My Favorite Restaurants in Dublin
When I started going regularly to Dublin 2 years ago, I began to discover the culinary aspects of the city by trying mainly restaurants in Ballsbridge where the office is, and in the city center. I had then compiled a list of my go-to restaurants and published it here.
Since then, I discovered some new places that are worth making it to the list of my favorite eateries in Dublin. It is a collection of restaurants and coffee shops, so whether you are a seafood fan, a meat lover, or have a sweet tooth, you will find your new favorite in the list.
Klaw / The Seafood café by Niall Sabongi
Cuisine: Seafood
Address: 5A Crown Alley, Dublin 2
Website: http://klaw.ie/
What’s special about it: This 2018 Irish restaurants award winner made its reputation by bringing fresh seafood dining to the city.
Recommended: I tried lobster rolls, fish and chips, and grilled gambas and they all tasted fresh and delicious.
Rosa Madre
Cuisine: Italian
Address: 7 Crow St, Temple Bar, Dublin, Ireland
Website: http://www.rosamadre.ie/
What’s special about it: Italian restaurant focused on fish and seafood.
Recommended: I tried the oven-baked scallops with breadcrumbs and parmesan as a starter, and had truffle ravioli after. The starter was beautifully presented. The ravioli was very delicious and filling.
Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill
Cuisine: Steakhouse
Address: 51 Dawson St, Dublin 2
Website: http://marcopierrewhite.ie/
What’s special about it: This steakhouse is already on my previous list, but it is making it here again since it is still my favorite. They have great food and service.
Recommended: I tried the fillet steak, the salt aged Delmonico ribeye, and the lamb à la Dijonnaise, all I can say is that they made of this place my favorite steakhouse in Dublin.
Edelwise
Cuisine: Fondue and Raclette
Address: 51 Ranelagh Village, Dublin 6
Website: http://www.swiss-edelwise.com/
What’s special about it: Is Fondue French or Swiss? We had this endless debate at Edelwise when sharing the fondue between French, Swiss, Irish and Lebanese people. The ambiance was convivial, the food delicious, and the service very attentive. So we were really sad to hear from the staff that Edelwise is planning to close its doors soon. So hurry up and give it a visit before it is too late.
Recommended: Have a Fondue Corsé or Truffle Fondue, and finish with a Swiss Chocolate Dream, and why not with a Chocolate Fondue.

Dolce Sicily
Cuisine: Italian Café and Restaurant
Address: 20 Anne St South, Dublin
Website: http://dolcesicily.ie/
What’s special about it: I have only tried its desserts, and they are among the best in Dublin. Since it was on Dawson street, it has been my go-to place when I am craving sweets. The good news is that since it moved to its new location, it extended its working hours. So now I can drop by any day and get my dessert fix in no-hurry.
Recommended: Cannoli filled with ricotta or custard and berries, and Rafaello cake filled with custard cream, almonds and coconut.
Diwali
Cuisine: Indian and Nepalese
Address: 1, 73-83 South Great George's Street, Dublin 2
Website: https://diwali.ie/
What’s special about it: Varied menu and authentic cuisine. You know it is good when you see the Indian community among its guests.
Recommended: I only tried Korma so far, but I am planning to visit soon to try their other specialties.
Bewley’s Café
Cuisine: Café with sandwiches and desserts
Address: 78- 79 Grafton Street, Dublin 2
Website: https://www.bewleys.com/ie/
What’s special about it: The oldest café in Dublin and one of its landmark! Also the one with the best hot chocolate in the city.
Recommended: I tried their signature tea, hot chocolate and some of their desserts. My favorite is the honeycomb cheesecake.
The Old Spot
Cuisine: Irish gastropub
Address: 14 Bath Ave, Dublin 4
Website: http://theoldspot.ie/
What’s special about it: Winner of a Michelin star, the Old Spot serves delicious food and recommends booking ahead of time if you are going in a big group.
Recommended: I tried their burger, fish and chips and some of their sandwiches. My favorite was the steak open sandwich.
Murphy’s
Cuisine: Ice Cream
Address: 27 Wicklow St, Dublin 2
Website: http://murphysicecream.ie/
What’s special about it: They have their own special flavors, and stay open till late. So if you are craving ice cream at night, you can stop by and get some.
Recommended: My favorites are the chocolate and raspberry sorbet.
Matt The Thresher
Cuisine: Fish
Address: 31-32 Pembroke Street Lower, Dublin 2
Website: http://mattthethresher.ie/
What’s special about it: Award winning family-owned fish and seafood restaurant
Recommended: Simply any of their fish dishes, always fresh and tasty. I tried this cod with broccoli, potatoes and nuts.
It doesn’t end here. I can’t wait to keep trying new places every time I visit Dublin. So if you have any recommendations, I am happy to try them. I will be updating my my Instagram account TastyErrands with the best dishes I get to taste.

Some more things I’ve made the last week:
White chocolate truffles using this recipe: https://minimalistbaker.com/5-ingredient-white-chocolate-truffles/ This was very very tasty. It reminds me very much of rafaello’s. It’s chocolate-y, coconut-y and creamy. I will be making this more often.
Noodles with gochujang sauce, based upon this recipe: https://www.cookingwithcocktailrings.com/recipes/2019/creamy-gochujang-noodles I was mostly just looking for a confirmation of people using gochujang in a more creamy pasta sauce. This was the confirmation I needed, but I used vegan ingredients. Also I accidentally bought sweetened vegan heavy cream. The end result turned out okay, but definitely not what I had hoped for. I will be making this again with a different cream. It will still be vegan though. Also the sauce worked well with green beans and bell peppers.
Chocolate rice crispie bars, using this recipe: https://robustrecipes.com/peanut-butter-chocolate-puffed-rice-treats/ I really liked this one! I LOVE the combination of chocolate with rice crispies. The first time I tried to make rice crispy bars however, the crispies floated to the top, leaving all the chocolate in the bottom. This recipe did not have this problem as much. The flavor is also nice, I will be making this more often, I’d recommend this!
