Help request to Rayman and retrogaming fans
Unfortunately, as much as Iâm making efforts in solving my long-term unemployment situation there are things out of my control and I reached a point I really, really, need help.
Besides my grandmaâs recent passing, thereâs been a collection of unlucky events happening to me and my family in a small time interval. Both our dish washing machine and my Nintendo Switch Lite need to be repaired. The console stopped turning on regardless what I do and itâs out of warranty already. The consoleâs fixing, alone, can be up to 103⏠according to the Iberian Nintendo support page).
But the worst case was our carâs âdeathâ. Days after my grandmaâs funeral, the car burnt its electronic system to the point of replacing that system being more expensive than the current value of the car of the same model without problems, meaning we were forced to replace the whole vehicle to a different model. The car is essential for our quotidian lives even for simple things such as doing groceries and buying food and cat litter for our seven small felines that we own. The latter unpredictable expense is very costly and adds a bigger layer of problems on my familyâs end about financial management given that my mother is also jobless and thereâs the bed replacement (done in January 2024) funds I want to also return to her whenever I manage.
2025 is going to be a difficult year for me and I already recently had to shrink down my Crash Bandicoot collection to a single item for a start but itâs still not enough. Now I had to make a very difficult decision of selecting personal items from my private Rayman collection and make them available to anyone in the Rayman and retrogaming fan community to be able to purchase in case they show interest in any particular object.
Please note the following details:
Products that are shown alongside with other product or more in the same photograph square means that those items are only sold as a pack/batch and not separately. I can clarify which ones by DM if you arenât sure through the photographs.
I ship to most countries in the world, and always with tracking code so weâre both able to know its whereabouts. I wonât accept other types of shipping due to safety reasons.
The shipping address and other sensitive information will be exclusively used to ship the parcel.
Prices will be always discussed by DM, as well shipping costs as these vary depending on the destination country and parcel weight.
PayPal only for payments. While I prefer EUR currency I can also accept GBP and USD.
Iâm conscious of how a good portion of the list contains particularly rare and valuable collectibles.
Some items prices are negotiable, especially if someone is interested in acquiring at least 3 different items or more that combined make up a significant total.
All items work 100%, including the Playstation accessories.
The Rayman memory card will be formatted if it gets a new onwer.
MS-DOS era games require emulation techniques to work on modern computers and there are community projects like Rayman Control Panel that help with that.
All games are complete in the box and between very good condition to like new.
The Rayman memory card is in good overall state.
The statues are like new and will be packed carefully to avoid transportation damage.
I can consider including the matching Switch videogame to the pack if I get a fair offer.
I reserve the right to not accept a sale for reasons not mentioned here.
List of items available in the photos:
Rayman Gold [PC/MS-DOS] (Rare, Original Big Boxed United Kingdom Edition)
Rayman For Ever [PC/MS-DOS] (Rare, Original Big Boxed France Edition, it even includes a Ubisoft catalogue with unique Rayman drawings)
Quick CD-ROM Demo NÂș2 - Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc [PC/Windows]
Rayman M [PC/Windows] (United Kingdom Edition, still factory sealed!)
Rayman Rush [Sony PlayStation] + DualShock Controller [Sony PlayStation]
Rayman 2: The Great Escape [PC/Windows] (Very rare, Original Big Boxed United States of America Edition; I only saw maybe not more than 2 copies like this for sale online in over 15 years)
Rayman 100 Niveaux Inédits [PC/Windows] (Rare, Original Big Boxed France Edition)
Rayman Designer [PC/Windows] (Rare, Original Big Boxed France Edition)
Rayman 1 [PC/Windows] (Rare, Original Big Boxed European Edition)
Rayman Gold [PC/Windows] (Rare, Original Big Boxed France Edition)
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc [PC/Windows] (The manual is translated in Portuguese but the games are in multilanguage)
Rayman 2: The Great Escape Sony Playstation Memory Card (Guillemot brand, uncommon item)
Rayman Raving Rabbids [PC/Windows] (Original United Kingdom Edition)
Rayman Raving Rabbids Activity Centre [PC/Windows] (Original United Kingdom Edition)
Rayman 2: The Great Escape [Sony Playstation] (Original France and Germany Edition)
Full collection of 4 medium-sized PVC statues of Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle characters

Other alternative ways to help me that donât involve buying my Rayman items:
Ko-Fi donations (https://ko-fi.com/haruka_vii)
Currently opened with the goal Iâve referred earlier of collecting enough funds of the bed replacement expenses to return to my mother combined with the needed funds to be able to send my Nintendo Switch Lite for repair.
Art commissions
I can open a limited number of slots and draw single or groups of characters in a single digital or traditional drawing. Details can be discussed through DM!
Reblogging and sharing
If you know anyone who could be potentially interested in getting anything please share them, itâs also a help!
I donât like to ask help but itâs been a rough timeline for me. Thank you for reading in advance, any help is greatly appreciated while I donât manage to find a job. đ

