Sarafina always dreamed of having a big family. Even affter Mheshimiwa death's and Rego cheating on her, she never stopped pursuing that dream. That's why she accepted bearing Scar's heir. But after Scar never accepted to recognize Mheetu as his son, her dream stopped. She still loved her cubs though and focused on protecting them. So when Ni appeared and saved Nala from Scar's hyenas she got interested in him. And so did Ni. He told Sarafina that a nearby pride that used to have alliance with The Pridelands has sent him to help and check how things were going. Ni suggested her to leave with him and with her cubs. But Sarafina couldn't. She had a duty with the pride and she wouldnt leave Sarabi alone, dealing with Scar. So Ni promised to come back for her when he was stronger and could challenge Scar.

Ni did come back, but things were already handled by Simba. Sarafina has lost hope on seeing Ni again so when he showed again she got happy to see a nice familiar face. The Pridelands were still healing from Scar's reign so once again, Ni suggested for her to leave with him and see the world. Sarafina hesitated but after Mheetu returned and with a little push from Nala, Sarafina accepted to leave. Sure she wouldn't be able to have more cubs, but she didnt care: she finally have found someone that loved her.
