[Regarding foods, I am again one of those indecisive asshats who has a favorite dish in most any style/ethnicity/etc. of Food: with 'proper' Mexican I love Enchiladas, Vietnamese its Pho (with shrimp), Thai its Pad-Thai, Italian its a tie between Chicken Parmigiana and Lasagnia, and so on. In its own right I tend to have a go-to for each style that I use as a personal metric for how I'd rate different restaurants.]
[If you want my 'dream' selection of toppings on a Pizza, its Mozzarella, Parmesan, Ricotta, Feta, Pepperoni, Salami, Meatball-and/or-sausage, Bacon Bits, Katamala Olives, Spinach, Grape Tomatoes, Roasted Garlic, Basil, Oregano, and light garnish of Arugula and Balsamic glaze. If you want my 'dream' soup, look below for images from my seafood-medeley-chowder-cooking adventures of the last two days- yes I made an onion saute that I turned into a Roux-approximate that was used as the main thickening agent for the chowder, and yes it IS creamy and delicious beyond belief.]
[Going back to Roleplay Community Topics... again, I have a hard time picking 'favorites'; especially given how long and how much development has happened with Hriob and my blog here over the many, many years now that we've been... well, mostly active. I've had him go on drunken benders with a now-defunct Tengu blog that has had ramifications to this day, I've had him fall in love for the first time and drive himself nearly to self-destruction with the past versions of the blog over at @gingerhoneycakes over how much he cared for his eventual-fiance, I've had him gain students and discover his gargantuan soft spot for children - especially those in need - thanks to running into Yugo and to a lesser extent Laharl over at @heroesxdemons, and I've delved deeper into his early years - and past lives - thanks to discovering past versions of the blog over at @melodiadraconis and creating a collaborative backstory feedback loop of epic proportions that still is tweaked and expanded on to this day with that close friend.]
[I can't just pick one, that's like going to part of a house and saying 'this is my favorite brick'; taking it out of context - out of the foundation - just doesn't do it justice, give credit to its place in the entire narrative-structure, or let the story as a whole shine as brightly.]

*(speaking of dirt. This is always a classic)*
*Comes up and drops a mudball onto Daichi's foot.* "Now you're a mudfoot to!"
The Tengu looked from the grinning Fairy to his soiled getas, and then back to Cirno.
Lots of questions fought for priority in Daichi’s mind as the mud seeped into his socks. What possessed the Fairy to do such a thing? Why did she think the term was taken literally? Did she not understand how degrading it was to call a Karasu a mudfoot? Was it intentional? Maybe she’s trying to help? Did she carry a mudball all the way up the Mountainside? How does she keep slipping past the Sentries? Or were they in on the joke?
In the end though, the din of the battlefield in the reporter’s skull was stilled as a titan took the field. It was a legend, and the other questions scattered as it approached. Any inquiries that were too slow were laid low. It was bloody and horrific, but a few brave interrogatives managed to put aside their differences long enough to rally against the superior foe… Their heroic resistance proved to be meaningless; their ragtag alliance was crushed.
Raising its question mark in victory, the single syllable interrogative roared, and the struggle ended.
“… Why? Why, Ms Cirno?”

[[Thinking about senses, you've hinted that Nue's true color is a planck wavelength and I'm digging the shadow notion of identities, but what about her seeds? How does Nue herself perceive them?]]
((Well this is an old one my apologies. Anyway, in reference to this?))
“Painting with coloured shadows.”
Well if we continue the idea of identities as metaphorical shadows of idealized objects, they’d have to be something that in someway interferes with said shadows. They couldn’t be platonian idealized perfect objects themselves though, as that would simply make things be identified as them or having their traits rather than being unidentified outright.
One possibility that does require further torturing the ‘identities as shadows’ and plato’s cave metaphor is that they are something that screws with the light source that causes the shadows to be cast in the first place. Maybe they ‘move’ the light source (if such a thing can be said to happen on a plane of pure ideal) in such a way that an objects identities move off it.
But regardless of the exact mechanism, I like the idea that the seeds are literally Nue physically obscuring the identities on that layer of reality with her own form. Perhaps her physical form that we see is simply a ‘shadow puppet’ of sorts and her wings are to it as the shadows of our wrists would be in a conventional shadow puppet. Perhaps that even implies that Nue’s so called wings always point in the direction of something she’s obscured?
Dunno, like any of my headcanons around Nue’s exact nature it is ever changing and fun to think about.