'Rayman 2: The Great Escape'
[N64 / PC] [GERMANY] [MAGAZINE] [2000]
"It's Good To Be The King" is the name of a 1999 song by the French pop group Royal.V. A collaboration between Ubisoft and Sony Music Media, it was created as a promotional single for the launch of Rayman 2. Adapted from Mel Brooks' 1981 novelty single "It's Good To Be The King Rap", the lyrics describe Rayman's heroism and abilities. The music video featured animations of Rayman and clips from the game integrated with live-action footage of Royal.V, and was released at the end of September 1999. Vinyl and CD copies of the single were released two to three weeks before the game's launch at the end of October 1999. Rayman and Rayman 2-inspired artwork were featured on the CD and vinyl packaging, with the CD including a demo of the game. Royal.V was comprised of two members, rapper Vince McClenny and singer Jamel KADA-RABAH. The group was formed in 1998 and signed a 3-album deal with Sony Music. "It's Good To Be The King" was their debut, but after recording a 17-track album, disagreements between Royal.V, their management and the label caused the album to become permanently shelved and their contract to be terminated. Jamal died on November 11, 2021. On December 16, 2023, Vince McClenny released a new single, "It's Still Good To Be The King". ~RayWiki

you posted this on bsky but im messaging you here for whatever reason the thing about skull and bones thats funny to me is like ubi soft cannot capitalise off of a success to save their lives. basically every time they have a game that gets a warm reception outside of their usual "its fine" they like never properly follow it up or fuck up the follow up
blood dragon, watch dogs 2, black flag, siege, for honor, modern raymans, lost crown
no sequel, bad sequel, skull and bones is shite, the expansion is bad, no sequel, no sequel, no plans for sequel(?)
it's astounding how far ubisoft have fallen since the height of the 7th gen. pretty much everything they put out was at the very least good or interesting, but since ac4 it's all been fairly hit and miss, trending more towards missing as time goes on.
far cry 6 sucked, ass creed japan keeps being delayed, siege has been on a downward slope, xdefiant never took off in a big way, watch dogs legion was a mess, star wars outlaws was a mess, skull and bones is over-budget and under-cooked, rayman is nft garbage, the list goes on
even when they made a pretty good prince of persia game it had no impact because they didn't market it. at least trackmania is still alive, although that's thanks to nadeo and not ubisoft. what a mess of a company.

No I completely understand what you mean about Rayman. Ubisoft simply saw what worked with Rabbids and had another studio work and build off it.
Thereâs little to no consistency between Raymanâs games, tone, lore or characters. So far the most consistent things are Rayman, Globox, Murfy and Teensies. If youâre not them then youâll be lucky to ever reappear again. Like Betilla appeared in the early games and spin-offs then disappeared, reappeared in Origins with a major redesign and then disappeared again in Legends lol. Mr. Dark the major antagonist of the first game with so much potential then just disappeared only to suddenly come back with an awesome redesign in Rayman Mini but still I donât know what heâs all about. I understand Bowser and Eggmanâs personality and goals thanks to subsequent games but not Mr. Dark.
Gameplay wise itâs all different too, Rayman 1 is a 2D side scroller that difficult. Rayman 2 was originally gonna be a 2D game that built off of 1 but thanks to Crash Bandicootâs success they pivoted to 3D. Then Rayman 3 kinda builds off of 2 but with more combat mechanics. Then Origins and Legends comes and itâs 2D again but with more of a focus on Speed.
Heck honestly I think I can overlook the inconsistent lore if the ensemble cast was consistent. If Raymanâs friends from Rayman 2 made regular appearances in 3, Origins and Legends then it would not be too noticeable for me.Like look at Sonic I have no clue how the Sonic world works sometimes Iâm not even sure itâs on earth. Yet whatâs always consistent is Sonicâs friends.
Even with Globox, Murfy and Teensies thereâs inconsistency in their lore and appearances. Granted itâs not as wild as Betilla suddenly having sisters but they do behave differently in each appearance
I think depending on game/universe itâs either set on Earth or some alien planet where furries are the norm , sometimes maybe both? Sonic is a good example actually in that you donât need to have each game be on the same timeline (or even be in the same universe) to keep consistency, just that you should be able to jump into most entries in the series and have a basic understanding about the important aspects (the characters, their relationships and motivation) when playing a different entry. With Rayman, you may as well be picking up two games from completely different franchises
Itâs a double edged sword though, because if you try to keep every game connected to each other you could end up with the opposite issues that plague Kingdom Hearts, or that official Zelda timeline
If I was in charge of a hypothetical Rayman project and I could do whatever, I wouldnât do a 4th game. Instead Iâd go the direction of crash bandicoot n sane trilogy and remake the first 3 main games with rebooted lore to better connect the three (such as Teensies in the first game or Betilla appearing in 2 and 3)

