List of Latino actors in Star Trek
I'm assuming that this is asking for a list of Latino actors in Star Trek, and since we're nearing the end of Hispanic Heritage Month, I compiled an incomplete list of Hispanic and Latine Actors in Star Trek.
Firstly, there are various main cast members:
Robert Beltran: Plays Chakotay in Voyager and Prodigy, Mexican-American
Roxann Dawson: Played B'Elanna Torres in Voyager, Puerto Rican
Zoe Saldaña: Played Nyota Uhura in the AOS films, Dominican/Puerto Rican
Wilson Cruz: Plays Hugh Culber in Discovery, Puerto Rican
Blu del Barrio: Plays Adira Tal in Discovery, Argentinian-American
Santiago Cabrera: Plays Cristóbal Ríos in Picard, Chilean
Noël Wells: Plays D'Vana Tendi in Lower Decks, part Mexican
Rylee Alazraqui: Plays Rok-Tahk in Prodigy, Argentinian-American
Melissa Navia: Plays Erica Ortegas in SNW, Columbian-American
And then there's those playing more minor roles. I mostly kept to those that played named characters.
Perry Lopez: Played Esteban Rodríguez in TOS, Puerto Rican
Ricardo Montalbán: Played Khan Noonien Singh in TOS and films, Mexican
Percy Rodríguez: Played (Commodore) Stone in TOS, Afro-Portuguese
Ned Romero: Played Krell, Anthwara, and Chakotay's grandfather in TOS, TNG, and Voyager
George de la Peña: Played Solis in TNG, Argentinian-American
Carlos Ferro: Played Dern in TNG
Cástulo Guerra: Played Mendoza in TNG, Argentinian
Frank Luz: Played Odan in TNG
Benito Martínez: Played Salazar in TNG, Guatemalan-American
Gina Ravera: Played Tyler in TNG, Puerto Rican
Marco Rodríguez: Played Paul Rice and Telle in TNG
Benita Andre: Played Anara in DS9, Guatemalan-American
Carlos Carrasco: Played D'Ghor, Bahrat, and Krole in DS9 and Voyager, Panamanian-American

Michelle C. Bonilla: Played Bu'kaH in Enterprise, Chicana
Josh Cruze: Played Ramírez in Enterprise
Efrain Figueroa: Voiced universal translator in Enterprise
Hilde Garcia: Played Rossi and various background characters in Enterprise and Voyager, Cuban-American
Ricky Luna: Played Carlos in Enterprise
Ada Maris: Played Erika Hernández in Enterprise, Mexican-American
Enrique Murciano: Played Tolaris in Enterprise, Cuban-American
Marco Sanchez: Played M. Romero in Enterprise
Geno Silva: Played Vrax in Enterprise, Mexican-American
Clifton Collins Jr.: Played Ayel in the AOS films, Mexican-American
Amanda Arcuri: Played Val Sasha in Discovery, Argentinian/Italian
Ache Hernández: Played Kyheem in Discovery, Cuban
Xavier Sotelo: Played Diego Vera in Discovery
Sol Rodríguez: Played Teresa Ramírez in Picard, Argentinian
Carlos Alazraqui: Plays Les Buenamigo in Lower Decks, Argentinian-American
Gabrielle Ruiz: Plays Lemonts, Castro, and T'Lyn in Lower Decks, Mexican-American
Melissa Villaseñor: Plays Nandi in Prodigy
Carlos Albornoz: Played Buckley in SNW, Latino-Canadian
Oscar Moreno: Plays Zuniga in SNW, Columbian
#Star Trek#Trekking across the universe#Trek Hispano#This was originally in some sort of a neat order but that kind of disappeared#I stuck to actors for whom I could find some sort of direct reference to being Hispanic/Latine

4th Panit Bukog art show opens Nov 7-9 in 3 Oro venues
#PHinfo: 4th Panit Bukog art show opens Nov 7-9 in 3 Oro venues
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Nov. 6 - The Panit Bukog Exhibit returns to Cagayan de Oro City this November after 16 years.
This collective and collaborative endeavor, by the National Committee on Visual Arts of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the National Union for the Restoration of the Environment, Inc. (NATURE, Inc.), showcases Mindanaoan realities through the artists’ craft.
On its fourth installment, this year’s exhibit will display a variety of works, from wall-bound pieces, sculpture, installation, performance to video, animation, digital image and multi-media art forms.
Taking its name from the Visayan term for skin, panit, and bone, bukog, the exhibit will center on essential and unique Mindanaoan realities lived and immersed in by participating artists.
Through curatorial visits and conversations with artists right in their milieus, the curators selected artworks that reflect the initiatives to pursue peace and preserve the environment in Mindanao.
The exhibit, on view until Nov. 30, highlights the transformative power of art and the critical role of artists in Mindanao’s vibrant cultural landscape.
With these themes at its core, the exhibit will define Mindanao’s concept of peace, underscore the intimate relationship between peace and the environment, and convey issues of ownership, control and use of the regions’ natural resources. Further, it will underscore art and the artists’ crucial responsibility in addressing these issues.
The curatorial team includes the University of the Philippines assistant professor of Art Studies Tessa Maria Guazon, visual artist Errol Balcos, and UN-Habitat Country Programme Manager Cris Rollo.
Guazon is the curator of the Philippine Pavilion at the 58th International Art Exhibition at the Venice Biennale. Balcos is the current Northern Mindanao coordinator of NCCA’s National Committee on Visual Arts, while Rollo is former Head of the National Committee for Visual Arts and co-founder of the Panit Bukog art exhibit. Owen Jaen of 9000 events provides logistical support as Project Manager.
Besides the exhibit, Panit Bukog 4 will conduct art talks where artists share their passion and process, and workshops for opportunities to hone artistic talents among participants.
Exhibits will open at Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan’s Museo de Oro (Nov. 7), Capitol University’s Museum of Three Cultures (Nov. 8), and SM Downtown Premier (Nov. 9).
Panit Bukog is designed as a traveling exhibit since it began in 2000, moving from Cagayan de Oro to Iligan in 2001 then Davao in 2002. The fourth installment looks forward to advancing the artistic advocacy for Mindanao’s peace and environment.
This year’s artists come from the cities of Cagayan de Oro , Davao , Iligan, Dipolog, General Santos, Pagadian and Zamboanga while some of them are from the provinces of Bukidnon, Cotabato and Bukidnon.
