing represents a paradigm shift in how businesses interact with their customers. By prioritizing real-time dialogue, personalized experiences, and data-driven optimization, it offers a powerful way to build meaningful relationships and drive business growth. As technology continues to evolve, conversational marketing will undoubtedly become even more sophisticated, requiring specialists with a deep understanding of its principles and a commitment to staying ahead of the latest trends. By embracing this dynamic approach, businesses can unlock new opportunities for engagement, build stronger customer loyalty, and thrive in the increasingly competitive digital landscape.