The RayClone Theory: Why It Could Be Possible
(Massive Spoilers for CLH below) Tw: Ab//se, Imprisonment, D3ath, Really Bad Pacing on My Part <3
With me thinking about this way too much, Iâve come up with a thought. Have you ever wondered why the CLH Rayman is so⊠different from his in-game persona?
No, itâs not because it's a remix. Think deeper. Examine them under a microscope.
It could be because⊠theyâre not the same person.
Now, this may sound like another silly cartoon theory, but hear me out. I have⊠proof. Aka overanalyzing, but school taught me to do that.
So, what is the RayClone Theory? Well, to put it simple, the Rayman we see in the show isn't the âfirstâ Rayman. Thereâs been many in the past. Many, as in 5 or so. How? Thatâs what this post is for. So, let's go back to the beginning. Mushing both Rayman and CLH lore alike.
To make this simpler, weâre gonna establish a rule. Referring to all the Raymen in the show as âRaymanâ is very, very confusing. So I will make a list:
OG Rayman - Rayman CLH Rayman - Ramon Rayplacement - Fakeman
Get it? Got it? Good. Letâs start.
According to the Rayman lore, Rayman was created with one purpose in mind: To protect the Glade (or, in this case, Dimension X). He was created for one thing only. To protect. To be the âheroâ.
In the games, heâs never failed before. He thrives and beats the bad guy. But remember, this isnât the games. Itâs a remix. A what-if. This leads into:
What if Rayman failed? What does he do then?
And not like, fails as in Rayman 2, fail as in royally fucked up. Fail as in, the closest one to him dies by âhis handâ. No, not Globox, he was considered alive by Adi. But you know who he didnât confirm?
Betilla the Fairy.
You could be thinking: âDuh, of course she wasnât mentioned. He was being broad.â, but he mentioned Razorbeard. His ass wasnât relevant since Rayman M. So why mention him, but not Raymanâs literal mom??
Because she's not alive.Â
Eden (and America) has always been a resource hungry society. Itâs human nature. In this timeline, society progresses much quicker than in the real world (flying cars in 1992). Progress needs resources. Have you ever noticed that Eden is barren of all plant life? Itâs because Eden (or America) used it all for industrialization.
How does this relate to Rayman? You know how the Glade of Dreams is a lush forest? Resources from massive jungles to deep oceans to towering mountains? Imagine what a power-hungry company (or companies) would do if they discovered this.
*Insert How Bad Can I Be Here*
The creation of the Super-Scope mustâve been revolutionary. The ability to travel to other dimensions with one click of a trigger. Resources galore.
Sarah Fisher mentions in ep2 that the Golder Super-Scope was stolen from Edenâs labs. So, whatâs stopping Eden from creating this material? Nothing. Thatâs what.
Eden, still a sorta underground company, creates this gun and finds Dimension X. Filled with lush resources ripe for the picking. The critters of the Glade donât know their âbad guysâ. They donât look inherently bad. So they leave them be.
Rabbids. The little bunny fellas.
The Kaiju monsters in the show. How does that become a monster? Itâs easy. Toxic chemicals. Not just any toxic chemicals, but Edenâs toxic chemicals from polluting the Glade.
Iâm getting distracted, back to Rayman.
Kaiju Rabbids started popping around Dimension X. They started small and inefficient until they got bigger and bigger. Rayman took care of them, yes, but one day, he got absolutely bombarded by a hoard of Rabbids.
A massive war broke out between the citizens of the Dimension and the Rabbids. No one knows how it started because Eden left after it got all it needed.
Rayman, having âhero-ingâ literally coded into him, fights back. Others help, yes, but itâs mostly Rayman doing the fighting.Â
This leads into Betilla, and how she died.
Rayman was getting jumped by Rabbids, so she came in to save him, risking her life as a result. Yes, her sacrifice did stun the Rabbids and cause them to flee into the depths of Dimension X, but Rayman feels like heâs one to blame.
No one really fully âdiedâ in the games. Sure, they got kidnapped, possessed, you name it. But no explicit deaths besides villains.
So, imagine what that does to a guy when his first, full on death witness was with his creator, his mother.
He doesnât take it too well.
Yes. Rayman was a hero and drove out the Rabbids, but he didnât save everybody. He couldnât save his mom.
He failed.
Lost and confused, Rayman runs to find⊠something. He runs away, something heâs never done before. He never backed down from a fight. So why is he now?
Well, because heâs scared. Scared for his life and others.
Betilla saved him with her own life. She died because of him. Heroes are supposed to be giving the sacrifice. Not receiving it.
Rayman blames himself. If heâs out of the picture, then no one else would risk their life for his.
The art book says that they destroyed the dimension, but Globox, the Teensies, and even Razorbeard are alive, so the dimension canât be unlivable. So what if this use of âdimensionâ was less literal?
This may sound far-off, but Raymanâs âdimensionâ could be talking about Betilla. She created him, so she is his âdimensionâ.
This transition into Eden! Or, America currently.
Rayman goes into America looking for a fresh start. To find his purpose. He failed his original purpose (which was to be a hero and save everybody), so he blocked out everything that happened originally to start a fresh start.
Or, every immigration story ever. Leaving behind what you loved for a better start.
He needed a new purpose. And that purpose is to be an entertainer!
His origin in America is the same as the show. He goes to college, gets outcasted, and rises with Eden.
Things are different here than with Ramon. Rayman is⊠less constricted here.
Back when Eden was new (most likely had good intentions), they werenât worried about Rayman finding the truth. There was no truth to find. So Rayman was allowed to explore, make friends, talk to people and hybrids below his social class.
One day, he met a hybrid journalist. One of the lower-income hybrids, but a very strong writer. Rayman admired their work, being a news reporter and all, and the two became really good friends, even with him getting them a job at Eden.
Then, the journalist goes snooping. Eden wasnât as terrible as it is in the present day, but it still did bad things. The hybrid craves justice (like any other journalist) and stations a revolt. It affects Eden, but nothing major except getting the journalist put in jail.
Rayman finds out and goes to give his buddy a visit and to ask what happened. Rayman (still under the influence of Eden) explains that they shouldnât have revolted and that Eden is great. The hybrid shows him the articles and photos (which were disapproved by Eden so they werenât published) and explains their side of the story. Since the journalist was low-income, they experienced the biases and issues of Eden first hand.
