(Drawing from the two days ago where I, on a whim, decided to make him the subject of a high-effort doodle. Cut to me going home, finding checking the original doodle, and finding that my brain put him back in my head almost exactly a year later for NO reason.)

Who is he? Why is he here?? Great question. You know about as much as I do, he's an enigma to me and I do not comprehend his intentions. There's a really blurry line going on here between AU and OC and he feels like he's walking straight down the middle. A friend described him as the herobrine for my brain and I can't stop thinking about it

Lore? No idea boss. Personality? Cryptic and unclear. What is His Deal? I am Not Sure. Why does he Look Like That? Whimsy, I suppose. I picked up a red digital paintbrush and couldn't decide if I wanted to draw Emmet or Ingo and I guess this is just happening now.

I've misremembered his original design but I really like how the most recent drawing turned out so I might go through and make a proper reference, something about him fascinates me and I'm keeping him. Here to stay. Will probably make guest appearances around here, unsure

i got a lil keychain at the renfaire... it's a longer strip of chainmail that ends off into a few pieces of scale mail. rly wanted some piece of chainmail to take with me cause (the obvious, Knight Enthusiast,) but also the cold metal and clanking rings are so nice to jostle between my fingers. cannot stop touching it.

What is Red Metal?

Red metal gets its name from the reddish tint of the material. Although the types of red metal differ in composition, they all contain copper.

The common alloys made of red metal are copper, brass, and bronze. These metals, despite all being considered red metals, have very different properties that we are going to discuss shortly.

Hi hello ^.^ I'm currently reading The silmarillion and I have one question: why people love Feanor so much like i've seen tons of love post about him and in my eyes he's such a mad psycho... a kinslayer, betrayed his brother and his children by using the ships without them and then burning it... like I know he was kinda paranoid and everything but... my heart just can't like him idk Or maybe there's something in another works that would change my mind?

Hey Anon, thank you for your ask! Sorry it took a bit to respond, I have been busy with testing. Also this is just speculation and rambling, hope you dont mind!

My best guess as to why a lot of people still favor Feanor is ignoring or accepting his actions if that makes sense? Like if you remove him from his actions he is a super talented, hot, prodigy king.

People tend to like “villains” or bad characters quite a lot in fandoms. Which is fine because its all fantasy I feel: their actions are not real. Another reason I can give is bad characters like Feanor lend themselves well to fan fic because you already have a plot: bad character meets good reader, bad character changes because good reader. It allows for a redmetion arc.

Also there is the apeal of Characters like Feanor are interesting and unique oppossed to your classic hero characters. It allows for more angsty and interesting fics, arts and HCs.

Also wanna add, Feanor is such an influencel character in Tolkiens works so that probably contributes

Also there is just the fact, Feanor like many moraly bad characters is just hot.

I think the reason i really love Amity's character/redmetion arc compared to others (specifically Catra and Kurvira) is because comparatively her wrong doings are wayyyyy less devastating to the rest of the cast/world.

Like i loved she-ra and watching Catra's downward spiral was really good writing but i feel like they didnt spend enough time with the actual "redemption" part of her arc so when it came down to the others forgiving her for destroying their homes, hurting their love ones, hurting them both physically and emotionally, betraying everyone who stood with her, pretty much kid show-murdering the queen, ect, they didnt really convince me that the other characters should've or would've forgiven her. Its really hard to make up for being a major part of an imperialistic take over and because of that it feels cheap to me that everyone forgave her so quickly. (No shade if you like her though. A lot of this is my own personal opinion and i never really vibed with Catra's character like the rest of the fandom and i get that kids shows have a different level of morailty to them. I dont think Catra's arc was horrible i just think it needed more time in the end.)

And Kurvira's redemtion arc in the "Ruins of an Empire" comics is a complete mess. Korra as a series made her the stand-in for fascisism and she straight murdered one of the main characters father's on screen and the comic book just seems to push her super sad backstory to make you feel bad for her. Im sorry, but forgive me if i dont see the connection between "i had a bad childhood" and "now im a fascist". The comic expects us to forgive Kuvira for causing a damn war for no other reason than her own ego because "she took accountability for her actions", but it doesnt stop to consider that maybe her actions aren't forgivable in the first place and that its completely okay for the other characters to still treat her like a villain.

But whats Amity's crime? Being a privileged teenage brat, thats it. Shes a 14 year old girl who has no outlet for her emotions so she deals with her problems by lashing out and being mean to others. The worse thing she does is set Willow's mind on fire which is immediately fixed by her within the episode it happened. Amity isnt a fuckin war criminal shes just a bully which, while still shitty, is still in many ways forgivable. And the story doesnt focus on her tragic backstory to make you feel bad for her it focuses on her self improvement and how she distances herself from toxic enviroments. And because of that her arc feels so seamless, she slides so easily into friend/crush/girlfriend.

I just think its neat.
