A Tumblr Community for The Bill...?
Is there any interest in creating a community for fans of The Bill to discuss and have more opportunities to interact/chat about the show almost like a forum from what it sounds like?
If you'd be interested, please like/comment/reblog this post to show your potential interest so we can all see if it would be worth attempting to create one or not.
Tumblr is beta testing a new 'community' idea [apparently not available to all as yet but should appear for most] that it says is:
Communities is a new feature in development, currently in beta testing. Our hope is to empower everyone on Tumblr to create new, dedicated spaces to connect with people over shared interests. It’s a bit like using tags but more contained, it’s a bit like having a shared blog but with more options, and it’s a bit like a group chat except it’s slower. Access to communities is not yet out to all users, and currently has incomplete support across the Tumblr mobile apps
Labs blog post
Help page post/more information
It's still in testing mode and they're asking for feedback. They state it can be a private group or more open access.
Public communities can be seen and visited by non-members, logged in or logged out. However, only the feed of posts in each community tab, and the About page, are accessible. Non-members cannot view the member list, see who reacted with what, or see community comments. Non-members with an invite can see everything a member can see, but cannot interact with anything until they accept the invitation.
Private communities cannot be seen or visited by non-members at all. The existence of a private community is not hidden, however, if someone has the URL (they’ll see a message like “this is a private community”). Non-members with an invite can see everything a member can see, but cannot interact with anything until they accept the invitation.
I wrote a tag list of every member of the cast including notable long running guests. It took FOREVER. And this is what Tumblr cuts it down to. FGS.

Reg Presley - Wichita Lineman (1969)
Whose idea was this? Reg Presley, the former singer of the Troggs, singing Wichita Lineman? Actually, Reg pulls it off for the most part, though by the way he pronounces Wichita, it’s clear he’s unfamiliar with the place.

@calderon.kenia sent me something the other day about how #WOC need to learn to take credit for the work we do. So I will be starting with sharing a cool recognition I received last week -MLK Advancing One Community Award. Yes, I’m damn proud of the work I’ve done at #IowaStateUniversity & in the state of Iowa in general. Nevertheless, there is so much work to continue to do to uplift the voices of all immigrants and #UndocuIowans because none of us are free until we we are all free 🗣 I do have to give props to the people that have been there with me holding banners & tears of anger @michelle___ramos___ , holding back our tongues @drcroom @jumpforjoi to avoid rumbles but still calling out BS, getting kicked out of #45 rallies @rcorona93 @mdiaz19 @jaaazzmmin @griseldathegreat @mikeylikesturtles @Nautalia Black @Bryan Lutz @wesleynotwes @jduchimaza @The Webb Family (&more), holding ISU administration accountable @Angel Reymundo @mr.mcken , and dealing with threats & the never ending looks. We continue to be out here not simply surviving but THRIVING at institutions that were not meant for us && that makes us resilient AF!!! 💯 🚫— excuse my stank face but I can’t fake the funk 🤷🏻♀️. Although, ISU and I have a love hate relationship I really do appreciate the last couple of words by Dr. Reg & the quote by Martin Luther King Jr. that he shared .... #MLKjr #HereToStay #immigrantsgetthejobdone #MLK #Service #PodcastComingSoon 🎙 -el activismo y servicio a mi comunidad lo llevo en la sangre gracias a mi abuela Doris 👵🏽 ✊🏽solo estoy siguiendo sus pasos 👣🇪🇨 (S/o to the support system that always shows up - you are what keeps me sane! @johnnaogonza @mollylynn4rivers @sandritaisa @randiedani87 @ekw50 @nancycam )