[[No one going to toss ye old 2hu for the criticism dealie? Let's hear it, Dark: Touhou.]]
Tumblr doesn’t like your asks, bird man. Tumblr does not like telling me about them. Anyway, most of my problems are with the fandom but there may be a gripe or two about the series itself.
(Fandom) Stop the incest ships. Just stop it.
(Fandom) Stop with the sexualization of child-coded characters. I don’t care how old they ‘really’ are or how mature they’re depicted in the fanwork.
(Fandom) Get a more even spread of fanwork love rather than lumping 90% of it on EoSD 15 years later.
(Canon) Get a proper localization and distribution team for international markets, even if it’s volunteer, to allow for consistent sales. I realize that kind of ruins the doujin aspect of it but I’d like to see ZUN actually profit off of his non-Japanese audiences.
(Canon) Larger character bios in the games themselves, because I’m a lore junkie.

"Ms Kaku, how many Jiang-shi can you command at once?" Daichi couldn't decide on Pretzel-Haired Menace Can Command Horde or Hermit's Smile Reveals More Fangs Than Teeth. Neither was any good as a title, but he couldn't think up anything better.
“How many? The answer is actually both ‘not too many’, but also ‘as many as I want’. Let’s say, if Yoshika ‘recruited’ exactly a dozen servants for me, that I’d have a hard time directing all of their actions fluidly at once. This is especially difficult as those kind of jiang-shis aren’t as autonomous as Yoshika, and will likely just fall over or stand in place without my attention. Plastering command tags on them alleviates this issue somewhat, but as soon as their actions meet an end or are interrupted, they’re useless until I approach them again.
Now, if I were to hypothetically make more people into jiang-shis from the ground up, my options are a bit more flexible. I could supply them with instructions in advance, then activating those commands at the same time. So I could direct a whole mob of jiang-shi to, say… run amok in a small village.
Of course, that’s only in theory. I doubt any other jiang-shi would easily follow my commands to the letter as she does, since I’ve spent a long time with her. And once you start amassing numbers… Well, they’d really only be good for letting run wild, because trying to control any more than a handful would be far more difficult than is worth the effort to amass those numbers in the first place.
…I can see it in your eyes, by the way. ‘This woman must just be waiting to cause mayhem with an army of the dead!’ Curb such thoughts, I’d never dream of such causing such… pointless chaos. Besides, a lot of people are, unsurprisingly, unwilling to even accept remedies from me, let alone allow me the intricate examination needed to sustain their bodies past expiration.
Or maybe, Mister Reporter, you’re eager for some kind of demonstration? Unless you know any fresh cadavers and have a lot of time on your hands, then…”

Akira and Kasumi bicker about mundane things, but they've fallen into such a formula, they'll often finish each other's arguments to cut the other off.
Send me a headcanon and on a scale from 1-10 I’ll rate it!
Status: Accepting.
I give this one a eight or nine out of ten. Current conditions aren’t exactly ideal for it to happen, but once Akira and Kasumi start talking (and therefore arguing) on a more frequent basis, I’m definitely putting this in.

"Ms Renko, how would you say your life has changed since you came to Gensokyo?"
“There was the entire, loss of and finding of Mary when we got here. That scores pretty high on the list of life changes.Other then that?Maybe being a little bit more humble in the face of greater powers?”
As the mun, I can tell you that is not true.

"Luk ba, little Human fledgling!" That's bird for hello. "Are you a witch? Someone mentioned you were an ar-kay-olo-gist, but the hat is clear giveaway that you're a witch." Nod nod nod. "Yes, definitely a witch."
“I am a witch archaeologist, actually. A witch is merely my role in terms of ability and skills. Archaeologist is my career.” She paused, “...Is ‘Luk Ba’ a greeting where you come from? What language would that be?”

If you’re a multimuse or have more than one blog, is there a muse you wish you used more?
As someone who got their start in the Touhou roleplay scene, it's criminal how little I've used my Tengu character, Masa.
I feel like a lot of that comes from an overall departure of my original roleplay partners, a lot of the groundwork for where Masa comes from was from interacting with @randomtengureporter back when he was alive. With him gone, as well as most other people I knew who had Tengu muses either vanishing or choosing to roleplay on discord instead, she sees little use.

Like there was any other choice dearest reader! I don’t remember a time when I didn’t want to get off this boring old mountain and go and see Gensokyo and the world for myself! Being a reporter was the most obvious way to do just that!
