I don't know if framing people talking about israel as "masquerading as freedom fighters" in the current political climate is particularly fair or accurate
Okay. Do you have, perhaps, an actual reason why that would an unfair or inaccurate statement. I said something insulting in frustration over a political movement that, in my eyes, has achieved virtually nothing insofar as American military funding goes over the course of six months. Literally the only progress that seems to have been made is that Israel has successfully murdered enough civilians that even those very much invested in maintaining a country in the Middle East with a strong military and unseverable diplomatic and economic ties to the West are starting to question whether the bad PR is worth it. Perhaps you know more about this than me and have been following the news more closely- in that case, I would appreciate some evidence that the voice of American protestors and broad-range boycotts had some material effect on conditions in the West Bank. To my eyes, any change the American government is enacting can be more accurately attributed to not wanting to increase hostilities with Iran than wanting American leftists to start voting Democrat and put money into the military industrial complex. A couple meaningless corporations have pulled meaningless PR stunts, but the actual amount of money going into Israel has, as far as I am aware, not changed due to civilian pressure. And frankly, yes, I do think quite a lot of young and woefully historically illiterate Americans want to feel as though they have discovered a 100% perfect and just solution to a problem older than they are that they are utterly unaffected by. I've no doubt they are also capable of supporting causes I do not find justified if fed enough propaganda.
