1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1
phk1960 asked "What was the difference between a regular Ford Mustang and a Mach 1?" According to Motor Trend Magazine the "1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was available only on the fastback body—sorry, odd notchback—the Mach 1 package is distinguished by a matte-black hood decal, hood pins, a standard hood scoop, front and rear spoilers, and a louvered rear window." Is Windcharger anyone's blorbo?
So, similarly to when I was looking for characters to include as guest stars (for The Life and Times of Skywarp fic) and needed to write Sunstreaker for basically the first time, I got this idea today that I should include Windcharger because I needed more characters who were red and plausibly could be into Metal.
But then I'm like, What even is Windcharger known for?
Ark crew
dressed in a lab coat once
disguised as Wildrider once, though they have different alt-modes!
has black visor and/or blue optics
The other other other red car
On Earth was a 60s/70s Pontiac Trans-Am Firebird with louvered rear window
So, he's a pony-car
magic magnet-power arms
pulled Bee out of a chasm once
pulls other bots out of other places like swamps
Sometimes on Cybertron attended a special academy for outliers
Personal acquaintance of Optimus Prime
Possibly also personal acquaintance of Pyra Magna
Sometimes dies
Sometimes has like three different bodies that somehow get evil inside them and become Decepticons
allegedly Decepticons are really afraid of his magnetism
really good at sprinting, fast acceleration, and maybe braking
But his tag on AO3 was like so many supporting roles from what I could tell.
Is there not so much fanon about this bot?
Like, I can just say, yeah, he's a Metalhead with magnet powers and Deal With It shades whose into modding and cosplay?
Or is there more than meets the eye here?
Are there fics about him playing PIts & Predacons and/or accidentally getting mixed up with dark science and summoning Unicron? Or is that just yellow twins?

(via Brutalist Architecture in DeKalb County - DeKalb History Center)
Holy Trinity Parish Episcopal Church, 515 E. Ponce de Leon Avenue (1968)
This very modern church was the third structure on this site for Holy Trinity’s Congregation. The church was established in 1892 on the corner of Church Street and Trinity Place but purchased this site in 1928 for a new church. However, the small brick church seen in these photos was built in 1951. After WWII, the congregation experienced exponential growth (reflecting DeKalb’s expansion in the 1950s) and needed an even larger building, which was completed in 1958. In July of 1967, a fire gutted portions of the church complex and seriously damaged the church. In considering all options, the Reverend Hopper stated “…we do not want to be extravagant, but we do want to have a parish of which we will not be ashamed and that will aid us in doing an effective piece of work to further the Kingdom of God. Therefore we need a building that is functional, attractive and distinctive without frills, a force in our community and diocese.” It was designed by architect Louis H. Swayze and the groundbreaking was in December 1968. This Brutalist church was dedicated in October 1971.
Although modern in style, the 1968 sanctuary still echoes the gothic forms so loved by Episcopal congregations – inside and out. The exterior is formed by full-length corrugated cast concrete panels that are all the same width. The front is “broken” into four depths with setbacks, but is otherwise only punctuated by a trio of sharply pointed red doors with transoms. The sides and rear have narrow stained glass windows with small concrete louvers and hoods to help protect them. The entire mass of concrete sits atop a slightly smaller red brick two-story base which has narrow “arrow slit” windows.

