Random Deltarune rambling.

Been thinking about how some people assume Kris is the knight based on their actions, followed by Kris opening up a dark fountain. And then those people mock the idea that anyone else could be the Knight.

But then remember how the game parallels Noelle with an angel, even calling her "angel" directly to our faces, but nobody assumes or debates if she could possibly be said angel.

Like I'm up for whatever happens in the game. But it is funny to see how people treat these things, that to me seem equal, as totally different. Like both things are supposed to make us go "OH THEN IS "THIS" CHARACTER THIS "THING" THEN?". Things to ponder while they work on new chapters.

Toby knows his fandom. He probably expected us to talk and debate things about the story. Why else would both chapters end with a cliffhanger that lets our minds go wild?

In many ways, we're still just at the start of the story. It can go anywhere. But as time goes on, people get attached to some ideas and then decide "this is how it is supposed to go". And this, of course, isn't bad. But it will be fun to look back on what the fandom created before chapters 3 and 4.

To me, the first taste of this was in the most recent newsletter and looking at that screenshot with Noelle. Is it her house? Another place we haven't been to? Either way, it got me thinking on how I haven't seen anyone do a take of what a dark world could be like based on the Holiday manor, to say an example. Most dark worlds predictions are limited to what we've seen so far in Hometown (which makes sense).Like, we might not even get a dark world of something like the church or Asgore's flower shop.

IN ANY CASE: I love deltarune and I love speculation. It is just fascinating to see how a fandom interacts with the work of fiction they follow.

I just wanna explain this to like the two ppl who might care. When you hear me say "the queue borked" what happened is, somewhere along the line I accidentally hit the "shuffle queue" button.... And then after getting a lot of it fixed, I accidentally hit the button again. 😭

"Fixed? What do you mean, fixed, bcb?" Well.... I'm extremely picky about when certain things come out of my queue. For example, my KP posts are always at 6:30pm EST. I don't want them showing up in random order.

Before the accidental pressing of the shuffle button, I was also extremely specific about....fandom posts not appearing back to back. It was always fandom, random, fandom, random... I'm just one of those extremely picky people about my blog. And I have approximately 500 things in my queue right now.

So yeah I had gone through, re-ordered posts by using the schedule feature, and then....somehow accidentally hit the shuffle button again. So I've given up on the fandom/random pattern because it was just too painful but I DO still try to never just do....random/random/random. I'm okay with fandom/random/random or random/fandom/random or..... Okay you're getting the idea, right? But the KP post always last in the four queued posts... And when I see something wrong in the fourth slot I pull it and sometimes I can't find a KP post in all the randomness I have queued...

I don't know what kind of executive dysfunction this is that I have about my queue but. AUGH. Sorry sorry sorry sorry.... I know probably no one cares but I felt like explaining all this. Please don't tell me not to care. It's my blog. If I wanna suffer for it, that's my issue.

This happened like a month ago but it still irks me a bit so I’m putting it up here.

In my DnD campaign, one of my player characters was talking to another character about various religious stuff in the setting. I took this time to introduce the Moon Goddess Galicaea, who has a winged wolf icon that he saw in a nightmare.

“Yeah so she has a special bond with wolves, and has a whole host of winged wolves that fly alongside her chariot that pulls the moon. This special bond is why wolves howl at the moon.”

“Actually, wolves don’t actually howl at the moon. They howl to communicate. Also, her chariot pulls the moon?”

“Yeah.”

“…What about gravity?”

My brother in Christ you are playing as a 12-year-old boy and his 14-year old sister trapped in the same body because both of you died and then made a shady deal with a mysterious god. One of you was deathly allergic to magic, but is now fine, and the other can shoot literal fire and lightning from her fingertips. You have fox ears and a tail that nobody really knows how to explain. You are talking to a half-human half-angel kid with a half-orc step dad and whose angel dad left because he was bound to the celestial planes. Your partner in crime is a dragon man who is learning to manipulate the flow of time and can breathe freezing death at people.

But God fuckin forbid the wolves are actually howling at the moon or there be other magical forces in space besides gravity. That would shatter the immersion!

Ok. So I have a lot of ongoing mini painting projects right now because if there’s one thing I am absolutely incapable of doing, it’s working on and prioritizing things that progress my life forward instead of actively sabotaging my own future, but if there are two things I’m incapable of doing, it’s that and finishing a model before starting on another one. All this is to say that right now I’m working on a lotta little guys, including (but not strictly limited to) my weird Slaaneshi space marine, my armadillo termagant, Captain Titus of the Ultramarines, a squad of 6mm Eldar jetbikes, a DnD elf wizard, a Warhammer fantasy elf named the Bladebreaker because both her swords broke while painting her, a skitarii-elf kitbash that I’ve named Inquisitor Dimitri Carlisle, Carlisle’s genestealer cultist nemesis by name of Wermigon, a Possessed Soldier from DOOM: The Board Game, a couple skitarii rangers, one skitarii vanguard on a giant motorized unicycle, and a bunch of terrain. However, with all this being said, there is one project that, despite it being only in the very beginning stages, I’m very excited about and I want to bring special attention to today.

- every other race makes fun of your bland cooking, with good reason

- you gotta walk up a thousand stairs to make it to the 2nd room of any building bc the architect thought making it tall and ornate af was a good idea for some reason

- no other race laughs at your jokes, with good reason

- theres always some fucker high up the chain of command whos like "elven kind never interacts with the brutish orcs...." and youre like "who voted for this guy anyway" and then you find out he was chosen royal advisor 10,000 years before you were born

- every other race makes fun of your garbs. With good reason.
