A gift for my dear friend @miraakulous-cloud-district !!!! After her most recent chapter of her fic: Wherever You Go, There You Are, I was inspired to create an outfit for her Dovahkiin, Ravonna!!! This was also inspired by the Deathbrand armor and celestial maps that are used for navigation. :D

WIP Wednesday

Thanks for the tag! @lokimobius This is a small snippet from a multichapter AU I'm co-writing with @mythical-magik and @kusakichan15. I can't give too many details about it, but suffice to say it is turning out to be a LOT bigger of a project than we first anticipated 😅 So enjoy this little bit from a scene we wrote recently! I promise it won't be TOO long before the fic actually starts coming out 😋

Ravonna is packing up her satchel, as Loki enters the office. “Mr Laufeyson.” She greets. Dismissing the two hunters that escorted the variant with the wave of her hand. Loki looks around, noticing how it's just himself, the judge and another hunter standing beside her, a hand resting on his time stick. “I've got a lead on a case, and you'll be helping Mobius by coming along.” He looks at her sceptically. “Me?” he points to himself, quizzically. “Yes, you.” She pauses. “Intel gathering.” She elbarates only a little, gesturing to the hunter beside her and then to the variant. “Put on the collar." “I beg your pardon?" his eyes go wide, looking down at the collar being held out to him. Ravonna sighs and rolls her eyes crossing her arms across her chest, her patience already running thin. “Do you want to help Mobius or not?" She snaps, and Loki glares at her. "…Of course I do!” He grumbles back, not appreciating her questioning his loyalties. "Then put on the collar and follow me." He snatches the collar out of the hunter's hand, rolling his eyes and moving his hair out the way as he fits it around his neck. It whirs to life, and he catches how Ravonna is watching him. “Happy?” His tone is laced with sarcasm, arms outstretched and she nods, opening a timedoor. “We’re going from here - what about a team?” He glances around at the three of them, half expecting more hunters to step out of the shadows, but seeing no one. “Intel gathering.” She repeats like it's obvious. He narrows his eyes. Intel gathering. The timedoor opens, and she's waiting for him to step up beside her, the hunter stepping up behind him and nudging him forwards. “I can walk, thank you very much! You don't have to-” “Move.” The hunter is holding up the non lethal end of the timestick, ready to nudge him through the timedoor but Loki doesn’t give them a chance. He steps in line with Ravonna and through to the other side.

Ah, I just started giggling when I read the "give me something strong" sentence. She sounds like a little girl who is hurrying to grow up, picking up phrases from adults and incorporating them into her childish vocabulary, it's just so cute! 😭 And realistic too—working with children made me realize just how good parrots they are...🤲 And Endryn my beloved... YOU REALLY WANT ME TO GET SAD RIGHT NOW. 🥺

THIS WEEK I ACTUALLY DID THE WRITING !!

Thank you so much to my dear friends @illumiera and @bougainvillea-and-saltwater for tagging me, this brought a huge smile on my face because I actually have something to share for a wip wednesday! Finally!! I have a memory sequence from the next chapter of WYGTYA and writing kid Ravonna got me so emotional.

“Can’t sleep.” Ravonna rubbed her eyes.

“How come?” He crouched down to be at face level with her.

“‘Dunno. Give me something strong.” She said with conviction, and Endryin did his best to suppress his laughter.

“You've been hearing that too much. I’m afraid it doesn’t work on eight year-olds.” He ruffled her hair until big green pupils were staring at him annoyed. 

“Well then what do kids do to fall asleep?”

“I don’t know. Can’t remember.” He grinned, teasing her.

“Old man...”

“Let’s see… do you want me to read you a story?” he asked, remembering that that’s what he heard some parents say.

“How does that help me sleep though? I’ll just be listening to you. ‘S rude not to pay attention.”

He really laughed this time, shaking his head and pinching the bridge of his nose. “You’re unbelievable, you know that?” 

“What’s unbelievable is that you don’t have a strong, kid friendly drink to help me sleep.”

“Would miss girl sleep better after a glass of milk, perhaps?”

Endryn fathered so hard that he mothered. He is, tragically, very fun to write and I wish I could write him as something else other than a flashback, but it is what it is. "well, if it's a grocery store, they'll have the kids pull items to the front of the shelves - at least, only as high as they can reach. they don't allow them on ladders, they're very clumsy. they'll have them sweep or dust. in clothing stores, they'll have them hang clothes or sweep. any general store, there's a sweeping job. just little stuff that kids tend to know how to do already. very minimal, but it gives them something to do if they wanna earn a little money," galinda explained. she swept stores when she was young and she enjoyed it. not only did she get to clean, which she loved to do, she got to earn money for it too, and it helped get her through shiz university. "and that's how it should be done! there's nothing wrong with adding a luxury if there's a little extra in the budget, but the priority items should be at the top of the list," she said with a nod. "oh, they do. they love to learn about new things. almost everything is new to four year olds, so they get excited about everything."

Ravonna was curious about what the other’s home was like it sounded interesting in terms of schooling and jobs “Really? That's very interesting how do they pair up children with age-appropriate work? We used to have a thing called factory work but it was hardly safe or labor for young children yet they hired them for next to nothing” She mused after all it was clear that whatever issues they had here weren’t the same where Galinda was from. “You aren’t wrong it never fails that once someone gets into power they tend to forget the reasons they were running in the first place I’ve seen it happen time and time again. It’s why I listen to my staff and see what their needs are and ensure we weigh them against the budget properly” She mused before smiling softly “That’s lovely, they sound amazing if they are anything like their mother I’m sure they take great pleasure in running around and seeing everything they can.” @galindafication​