1970 Ford Torino Cobra: Muscle Car Power and Elegance
The 1970 Ford Torino Cobra stands as a testament to the golden age of American muscle cars. With its aggressive styling, robust performance, and a range of powerful engines, the Torino Cobra cemented its reputation as a true street performer. Here’s a closer look at what made the 1970 Torino Cobra special and how it stacks up in today’s collector car market.
The Torino Cobra’s Bold Design
In 1970, Ford redesigned the Torino lineup, giving it a sleeker, more aerodynamic shape. The Torino Cobra adopted a fastback body style with clean lines and a slightly longer profile, emphasizing both speed and sophistication. Unique to the Cobra were blackout grille accents, functional hood scoops, and optional rear window louvers, enhancing its aggressive stance. It was available in a range of striking colors, with optional stripes that further showcased its performance-oriented nature.
The Cobra’s minimalist yet purposeful appearance set it apart from other Torino models. From the quad headlamps to its wide stance, every detail reflected its performance pedigree.
Interior Features and Comfort
Inside, the Torino Cobra blended simplicity with functionality. Standard features included a bench seat and a three-spoke steering wheel, though bucket seats and a center console were available as options for buyers seeking a sportier feel. The dashboard was straightforward, featuring a cluster of gauges to keep the driver informed during high-speed pursuits.
While the Cobra prioritized performance, Ford offered amenities like air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, and even power windows to add a touch of comfort and convenience to its muscle car formula.
High-Performance Powertrains
The 1970 Torino Cobra was built for power, and its range of engine options did not disappoint. The base engine was a 429-cubic-inch V8 producing 360 horsepower, but true enthusiasts gravitated toward the more potent options.
429 Cobra Jet: Rated at 370 horsepower, this engine included a four-barrel carburetor and plenty of torque for thrilling acceleration.
429 Cobra Jet with Ram-Air: An optional functional Ram-Air induction system boosted performance and added to the Cobra’s aggressive appearance.
429 Super Cobra Jet (Drag Pack): Featuring upgraded internal components and an external oil cooler, this engine produced 375 horsepower and was a top choice for drag racers.
All engines were paired with a standard four-speed manual transmission, though buyers could opt for a three-speed automatic. Additional performance upgrades included the Competition Suspension package, which enhanced handling with heavy-duty springs, shocks, and a front sway bar.
Performance and Legacy
With its high-performance engines, the Torino Cobra was a force to be reckoned with on the street and strip. Equipped with the 429 Super Cobra Jet, the car could achieve a 0-60 mph time of just over 6 seconds and run the quarter-mile in the low 14-second range. This made it one of the fastest muscle cars of its era.
The Torino Cobra was not just about straight-line speed. Its aerodynamic design and balanced chassis made it a capable handler, earning praise from critics and drivers alike.
Value of the 1970 Torino Cobra Today
The 1970 Ford Torino Cobra has become a coveted classic among muscle car enthusiasts. Its value depends on the condition, originality, and specific engine and options.
Grade 1 (Concours Condition): Perfectly restored or original examples with the 429 Super Cobra Jet can fetch between $90,000 and $125,000, while standard Cobra Jets range from $70,000 to $100,000.
Grade 2 (Excellent Condition): Cars with minor imperfections typically sell for $60,000 to $85,000.
Grade 3 (Very Good Condition): Well-maintained, driver-quality Cobras are valued between $40,000 and $60,000.
Grade 4 (Good Condition): Cars needing some cosmetic or mechanical work can bring $30,000 to $40,000.
Grade 5 (Fair Condition): Project cars or those requiring significant restoration often sell for $15,000 to $25,000, depending on completeness and options.
Why the 1970 Torino Cobra Stands Out
The 1970 Ford Torino Cobra is a true classic that embodies the spirit of American muscle. Its aggressive styling, powerful engine options, and balanced performance make it a standout in the golden era of performance cars. Whether appreciated as a show car or driven for the sheer thrill of its raw power, the Torino Cobra remains an enduring symbol of Ford’s commitment to muscle car excellence.
For collectors and enthusiasts alike, the 1970 Torino Cobra offers a rare combination of style, history, and performance, ensuring its place as one of the most memorable cars of its time.

