Someone messaged my curiouscat recently asking about it, so I figured I'd make a post here as well, though this account is more or less invisible to the best of my knowledge:

All of my Dazai/Ranpo fanfics have been privated (and, not long after, I decided to simply private all of my BSD fics entirely), and they will not be unlocked until the spam fic situation on AO3 has been fixed. I have just started keeping a timer within the week to see just how many spam fics we get per day, and in the span of 48 hours, there were 18. This of course means that everything before that, and after those two days, makes the number obscenely high and the fact writers have to be buried under this bullshit constantly is hurtful and damages our motivation to keep writing. Especially for writers such as myself, who write for rarepairs.

Anyone who is familiar with 'rchimedes' or 'beastranpo' or 'rukimedesu' knows that i am more or less 90% of all the english fandom's content when it comes to Dazai/Ranpo. I'm always commissioning them, always writing them, have spent well over 60,000 dollars into merch and art of them, and counting. To have this love stepped on by careless, childish people who don't understand what the archive is even meant for fucking sucks, and to have these feelings brushed off as being sensitive or overreactive doesn't help either.

I didn't want my works to be associated with the current environment of the fandom because of their actions. This has been a growing problem for the BSD fandom and ignoring it is NOT going to help anything. It will just mean an even bigger problem will occur later. We can't keep turning a blind eye just because it doesn't affect us personally. Because when it does, and no one joins in to help or understands your frustration, you'll feel as if there's no point in staying in the fandom.

For my readers who are disappointed they can't read my works for the time being, I hope you will respect and support my decision. I have said this on my twitter already, but you are free to message me to ask for PDF's through email of my works until this is over with. A handful of readers have already done this already, way more than I ever expected, and I'm very grateful for the kind words.

For the time being, I have been posting all my DaRan fics on my patreon. Rest assured, it does not charge monthly, and only charges when I update main project chapters (Blooming Nexus), as I charge by those posts exclusively. Everything else is free to view at your leisure.

I have so many thoughts about senyuu PGR au mainly between the trio (alba, ross, ruki) I HAVE TO PUT IT SOMEWHERE. I can't think straight in class due to the brain worms this idea gave me.

Alba would be a commandant, a graduate from the same batch as Sica (I've forgotten a bit from PGR so if there's plot holes IDC). I thought up a squad name but it's lame (Red Fox LMAOO). His parents are in Babylonia since his dad would be a researcher and his mom would be an ex-commandant (if that's possible... If not, then she died in duty.)

Alba's personality would be more alike to his part 2 self. But is a true rookie commandant. I'm sort of in love with my design of him (although barely changed...)

(Some concept sketches I did at school.. Change lightning attacker to lightning tank)

He was assigned to Ross, a "Babylonian" construct. Ig Babylonia was really desperate. His frame (which I consider an A rank although that does not matter) is similar to his part 1 fit with a bit of mech parts here and there. This frame is considered new and his S rank would be his old frame (more creasion like with Ross elements implemented). by old frame, the frame that was created by rchimedes. I would like to think that his back story would be: Ross is born pre golden era and ofc with rchimedes and his crazy research that would dabble in whatever? Would probably deal with some hidden research and illegal experimentation that would involve both sion and crea. Crea would have good affinity but because of a mistake would be discarded and rchimedes would do some insane shit and use leftovers of crea's to experiment with sion. (I do love "good father" rchimedes... But someone's gotta be evil).

Things happen that led to the death of rchimedes and sion soon shuts down (but not dead! Why?... 😒) he soon will be discovered by gray ravens and be brought to Babylonia (I'm thinking of it being a similar case to camu or Noah?) Punishing levels wouldn't be too high... And that's that. (I'm debating to whether to make crea alive or dead in this au, because I think if we put crea through the same thing Selena did... Maybe he has a chance of reviving!)

Isn't it kinda insane for a rookie to be assigned with a potentially dangerous construct? Don't think too deep into it 😁 I do think Sica and Alba would get along well! They are similar after all. Also I think Ross and Vera are quite similar? Not only based on their sadistic tendencies but also... Well their mental baggage? I don't think they'll get along well though... But after hanging out a bit they'll realize, "ah I see... I can understand that"

Moving on to Ruki, Red Fox is dispatched for a low stakes mission on earth after things settle down with the main plot of PGR. They'll unexpectedly meet with an awakened machine, Lumiere or Ruki lol. "Shikikan-san, should we eliminate her?" "Are you insane?! Can't you see she's a little girl?" "... "

I haven't thought too deep into Ruki though... I wanted to make a fan fiction so I thought I'll think about it throughout... Well it's not I'll go through with it (lol) ah but thinking about (REDACTED SCENARIO) makes mee feel bitter sweet... I want to make parallels to the original senyuu..

I think Red Fox would be infamous with rumours of "the commandant always get back with tons of injuries even if the mission has nothing to do with fighting" "I worked with them and they felt like a comedy duo" "them lasting longer than iris warbler is surprising" "the construct is scary and the commandant is way to loud"

(Which make me think... Constructs aren't allowed to harm their commandants right? How would Ross survive without punching Alba? Well I think Ross would find a loophole somehow)

Lastly, how I think the two (later on three!) Would interact with the Gray Ravens!!!

I think with Ross calling Alba "commandant-san/shikikan-san" the sudden drop of politeness with the gr commandant would surprise Alba the most. With Ross going "the gray Raven commandant... Too long... Can I call you ravendant instead?" He gets a smack to the back.

I think skk would be introduced to them through liv bringing them up... Something like... "Oh commandant, have you heard the rumours?" With her stating her opinion, "well I hope they would last long."

