Many people are already aware of the connections between the stalkers and the original characters in the Pinocchio story but it is very funny to me just how deep they go!

The Cat and Fox are the most famous, the two swindlers pretend to be blind and lame to trick Pinocchio out of his money and by the end of the story are left to suffer as their fake ailments become reality

The Owl stalker is a reference to the Owl doctor that the Blue Fairy calls to check on Pinocchio after the Cat and Fox had hanged him from a tree.

Alidoro- or rather- Parrot is also connected to Cat and Fox. After Pinocchio is tricked into burying his golden coins, upon being told that they grow a golden tree, Pinocchio finds himself heckled by a Parrot overhead.

Now for the one I found most interesting!

Melampo (Melamfo) and the Weasel!

Melampo is the name of a dog who had an agreement with the local weasels, he was supposed to guard his master's chickens but in exchange for one of his own he let the weasels hunt to their hearts content. Though Pinocchio never meets the dog in the story as he had passed away the day he happened through the farmer's garden. Pinocchio is then forced into a collar and made to work as the farmer's dog as punishment for trying to steal some of his grapes. The weasels come to Pinocchio and try to offer him the same deal but Pinocchio immediately rats on them and the weasels are thwarted and the boy is let out of the collar.

Alexandra Byrne designed this beautiful gown for the 1998 film Elizabeth, where it was worn by one of Elizabeth’s ladies in waiting.  

In 2000, it was worn in The Royal Diaries: Elizabeth I – Red Rose of the House of Tudor by Susan Sheridan as a character in the novel referred to as Jane the Bald, who in life was likely Jane Foole, the fool who served both Mary and Katherine Parr, and may have been featured in the painting The Family of Henry VIII.  The appearance of the costume in this production is the only time we are able to see the pattern on the blue skirt.

In 2003’s Henry VIII, the costume was seen again by a lady in waiting to Anne Boleyn before finally appearing in 2023’s Love At First Sight on a party guest.

I had a dream where everyone's nails began mysteriously disappearing, and Ghost was especially upset about this and enlisted Hornet and Quirrel and Hollow to help search for everyone's missing weapons and eventually Hollow was the only one who's nail wasn't taken (because of Hollow's extreme paranoia about losing it and never letting it go.)

They ended up finding out what happened because a strange little bug attempted and failed to steal Hollow's nail and they forced him to explain and he takes them to this secret place where a giant bug, like an actual giant (like the temple sized bug) lives and is building a home for itself and it's little friend has been bringing it nails that it's been using to build it's home. You know like actual nails, with a hammer.

I woke up before they confronted the giant unfortunately

But it was funny.

Lucille is an EXTREMELY typical, even ideal Victorian lady on the surface, with the exception of wearing old clothes and being unmarried at age 36. and that contrast makes what lies beneath the surface all the more compelling