Rayman obviously seeks the truth as well, promising that he could save the journalist. He goes to the Board of the Directors with the proof and articles, demanding an explanation. Not in a violent way like Ramon, but in a diplomatic manner.
(Keep in mind, Rayman has been questioning Eden in recent weeks from folks heâs talked with in his downtime)
Sound familiar? Of course it does. It happens in the show. Clones are still clones, yâknow?
The Board, unsure on how to react with their poster boy finding their fucked up ways, tells Rayman that theyâll explain tomorrow.
Rayman, still trusting of the Board, agrees and waits it out. The next day, he awakens, chained in a dingy room.
Why? Well, the Board knew that Raymanâs act wouldnât be as efficient if he knew what he was saying was bullshit. Think Disneyâs Bolt. So what do they do?
Try out their latest technology, of course. And that was a cloning device.
Now, you canât just clone Rayman. Heâs an alien. Not an organic lifeform. So, how did Eden approach it?
Lums. Take bits of Rayman, combine it with various animals, and boom. Almost perfect Rayman clone.
Clones are never perfect. Each one has an imperfection, little or big. And the Lums is what gives Rayman his main form.
So, chain him to the basement so heâs always on hand. Duh.
Rayman stays in that basement for at least 10 years. Sad, alone, and going insane. He canât die; heâs immortal. Eden goes through at least 4 or 5 different RayClones before landing on Ramon. Iâll go into Ramon in a bit.
When a RayClone is too imperfect or steps out of line, the Board sends one of the Niji 6 to eliminate them. This is shown by this line of dialogue:
âTaking care ofâ? What do they imply by that? Maybe it implies that they were sent to assassinate Rayman, or in this case, Ramon.Â
So, RayClone bodies canât exactly decompose. Yes, they can die and lose consciousness, but those Lums inside them donât allow the body to rot. So what happened to those bodies? Leave them in the depths of Eden to rot.
Back to Rayman, one day, he manages to slip his hand loose from the chains and free him. This happens when Ramon is just made. The Board orders the Niji 6 to hunt and bring back Rayman. During his escape attempt, Rayman accidentally causes an explosion âkilling himâ.
Weâre gonna pause his story and shift to Ramon.
Now, I wanna talk about his reaction to Red in ep3. Clones share the same memories as the original, but they donât experience it the same. Itâs like knowing something and actually being there.
The Rabbids attack, but Ramon isnât really stressed about them attacking. Was he that faithful in the Niji 6? Or was it something else?
Was it because he doesnât have that trauma about them?
When Red calls Ramon an âinterdimensional alien scum," Ramon bursts? Why? Because he experienced it. He experienced being belittled and talked down by his colleagues at work. He knows how it feels, so heâs pissed.
If Rayman was in his place, Rayman would be fidgety and panicky about the Rabbids and brush over Red insulting him. If anything, Rayman would be thanking Red for stopping them. Yes, Rayman was talked down in college and his early days, but the Rabbids changed his life.
You could argue that itâs because he had his cry before the cameras were running, but he shows no sign of that. No voice cracks or eye twitches. And the fight just happened, which explains the presence of Red.
Going back in time for a moment-
Ramon was the latest RayClone and the last one with the âdeathâ of Rayman. This makes Eden super protective over him and his opinion on Eden. Other RayClones in the past were either too disfigured to seamlessly become Rayman, or found / was close to the truth. They need to keep Ramon pure.
How does one keep something pure and untouched? Isolated them, of course!
(Note the use of the word âillusoryâ here)
This also explains the âEden-generatedâ scripts. Rayman wrote his own scripts. Rayman said his own opinion. Now, 10+ years later, Eden writes Ramonâs scripts. Ramon says Edenâs opinion.
If he was stripped of his freedom, then how would he be infected with the truth?
If he wasnât needed anymore.
This is where Fakeman comes in. I think Fakeman is Raymesis, due to those yellow eye highlights you can see in a split second.
The Board wasnât as faithful in Ramon as they were previously. He mightâve had some outbursts before ep3. They needed a backup. They canât clone him, the clone would be to fucked up. They needed another Rayman.
Remember the Rabbid invasion in ep2 / 3? While the Niji 6 was dealing with the kaijus, guess who was snooping around the Glade for a Rayplacement?
Raymesis was kidnapped and forced to work for Eden if he liked it or not. They werenât going to clone him yet, but to keep him in line, instead of acceptance (like they did with Rayman), they used threats.
This explains Fakemanâs uneasiness in ep6 with Retribution Day. That was his first big acting event, and the one Eden decided if heâs replacing Rayman on stage or in the basement.
Look at his face when itâs canceled. Bro looks scared shitless.
But Fakeman and his lore / personality is a whole ânother post.
Ramon follows the same path as Rayman. Seeing something unfair (Raymanâs friend getting arrested and Ramon losing his job), and doing something about it.
Itâs that Ramon is filled with vengeance and anger because his whole life was a lie.
Rayman is filled with doubt and confusion because he just refound his purpose, and that was a lie.
Raymanâs whole journey throughout this is finding his purpose. His original purpose was to âsave everybodyâ, and that failed. He went to America to find a purpose and did with Eden. In his character bio in the art book mentions this purpose line.
âEven happier that Eden gave him purposeâ. Why? Because he lost his original purpose! He felt he was nothing before Eden gave him everything. Heâs under the mindset that Eden gave him his meaning of life again.
They quite literally saved his life.
Anyway, what does Rayman do after his âdeathâ? Have an identity crisis of course! He was locked up for over 10 years, his brain is scrambled eggs at this point!
He failed his purpose for Eden, so he resorts back to his original purpose: Be a Hero.
But, what about the Rayman on TV? Is he the real one?
Raymanâs mindset is that he was created to be a hero. Heroes are brave, speak the truth, and rise up against bad. What is the Rayman on TV doing?
Heâs being brave, speaking the âtruthâ, and rising up against âbadâ.
Whatâs the real Rayman doing?
Heâs being a coward, secret about what he knows and saw, and hiding against the bad.
Heroes donât do that. So Rayman must be a fake. He must be the RayClone. Heâs the mistake. At least, thatâs what he made himself think.
Now, I wonât get into my ideas for Season 2. If people want it, sure. I will. But for now, Iâll leave it at that. This is 2200+ words, and Iâm grasping at the air at this point.
If you disagree? Great! If you donât? Great! Tell me your own thoughts / theories then!