🍭Who was your first favorite host? letterman in america, jonathan ross here in the UK 🌸Who’s your current favorite host? conan, obvs 🏙Who was your favorite Tonight Show host? (see above, altho johnny looked fun) 🤴🏼Which Jimmy is your favorite? Kimmel, a billion times over. His demo is v middle america and broad, but he’s obviously really clever and sweet. sarah silverman once talked about how extremely funny and quick he is, but that he has to rein it in a lot on tv for his audience, and you can tell that that’s true. 🎤If you could be a guest on any show, which would you choose? Conan ofc 🎲Which of Fallon’s games would you most like to play? uh...? tbh I barely ever watch. but I guess the wheel of musical impressions bc Id be terrible and it’d be funny. 🌹Do you prefer the network (ABC, CBS, NBC), cable (Comedy Central, AMC, TBS, Bravo!) or premium (HBO) hosts? I don’t think of them in those categories. I like conan then stephen the most. ⛈Do you have a least favorite host? If so, why do you dislike them? Fallon ofc. I just don’t find him remotely funny and he’s such a kissass. 🍾Congratulations! You’re meeting your favorite host, you have 30 seconds to talk to them. Who is it and what do you say? Conan and I’d just melt the whole time. Ideally I’d tell him what he means to me in a cool, sophisticated way while lookin smokin but like...that’s not realistic. 🏆Who do you think is the most underrated host? Overrated? Most underrated is eaaaasily conan, most overrated is easily Fallon. And, tbh, Trevor? I find him smug and not funny at all. 🤹🏼♀️Which former host would you bring out of retirement if you could? Carson just for Conan. Letterman’s coming back anyway (on netflix, if you havent heard) 🚗Which artist would you most like to see James have a Carpool Karaoke with? Nicki Minaj frankly 🎭Bill Maher: love or hate? Neither, I hate a lot of his views but not him as a person. But I think he provides a really important service to the american public - not as crucial as it was 10 years ago, but still crucial. 💎Have you gotten to see any tapings live? Not hosts, no. I went to see Mitchell & Webb live and a govt show we have in the UK, and those were great tho 👑Who do you consider the king/queen of late night? The King’s kinda Stephen now, tbh. If we’re looking at data and influence. Queen? No idea. 🙅🏼♂️Unpopular late night opinion? Idk, I think Myers is boring af and I seem to be in the minority on here. tho, tbf, no one talks about him so I guess not? 🇺🇸Do you prefer The Colbert Report Stephen or Late Show Stephen? The latter, he’s SO cute as himself 📺Trevor Noah or Jon Stewart? Jon eeeeeevery time. He’s a cutie and he’s naturally hilarious. 🗽Leno vs Letterman, pick a side. No one on earth would choose leno. 📽Which current TDS corespondent do you think deserves their own show? I don’t reg watch 💰If you could move one host to HBO to have the freedom that John Oliver has, who would you choose? None of them they’re all happy where they are? ⛄️If you could only watch one late night show forever, which would you pick? Conan, ofc, but I do Love Stephen.

New Post has been published on https://toldnews.com/business/ticket-resale-company-determined-to-sit-outside-the-law/
Ticket resale company 'determined to sit outside the law'
Image caption Last year Arctic Monkeys manager Ian McAndrew called for Viagogo to be shut down
Campaigners say ticket resale company Viagogo is not fully complying with a court order to reform its practices.
In November, the firm was required to improve the information it gives to consumers, including details of the seller and seat numbers.
The company now insists it is compliant with the legal requirements.
But ticketing expert Reg Walker said Viagogo had not fulfilled its obligations and “seems determined to sit outside the law.”
Last year a court ordered Viagogo to “overhaul” the way it does business following legal action by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
Under the court order Viagogo was obliged to:
Tell ticket buyers if there is a risk they will be turned away at the door
Inform customers which seat they will get
Inform buyers who is selling the ticket
Make it easy for people to get their money back when things go wrong
Prevent the sale of tickets a seller does not own and may not be able to supply
Not give misleading information about the availability and popularity of tickets
The deadline for Viagogo to comply with the order was mid-January – the same date by which other resale sites had agreed to change their practices.
On 17 January Viagogo announced that it had met the deadline and was now compliant.
“All tickets on Viagogo are valid and it is perfectly legal to resell a ticket or give it to someone else if you want to,” the company said.
Why is Viagogo being criticised?
Some ticketing experts and consumers say Viagogo is failing to fulfil its obligations as set out by the CMA.
Adam Webb from the FanFair Alliance accused the company of “minor tinkering” rather than the “complete overhaul” expected.
He said they have failed to make information transparent and to provide all details required – like seat numbers, trader contact details or provisions of resale restrictions.
Fans might be able to discover who was selling the tickets – but only after they had started the buying process, he said.
“They [Viagogo] should show you who the trader is from the get-go,
“Trader contact details are not supplied. Viagogo only give you a name, or an initial. This is in breach of the 2002 eCommerce Directive.”
Mr Webb suggested Viagogo was making misleading marketing messages about the demand level for certain events.
Ticketing expert Reg Walker, from the consultancy Iridium, described as “nonsense” Viagogo’s assertion that they are compliant with the court order.
“When you look at the relevant legislation in the Consumer Rights Act – which I helped draft – it says quite clearly that you must put your details on the website and you must have the seat, block and row,” he said.
“It means every single listing on that website that does not contain these details is an offence. Viagogo seems determined to sit outside the law.”
What happens next?
According to the CMA, if Viagogo fail to comply with the court order the company could face a fine.
If particular, if serious breaches were proven then the court has the power to send certain individuals to prison.
CMA chief executive Andrea Coscelli has said the watchdog would “not hesitate” to take action against companies that failed to meet their obligations.

Image caption Claire Turnham was given an MBE after setting up the Victim of Viagogo group
Campaigner Claire Turnham was awarded an MBE after obtaining close to £1 million of refunds from the site through her Victim of Viagogo group.
She said she expected the CMA to act “swiftly and strictly” if Viagogo were found not to be compliant.
“As consumers, we are desperate to know ticket buyers will be able to buy tickets more safely and have certainty that they will be protected by the law,” she said.
