Made for the 25th Anniversary of Dino Crisis, I’m still eagerly awaiting word that Capcom is remaking this underrated survival horror gem.

This is actually the second time I’ve made Regina, but a lot has changed in my process and skills since 2011. She really came out great this time and paired with some random parts and one of my son’s T-Rex toys, I was able to recreate Ibis Island.

I drew this when the idea that t.rex was actually three separate species was floating around, I think I titled it something like "The Queen and the Princess".

I know this was probably unintentional, but the scene of the Gigantosaurus smashing the glass reminds me so much of that scene of the T-Rex doing the same in Dino Crisis on PlayStation

Speaking of which, Capcom really needs to take a break from making Resident Evil remakes and give Dino Crisis another chance.

(At least we'll be getting a new Jurassic Park survival horror game.)

How do you know that Nantechildis regina was Dagobert I Rex’s favourite? Just curious whether is there something in the sources available that specifies this or goes into detail?

It's not that she was his favorite per se, but she was his most important consort and the one he associated the most to his authority, and we can see it through:

Common pious donations and religious foundations where both of their names were indicated;

The fact that Nantechildis' brother, Landegiselus, was buried in the St-Denis necropolis, which was already an important royal burial site at this time;

The birth of their son Chlodovech in the year 634, meaning that they were still physically intimate even after the birth of Dagobert's first son by an other concubine;

And last but not least, the fact that she was the only consort mentioned as being entrusted to Aega by Dagobert on his deathbed, and later the one who ruled the partition of Dagobert's treasure between his two sons.

It's important to remember that what makes a woman of authority isn't necesserally the love she receives from a male partner, but definitely the personal agency and public visibility she can demonstrate on several occasions. And as far as we can tell thanks to Fredegar's chronicle, this is totally what Nantechildis managed to have during Dagobert's lifetime :)