The new Beyond Good & Evil remaster is so close to getting it but they still mess with the art style in annoying ways. The main thing seems to be a new lighting engine and redoing a lot of character models and materials (the textures that make up surfaces and how they are lit).
I appreciate the higher detail models, but a lot of the beauty of this game was how it (and Rayman 2) look hand painted. Adding realistic skin textures just makes it look like everybody's covered in sandpaper and I did not need to be able to see the thread count in jackets.
And the new lighting seems to wash out skin tones a lot more often, too. I saw some people crying that Jade has been whitewashed but if you look at the green parts of her clothes, it's just how the whole scene is color corrected now.
You got so close, Ubisoft! But, like... nobody is asking for 7% more realism in this art style. Either remake the entire game from scratch (don't) or leave the visuals alone. Technology is not a substitute for art.

If you're a Rayman fan and you play Roblox...
Check out Rayman Freedom by Boost1996 on Roblox! It's a pretty cool Rayman fangame where you get to explore, platform, fight enemies, and collect items while clashing against Rayman's latest foe: Techno Dark. As of making this post, the game's actually in its last prototype stage before the first alpha stage!
At the moment, it's currently got 1 world you can explore and find hidden secrets in, but as the game goes further into development, levels will be slowly added in, as well as other worlds. No worries--the game is in constant development and won't be left behind any time soon. Here's just a few of the things you can do...
Play as Rayman from Rayman 2 or Rayman 3, heck, Globox or even as the titular character: Freedom Rayman himself!
Destroy cages, fight enemies, and collect jewels to raise your score!
Explore the terrain and make use of the game's movement tech to traverse platforms!
And, here's a few screenshots as well~ My computer is a potato so it may not look as good due to my graphics settings, oops.
But yeah! As the game's still in development, if you'd like to provide any sort of feedback or suggestions, join the official Rayman Freedom Discord server here, too!

11. Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc (Ubi Soft Paris, 2003)
Watch my playthrough of this game here!
The second and last proper 3D Rayman adventure we've seen in 22 years, this installment features some solid platforming, a few unique (if a bit underutilized) combat mechanics, a satisfying new scoring system, and an edgier tone than its predecessors.
Gameplay-wise, this is still more or less the Rayman you know from Rayman 2: The Great Escape, but with a few new mechanics. Combat returns to the original Rayman's two-fist projectile system, but with a 3D twist; not only can Rayman literally throw a punch, he can also arc them left and right horizontally while strafing to circumvent enemy defenses. It's a great mechanic at its core, but its implementation is clunky due to the requirement to be moving in the direction you wish to arc your punch, and surprisingly few enemy types and object interactions make compelling use of it.
Supplementing the combat and platforming both is the new "laser detergent" system in which you can equip a timed power-up from stationary points in each level, temporarily enabling Rayman to do things like gradually electrocute enemies and swing from hanging hooks, deploy guided missiles, or knock enemies off stilts and retract tall platforms. Some types are more fun than others, but generally it's a neat way to add some dynamism to the gameplay.
This goes hand in hand with an additional layer known as COMBO MODE, an excellent addition to the gameplay which adds a score attack element to landing hits on enemies and picking up the game's collectable jewels; doing these things in quick succession nets you scaling additional point yields which factor into a ranking at the end of each of the linear stages (each of which have a "par score" of sorts to shoot for). Tagging power-up cans also doubles points earned throughout that power-up's duration. High scores in individual levels contribute to a game-wide cumulative score, and meeting certain total score thresholds unlocks a smattering of minigames. This simple addition adds an engaging new layer to the gameplay, as it encourages the player to consider how to chain actions together and the order in which to perform them. As it's implemented, I feel that the game could stand to feature more ways in which to keep these combos going, and the fact that some secret point caches (in the form of small creatures you need to either focus on in first-person mode or slowly sneak up on) require you to slow down enough for your combo to time out feels kind of counterintuitive to the design, but it's a fascinating system for a platformer nonetheless. Honestly, a lot more games in the platforming space should feature something like this.
Aesthetically, the game continues with the mystical runic aesthetic of Rayman 2, but with the antagonistic hoodlums' presence adding an additional layer of splintery wood and ramshackle structures I can only half-jokingly describe as "outhousepunk". The overall tone of the game leans far more into raunchy comedy than scenic whimsy, and whether this is a good thing or not will differ from person to person. Personally, I think it has its moments, but a handful of contemporary pop culture references stick out like a sore thumb and really date the experience. That said, the ramblings of Billy West in his performance as Murfy the flying tutorial frog and his spiel about "cahmbo mode" in the game's opening chapter have permanently wormed their way into my braincase over the years.
Rayman 3 is a bit of a mixed bag, but it's still got enough charm and interesting ideas to make for a good time. That said, there's a lot of untapped potential in its combat and combo mode mechanics, and more than two decades later, I still long for a new, more polished 3D Rayman title which iterates on these systems further. With Ubisoft reportedly having begun the exploration phase for a new Rayman project in 2023, perhaps Murfy's tongue-in-cheek promise of a proper "Rayman 4" will actually come true in the next handful of years.

