Update on seating for downstairs!:

I have had a lot of trouble with sitting up and supporting my floppy hypotonic body, for a long time (really my whole life, but worse now with overlap with other conditions like ME/CFS). And I say repeatedly to Mum, "I am wasting precious energy just trying to hold my body up and together". And since blue chair doesn't work for me;

Mum did some research and found the Recliner Support System (RSS) from Special Tomato. I actually already knew this existed, but from weird ways brain works and puts up barriers for what is "possible" and "allowed" - and how it doesn't occur to me to communicate things to other people, or I assume they know what is inside my brain... - I never showed to Mum before.

But now we will actually get it! (I try not to to get too excited this time, because I don't cope well with disappointment. But I do hope hope that this will work for me).

It looks very good and like it will support my floppy body properly. I will get it with the optional seat and backrest. Like I said, don't want to get too high hopes, but I do have a good feeling for this.

I want to be able to cope with being downstairs for longer periods (although, my physical body is not the only barrier to this for me. Also is autism, and suspected autistic catatonia, and weird traumatised brain with its rules about where is "allowed" to go).

Mum and Dad measured me for the seat today. I will fit the biggest size. I am lucky to be not very tall or big, in this case! It is mostly meant to fit children, but fits small adults (like me!) too.

For trying at first, we will just put it on top of my blue chair (the one that doesn't work for me and is very bad and uncomfortable). I am worried about that because I have bad brain associations with that chair. And worried it will make the new thing feel bad/uncomfortable, or have bad associations too. But Mum says we can always get a different recliner chair for it, after I try (if it works for me).

This is very positive. It is now ordered. I have lots of feelings about it, though. New things is hard. I have a lot of worry and anxiety.

Finally we arrive at the movies that I've seen. Starting with those that I thought were decent enough to have been made into movies, but if someone would shittalk the shit out of them, I wouldn't be surprised.

Down/The Shaft (2001)

This is the American remake of De Lift (English ver. "The Lift") from 1983 made by the same Dutch director, Dick Maas.

I'm not sure if it's only the middle elevator being bloodthirsty and it takes partially control of the neighbouring elevators at some moments - or that all of them are killers. I personally like the first idea better, though, so that's what I'll stick to.

It's way less realisic than the original and lacks its charm, which is why I think the movie alright, but not worthy of its own post.

Down/The Shaft simply doesn't beat the original masterpiece.

2. Rubber (2010)

This movie is weird af, but at least the creators acknowledge it and I respect that. It's about a car tire making people's head explode. And then he falls in love with a woman. The ending is mind boggling, too, but I won't spoil it. Oh and also, a group of people watch it like a movie from afar with binoculars. Yeah, it's as absurd as it sounds, but if you're crazy like me, it may be worth a watch.

3. Killer Sofa

I don't know if I would put this one on third or fourth place, but since the list is already in the correct order of time w.r.t. release dates, I'm keeping it that way. So here we have a murderous "sofa", which is, for the record, a recliner and not a sofa. Moreover, actually it's a human possessing a recliner and the body is literally still stuck within its cushions, but it counts nonetheless.

This is the second time a human became a chair. Wow.

4. Slaxx (2020)

Lastly, we have this movie that would have been the result of Hollywood and Bollywood having a (low-budget) baby. Mostly, there is one thing that I really did like about this movie why it made it to this list and not the previous one, which is [SPOILER ALERT] the way in which Keerat became the pair of pants. It's absolutely brilliant, because she literally BECAME the pants by falling into the blades of the cotton field equipment. It obviously doesn't make sense if you'd apply real logic, but for fictional logic, IT KINDA DOES.

I’ve been working on mini furniture all semester for my ceramics final. The couch was the first thing I ever made and the chair was the most recent. I don’t like how the underglaze looks tho so I’ll prolly go in later with a pattern or something

These are 4to2 conversions from VALIA, low poly. The awning, tray and umbrella are decorative (you can find them in curtains and deco-miscellaneous section). The chair is a functional recliner, the pouff is a coffee table and the table is a dining table. A bunch of recolors are included. The pouff is slaved to the chair.
