Eugene is the one who introduced Rapunzel to the palace library. Although that was later made noncanonical in "Beginnings" it lives in my heart as the Truth™ rent free.

A few days after the Contest of the Crowns, Rapunzel and Cassandra have a poetry lesson. But while cleaning up from this lesson, they find a mysterious book that may unlock a secret Cass has been looking for her entire life and give Rapunzel a deeper insight into Corona's ancient and magical history.