Ah I ran out of juice to write more!

"Are you alright? You just took a hard hit."

"Don't worry! It only cracked my ribs!"

Only? That sounds serious!

Oh, cracked ribs? That's fine then <<

"Yup so don't- WAIT A MINUTE!"

i've dedicated years to drawing him so i'm happy to hear this! my interpretation of the character is strong in my mind due to that and other factors, but i find myself dissatisfied with how he's portrayed at times (or rather... when he was way back). it's not that serious as i make it tho. it is a gag series after all so i like to play fast and loose with characterization

if i had to say one thing, he's def one of the more evil demons! i want people to internalize that... there's free agents like juli and april (though april is very self serving), dezember was hyperfocused on rchimedes, but most of everyone reformed after the original run. noin on the other hand, i don't think he even had any interest in rchimedes. i have no idea why he acted as dezember's right hand man to the point of recruiting half the team on his own. my own personal opinion is that he probably just wanted to be respected and feared in his own right. so being an underling of rchimedes would have earned him an importance and free pass to do evil shit. i don't think he liked the idealistic society second enforced

so basically, if he had a chance to jump right into doing bad things, he absolutely would. the others seem to just want to chill. dez in particular will only mobilize if rchimedes is involved. also noin's personality is very, very bad. even when he's hanging out with the other demons he's got a piss poor attitude, i love it. dude has the shittiest personality probably behind some one off characters

OP, I hope you understand that you have unleashed a monster considering how many BSD fics I consumed. But that said, I'll try to keep it short and strictly gen for this ask, then just reblog with the rest (some do have implied ships, though). Most of them are just fluff and one-shots. And I haven't really read much fanfic recently, so most of these are my bookmarks from before I even really got into this blog and my memory on them might be shaky; generally, I either liked them because good writing, good characterization, good analysis, and/or it was just too funny/too interesting to not bookmark. Some might have Americanisms/Westernisms of things that probably don't really happen in Japan (probably?) and some might have slight character assassinations, but I don't think anything should be too gratuitously unforgivable. Also, all opinions are my own and do not reflect on either the writing or the author's original intent.

So under the cut are my absolute favourite of favourites.

Morning Light (18021 words) by FallenBrie (time loop, Atsushi character exploration, ADA!found family)

O expectations, stale and dismal airs, leave this body of mine! (20976 words) by aptlydapper (3 chapters, still my all-time favourite bsd fanfic for the writing and the concept and its execution, Chuuya joins the ADA basically but so much more than that to me)

Conundrum (23921 words) by AdmiralTDeVanto (hi, I love this AU so much, role-reversal where aku and atsu are the older figures and dazai and chuuya are the younger ones, some other au roleswaps happen but that's a surprise)

circle of praise (1898 words) by Oxalisalis (have a few by this author (love their works so much, they have some great BEAST things), basically compliment assault, ADA family, sweet and funny)

The Scent of Milk Tea (1343 words) by Sternstunde (Atsushi and Chuuya are housemates, neither is aware of the other's job, please let them meet in canon, 2 chapters and unfinished)

Reason To Live (1746 words) by Allwalkfree (time travel fic with a take on akutagawa's future character arc that left me DEAD, just...him being better than the people he was taught by okay? and him having a clearer picture of the stuff he went through etc)

hell is empty (all the devils are here) (1065 words) by Origamidragons (legit one of my FAVOURITE Gin character explorations, shoutout to the use of her character's irl short story)

in the end, you write your verse (6858 words) by Origamidragons (ADA and PM role swap and it's honestly SO GOOD that I desperately wish there was more of this (in a this fic is INCREDIBLE way, that is))

In The Choice, There's Peace (2561 words) by treetrunkdaddy (chill vibes, fic that explores Atsushi's character so nicely to me through how he copes with anger)

Mark of a Teacher (527 words) by Seito (Kunikida has been framed as a terrorist apparently and his students see the news headlines, it's hilarious and just fun)

A Study From Stripes (teach me to be loved again) (29684 words) by MidnighttWriter (beloved fic with beloved writing, Atsushi trauma exploration, might feel a little dark or emotional for bsd (in a different way, since BSD doesnt exactly shy away from being emotional or dark) but honestly beloved and SUCH a fascinating Atsushi character study to me)

would you believe me if i said i was blinded by the light? (1203 words) by elijay (half-blind Dazai real to me, but no its a really neat headcanon and that's all the fic is, which is all i wanted)

good bones (838 words) by Quintessence (I LOVE THIS SO MUCH, another Atsushi has a lot of trauma and the agency is flabbergasted)

5 Times Dazai Didn’t Understand Math And The 1 Time Kunikida Tried To Do Something About It (3746 words) by zededs (math is difficult, so is Dazai, Kunikida is stressed out, just a funny story)

how to get away with murder (10000 words) by magdalenes (11 chapters and unfinished, but it's SO SO good, the author is setting up the mystery so well, and it's basically just....detectives doing detective work but possibly also avoiding other detectives, more plotty than charactery)

what is a name (640 words) by Seito (guys, seriously, read this, im serious it has SUCH a good theory and the IMPLICATIONS of this to the larger bsd story????)

a secret for a secret (2302 words) by Oxalisalis (another of my FAVOURITE Gin fics, this author DELIVERED so well on their characterisation, slight canon divergence but perhaps not?)

But yeah. Because I somehow ended up opening over 130 tabs (that was after narrowing things down. i am so normal about BSD) for this ask, I'll just....reblog with more for those who are interested in gen fics. (It's why it took me a while, apologies.)
