I'm reading Crime and Punishment, does Raskolnikov have a borderline personality disorder? Because he doesn't seem to have a stable sense of self and of the world.
#no shame to people with bpd; i have one myself#just his switches in mood and tought patterns remind me of the symptoms#also let's not demonize his bpd; the murder is not for that reason I believe#he is just a weird guy to begin with; apart form the mood switches and random thoughts#he seems to be a cynical shithead#fyodor dostoevsky#fiodor dostoievski#fiodor dostojewski#crime and punishment#rodya raskolnikov#also i remember that this was our required reading in high school - i didn't read this at the time cause I was a busy with ya fantasy#or some shit like that#but I remember how the book was described and how Raskolnikov was decribed and how his crime was described in school#and I am kinda like ???z#did I and all of those literature doctors read the same book?#or do I just feel it differently?#is that me or them?#maybe it's because I allegedly have bpd (first diagnosis; second is different but tbh the doctor is shit and didn't do a proper interview)#and the first one did#Raskolnikov in school was calculated and cold#and don't get me wrong - he planned the crime I get it; he is a bitch I get it#but he is also a mess with mental illness who lives in extreme poverty#🤔#he seems to be emotionally unstable - not cold and calculated#smart but still very messy#also empathetic some of the times?#and thoughtful?#but my man is just walking around town with fever and severely sick#just stay at home!!!
