Know the Importance of Melange Yarn Manufacturers in India
Melange yarns are popular due to their unique fabric appearance. It is very popular and rich in appearance because of the wavy effect created by blending different fibers and the vast variety of color tones achieved by blending different fibers. It has a considerably smoother fabric texture.
By blending a spectrum of colors and a variety of different fibers, melange yarn manufacturers create a beautiful assortment of colored and non-dyed yarns. The color palette is ever-expanding and tries to capture attention with its vibrant motifs and diverse colors.
Melange yarn is made of colored and untreated fibers. As a result, a unique mixed-color pattern with a wavy pattern emerged. It's possible to utilize cotton or a combination of fibers. Duplicating roving of a different color to generate ring melange yarn can also be used to make a Melange yarn ring frame.
The Melange Yarn manufacturers produce mainly two types of yarn:
Blended Melange Yarn
Multiple fibers are mixed/blended in a specified fixed ratio in yarns as PC (Polyester: Cotton blend) 50:50, PV (Polyester: Viscose) 80:20, CV (Cotton: Viscose) 60:40, and so on. In Melange yarns, cotton and viscose fibers are widely utilized. The viscose portion of these yarns will be darkly colored, while the cotton portion will be pale.
Viscose Yarn
Viscose yarn is a man-made fibre, a "regenerated cellulosic fibre" created from cellulose, most typically wood pulp, but it can also be made from a variety of plants, including bamboo.
Melange yarn is a yarn-dyed product, meaning that a percentage of the fibers is colored before being blended with the uncolored fibers for spinning. When compared to typical spinning before dyeing, melange yarn production can save up to 50% water and 50% wastewater, giving melange yarn apparent energy-saving, emission-reduction, and environmental benefits. The garment crocheted using melange yarn does not need to be dyed.
Because of their appealing and unusual fabric appearance, melange yarns are popular. It is very popular and rich in appearance because of the wavy effect created by blending different fibers and the vast variety of color tones achieved by blending different fibers. It has a considerably smoother fabric texture. The fabric may have a silky texture and a sparkling finish.
RSWM Ltd., a yarn manufacturer in India, is a market leader. The diverse products are used in a wide range of markets all around the world. The yarns and textiles used in high-end fashion and activewear can be modified. Textiles and yarns for uniforms for schools and government officials, as well as protective gear for military personnel and other high-risk professions, are created by yarn producers in India, using advanced technology in fire retardancy, bacterial resistance, and moisture control.

COTTON
Recycled cotton is re-purposed, post-industrial or post-consumer cotton that would otherwise be deemed straight up: waste for the landfill. For example, imagine a factory that cuts patterns for clothing out of big sheets of fabric and has all the in-between pieces to discard. The scraps of such cut and sew facilities are post-industrial cotton “waste” that have the capacity to be recycled. Depending on how recycled cotton is used, it has the potential to greatly reduce water and energy consumption in sustainable fashion and apparel, as well as reduce landfill waste and space.
Post-industrial or Pre-consumer: These are the remains of yarns and fabrics that are discarded in the process of cutting and making clothing, home textiles and other fashion accessories.
Post-consumption: includes garments, upholstery, towels, used household items, whose cotton fibers will be reused in the development of a new product.
The largest amount of recycled cotton is generated through pre-consumer waste. What originates from post-consumption is much more difficult to classify and reprocess due to the variety of colors involved, the mix of fibers that make up the fabric, the rest of the raw materials and accessories present in the garments and it is a process that involves more work and a higher cost. Regenerated cotton is produced through a recycling process that is mostly mechanical. In the first step, fabrics and materials are sorted by color. After this separation, the fabrics go through a machine that shreds the fabric into yarn and then into crude fiber. In this part of the process a lot of tension is put on the fiber; during this shredding process, it is very easy for the fibers to break and become entangled. The raw fiber obtained is spun back into bobbins to be reused in the production of other garments and accessories. The quality of the recycled fiber obtained by this process will never get the same quality values as the original fiber. Specifically, the length of the fiber and its uniformity are affected; this limits its application, its end use and creates the need to mix it with other fibers. It has the potential to greatly reduce water and energy consumption in the fashion industry. The amount of water needed is less than the amount used to grow and generate virgin cotton | Many products are diverted from what would be their inevitable and ultimate destination, landfills | Recycled cotton can be given new life in many different elements, simple to use or with a low level of complexity, such as insulation, mop heads, cleaning rags, padding, etc.
