We speak to the Spanish photographer Rainer Torrado, who's capturing the spirit of a new generation of partiers through his intimate portraiture in Paris. This is Generation XXY. http://bit.ly/2CZSIXh http://bit.ly/2VjUnhD

4: Picking Gaultier’s Pieces
Now that I’ve chosen my theme - Gender fluidity - I need to pick some of the pieces I want to incorporate into my exhibition. From here, I will be able to create a logo design and think about possible identities.
https://thebahar.wordpress.com/2015/06/26/jean-paul-gaultier-and-the-self-presentation-of-gender-identity/
This page JEAN PAUL GAULTIER AND THE SELF-PRESENTATION OF GENDER IDENTITY has a lot of information on pieces that Gaultier has created that change peoples perceptions of what certain gender types should wear. Maybe I will find some potential pieces to use.
‘Haute Couture’ and ‘Pret-A-Porter’
Jean Paul Gaultier, 1990 Designed specially to illustrate the cover of the autobiographical photonovel À Nous Deux la mode. Painted photograph, framed by the artists Private collection, Paris © Pierre et Giles/Rainer Torrado
Tanel Bedrossiantz, in a dress from the Barbès collection Jean Paul Gaultier, women’s prêt-à-porter, autumn-winter 1984–1985
“Jean Paul Gaultier has made a revolution of his own, crossing boundaries within the fashion world. His womens wear are designed and constructed to be worn by male models and his mens wear are designed vice versa.“Except for the medieval codpiece and the bra, garments have never had a gender. ” says Gaultier. The quote speaks itself, Gaultier claims there is no gender within fashion.”
I definitely want to use Pejic in the exhibition, because although she may not be wearing a man’s suit, she represents Gaultier’s views on trans gender and gender fluidity. Maybe the Spring 2011 wedding dress?
Chris Tucker in the 1997 film ‘The fifth Element wearing the leopard bodysuit designed by Jean Paul Gaultier.
I think this costume fits well with my theme and also shows a different aspect to Gaultier’s work - costume design for films. Therefore I think this would work well in the exhibition.

Life Ball 2014 with Conchita Wurst
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/conchita-wurst-becomes-a-couture-catwalk-model-for-jean-paul-gaultier-she-is-unstoppable-9595557.html
“I always say that beauty is difference and Conchita has shown us all that she is unstoppable. And she looks great in couture; she is a real couture woman.” - Gaultier
Maybe I can use a piece of his work worn by Conchita Wurst, who is known for pushing boundaries and widely supported following her win in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2014.
Madonna performs Vogue on stage during her MDNA tour debut at Ramat Gan Stadium in Israel, wearing a recreation of the iconic Jean Paul Gaultier bustier
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2152786/Madonnas-cone-bustier-BACK-22-years-Jean-Paul-Gaultier-reinvents-iconic-design-MDNA-tour.html
Gaultier has designed many things for Madonna through the years and they are known to be great friends. This piece is including the theme of gender fluidity and I think would be important to include because Madonna has been such a big part of Gaultier’s career.

The first time Gaultier put a man in a skirt in 1985.
