It is no longer just Donald Trump and his administration that are attempting to undermine the rule of law.

House Republicans voted to release a partisan propaganda memo asserting that the FBI and Justice Department officials (Rod Rosenstein) leaned on the Steele dossier in order to renew a FISA warrant against Carter Page. This memo has been criticized by the Justice Department and by House Democrats because it cherry-picks details about the FISA warrant application to sell a partisan narrative. This memo was also written by Devon Nunes, who recused himself from the Russia investigation months back.

Republicans have been looking for any reason to discredit those investigating Donald Trump because Trump’s investigation is an existential crisis, an extinction-level event for the party. If Donald Trump goes down, so do the rest. So GOP leadership such as Paul Ryan are all in, ready to obstruct, ready to obfuscate, ready to damage American democracy in order to keep their power.

Just a guess, but I’m expecting leaks.  We are about to see Democrats finally get a taste of their own medicine, and lets see if they finally decide to condemn leaks of classified information to the press.  And then we’ll see if the press even covers it.  

My understanding, is that Republicans on the House Intelligence committee created a memo summarizing information they viewed in classified FBI documents regarding the Trump/Russia investigation, and the FISA surveillance program.  They were so appalled at what they saw, that the created a memo of the highlights, and moved to share the memo with the entire House body.  That has now be executed, and we will wait and see if that information is leaked to public, or it is lawfully declassified and released to the public through proper channels.   

House Republicans claim that this information will likely result in firings and perhaps jail time for FBI agents involved in the misuse of authority.