This this car above is a sterling Nova and it is a mid-engine vehicle as you see it and it's really an old trick that our son built into the Cena but he didn't know that this was around but it's not fully done and our son and Dave have similar ideas he likes this but he wants to use the lights and have the air go out the light and vented on the side people like that in the middle would be an accent and people would wonder how it breathes and the intake is in front of the rear wheel and he would eliminate it and just use the intake up front which is close to what his looks like and it would have a channel that it runs in and there's a couple other things but you wouldn't see it he likes the rear window to a degree he wants it to be set down a little with some sides on it it does help it vent. This looks very intense however it needs to be a hardtop and the door looks terrible wherever the door is it's a major problem and of course it's not right but we would do it differently but you get the idea this is modernized the wheels are almost there radius and the body is more smooth and more modern looking and he said the silver makes it look kind of obscure and it would be the rear end of it looks intense but it's not completely done all the way we do it but it is intense it's very close to what we would be offering as a kit car. This is a very intense car and it's made from the langusta which is also Dave's car but we think that this particular alteration is fairly decent and we like it and we will probably make some minor modifications and include the Sterling window look because it does look intense and VG has that on his cars and people like it and that's the side window both sides and the front end looks great on this except we don't have to make the intake louver if you made an engine and he says that's an idea but it's too hard for people these days so we'd have to have the louver which makes it easier to create and to make it front engine to begin with which makes it easier to get going the time to do the gauges and things like that and you just wanted dashboard that you take the old one off and it's the foam on top and you put a new molded one on it fits over it and overlaps like an inch and covers it all the errors that you might make and voila and it comes with a cage and a frame and new interior and finishes now this would be an ideal car and the color is to match the name but no fun means no go and Nova and that's in Spanish people do not like the name. What it really says is pure no go. That's a translation and it has meaning for people who buy it and drive around now they did use this and Nova also is a different term it's for space and this was a show but they think of it as no go and the car that hit his mom of course we would rename it then and he says something funny and that's like a lobster he says languasteen. But it's kind of rude to bring back a supercar and name it the same thing although we'd be copying it so you more or less kind of have to but it would not be the Nova it would look like this and with some changes and more modernization and different modernization and we would incorporate his designs did he did on the Cena and it's his designs people know it but you would not see you that car in this one people have names and they throw it out there there's a whole bunch of names they want to name it and he has pretty much no clue what to name it it doesn't look like a Pontiac and it doesn't look like a Ford and is a bunch of code words you can use but really he doesn't have an idea of what to name it

1934 Dodge DR Convertible Coupe Former "Best of Show" -AACA Nationals- "First Place Winner" Meadow Brook Concours d'Elegance
The year is best remembered for Chrysler's daring - and ultimately disastrous - Airflow adventure, a design departure that never trickled down to the Dodge division. As a consequence, the 1934 Dodge lineup was typical of early 1930s styling, with flowing fenders softening the rectilinear lines of the vertical grille and straight-sided body panels. But Chrysler had already established itself as an engineering company, and the 1934 Dodge lineup shared some corporate technical highlights.
Chrysler had been first with the Hydraulic brakes, for example, a Chrysler first in 1928, and synchromesh transmission, in 1933. The 1934 Dodges rolled out with a new independent front suspension system, though it was discontinued in 1934 and didn't reappear until 1939. There was also an unusual lever-operated two-way vent window, which also disappeared after the 1934 model year. There were three trim levels and eight body styles in the Dodge lineup for 1934, all propelled by the same 3.7-liter flathead inline six-cylinder engine rated for 87 horsepower. Two convertibles were offered, a sedan and a coupe. Between them they accounted for just 1,589 units in Dodge division's total passenger car production for 1934, most of the (1,239) convertible coupes.
For 1934, the Dodge Series DR Deluxe was restyled and given a more streamlined and modern appearance. In the front was a new V-type radiator with skirted fenders in both the front and the rear. There were several hood louvers of descending length and large bullet-shaped chrome plated headlamps. The list of standard equipment included Delco-Remy ignition, hydraulic brakes, and a new independent front suspension. The car rested on an X-type frame and rode on steel spoke wheels. They had dual horns and a new 'leaping ram' type hood ornament.

1977 Pontiac Grand Am
The 1977 Can Am was an appearance option on a 1977 LeMans. The styling of the Can Am was inspired by the red/white/blue 1974 Pontiac Grand Am All-American show car. Ordering a Can Am required the dealer to order an F37 LeMans Sport Coupe (louvered rear quarter windows) in Cameo White. The dealer wrote code WW3 (Can Am) on the back side of the order form, and a LeMans Sport Coupe would be built with the following equipment;
T/A 6.6 Pontiac 400 engine (Oldsmobile 403 6.6 Litre was used in high altitude areas and California), power front disc brakes, power steering, Turbo Hydra-matic trans, Rally RTS Handling Package, Grand Prix instrument cluster, GR70x15 radials, white Rally II wheels, body colored outside mirrors, and blacked out grilles. All Can Ams were built at the home plant in Pontiac, MI. Completed cars would be shipped over to Motortown Corporation for conversion into a Can Am. Once there the hood was modified to accept a shaker hood scoop, a rear spoiler was added, multi-colored stripes and black lower body tape were applied along with Can Am decals. The process took approximately 72 hours. Completed Can Ams were then shipped from Motortown back to the Pontiac assembly plant and inserted into the regular distribution system for delivery.
Only 1,377 1977 Can Ams were produced.
