Ryoga is always more willing to defend Akane at first even when she's wrong, but eventually after everyone calms down I see him being the glue that makes Ranma and Akane get along.

But of course, this is considering that in this AU they become a policule and certain dynamics adapt to this new model of them connecting XD

I respect different perspectives as it's cool how you can view Ranma Saotome in different ways. But I've personally always read Ranma as a closeted trans girl due to their strict upbringing from her parents. The slow burn Ranma x Akane romance comes off more realistic personally.

There is a long ass post to be made about Akane character development after her hair is cut. Something something forcing herself to be more feminine or to appeal to a more feminine nature to compete for the attention of a grown man- who was obivously in love with her eldest sister. (Even tho thats kinda sus im assuming their both like 19 and 19 or at the very least 19 and 20). Its not even really compete its more like, trying to be an adult too soon.

Akane trying to be something she not, couple that with the she not 100% staright either narrative. It is why Ranma fit her so well because it beings out a more natural side of her. Than her trying to fit herself into a box.