Certified organic cotton is cotton that is expected to have been grown without fertilizers and pesticides, with practices that promote biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil health. Cotton as a whole is considered to be one of the world’s “dirtiest” crops, covering 2.5% of the world’s cultivated land and accounting for 24% ($2.6 billion worth) of the world’s insecticide market. In terms of organic cotton, China, Turkey, and India are the world’s leading producers and sources. While organic cotton makes cotton cultivation “cleaner,” both organic and conventional cotton go through the same manufacturing process, which is water and energy intensive.
Controlled traceability along the supply chain | Genetically modified seeds are not used | It takes the natural balance of the soil as its basis, generating organic matter through composting achieved through intercropping, improving its conservation and biodiversity | The use of drinking water is reduced because it is conserved and rain is used more efficiently because it is stored longer in the soil itself | Through “cultivation-friendly” insects, those that are beneficial for pest control, it is possible to avoid the intensive use of pesticides with the strong incidence in human health and environment mentioned before | Natural defoliation | Non-allergic | Good for farmers, generates better working conditions and builds communities | Promotes the global exchange of knowledge with its sustainable production process.

As a Substitute for Cotton in Clothing & Textiles, Cellulosic Man-Made Fibers Witnesses Healthy Growth
Growing adoption in the textile industry as an alternate to cotton, favorable regulations and growing preference for biodegradable fabrics are poised to drive the global market for Cellulosic Man-Made Fibers to reach 8.2 million tons by 2024.
Cellulosic man-made fibers are semi-synthetic fibers that are either regenerated or modified from natural cellulose, the abundantly available natural polymer that forms a vital constituent of the living cells of all vegetation. Modified cellulose such as the cellulose acetates, and regenerated cellulose such as rayon fibers – modal, viscose, and lyocell, are produced by treating wood pulp with certain chemicals. Although the production methodology for regenerated cellulose and modified cellulose was first brought forward in late-1800s, widespread commercial uptake of these methods commenced only few decades ago. World market for man-made cellulosics grew noticeably in recent years, driven mainly by scarcity of and volatility in natural cellulose fibers production, and subsequent escalation in role and image of man-made fibers in overall textile fibers mix. Intensified demand for durable, low-weight, moisture-resistant, skin-friendly, and biodegradable clothing and fabrics is a driver for man-made cellulosics.
The trend towards substituting petrochemical-based fibers with cellulose fibers in various industries is also spurring adoption of man-made cellulosics. The market is especially benefitting from growing pressure on synthetic fibers manufacturers to develop innovative and green fibers derived from plant sources rather than petrochemicals. The clothing industry ranks as the most lucrative end-use market spurred by the continuous decline in cotton production and the ensuing shortage induced rise in cotton prices. Popularity of spun yarns is also expected to boost demand together with favorable regulations and low raw material prices. Acetate tow another end-use application area is benefiting from the steady production of cigarette filters, despite implementation of legislations discouraging smoking.
Despite the opportunities for growth, the market will face challenges posed by stringent environmental legislations capping deforestation. Rigid forestry policies and volatile prices of wood pulp are likely to push up production cost of man-made cellulosics, lower profit margins and adversely affect supplier profitability. Uncertainty regarding wood prices is also anticipated to prompt various manufacturers to use renewable resources for cellulose fiber production.
As stated by the new market research report on Cellulosic Man-Made Fibers, Asia-Pacific represents the largest market worldwide. Trailing at a CAGR of 4.9% over the review period, Asia-Pacific also ranks as the fastest growing regional market. Rising demand for apparel, growing number of new production centers and increasing foreign investment represent major factors supporting the region’s dominance.