In hindsight the Rabbids didnât actually âstealâ the Rayman series. As a kid I thought that but the actual answer is pretty mundane.
Every main Rayman game from Rayman 1 all the way to Rayman Legends has always been developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and Michel Ancel. Ubisoft Montpellier only developed 2 of the Rabbids games. Rayman Raving Rabbids and Rabbids Go Home. Thatâs only 2 entries in the Rabbids series which is nothing really. Keep in mind Rayman RR was originally Rayman 4 before they scrapped it.
Every other Rabbids game was made by Ubisoft Paris or other divisions of Ubisoft mainly by the studios who made the Just Dance series. Which makes sense cause most Rabbids games were mini game collection that were simple to create.
So what held Rayman up? From what Iâve seen nothing really tho the closest answer is likely that both Michel Ancel and Ubisoft Montpellier weâre busy on Beyond Good and Evil it was announced in 2008 and likely the entire team were focused on that. However if you know development trouble happened which held the studio up for quite some time. It was temporarily shelved which gave Ancel time to make Origins and Legends then he went back to BG&E 2 after Legends in 2017 where it was reintroduced but is now in development hell to this day.
Yep. I was young in an era when a major entry in my favorite game franchises could come out every year, or every other year. As I've gotten older, game dev has gotten more and more complex and lengthy due to a variety of factors. My awareness of that fact lagged behind the reality of it happening, but I am quite aware of it now, largely due to watching a lot of videos, reading a lot of articles and even having some friends at major studios.
I'm a Donkey Kong fan. Why has there been no new DK game in a decade? Has Nintendo totally given up on one of their major franchises? No, the rumors are that they leased it out to a third party studio, changed their minds, and started over in-house as they have a new vision for the DK series that they want to oversee. What's going on with Metroid Prime 4? Who knows. The game industry is such a mess I'm amazed we get any truly great passion projects out of major studios at all.
It's not as simple as "People want thing, make more of thing!" If fans want something, there are devs out there who want to make it too. Maybe even people for whom that series inspired them to get into the industry. But that doesn't mean it's going to end up happening. Still, it's why I think Rayman in the Phantom Show is so great, because the devs (at least a lot of the creative team) really did want to make it.
I feel like the idea that the Rabbids stole Rayman's franchise, and that Rayman died so the Rabbids could live, exists in that knowledge gap before understanding how complex everything is. Maybe it made sense for a time, but it really doesn't hold up to scrutiny now. Things aren't really a zero sum game like that, and so much has happened in the intervening years to contradict this idea.
It is funny, in my stream we were talking about how people don't really harp on this narrative so much anymore, with good reason... Only to have the most stereotypical "RABBIDS SUCK AND RAYMAN DESERVES BETTER" gamer show up like thirty minutes later, lol. Well, people will cling to the stories that help them make sense of the world, I suppose... Even if it makes them unhappy.

A help request (December 2024 update)
I'd like to start by thanking everyone who responded to the request for help I made in November regarding the problems mentioned in the post published at the time.
I was surprised by some generous donations on Ko-Fi that made all the difference in solving the most pressing problems and boosting funds. I managed to repair my Switch Lite, which has come back to life thanks to your help!
As soon as the previous Ko-Fi goal was reached, I opened a new one that seeks to raise funds to repair the dishwasher that needs a part replacement to work properly again and at the same time to return funds to my mother, who is unemployed like me, that she has lent me over the year for urgent expenses that have been external to the replacement of the cell phone and the bed. At the time of writing this post, the Ko-Fi target is at 8% and can be consulted and shared.
At the same time as I published the request for help, I made several photos of collectors' items, almost all Rayman related, available for sale in order to help me raise the funds needed to solve various problems. Although I've sold a minority, many other items are still available for purchase and so I decided to delete the descriptions and photos of items that had already been sold, and now also include from Pokémon and other generic items.
Alternatively to donations and item purchases, I have two art commission slots available until the end of this year.
Essentially due to the car replacement that had to be done as an unpredictable big expense, 2025 is going to be a difficult year for me and therefore I have come to the hard decision to shrink down part of my private collections as a way to obtain necessary funds and make the incoming year a little more manageable.
I donât like to ask help but itâs been a rough timeline for me. Thank you for reading in advance, any help is greatly appreciated while I donât manage to find a job. đ
The Elite Trainer boxes don't have boosters or codes
I reserve the right to not accept a sale for reasons not mentioned here.
List of items available in the photos:

Rayman For Ever [PC/MS-DOS] (Rare, Original Big Boxed France Edition, it even includes a Ubisoft catalogue with unique Rayman drawings)

Thank you for reading in advance, any help is greatly appreciated while I donât manage to find a job. đ

Intro Post :>
Hello! This account used to be dedicated to my long furby, Flashlight, but I abandoned it and have since returned to Tumlr just wanting a place to post whatever.
I have a tiktok and an instagram (both under the username pigeonpawz) where I post art, and I *may* post art here, but that's kinda unlikely since I already have accounts for that elsewhere.
About Me:
-I'm an artist and animator! I wanna be an animator/writer when I graduate (kinda like Alex Hirsch!) Wish me luck LMAO (probably gonna end up living under a bridge with the way the industry's looking rn đ)
-I am a furry and a therian (Crow and questioning another theriotype, this one's either a canine or feline of some sort). My fursona is a pigeon/griffin named Pidge.
-I have 2 long furbies now! I'm still very much into furbies and I only stopped posting about them because there's only so much I can post about with them. The second one was made by theoddbody on Etsy and is Frutiger Aero themed! I love both of my furbies very much (and have been thinking about fixing up Flashlight, as I made a few mistakes while making them).
Anyways uhhh idrk what I'll post. Sorry if you followed me for furby stuff bc I won't post much about that anymore. I'll leave up my old posts tho.

Ubisoft Confirms It's Exploring New Rayman Ideas Amid Report Of A Remake
Creator Michel Ancel is consulting on the platformer's next phase

The original Rayman is the game that put Ubisoft on the map. Itâs been over a decade since the last installment in the colorful platformer franchise, but the French publisher is currently in the âearly stagesâ of exploring what will come next for the seriesâ titular limbless hero.
âWe are pleased to confirm Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan have recently started an exploration phase on the Rayman brand,â a spokesperson for Ubisoft told Kotaku in an email. âThe project is still in its early stages, and we will share more details later.â While a new Rayman might not be ready for some time, the upcoming project seems to be more than just an âexplorationâ at this point.
Ubisoftâs statement came after Insider Gaming reported that a Rayman remake, codenamed âProject Steambot,â is in early development, and that former members of the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown team were moved to this new project after a sequel to that game was cancelled amid disappointing sales. Insider Gaming also reported that the original creator of Rayman, Michel Ancel, was consulting on the project, a move which rankled some developers at Ubisoft due to the former directorâs reputation for toxic leadership.
The director, who had also previously been heading up Beyond Good and Evil 2, left the company in 2020 amid accusations of bullying fellow developers and being difficult to work with. He denied the allegations at the time, though Kotaku understands that thereâs some lingering internal distrust among some employees over how the issues with Ancel were handled by the company.
âAs creator of the Rayman brand, Michel Ancel is being consulted to ensure consistency within the universe,â the Ubisoft rep told Kotaku. The company declined to clarify precisely what his role on the project is and whether his involvement was a request of the studios involved or a decision imposed on them by Ubisoft management, including CEO Yves Guillemot, a long-time friend of Ancelâs.
We havenât had a new Rayman since 2013's Rayman Legends, the series fifth installment, which received critical acclaim and went on to sell nearly 5 million copies across all platforms, including the Wii U and PlayStation Vita. While a remake of the 1995 Rayman wouldnât technically be a new game in the series, it would probably feel like one given the transformation the PlayStation 1 game would likely go through to revitalize it for modern audiences.
And honestly, Rayman fans would take whatever they can get at this point. The characterâs last appearance was in DLC for the Nintendo Switchâs Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, an excellent XCOM-style spin-off of a Rayman spin-off that nevertheless failed to meet Ubisoftâs internal sales expectations. That game was also made by the companyâs Milan studio, which is reportedly leading development on the Rayman remake, and whose creative director left earlier this year after 25 years of service to start something new.

