Reminder that Renae De Liz, along with her husband and collaborator Ray Dillon, were planning on following up the generally beloved The Legend of Wonder Woman with not only sequels and an Amazons-focused spinoff, but a broader The Legend of... series for the other major DC names (Superman/Batman/Flash/etc.) culminating in The Legend of the Justice League, giving a tidy self-contained all-ages entry series of books for the larger world.

Unfortunately DC binned the entire enterprise while Vol. 2 was halfway through production, due to Dillon expressing subdued public disappointment with DC greenlighting Kevin Grevioux's Odyssey of the Amazons when the two of them had publicly pitched basically the exact same thing as an extension of a comic that was already happening. Aside from a single variant cover I don't know about either of them ever working for DC again, and while I doubt many folks remember it now, at the time it was a MASSIVE moment of 'has DC completely lost its mind' over cancelling an apparent perennial in the making over such trivial bullshit. So when De Liz posted those 7 initial images up there last January, it was a big 'what might have been' moment.