Major players in the market include Aditya Birla Group, Baoding Swan Fiber Co. Ltd., Celanese Corporation, Century Rayon Limited, Daicel Corporation, Eastman Chemical Company, Formosa Chemicals & Fiber Corporation, Glanzstoff Industries, Grasim Industries Limited, Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, International Paper, Jiangsu Aoyang Technology Co. Ltd., Kelheim Fibres GmbH, Lenzing AG, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, NRC Limited, PT Indo Bharat Rayon, PT. Cotton fights back
“Synthetic fibres have been associated with performance innovation for too long and we are now showcasing innovative technologies that will inspire brands with new ideas for cotton and cotton-blended fabrics,” said CCI executive director Bruce Atherley at the show. “The objective is to inspire everyone in the textile business to think about the many opportunities with US cotton.”Copper infusionAmong partners is Argaman Technologies with its CottonX skincare technology. This infuses 100% natural cotton with a copper compound which helps promote skin regeneration and collagen synthesis, for smoother and healthier-looking skin. There are no coatings involved in the processing of 100% cotton and later in 2018 Argaman plans to introduce a flame retardant cotton based on the same process, which could have a big impact on the home textiles market.Hologenix, from US partner Celliant is meanwhile a patented technology for imbuing fabrics with a natural blend of minerals which aim to recycle the body’s own energy, resulting in improved thermal regulation and more restorative sleep.Peppermint oilThailand’s Life Materials is a specialist in the development and production of antimicrobial additives and treatments. Its Life Natural technology is based on renewable plant extract – peppermint oil – to deliver long-lasting freshness to textiles by inhibiting bacteria. The treatment is extremely durable and will last for 50 wash cycles, making it competitive with existing treatments for synthetic fibre-based fabrics. The US non-profit trade association Cotton Council International (CCI) is linking up with a range of partners to introduce new performance properties that are usually associated with synthetics to Cotton USA-branded fabrics.
In the 2017/2018 season, an estimated 26.5 million tons of cotton will be produced on a surface of 33 million hectares. At present eight countries account for around 87% of all production – India, China, The USA, Pakistan, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Australia.
In 2017, US exports are estimated to have been 3.2 million tons, making it the largest cotton supplier worldwide.
Nevertheless, cotton continues to lose ground globally to synthetics, and especially to PET polyester from China. In total, some 52 million tons of PET fibre was manufactured in 2017.
In PET fibre production, China surpassed the rest of the world’s output by 2005 and doubled that of the rest of the world by 2012. Of the twelve largest PET fibre producers in the world, nine of them are Chinese, and of the three non-Chinese companies, two have operations in China. These are all highly integrated operations, and raw materials for PET production – particularly PTA – are much cheaper in China due to overcapacity.
PET’s phenomenal growth has been despite overwhelming evidence of a consumer preference for cotton and now, working with partners, CCI is driving a campaign to develop new fabric variants that can be exploited by the 750 global licensees of its Cotton USA brand.
At the recent Heimtextil home textiles show in Frankfurt, the ‘What’s New in Cotton?’ display featured a range of new developments with partners.
A patented process for creating dissolvable yarns with enhanced characteristics and a low environmental impact has been developed by Italy’s Solucell. Through its use, SolucellAir cotton yarns are being engineered with sophisticated hollow channel structures. This results in fabrics that are light weight, soft touch, thermo-regulating and possess moisture management properties via a manufacturing route that is entirely free of chemicals.
French biotechnology company Proneem is also partnering with Cotton USA brands for sustainable anti-dust mite technologies which repel harmful organisms, while on the processing front, India’s Welspun showcased an innovation called Wel-Trak within the ‘What’s New in Cotton?’ display.
This patented new system has been developed to ensure both brands and consumers can trace the provenance of cotton raw materials all the way through the supply chain  from farm to the retail shelf – by employing;
Automated data capture using RFID.
Customised software for validation.
Robust IT and ERP systems to enable smooth operations across all stages of production.
Strengthened physical and systems controls which streamline the tracking process.
“Our customers across the globe are very excited about Wel-Trak,” said Welspun CEO and joint managing director Dipali Goenka. “Having a mechanism in place that will enable them to track the source of the final product right back to the specific farm it comes from definitely adds value and transparency to the whole process.”
Welspun has established a partnership with Oritain Global, a leader in the use of scientific traceability, which will provide independent validation of Welspun’s supply chain enabling the company to identify the origin of all of the cotton fibre used in its home textile products.
Chemical fingerprints
Based on its analysis, Oritain has created a database of unique ‘chemical fingerprints’ for special cotton variants such as Egyptian, US Supima and Australian cotton. This will be extended to include Organic and American Upland cottons. This database enables Oritain to verify a sample against its stated origin and allows Welspun to conduct tests at various stages of its manufacturing process and verify the origin of cotton at each stage, to ensure the authenticity of its final products.