64 Bit File Compression
*Played and Written in December 2022
Super Kiwi 64 has a unique quality to it and thus provides a certain service to society. For years I have been itching to play Banjo Kazooie once more to confirm that it is still a good game. Iâve had my suspicions that it might not hold up. I fear that there may be too much to collect and that the movement abilities may not hold up to the standards of today. I feel this way about a lot of games, but mainly 3D platformers of that era. Will I be satisfied with the standard jump and hover of Rayman 2 if I go back to it? I suspect I wonât be. I havenât played any of the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy just because I want to hold out hope that they are good and not guilty of the awkward and evil design that Iâve heard whispers of. Ignorance is bliss, so I choose to ignore the past, unless itâs games like Mario 64 or Spyro, which I know for sure hold up today.
Super Kiwi 64 enables my cowardly mindset while also satisfying my desire to delve back into the 1990âs. It is an N64 3D platformer made in 2022. It looks the part, it vibes like one, is structured like one, and the main character is pretty much a gene spliced abomination of both Banjo and Kazooie. Itâs surprisingly small. Like really small. But it still feels like I played a whole game. Itâs almost as if I mistakenly placed an N64 cartridge into my VCR, hit fast forward, and my mind magically read through all information of the game. I got almost an entire experience of the very thing this game emulates in under an hour. There are still multiple level motifs and gimmicks. There are still secrets to be found in each area that require curiosity. And these levels arenât really small either, you can just move around them way faster than youâd expect to be able to. This game has perfect control. With just the correct use of your basic attack, you can zip around the map and collect to your hearts content. There arenât many enemies to stop you, but itâs not like combat is ever the thing people play these games for. Thereâs an essential joy attached to dashing, climbing, and gliding across the zone. I would say it only lacks in having a final boss to cap off your journey. Other than that, itâs the perfect compression of the experience I crave and will return to this whenever Iâm in the mood play a Rare Platformer in the future.

Now for the dream sequel Rayman 2 film, well honestly Rayman 2 would still pretty much follow the same plot and beats of Rayman 2: The Great Escape but with a few changes.
For starters I would have a scene that takes place years ago where a planet mysteriously explodes as a pirate ship flies off the robo-pirates celebrate and decide to target their next planet to take all the crystals, Hillys (where Beyond Good and Evil takes place) until Razorbeard gets word of a powerful and valuable treasure called the Heart of the World on an unknown planet. So they change course from Hillys to Glade of Dreams. (There would be a funny little scene where they rudely pass by Ed from Tonic Trouble on his little space ship and it sets him off course)
Years pass and they make it to Glade of Dreams they donât waste time and attack. Rayman and friends try to fight them off but theyâre so unprepared by this surprise attack they get imprisoned. Like the game Rayman and Globox escapes and Betilla tells him before she gets captured to find The Bubble Dreamer. (He doesnât know what that means but heâs determined to figure it out)
Later heâll rescue Ly who tells him the whole deal with Bubble Dreamer and that must be Polokus hereâs where you learn a whole lot of lore. Pretty much the same find the four ancient masks to awaken him. Ly joins the group.
However another change here is that I would add in aspects from Legends so in his quest for the first mask itâs actually hidden in a underground tomb in a kingdom where Barbara resides in. The Robo-pirates catch wind of this and attempts to stop right there by just decimating Barbaraâs home and kidnapping her residents, friends and family. Rayman gets the mask helps her escape so out of gratitude and to save her kingdom sheâll join as well.
Now you have the full complete cast on a journey to find the rest of the ancient masks to reawaken Polokus: The Bubble Dreamer.

Whatâs your most favorite games
Geez, this is a hard question ; -; Because I like a lot of games to be honest...
So, the one I like the most at the moment is 'Corn Kidz 64' on switch. It's a retro styled platformer (not a coincidence, it will become pretty obvious I'm really into retro games). It's pretty silly, kinda difficult sometimes but to me at least pretty relaxing and engaging. The main character is a goat lol Tho, this game's humour might not be up everyone's alley :v
Other games I play most frequently on switch are Animal Crossing and Sky: Children of The light. Not much to say here, just cute cosy games to relax with.
Now let me think.... I played Oblivion a lot on my PC some time ago, tho, it was more messing around and exploring plus adding mods. I don't know, the storyline is interesting, but it's not my fault that then sights are so pretty for such an old game (even more so after I modded the hell out of it.) Plus the random things happening around the map make for some fun stories
I also played Sims quite a bit. Both the Sims 4 and 2, but I like 2 more because it has more subtle and cool details. I'd argue it's even more realistic than 4 despite older graphics. But even more than the main game, I like the spin-off for the Sims 2, the Sims castaway. Basically, the Sims 2 but you're stranded on a tropical island.
Oh, and just remembered! From more modern games, I really loved both Unravel games. It's another platformer, and it has gorgeous scenery! You play as yarn creatures in this one :3 It has no dialogue, and story is shown in scenes of memories that appear in the background as you play. And the stories are rather moving
As for mobile games, I think I liked the Cookie Run games the most. I played a lot of mobile games, but non aren't really that good. Pokémon Go and Pikmin Go are fun to Play from time to time, I guess, but I wouldn't call them my favourite.
I really liked the Rayman series a while ago, you can still find some old Rayman art on my Instagram account⊠But not so much now.
And I liked playing the old Counter Strike (is it called Counter Strike Source? Idk, I think it was even older version) but only with other people, and I have no one to play it with now.
There are a lot more games I like, but some are retro games, like all the classic survival horror games, and emulation can be tricky since, some of them never came to PC. So I haven't really played them⊠But I like a lot of retro-styled indie games like that, I should play them⊠I'm sure I'm forgetting some games, but that list would be too long anyway
Ah! How could I have forgotten! Lara Croft/Tomb Raider. This series was why I wanted to be an archaeologist (plans didn't work out tho.) I'm planning to buy the three first games for my switch, since they re-released it not long ago with some graphic improvements! :3
Oh, and one more game I feel like I'd really like would be Vintage Story. It has the look of Minecraft, but is more focused on survival and has some more complicated mechanics. Plus eldritch horror. And underground abandoned cities! My jam really - w-
